Visited here three times now. Twice on a Friday eve and recently on a Thurs eve. The Fri eve has it for atmosphere and size of audience!! Thurs eve was lacking in both. Each time I have been part of a group on a package of entry, 2 course meal and reserved seating. Good value for the money. Good night out. 😊😊

Awesome night out! Great food, drink and service from the staff and a top selection of stand up comedy from some great acts! Well worth a visit it you haven't already!

Great Sunday night out for cheap at new stuff, where comedians try out new material. There were 8 comedians total, and all were excellent, even when they couldn't remember their material!
The only thing I was annoyed about was that I went with someone with a walking stick who needs a seat, and so we arrived at 6pm (the stated doors open time) for the 7.30pm show to ensure we got a seat for him (as there's no seat reservations) as we had no idea how busy it was going to be. Turns out the doors for the theatre don't open until 10-15 mins before the show, and only the bar area is open from 6 so it turned out to be a waste of time. Plus the place was less than 1/4 full in the end so we felt a bit dumb. Anyway we just got a drink and hung out in the bar area, but we would have rushed less before hand if we had of known.

Very snug seats, expensive drinks, and frustrating patrons ( constant interruptions as people squeeze past you and obscure your view to get drinks and then need the toilet) they can't seem to wait 15-20 minutes between sets. It's like a mexican wave of the bladderly insecure.
The performers were excellent and very funny. The host was engaging, warm and personable. I would highly recommend and will come again.
R. L.
Well organised, seats were in good positions so everybody has a good view. Being able to take drinks and pizza in while show is going on is fantastic. 4 acts for the money is good value

Ola was amazing and truly hilarious especially being my second time with him on the set list. Wife wanted this picture when I bought his DVD 📀.

Great venue, beer was a bit tangy to start off with, clean and a large bar so you're not waiting to long.
J. M.
Took my wife out for my anniversary, got a burger and pint deal twice which was okay however it was spoilt by various people getting on stage and telling jokes so we couldn't enjoy our food in peace. Not sure why the security didn't put a stop to it.
Maybe they should remove the stage so people won't be tempted to be disruptive whilst others are eating.
I. W.
A great club for comedy, featuring a theatre-style performance space and an adjoining spacious bar area. A full weekly line-up of varied shows, friendly and accommodating staff as well as top-notch production values make it an easy recommendation to anyone hoping to watch live comedy.
S. K.
Fantastic show, venue brilliant and not too big so feels cozy!
S. J.
Always a great night and the heckling kept to a minimum so we can enjoy the professionals, not the audience amateurs. Very funny acts, great compères, helpful staff, just good all around
D. C.
Fantastic night out, great comedy, reasonably priced drinks considering all other places to drink in this location, fantastic pizzas at your table in under ten minutes if you're feeling a quick nibble to eat before the show, good facilities and all round a great night out will be going again

Nice little venue. Went to see a live show based off a podcast and was really impressed. And all right next to the train station. Very good
J. T.
Nice place. Good food, great drinks selection, staff were excellent and courteous. The acts we seen were very good. With a good mix of styles. The venue is ample space, nicely decorated and well furnished. With food and drinks also available in separate areas, and the stage separated again, it has a great use of space. The bar is great size and there were adequate number of staff serving. Such a great night. Would heartily recommend it as a great night out!

Attended our first 'King Gong' here on Sunday, great affordable night out. (£6/ person) Definitely won't be our last visit here

(We had the package that included bar food.)
What a fun evening we had. Four comedians, each as funny as the other. The host did a great job keeping us busy and introducing the comedians. Wonderful show.
The food was less good. Pizza was decent, nachos were bad. Not crispy at all. Drinks we ordered at he bar, although busy, fast service!
L. E.
As in previous visits the atmosphere is excellent! Lovely service from the busy bar staff. Some great acts including the brilliant Mandy Knight, Mick Ferry and Jeff Innocent had us laughing out loud all night long!
J. P.
Tip: Book Sunday night for a low cost evening of £6 per person in exchange for comedians trying new material.
We got here and ordered a few drinks. The Selection was good. We didn't try any food. The doors to the seating for the show open promptly at 19:15. There are no bad seats so you can take your time. We really enjoyed ourselves and would highly recommend the Sunday night show.
If you like this review, please give a thumbs up below ☺️.

Took a party of Hens here for food and the show.
The food was very good... It must have been as we all cleared our plates. The Beef Brisket was cooked perfectly. The show was brilliant. Not laughed like that for a long time. Good mix of comedians. Glad we didn't sit on the front row.... You will get picked on if you dare to sit there. Brilliant night and much better than just trawling around the pubs. We did the early show. On coming out it looked like the late show would have been a lot busier. I would still do the early show if I had a choice. Would definitely reccommend a visit. Ignore the negative reviews and go make your own mind up... Have a laugh while you do that.
A. Y.
This place never fails to make my sides hurt till the point of giving myself a stitch. The comp is fantastic and the acts are always on point. Brilliant.
D.
It's not too big is very intimate you feel that you're part of the act. You can engage if omitted to the act. Every seat as a great view you the beer is fantastic although slightly overpriced the pizzas are brilliant yet again slightly overpriced.. but they are very nice. The staff are amazing. buy a ticket is very simple. I've been there quite a few times. And it's different every single time I'm. What is that not to like. I'm definitely one of the regulars.

Had a great night from start to finish..was treated like a VIP as I had booked online and didn't just turn up.There is a very good bar service and also somewhere to eat or upgrade to a fancy meal for a few dollars more. The Comedian's were top notch and the overall experience met my expectations. Thoroughly enjoyed myself.
A. E.
A good evening, with a mix of stand-up acts; some better then others. Entry and drinks on the higher end in terms of price.
A. P.
Brilliant fun. We arrived a little early and had some drinks in the bar before hand. They had a good selection of standard drinks, they also do pizzas, which looked good. The actual comedy was really good got to see four acts plus a compare they were all different but equally funny. Would definatly recommend!
D. G.
Two words: Isaac Butterfield... Sensational night, staff were friendly and appreciated the fact that we were there for a great show... They were interested to know how it was going and hurried my drinks during the show so I missed as little of it as possible. Good clean venue, plenty of bars and restaurants nearby, so you can make a decent evening of it. Parking was actually pretty easy considering the Manchester center location.... Thanks for a great night guys!

