Bilal carried out a very thorough eye exam and took the time to give explanations to my questions with politeness and courtesy. He was very patient when I was getting confused or did not understand immediately. The same standards were followed up with Stephen who helped assist in deciding if I wanted to change to varifocals. Even after leaving the shop the same patience was exercised with answering questions by telephone. I never felt pushed into buying something, instead assisted into helping making the decisions that suited my lifestyle. Glad I made the decision to switch to an independent and agree with the good reviews here. Both Stephen and Bilal work well together as a team and provide excellent customer care.

Such a wonderful experience from start to finish! the staff are so helpful and professional and go that extra mile for their customers. Bilal the optician at Spex has carried out a very accurate eye test and also tested for macular degeneration. Michael now has great glasses with advanced lenses and can wear them comfortably all day. He will see Michael regularly to make sure he gets any treatment he needs. Excellent friendly local service from Spex!

made me feel at ease from the first appointment. To be honest a nice friendly atmosphere and when I first went to spex then had to go back the next day for further eye tests made me feel at ease again then discovered something when took photo at the back of my eyes which if I was still with my old optician I may never have known about. so thank I have had a great experience with would definitely recommend you and I am definitely come back to you again

My husband and I have just had our eyes tested and both needed new prescription glasses. Absolutely excellent service, Thorough examination which picked up something potentially serious in my eye. 100% professionalism, Bilal is a lovely person, very easy to talk to, who secured plenty of time for my eye examination so that nothing was rushed - the examination was very thorough and even my eye pressure was checked which has never happened before anywhere else! Thank you for taking time to adjust my glasses which would always slide off my nose, now they’re perfect and I’m no longer worried about pushing them back on all the time. Bilal also found time for me very soon after first asking about the appointment and thanks to that I’ll get my improved lenses in time for when my driving lessons begin! Couldn’t recommend enough xx

I hadn’t been to the opticians in a while after having a horrible experience at a larger chain. I was very nervous and a bit worried what the service would be like. The business is run by a lovely, knowledgeable couple that made me feel completely at ease. I was happy and welcomed for the entire visit and made to feel like they really cared about my health. My glasses are great value and I was offered much better quality lenses than I have ever had before. The entire time I was given lots of information about my eye health and how to care for them. Absolutely can’t recommend enough, will be sending my husband and friends to them as well!

Excellent place, service was second to none. I went to chain where they got everything wrong, I wish I had gone straight here. First appointment I got the correct alterations done and it looks like thanks to his knowledge, we may have caught glaucoma early on. Would certainly highly recommend booking an appointment here.

Went in today with my kids for a test with Bilal. Great experience for her first time. Hes good with kid.. Hes patient and gives clear instructions. I also went with my mum yesterday for her appointment and he ended up testing my eyes after i mentioned some trouble. Without an appointment. Good bit of banter too, which always helps. 1000% reccomended!
