I love Glimpse Opticians as the glasses selection is more unique than the standard high street opticians. If you want something more interesting then this is the place to come. I purchased a pair of normal glasses and a pair of sunglasses and I'm extremely happy with both. The service from Matt was excellent and he took the time to make sure I was 100% happy with my purchase and trust me, I take a while when choosing new glasses. I'll be back when I'm looking to purchase my next pair. Thank you!!

Brilliant, friendly independent opticians with a really in-depth exam and stunning range of frames. I'm rubbish at choosing glasses, in the past always settling for 'they're not awful, so they'll do'. But Matt at Glimpse is like the Mr Ollivander of glasses. He knew just by looking at me the shapes, styles and colours that would suit me. I had a hard time choosing from his selection. I managed eventually and I've had my new glasses for a month now. I love them and had loads of compliments.

I had been looking for the perfect pair of glasses for some time and was becoming tired of visiting the same types generic spectacle retailers who were all offering the same types of frames. Then I visited Glimpse Opticians :-D The styles; unique, fashionable, unusual or quirky. The staff; fantastic, personable, helpful, understanding, easy going and not pushy. Just got back to work after a quick visit to Glimpse to repair my glasses after a lens popped out. I don't live in Birmingham so I'm not one of their customers, but they were very helpful, opening the shop a few minutes early when they saw me waiting in the cold outside, fixing my glasses so quickly (free of charge) that I was on my way even before their normal opening time. Very friendly, helpful people, nice shop in a pleasant and convenient location in central Birmingham. If I lived here, I'd be a regular customer!

The best optician in Birmingham. They saved my eyesight because another optician in Birmingham messed up my prescription and I could not even read for more than ten minutes and felt really sleepy whenever I wore glasses. Glimpse is extremely helpful and professional. They are very welcoming and very very helpful group of people. I remember them by name now. Shout out to Steph, Drew and Matt. Went for an eye test here for the first time today. The customer service was amazing. They really took their time to make sure everything was done properly and to a high standard. I'm a super indecisive person, but I had such great help choosing that I found the right specs for me, and another pair that I'm going to go back for at a later date. Highly recommend :)

Really amazing frames that I haven't seen anywhere else in or around Birmingham - the vinyl ones in particular are very interesting ( in a good way!). The shop itself is pretty cool and not like most opticians that l've visited (again in a good way) with a relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff who don't hassle you if you just want to have a look at what's there. Different and definitely worth a visit.

Having not had an eye test for 15+ years but realising that it was probably time I had another one, Matt and Steph looked after me impeccably. From an initial chat, to a thorough eye test and eventual selection of glasses, the whole experience has been thoroughly personable and professional. Glasses are on the higher end but are specifically selected from designers who take care with manufacture and who hand-make many of the items. Bought a pair of Lindberg varifocals. Loved them so much I bought a paid of Lindberg sunglasses too!

I first came across their beautiful store in Birmingham’s Great Western Arcade during a wander through town and was captivated from the get-go. An on-the-whim visit turned into the most exciting purchase of my soulmate in glasses form! After going to high street opticians for years I was so disappointed to have glasses that never reflected me, never had that unique style. It came to a head for me when I went to a high street chain and they were pushy and forceful trying to insist I buy glasses from them. Enter Steph at Glimpse opticians!... 1) service - I was able to browse and try on glasses, no pressure, no rush and Steph being a style guru guided me through what was right for me 2) range- the frames in this place are largely unique, some are even bespoke and there is something for everyone, including sunglasses and optical wear 3) technical knowledge- everything was explained to me clearly, technical jargon was broken down and I opted for great quality lenses through glimpse 4) problems- the high street optician was difficult with me and wouldn’t release my prescription and Steph guided me through the whole process and I got my prescription thanks to Steph Finally, I opted for Vinylize Brubeck glasses, the moment I left the store I felt special and en route to the office two people asked me where I got my glasses, even a bank teller asked lol! Overall, go here, they listen, they care and they will be make you feel a million dollars and ensure you look a million dollars too.

From start to finish Steph has been amazing! My initial visit to the shop was warm and welcoming allowing me to try multiple glasses on and some great recommendations from Steph. I cannot recommend this place highly enough! After being with a certain well-known high street optician for many years - at least twenty - I felt unimpressed at the selection of frames and lenses, and decided to check out Glimpse. I'm so happy I did! These lovely folk are all about the customer experience and will make you feel at ease right away. They are experts in getting the right frame for your prescription which is absolutely key! They didn't rush me or try and pressure me into moving on to their contact lens scheme, but as their prices are very similar to my old provider - and the Glimpse customer service is far superior - I swapped anyway. They don't try and up-sell things you simply don't need (as many other high street opticians do...), they make suggestions based on their expertise and your needs, and leave the rest to you. On top of this, I put my deposit for my glasses down in March just before everything shut down due to COVID but they still helped me from behind the scenes, with the business owner personally delivering my new glasses to my home (from a safe 2 metres distance, of course!) While I'm sure that's not usually part of his job, it shows their dedication to the customer, and you simply will not get this kind of service on the high street. Go to Glimpse, you will not regret it- everyone I have dealt with there is so helpful and lovely. Thank you team Glimpse!

OK so I could have gone to Specsavers or Boots but I wanted something a little more personal and some glasses that were just a bit different and Matt at Glimpse delivered on all levels. Doing anything during lockdown is pretty difficult but a phone call was all it took to book a very thorough and covid safe eye test followed by a browse of a great selection of frames from small independent manufacturers (they were all sterilised before and after). I think it's a mark of his honesty that Matt steered me towards the lower priced frames of the ones I had shortlisted - he felt they suited me best and TBH my better half agreed when she saw the pics. Good taste and honesty (Matt BTW). Bottom line - great service, thorough visual assessment and a superb selection of less mainstream glasses. I'm delighted and you'd be too if you visit.

Excellent to deal with. Zahra extremely helpful. I don't live near Birmingham so couldn't get to the store. I knew which Theo frame I wanted and Zahra kindly posted them to me. They fit beautifully as do all the Theo frames I own - they do brilliant designs. Thanks again for all your help. I went in yesterday to see if my sunglasses could be fixed. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. They carried out the repair in less than 15 minutes. I'll definitely be going back for eye tests and new sunglasses (once I lose my current ones)

I popped in to Glimpse last week for an eye test and some new glasses. I'm incredibly picky when it comes to glasses and usually find it difficult finding styles I like — I had the opposite experience in Glimpse, spoilt for choice and found it difficult narrowing down the options. Such a great selection with loads of amazing frames and some quite unusual more individual ones as well. Matt and the team are super friendly, helpful and knowledge and seemed to just 'get' what I was after. Lovely shop and very relaxing environment for an eye test — first time I've actually seen inside my eye balls too which was great! Highly recommended