This is the second time I've visited the Comedy Store and on both occasions I've had a great time.
You get a mix of local, upcoming and recognised comedians performing. Who knows, you might see the next 'big thing.
The atmosphere before the show is good as you can relax in the bar with a few drinks and food.
For the entry fee, you really can't go wrong. Highly recommended.
I. K.
I have always wanted to go here, heard lots of stories such as the comedians are good and if you sit near the front that's it you're going to get picked on! Thankfully, we chose some seats right at the back it was a Saturday night very busy and they had very good line up of professional Comics who work the national circuit . overall, I have to say this is highly recommended for anyone whether you going as a couple or with a group of mates do it!
A. H.
Great night. Really good atmosphere, all seats feel close enough to the stage to make it intimate. Was really blessed to see two of my favorite comedians on the same bill, but as usual it's the names you've never heard of that can give you the biggest laughs.
K. D.
Frequent visitor; great value for money, good location in Deansgate near the canals with various night life / restaurant locations. Comedy line- Ups have always been very funny and never disappointing, good value for money.
The food offering in the main bar is basic and not very good in my experience, although an extending dining experience is offered on the lower floor. If its laughs your after, look no further.
A. F.
Great array of comedians. Enjoyed 'Steve Gribbon' playing guitar and summary of the parties within the election. Very hilarious. The heckling crowd were very distracting and interrupted the show. Security did their best to control. Also intermission was quite long. Overall enjoyable night out for some laughs.
R. K.
Great night out. Great cast of comedians and good food on offer. The timings were pretty good but the only gripe i had was people going to the toilet during the show. Obviously it cant be helped but some consideration would be great. Seats were okay and ticketing simple enough online. Advisable to get there early to get a good seat.
M. R.
Really good and busy location.
Bar well stocked with good selection of drinks. Bar staff friendly.
Food OK and value for money.
Comedians are really good and the reason you are visiting. They won't disappoint and will have you rolling around the floor laughing.
J. M.
Good value, good acts and always a laugh. Worth getting there 15/20 minutes prior to ensure you get a good seat and view. Personally, I wouldn't bother with the food and ticket deal and go for the later showing and grab a bite beforehand. Decent beers and wine at a reasonable price too.
K. C.
The comedy store is a great venue to catch up and coming comedians and those working the circuit. Very rarely do the bigger acts star here. Tickets are reasonably priced with packages for seats starting from £20, premium £25 (worth the extra£5) and various seat & food options are available. Food and drink can be taken to your seats to watch the show and food primarily consists of pizza choices £9.
Sundays has a children's comedy club with children under 5 free, over 5 are £3 and adults £5 which im going to check out soon and update this review.
The venue is nice and clean, friendly staff and a good vibe with plenty of laughs. Perfect for work functions, date night or even a trip out with friends. Shows including the interval usual last about 2hrs 20mins.
A. 7.
Small seats but great view of the stage. Women was eating pizza which meant the seat next the her would have to left empty to account for the arm moving in and out. Drunk women thought talking loudly about films would be a good idea. Security did nothing to stop this. Would be better if some seats had tables nearer the back so people could eat. Could also be improved with larger seats as even I struggled to sit down. Great show nether the less.
N. G.
First time to visit the Comedy Store but certainly won't be my last. Loved the ease of booking (we used Amazon local and saved £4 on each ticket). Great atmosphere and the compere and four stand ups were all brilliant. Really good value for money when you consider the quality of the acts. I was a little surprised by the security guys going around warning some of the people in the audience. Never seen this in a comedy club before but I guess it did improve the overall enjoyment for us as nobody was allowed to get too leery! Would recommend this night to anyone.

I'd not been here for many years so had forgotten how quirky this place was. The main area with the bar is pretty conventional. Staff were quick, friendly and efficient in serving. Good choice of drinks. Entering the for to the stage area you are welcomed by a novel use of the space available within an arch of the viaduct that makes the deansgate lock complex. Great novel use of the sides to create a hemisphere around the small stage, I particularly liked the higher seats tucked into the arch roof. Think it seats roughly just over 300 people. Was there for a recording for a BBC radio 4 show heat to win a prestigious new comedy award.
V. W.
The Comedy Store is a very lively place! When a show is on this place gets very busy, which for the most part is ok. Surprisingly though for such a small place there's always ample room at the stage.
The decor is great, stage looks modern and as you'd expect. Sound and lighting all great too. Only downside is the passing of trains is very audible, but this only adds to the character of the place.
Overall, it's a great night out, sheer masses of people in the bar area all crammed in are the only downside to this place. Otherwise it's definitely worth going.
M. B.
2nd time going and enjoyed the actual show. Just a shame about the audience as we had a rowdy group sat in front of us who talked through the entire thing. The bouncers just asked them to be quiet a few times. Was annoying really as couldn't hear the comedians. Asked them to be quiet ourselves and nearly started a confrontation. Perhaps would be good to have a stricter policy that during the the show the bouncers are more vigilant and stricter when it comes to large parties. Frog and bucket take deposits from large parties for this reason. Ruined the night as wasn't anywhere to move too.
A.
I was impressed with my entire experience here! We had a meal first and it was pretty good, even better were there acts that came up. I'm not entirely sure what I was expecting as it was my first time there, but everything was great. From the food, to the service, to the host and the acts, all were brilliant.
Of course, if you go on a night when the acts aren't that great you may be disappointed, but I would still recommend it for a great night out

We really enjoyed ourselves here - it really does what it says on the tin. There is a bar, and you can take your drinks into the performance area. You can order bar food like nachos and burgers - which are all sensibly priced. There is also a restaurant area where you can go all out and have a sit down meal which you can combine with a VIP experience (reserved seats, and being picked on by the comedians etc).

Good venue, located under railway arches. Pleasant looking place, small stage, lots of seats and good acoustics. No real ales, only lager and Guinness (£4.90 pint). Home cooked pizza (£9.50). Busy place, spiral staircase to the basement toilets, unfortunately for the ladies they had a long queue. Generally good quality comedy here and the staff were friendly.

