The is not only the first time I’ve been at ‘The Junction’, but also the first time I have properly heard music from ‘The Undercover Hippy’ band. The supporting act was Alex Hart. She was a young performer, and worked well both singing and playing the guitar with some songs using an electric guitar in the background. She certainly has a good voice, but I thought the majority of her songs were too similar and didn’t feel they were unique enough on their own. I like how they moved back and forth between simultaneously between songs from new and old albums. Songs that were played included Coming to Money Money Money, Long Way Down. However, songs from their newest album ‘Truth and Fiction’ included ‘So Undercover’ and ‘Nothing to Lose’. Their older album ‘Monkey Suit’ was also played, with songs like ‘Coming to Gambia’ being their opening tune for the whole performance. I have to admit I was surprised that the lead singer decided to go on a short political rant half way through, however I believe this was more to connect with the audience. The first song was good, and other solid songs followed. That being said, I didn’t find any of the songs to be excellent. Of course, this is due to my music taste, and I don’t think they are a kind of band I would see again. What I did see though is that their fans seem to both really like their music and see them perform.

I just love this place because it's a local gig venue, in a town where venues are shutting all the time. They have good events and the owner/manager seems nice. I will be frequenting this place for as long as I'm local and they have good bands playing.

A nice, friendly pub at the end of Mutley plain. Has been refurbished since I last visited and looks really good now. A wide selection of drinks are available at reasonable prices, and the bar staff are friendly and polite. Well worth a visit

Nice to have a music venue that haves some decide bands playing as there is not that many place left in plymouth, But it's a shame that they ram so many people in a such a small place when they do have bands playing and trying to get to the bar is a nightmare (good prices on a pint mind).

A really good venue for gigs! Played here a few months back and the sound on stage was okay. Off stage, the sound is decent aswell for such a tiny space. All the staff were really nice and friendly. Toilets were pretty dire though, but that's my only reason for giving it 4 stars instead of 5.

Small pub with a pool table. Standard drink selection and prices. Not sure if it does food. However, that is not the reason you go to the junction anyway. You visit because it regularly has live music acts playing and they tend to be pretty good. It can get a bit boisterous but it's a lot of fun too if you want to let your hair down for a few hours and practice some air guitar.

Been watching bands and gigging my own bands here for years. Thr big bands play Pavilions, the mid range play the Hub and everyone else plays the Junction. A proper pub with a great sound system so always going to be nice and loud. Say hi to Pikey behind the bar

Good god what a dive bar :D Love me a dirty metal bar with a good choice of Viking Mede, alto wine and of course pirate rum! Staff are fun, long haired and metal! The bar is convenient to a cash point if you are in need of cash but they take card so what does it matter... Yes it's a mess but you won't find a nicer place to drink where your not worried about getting your head kicked in!