Some good acts, and a real good laugh. Though didn't like:
- formal theater style seating.
- many audience facing glaring/distracting night safety lights left on/too bright whilst the acts were on.
- formal two different sittings/timings.... all in /out aka fast buck production line.
- up and down stairs for the bar
- quite a hike for the toilets.... up/down stairs again, long queues.
- too many noisy parties.
- overpriced
Don't go if you're expecting a full evening of entertainment sat at relaxed tables.

The compare was very funny tonight, the first act I didn't laugh at once but the 2nd act was funny and the 3rd was by far the best of the night, he had the whole room laughing. The 4th act was really good as well and so was the final one...
All in all a nice night out with the lads for a birthday
B. L.
The layout of the Comedy Store is great. Been several times for various different performers. Even had their food package a few times. The restaurant are they serve this in is downstairs and it is a little intrusive as the route to the toilets runs right through it. Food is good and not too expensive.
L. H.
Been here a few times now for various shows/events. The venue's great, very personal and intimate. Food and drink are excellent - they've wisely got fresh pizza being made onsite which is a huge bonus. Drinks were reasonably priced and the location is excellent to carry on the night after your show has finished.

Brilliant night out and great comedy on show 5⭐
J. W.
Absolutely Fantastic. Went on Fri eve: MC Steve Harris, Carey Marx, Adam Rowe, Eleanor Tiernan and Larry Dean.
All first class, didn'tstop laughing from start to finish.
Good service, great venue, brilliant!
Definitely going again!
T. A.
Always a brilliant atmosphere! The Comedy Store's tiered main room is large enough to generate a great atmosphere but not so big that the gig doesn't feel intimate. The drinks are reasonably priced although the barman that I was served by persistently only filled my G&T glass up about 3/4 for some reason - he begrudgingly topped it up when asked.
My other slight criticism is the heavy bouncer presence during the show. Whilst on a busy Friday night I completely understand the need for bouncers to be keeping an eye on proceedings, there was always at least one in the corner of your eye on their phone or radio, or pacing around for no apparent reason - it was a little distracting.
E. S.
I've been here a few times to see drag queen shows and while I feel the venue can seem a bit small for these kind of shows, it does mean it's that bit more intimate and you get a really good view wherever you're sat. Tickets are reasonably priced, as well as the pizzas which are very tasty 😊 Handy for public transport too with train and tram stations right nearby.
C. A.
Amazing venue and a truly exceptional night out!!
K. B.
Been once so far, it was a great night out. The comedians were top notch, but the evenings MC was hilarious. There's a bar, but try not to drink whilst watching the show, the people in front won't appreciate being showered in Prosecco or lager... Maybe take an umbrella?
R. S.

Went last month and absolutely loved the acts, very funny and the drinks at the bar were good, I liked that you could buy pitchers so you didn't have to keep leaving your seat, and works better if you are sharing!
Only thing that let it down was the lack of organisation, everyone was crammed into a room whilst we were waiting and there was a bit of a crush as people were closing in on the doors, would have been very easy for someone to fall or drop drinks!
Luckily the acts were fantastic to make up for it!
Thanks for a great night :)
D. B.
This is one of my favourite nights out. You can have a drink, have something to eat if you choose (can't comment on the food as I have never eaten here but it is always busy in the restaurant part and at the pizza servery so I assume it must be good) and you also have quality entertainment. Just down the stairs from Deansgate and Castlefield tram stop means it couldn't be easier to get to either.
N. N.
Excellent value entertainment. We went on the first Sunday of the month King Dong night whereby newby comedians are hooked off if unsatisfactory. Compere was first class as were a lot of the acts - the failures added to the event. Don't be late to your seat or you may regret it.
H. B.
Second time here and just as great as the first. Had food to begin with, wasn't as good as the first time round but still not to bad for the price we paid. The staff are excellent, down to earth, non pretentious which goes perfect with the rest of the vibe you get from this place. We were there to see the noise next door who were again brilliant. A superb night out in Manchester here.
L. L.
A well oiled machine ... Staff are on the ball, and everything runs smoothly from arrival, to cooking you a quick pizza, through to showing you into the auditorium. Comedians were actually really funny too. Chairs were comfy also. I guess the only downside is the drunk idiots that feel the need to drink, drink and drink all night. So they get louder as the night goes on. But I'm sure the staff are used to that, unfortunately
H. P.
We visited on Thursday night.
Our ticket cost £18 for food and comedy which seemed like a really good deal, the food was good but the best comedian of the night was the compare- so i'm not really sure that's a good sign.
We still had a fun night but it wasn't rib cracking funny.
S.
The staff were wonderfully helpful and friendly, it's really relaxed and the seats are comfy. It's got good transport links and we really enjoyed the show. Definitely going again!
S.
Great selection of live acts, considering I have a difficult sense of humour all acts didn't fail to amuse. Good selection of drinks on offer between breaks. Excellent value for money would highly recommend.
J. C.
Came here for the first time on Saturday with a group of friends. I was a little cynical beforehand about the level of comedy we were going to see, but it was enjoyable; each of the four comedians made me laugh more than I'd expected to. Still, £25 for two hours seems a bit steep, but I wouldn't say no to doing it again. I loved that pizza was being served and we were allowed to bring it in with us (even if I didn't have one!), although it would be nice if lighter/smaller snacks were available behind the bar also. I only had a water, so I can't comment on the drinks or prices, but I heard no complaints from my friends about their booze. The bar staff seemed very friendly, too. My only real grievance would be that we were seated near someone who talked loudly and seemingly non-stop throughout the first half and the man at the door kept looking in their direction, but no action was taken (that I saw). He did approach at least a couple of people in the second half, which was good, but I missed quite a few lines in the first part of the show. Overall, though, it was a good night and the venue was more than decent. A photographer who presumably works for The Comedy Store took a group photograph of us afterwards and had key-rings made for us, which was awesome (£3.50, I think, which I was happy with) - a great reminder of the night (thanks!). (Would be lovely if they posted the photographs on their Facebook page like other venues do so that we could see a bigger version.)
C. S.
Went to the Saturday night performance. At £22 it's a little pricey but there are much more affordable performances in the week. The comedians were fairly good - the compere was amazing, really great at working the crowd and the second performer was especially funny. Layout is great so that everyone can hear and see well (and get ridiculed by the comedians). The only thing I can fault is having to visit Deansgate locks on a Saturday night to get there.
J. A.
Class place. Good atmosphere. Staff are so attentive. I had chilli con carne on nachos OH MY WORD...was delish! And to top it off the comedians were brilliant. Top night.
J. G.
Been here 3 times and each time has been excellent. Staff have all been fine, don't know what others are talking about, and all 3 times I've gone I've had a funny and memorable night. Would definitely recommend.
Y. Q.
Had a lovely time here. My first comedy show..had a great laugh with all my friends. Dragged out a little towards the end but maybe we were just tired! Would definitely recommend it. Be aware - long queue to get in even in you've booked in advance!
Y.
Went on a sunday night recently, had a terrific night. The comedy line up was palatable and the host was exceptionally funny. The beverage selection is horrendous in terms of beer. I recommend going over to Knott Bar first for a proper drink and have yourself an overpriced soft drink rather than an overpriced larger, unless you like middle-of-the-road larger.
A. n.
I went to the Comedy Store during my holidays in Manchester. I booked the tickets online in advance when I was still in another country and had no problems whatsoever with picking them up or payments or my foreign student ID. The show was hilarious, I just had a few difficulties following one guy with a distict northern accent, be aware of that! Other than that, great place, fantastic entertainment, would definitely do it again.
S. S.
Was my first visit to Manchester and also the comedy store. We decided to take advantage of the deal to book a reserved seat and eat at the venue before the show. The food was really good actually, better then I would have expected for this kind of venue if you can understand that. The show was good as well just the right length and not to short or two long. Will definitely think about returning again in the future, a well recommended start to the evening.
P. &. J. X.
Thanks comedy store, we had a great night, all the staff were very polite, happy and helpful, the food and drink are of good standard and not too expensive.
We were crying with laughter, all the acts and the host were very funny, great work guys and girls👍
N. H.
Up here for the weekend and my first time to the club. A brutal evening of comedy on gong night where the stand-ups get red carded if they don't cut it. The compere was excellent. Hats off to everyone that gave it a go tonight.
T. Å. L.
This is the place to go to if you want a good laugh. The Comedians were great!
K. C.
Visited Manchester especially for the comedy store. It did not disappoint thats for sure. All the acts were amazing and staff so helpful. You can't help the drunken idiots how shout out but they were made a joke of and staff warned them about their behaviour.
K. B.
We had prepaid and pre-booked meal, with reserved seating, for a group of 14, but unfortunately due to train cancellations 5 of our party couldn't make it. The Comedy Store offered a voucher for the unused places last minute. We weren't expecting this and we very pleased so receive it.
Good food, excellent staff and stellar performances by the acts.
D. R.
Sunday evening performances are excellent. Have been to the New Stuff and New Comedians. Both are very entertaining and we'll worth supporting these brave individuals who have the courage to try out their new material on an unknown audience!
j. p.
Saw Marlon, Sarah, and forgot the Irish and new Zealand fellas names as I was on the amstel. Beers are around 4 quid which is pretty standard but god damn are the acts funny especially the warm up fella with the grey beard and heckling skills. Went for a 21st not expecting too much but very happy we came out. Highly recommend!
R. B.
Compare was great,
Pizza was fantastic.
Very disorganised on the bar.
2 comedians were ok.
One was very funny.
Coyote ugly is next door, a great way to warm up for the show.
We're going again soon.
E. b. S.
Nice good comedians though I think the standard could be a lot higher
Went there for breakfast years eve and the last guys were rubbish in my opinion. Very amateur and you dont want to pay£35 fir a show not up to professional standard and just manage the mona lisa smile lol. Come on guys next new years bring some new talents!
B. H.
5* I was visiting my son. Went here on a Sunday night when they have comedians either trying out new material & new comedians. About 9-11 comedians 10-15min slots, 1 compare & good variety, there's always 1-2 you're not keen on, but that can happen anywhere. Not packed, turned up, didn't pre book. Can't remember if you can book, every other Sunday but phone & check. Best bit.... £5! My son was sceptical but he had great time, now won't go on a Saturday! Good for a date night. Being picky, lack of leg room in the stalls & drinks bit dearer, but that's to be expected. Difficult to park on roads nearby & meters, but there is a multistory car park. May be public transport is best if going on a busy night. Disabled bays x2 outside.
E. S.
Brilliant night...only paid £5 each on the Sunday show, so I wasn't expecting it to be half as good as it was. All six acts were good and the compere was absolutely hilarious with the audience banter. Well done everyone! :)
C. P.
I had a wonderful evening at the comedy store. The five comedians were very good. The host immediately provided a good atmosphere. If you want to laugh, you have to go here.
T. L.
The staff were helpful it was easy to get s drink quite pricey but worth it. The comedians we saw were so funny. A good night.
M. P.
I've been to the Comedy Store many times for the adult shows and never been disappointed but last Saturday we went to the Comedy Store for Kids. Can't recommend it enough. Our kids loved it and at £3 for kids and a fiver for adults for an hour and a half of entertainment it's a cheap afternoon out.
S.
Always a good laugh... pun intended... shame that they take forever to throw out the drunken women that were ruining the show by shouting abuse, not funny abuse, just sexist abuse at the comedian. Other than that I enjoy going, wish there was a quicker/better snack option though
B.
I've been twice now. We did enjoy both times. 3 acts on each occasion. Only giving three stars because on both occasions one of the acts was the same and delivered the same set - so this was rather tedious. But range of other comics was great - all other acts very different.
T. B.
Great comics and intimate feel to the whole place. Staff are helpful and friendly, bar is nothing exciting but that's not the point of being there, although I don't think anyone told the clientele that. Get there early if you want good seats, and sit on the front row if you want to be picked on.
k. D.
Brilliant night...a nice pre show meal...nothing too fancy but good value. There were 5 comedians performing from about 8pm. Obviously they had different styles that different folkes will like. Thought they were all brilliant. Staff were helpful and a good time was had xD
W. L.
I've visited The Comedy Store on several occasions for various events, and have always been happy with the atmosphere and service we've received. Even when it's very busy, I've never had to wait long at the bar to be served, and the staff are always polite and friendly.
M. A.
Good show and good facilities. The auditorium was getting extremely warm towards the end of the show, despite the cold December evening. Probably one to miss in the height of summer.
V. M.
We attended the comedy store tonight for the recording of joe lycetts radio 4 show. The whole process went smoothly, we was on the side at the back but could still see the stage clearly, seats were comfy and despite the hot humid weather outside it wasn't like that inside. The only down side would be the noise from the constant trams overhead
I. M.
Everything about this place is fabulous. Never laughed so much in years and the acts are so varied. An excellent night in a great spot and I'll keep coming back.
B. R.
FANTASTIC!!!-been once before in London about 20 yrs ago.The compere was great as were the 4 comedians-although we enjoyed the 1st 3 the best. The room was comfortable and had a lovely atmosphere. We laughed at most of the jokes-but couldn't remember them when we came out!-I guess we'll have to come back again.
E. B.
Well organised. Great atmosphere. Went to watch our favourite person (Alex Horne) on a whim as we didn't know he was there until last minute. Rang up to book tickets and the staff were helpful and friendly. Easy to organise and to get there. Book signing afterwards followed well too
D. C.
A brilliant night out for anyone tired of just sitting in the pub listening to their mates trying to be funny.
Obviously it depends on how good the acts are but on a Saturday night with 4 acts plus a compere it's hard not to find someone who doesn't crack you up.
M. F.
Always an amazing night here.
Last time we had a girl who wanted to make a show of herself in the audience. The comic handled it and her very well. Will be again soon.
P. L.
This place is fantastic for a night out with friends or even on your own. Big names often call here (we've seen the likes of Rhod Gilbert, Michael McIntyre, Jim Jefferies...) but by and large you'll find names who are well known on the comedy circuit, although keep your eye on the venue website to see who is coming. When you enter you're in a long bar area, then the auditorium is to the left. It's a free seating area so you can sit where you like, and the views of the stage are good, although if you sit at the sides you may find the wings of the tiny stage intrude a little. There is also a downstairs area where shows are held on quieter nights, and sometimes live bands play down there too. It's a good place to go for a cheap and thoroughly enjoyable night out.
P.
WOW!!! My first visit and I already planned couple more 😁 it's 2 hours drive each way for me but still worth it. Simply, must see. Great venue, great people and very reasonable prices.
K. D.
This was first time and overall I enjoyed it, although the comics weren't particularly funny - perhaps because they were trialling new material. I thought it was good value, good facilities and the MC was pretty good.
Would certainly go again.
P. d. S. C.
Always love taking my fiancée here for the Friday or Saturday shows. The auditorium has a fantastic atmosphere.
The only downside (and call me a cheapskate) is the price.
K. C.
Was a birthday present to my brother (50th). Took him, his wife and me and my wife. Not been before - we were looked after from the start to the end - we had the pizza and prosecco at half time deal.
We would go again and have already recommended to friends and family.
A seriously good night out!
M. C.
Very nice show to start the weekend! You can eat and drink, the staff is very friendly and the comedians are awesome. I'd gladly go back!
S. C.
Went on a Saturday night a few weeks ago. It was OK, lots of other people laughed but it wasn't for me. Must be getting miserable in my old age! Great setting but in no rush to go back.
W. P.
Had a cracking evening as per usual. Even if you've never heard of the acts it's normally worth checking out ticket prices are reasonable. Cheapest bar on deansgate locks. But go for a couple first 😁
C. B.
Even for a Norwegian, this was fun! Online booking was ok, but a bit surprising the boxoffice had a note on the wall to hand out our bracelets. A bit crowded before the doors opened, but spacious when let in. A good night out!
D. H.
I went to King Gong on a first date and sat in the allocated seats at the front. The compere was hilarious and got the audience involved. As it was an open mic night, there were about 20 comics on stage and there was the option for people in the audience to have a go. Some of the comics were amazing! There were some awkward jokes at times but these were made funnier by the resulting comments made by the compere and members of the audience. From start to finish, it was an amazing night and both my date and I had a great laugh. I would recommend it to anyone.
a. m.
Nice location, venue is nice, good drinks, good laugh! Night to repeat
F. B.
Went on Friday with 9 pals for a birthday bash.
More fun than a restaurant night out.
Cheaper than a restaurant night out.
Ace pizza to soak up the beer that was always served quickly and with a smile.
Definitely going again.
Nathan Caton is a comic to watch.
D. C.
Always a good night out. You never know how the acts and audience are going to bounce off each other. Sometimes the drunks can add to the fun sometimes they kill the mood. All part of the experience.
C. W.
Can to the kids comedy show for.my daughter's birthday with a group of her friends. They loved the show and we will be coming back another time. Looking forward to coming to one of the normal shows.
J. S.
Great evening out for my mrs's birthday (Fri 6th sept) . Comfortable seats, friendly staff and big pitchers of ale to save your legs to keep going back the bar ... The comedians were great from start to finish and the host John Fothergill was amazing and kept it flowing (very good at roasting any1 who went toilet so be warned if you have weak bladder lol ..)
Over all 5stars from me and we'll be making it an annual birthday getaway ..
D. E.
Was a little apprehensive but I laughed throughout the Friday night set. Beers were well kept although it's a bit disappointing spending so much to be served in a plastic glass.
S. A.
Loved our night at The Comedy Store. We paid £35 for hot buffet before the show, then a private bar and balcony seats, great night!
A. A. G.
Love going into Manchester with the misses 4 food! As if you couldn't guess🙄🤣 we always book the later show at 9.30 it's a little better and some of the comedians get a little blue or riskye, you get a compare and usually 4 but sometimes 5 comedians on always finishes 4 twelve and always ample taxis outside,so what you doing reading this, get booking a meal and a few tickets here smiling and laughter releases endorphins in the brain it's good 4 u!
B. B.
Always a great atmosphere andgreat times had here.
Various line ups throughout the year so you get to see some new and seasoned comics on the international circuit.
Food and drinks served to you can grab a bite, have some drinks and head in for the show.
Located on Manchester's Deansgate so handy for an evening after shopping or dining in the city.
m.
I had a great evening tonight for my birthday. I would definitely recommend. The place wasn't intimidating and is well located. The acts were great too.
C. W.
Great service at the bar, and a wonderful, well kept venue. The show was awesome with 4 great acts from the UK and Canada. We really enjoyed our night there.
O. F.
There's always a good range of comedians at the comedy store - someone for everyone. The drinks are fairly priced for the city centre. They do food too, but haven't tried it yet.
l. t.
Love it here.... only go front row if you want a roasting or can actually take a joke haha will be back again and again as usual especially when Tom stade is there ... he's hilarious
G. S.
Good comfortable venue. The bar is pitched at students. Some of the comedians were better than others. Paul Sinha from the Chase is very funny.
L.
Good venue, and a decent sized space for the show. Plenty of drink choices upstairs, and a good atmosphere. The seats are a little tight for bigger people though!
K. B.
Absolutely amazing comedy, as a student I only paid £3 and was worth every penny. Best £3 I've spent (it usually is more, only one night a month is it that price).
B. W.
Amazing venue. Super busy but with good reason
P. D.
The Comedy Store is always a laugh. Reasonably priced tickets for an intimate venue. The food served in the restaurant is decent, and removes the hassle and stress of finding a pre-show meal elsewhere.
M. E.
Great comedy acts - especially Jo Caulfield. Venue itself is big and not as atmospheric as some smaller venues, but overall a good night out!
A.
Fantastic stand-up comedy show, nothing held back and was a great reminder of exactly why we have and use satire in this country. Certainly more than enough to mock at the moment...!! Will be back one day.
M. R.
I always enjoy the comedy store. A varied talent range but a very relaxing night out with friends. An intimate venue where every seat is within touching distance of the stage.
M. W.
Good venue, great comedy. Kind of ruined by a crowd of 20 very drunk guys. The management did not do enough to sort them out. Shame!
j. b. (. J. b.
Brilliant place for comedy, best in the area. Always a fun night out. Good selection of drinks and great pizza. Definitely recommend if you want comedy. Recommend booking in advance.
C. G.
Very funny and well worth the money. Drinks inside are the same price as locally so no complaints at all. Been twice to the one in Manchester and many times to the one in London and never disappointed.
C. M.
Good sized theatre. Large bar area.
S. G.
Odd venue with great comedy. Sometimes can feel like a corridor with seats but that does mean if you're in front of the stage you are a prime target. Bar above is sparse. Food adequate.
P. H.
Small stag do, perfect venue for food and laughs on a Saturday evening. John Fothergill as MC was pretty good but the stand out one of them all was Addy Van Der Borgh.
J. M.
Funny acts, bar service is generally pretty fast (been a number of times, only had a long wait once). Can order pizza for the intervals and it's decent.
m.
It was a nice place to go for a stand-up comedy. The scene is downstairs and you got a huge bar where you can sit or get a drink before the show.
P. S.
Loved the comedy store ? Ordered beef bergeinon pie with chips and vegetable which was lovely and then into the club. The comedians were very funny and the female compare was brilliant.
G. W.
Great place to go. Always funny, usually busy and the pizzas aren't bad either. On the downside the drinks pretty expensive, expecially after you've paid to see the show.
P. H.
Absolutely perfect night. Big advantage that they had comedists from outside Manchester (London and Canada), so not being able to comprehend the local accent wasn't a major drawback.
T. A.
I do enjoy the comedy club. The food is not up to much, the pizzas are paper-thin which. They serve drinks. The comedy is good, some great comedians, some good comedians, and some fewer comedians!
N. W.
Good comedy, lovely venue. Really wierd tho - they allow people to come and go during the performances. It was quite off putting. But anyway, good place, good comedy, will always go back.
I. R.
Good night. I particularly enjoy the new material Sunday night shows. Can see some great acts for a bargain and it feels like you're contributing to the show.
D. S.
Brilliant night out.
The comedians were very good. The venue friendly and I had a great night.
T. Z.
Epic night, and the comedians were so talented
I had been meaning to come here for so long and had my doubts, but it was totally worth it
Highly recommended and I will be back
m.
Great night, 4 comedians and a compare. Nice Venu, reasonable prices I didn't eat in there but it looked nice. Maybe next time 😊
S. R.
Really enjoyed our night out at the Comedy Store. Excellent range of comedians when we visited. Food looked excellent and the drinks were not too expensive
A. G.
Seems very well organised. Toilets seem able to cope with a nearly full lower auditorium, though I suspect there will be queues if they full the place, it was just starting to be a problem with the lower floor nearly full.
D. D. (. C.
I really had a great time in there and I cannot wait for the next event! The staff is really polite and well organised and the structure itself is made in the a way to host the best experience ever...
A. B.
What an amazing experience! Highly recommended, can't wait to come back
C. T.
Great night. Good value for money. Wish the times were more accurate as had train to catch so had to leave earlier than expected. Highly recommended
D. J.
Fantastic night. Meal followed by show. Great way of spending an evening. Haven't laughed so much in a long time.
C. J.
Second visit is as many years, will be back! Great atmosphere, great comedians! Compare looked like my God father which made me smile.
S. H. (. b.
Me and my group of friends had a brilliant Saturday night at the comedy store the comedians and the compare, where very good and had us all laughing for the whole show
;-)
B. B.
Visited for BBC comedy competition. Very good value (ie free..) - but planning to return as paying customer. Good atmosphere. Food looks ok'ish.
L. G.
Great comedy venue that has some great performers. Enjoy the theatre style comedy venue downstairs which separates it from the cool bar area upstairs. Always have a great experience when I visit.
G. T.
Good venue, saw the BBC new comedy awards there so not a typical comedy store night. Decent bar, good seating and a nice atmosphere
S. R.
Had a great time seeing five different comedy acts, they were great and very entertaining. Ripped the audience to shreds!! Everything was fair game
B. A.
A great night put, quick bar service and and always a good show. Even the up and coming comedians put on a brilliant show. Been loads and never left disappointed
Z. U.
Great place. Hilarious acts. Food was ok but arrived about 5 minutes before we had to go into the gig!
P. A.
We had a good night here, went for the A La Carte option and the food plus service was very good. Didn't like the fact that during the interval of the 1st show people where queuing for the loo between the tables whilst we where eating.
r. c.
What a fantastic night out all the comedians were top notch and we will be coming again.
well done to you all at the Comedy Store, Manchester
bring on our next visit.
J. K.
I had no idea who the comedians were when I bought my tickets, but despite that - they were fantastic. The Comedy Store never fails to deliver a fantastic, entertaining evening. I'll be back, time and again.
J.
Really enjoyed the evening here and would recommend it to anyone. Staff were brilliant and the entertainment was marvellous, I will be returning soon!
D. C.
Fantastic staff looked after me and my disabled partner brilliantly thanks guys
R. S.
Been here several times and always have a wonderful night out! Reasonable value, great location and decent selection of food and drink!
J. H.
Had an amazing night watching the radio 4 comedy awards . Great venue, friendly bar staff and top quality comedy
A. S.
Fantastic venue. Near public transport great bar with plenty staff serving and seating was good. Like the London venue but better and the acts were enjoyable
I. A.
Very good experience and great show
L. D.
Go here on a Sunday for comedians showing their new material at a fraction of the cost of a Friday night show. The material's a bit rough around the edges but you feel like your laughs, or lack thereof, help the comedians.
C. s.
Hilarious, well worth a visit, great addition to our evening we could not stop laughing amazing place i would definatley go again!
M. P.
Brilliant night out. Great venue and acts that make you leave with a smile on your face!
G. S.
a wonderful night out with a variety of comedians catering for a range of tastes.
had a lovely meal and looked after our party really well.
m. a.
Went for my brothers stag do, was a really good night out, recommend for anyone who is up for a good laugh! Also recommend eating there too!
i. c.
Fantastic venue, great pizza. Auditorium seats are a bit snug for those of us with a broader backside after enjoying the pre show pizza
J. P. H.
Amazing night here. I went for my birthday and it didn't disappoint. Such a great night, you get your monies worth.
K. P.
The acts were very funny. There was a heckler in the crowd and it was handled by the comedians very well so it didn't ruin the enjoyment of the rest of us.
A. D.
I came here last year as part of the comedians practice nights, where they would try a bit of new material, despite being a bit rough around the edges the guys (and gals!) where hilarious, with plenty of banter with the audience, a really enjoyable night.
M. B.
Loved it, really great night and all the acts were hilarious. Will be doing it again for sure.
A. B.
Always a good venue for entertainment. If you want a laugh, no better place. The food ain't bad either. 😊
D. W.
Decent comedy, not really a range of comedy on display. Price is a bit much for what's on display but a nice venue with reasonably priced drinks on offer.
C. H.
We had a meal and the show which both were excellent. The only disappointing thing was that when paying for our sweet and drinks a tip was already added to the bill.
A. P.
Great comedy club. I have never tried the food but the venue is good. Small enough to feel cozy but also sizable for some mid-tier acts.
A. S.
Excellent evening out, great comedy. Beer available during the show and good food all reasonably priced.
J. L.
A great night out. Not compulsory but you can eat there before the performance starts. The food was delicious and I would eat there again.
I. M.
Great venue, food surprisingly good too!
A. W.
The price can be a little on the high side, but the acts here are second to none. Great atmosphere and worth visiting when the wallet can stretch.
G. P.
Great atmosphere. Very funny acts. Highly recommended for a fun night out
h. r.
great night second time visiting this venue had a bar meal and the staff were very friendly and very helpful i booked earlier in the day and had no trouble at all when we arrived our table was waiting for us. thankyou comedy store we will be back.
y. g.
A place for fun, but don't sit in the front row.
S. S.
Outstanding night , very funny and great venue. Food was good and drinks were well prices :)
C. C.
Outstanding but toilets miles away and bar downstairs wont serve you unless you wat down there. Upstairs bar and toilets mega busy during interval 😫
M. H.
It will depend on who is on of course but treated like adults and allowed bottle tops and real glass in the auditorium..... Beware hecklers who seek to takeover the show!
A. B.
Went for the new stuff night. Advertised as established acts trying new material or new acts to the venue. Told of a special guest and it was John Bishop. Could not of got much luckier.
G. E.
Brilliant night comedians were very funny. Food was excellent too. Will be going back very soon.
B. L.
Brilliant comedy on stage. Ordered some food before the show that was ok but I felt was a little steep in price considering what was served.
T. R.
Great little venue... great for a date or taking friends.. cheap Sunday tickets as well
J. F.
Seen 4 acts.plus compare they were mint all dead funny.plus had a meal there. It was lovely.thank u
Great night
P. B.
A really coll place - the comedians are really funny. The seating is really comfortable, and plenty of leg room. Highly recommend a visit here
J. D.
There's a good night to be had here. Intimate venue with separate bar area. Difficult to he served at the bar as a rush at interval times.
S. T.
Went to watch then record the BBC radio 4 comedy awards here.. Very organised place, funny too... Which is good, as that was the point!
R. C.
Only been to this place for conferences and it is a nice and cozy venue. Only issue is that if you're sitting at the sides, the presentation can be hard to view. Top venue otherwise!
D. H.
Absolutely superb evening. Very funny acts that just got better and better. Will definitely be returning in the future.
A. C.
Located in the Arches at the very popular Deansgate locks in central Manchester the Comedy Store is your best chance of finding some great live comedy almost any night of the week.
O.
Great entertainment, super busy, so book in advance and arrive early. Good for groups, stags, couples etc.
P. W.
Viewed half a show here on Friday 5th was brilliant. Great atmosphere. Really enjoyed it and would recommend it to everyone.
E. F.
Amazing venue for our youth event !
J. C.
Really good... the four acts, Irish guy, Yorkshire guy with guitar, Nigerian guy and Cockeyney guy were amazing!
S. H.
First time visit here. Good venue for stand up but needs more staff as it was very busy with nothing to say what was going on or where to queue.
C. T.
Awesome comedy show, the best I've seen. Some good beers. Nice ambience as well along the canal
A. D.
We had an impromptu date night and just had so much fun here. I definitely recommend "The best in stand up".
C. S.
Attending shake with laughter for parkinsons, great line up, mc is very funny, event was good, my second time in comedy store, I will visit again.
R. G.
Brilliant night of comedy with the host getting the audience in the mood and a great line up of comedians. Can't wait to visit again
S. P.
Brilliant night. Enjoyed every comedian. All in all a great night in The Comedy Store Manchester. Highly recommended.
M. C.
Was expecting the drinks to be really expensive but they were reasonably cheap(we went new years eve) and was just a brilliant night.
A. K.
If you have never been you should consider going such great entertainment... I will not be disappointed
L. C.
The club is very glossy and the show is attractive. However I won't repeat going there because the humor itself was a little bit stereotypical.
I. F.
Superb night out even though it was a Thursday. Jonny Vegas was unbilled but did 45 minutes! Unexpected and funny for a February night.
J. C.
Brilliant night's entertainment shame some audience members kept getting up and disturbing the acts and others talking loudly all the way through the second half
T. M.
So good and you never know who will show up are special guest tonight was Russel Kane
L. S.
Great place ,they have a pretty large theatre so you don't feel stuffy. I only wish they sold nibbles like nuts or popcorn instead of just pizzas
A. N.
Great location, great acts and the food that we had before the show was surprisingly good!
K. L.
Had staff conference and it was brilliant! Lovely cosy place with comfortable seats and plenty of room.
Recommend ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
D. W.
Brilliant food wide selection drinks, acts were brilliant. Top night
S. S.
As everybody else has said good venue good shows able to see and hear very well could do with a bit more heating
G. M.
Open mic night. Excellent entertainment and superb atmosphere. I will definitely go back.
J. F.
The comedians were hilarious. Great food at reasonable prices. Staff were good
N. B.
Never been to one of these before and omg we were not disappointed, never belly laughed so much! Brilliant line up, will defo be back again!
M. H.
I have been here three times now and loved each visit, a few comedians I have never heard of and were very good.
J. G.
Really enjoyed our work night out. The show was fantastic.
S. V.
Very nice place, gong-based stand up comedy that was very funny ! Drinks are reasonable as well
M. C.
Great night, nice venue. Bit of a queue for the bar during the interval but that's to be expected.
C. M.
The comedy was brilliant, we where sat on the higher tier as we arrived late and there was allot of disruption, the people where eventually removed but they did have an effect on a chunk of the night
S. 1.
Amazing atmosphere and comedy, good prices on both drinks and food. The comedy keeps changing so mostly always different each week
P. P.
Excellent night out, been a fee times now and can't wait to return. Food is also good and reasonable price.
P. G.
First time I've been. Very good, though the queue at the bar during the interval was immense.
S. F.
Really good night. Good show on a Saturday night. Worth the money, would go back.
A. P.
Top quality entertainment. Great to have one in the north, as the London venue is so good. Clean, cosy and good prices for a great evening
K. G.
Another great night where all 5 acts were top notch. The speed with which these guys can react with the audience is superb.
P. F.
Comedians were excellent. We all really enjoyed the show. food was fine, if a little bland.
C. M.
We took the kids to the Christmas show, really good we all enjoyed it. Would recommend
c. j.
Great little venue, not over priced at the bar. Loved it
H. B.
Great night out in a really nice atmosphere. Don't be late or you get roasted by the MC 😂
N. P. W.
Soooo funny with good food.
Recommend buying bottles as draft beer wasn't the best hence the 4 star!
S. W.
Good sized room and great atmosphere. Bouncers were a little obnoxious, pacing up and down, over-policing the audience.
p. d.
Fantastic food, comedy and beer. I brought a stag do here last Friday. Brilliant start to a great weekend.
P. W.
A fantastic night out and great value
A. W.
Great night out. Good range of comedians and never waited too long for a drink
T. K.
Great location, cheap prices, the pizzas are really tasty, freshly made and good value... Sunday nights are crazy cheap and a good laugh!
L. T.
Was one of the best nights out, staff are great an the comics made us cry with laughter
S. M.
Depends on the comedians you're going to see but the venue is good enough. The drinks are expensive as you might expect.
C. L.

Random acts, loads of variety, some not the best others leave you in stitches. Wonderful night out and great venue
S. C.
Nice venue, and decent acts depending on the evening. Absolutely would go again.
K. F.
Brilliant night out, worth every penny, if I had to put a negative the bar staff are very slow in the interval
M. P.
A nice experience if you're just looking to go out and have a laugh with your friends. Slightly expensive drinks but worth it for the acts
C. D. S.
Had an amazing event there. Staff were very kind and helpful
Definitely recommend!!
P. A.

J. B.
Brilliant!!!!!!
Staff were amazing and food top class.
Great night out from start to finish..
5 stars.
S. R.
Gong show on the first Sunday of every month. Some of it's good, some of it's cringey. Ticket and pizza for £7 is superb
T. H.
Always a good night out at a reasonable price - mixed bag sometimes but always one or two comics well worth seeing :-)
C. R.
Great food, great atmosphere, great night out. Comedians were brilliant.
M. G.

P. O.
Great venue and great humour! Food is lovely and well! Definitely recommend!
J. D.
Good location, only downfall is that there isn't enough staff behind the bar as it was a 20 min wait for service
S.
Great comedy! Had me in stitches all night!
Really close.to train station also which was great!
C. C.
Great night out, a fantastic night of comedy you simply cannot miss!
S. N.

H. F.
Best night out I've had in years, 100% would recommend
V. C.
Great atmosphere and even better acts. Visited on the 25th may 2019.
R. G.
Brilliant comedy but sadly ruined by an ignorant security man who didn't stop people who were disruptive but had a go and upset some who weren't
t. g.
Loved it the female compare was amazing and the new guy with his pop up photo was great. Lovely staff.
s. f.
Fantastic night. Lots of laughs and great fun. Highly reccommended

P. F.
The new material night is brilliant! Great price and the opportunity to hear some real gems!
A. H.
It would have been 5 stars but the seats are to small and uncomfortable
M. B.
Great comedy club. Perhaps doesn't have the quirkiness of Frog and Bucket, but great acts and good location

Went to the King Gong night and it was brilliant, entertaining, funny, and different from other comedy nights I've been to
G. W.
Great venue with superb acts. Good selection of drinks
S. H.
Good acts but food left something to be desired. Choices were pizza or burger, went with the burger, not impressed.

Went to a new comers night and considering their lack of experience there was some too quality comedy on show
N. K.
It really does depend on which acts you get on the night. But good fun nonetheless.
P. W.
No matter who's on its always a good night. They do however need to shoot people dead on the spot who decide to use their phone or chat when an act is on
S. m.
