My sister broke her only pair of glasses Wednesday night. She literally can't see a thing without her glasses. After calling Alan as a new customer Thursday morning we got an appointment for an eye test Thursday evening and picked her brand new glasses up Friday morning!!Amazing customer service..Alan was so kind helping us pick a new pair of glasses and worked so hard to have them ready at the soonest possible time. Would never go anywhere else!!Thank you so much Alan!! Absolute life saver 🥰

I rang Smithdown Eye care for an appointment as a new customer and being new to the area. All the previous reviews are spot on, this is a stellar opticians and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend. They managed to fit my appointment in quickly. Both members of staff I met were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. The eye tests themselves went well and all my questions were answered. I was given done eyedrops (which I've never used before) so when I asked for direction on how to use them they were friendly and not judgemental at all. I didn't need new lenses, but I'll be popping back in to try on and buy some updated frames. They have an excellent range of glasses frames from what I could see. What I really appreciated as well is how transparent and non-condescending they are about different price options. I'm privileged enough to be a private patient and can afford a range of frames, but it was clearly explained what the options are for NHS patients, people on benefits, etc. Smithdown Eyecare treat all with dignity and respect, which is an important value I look for in health care providers.

Amazing customer service! I felt very Covid-safe attending for my eye test. The staff are absolutely lovely and really make you feel like your custom matters. Decent selection of specs, and mine were ready less than 48 hours later! Highly recommended.

Have been a customer of Alan for twenty years, and couldn't imagine going anywhere else to have my contact lenses sorted every 6 months, and have my eye sight check ups. Always great service, very professional and helpful.

Now, I just want to start by saying that I have been through my fair share of opticians: Specsavers, vision express, you name it. However, Smithdown Eyecare is by far the absolute best I've ever come across. It actually deeply saddens me that when I move out of Liverpool, I won't be able to use Smithdown Eyecare anymore. Allen is a fantastic optician, who is kind, welcoming and accomodating who may answer any questions you may have in a friendly fashion, while being very COVID friendly and safe. Not only that, but he is an extremely pleasant man to do business with. I have mentioned this to everyone I've met - smithdown eyecare is THE best opticians I have ever laid foot in. I have had eye tests for great rates, contact lenses fixed and replaced without question, and Allen even sold me a pair of glasses that he is letting me pay off slowly without a contract, as I'm a student. How cool is that? My new glasses are absolutely brilliant, and in typical fashion not only did he provide me with samples for anti glare and mist, but also eye care solution and a container as I had my contacts in. All in all, I wouldn't reccomend anyone more. Absolutely fantastic. The best. Please use this local shop, because it blows any other awful corporate chain opticians out the water!! 10/10, 5 stars, extremely reccomended. Thanks Allen.

A brilliant opticians ran by a great optometrist! I called up at very short notice, concerned about an eye injury, and I was given a same day appointment - just a couple of hours later. The eye examination was thorough, conversation very pleasant and I left feeling reassured and with some excellent eye drops :)

I hate to be boring, but I have to agree with all the other five star reviews! A very pleasant welcome, sensible Covid precautions and an unhurried assessment by the exceptional optometrist. I was really impressed with up to the minute advice about new contact lenses and eye surgery, and felt reassured that my concerns and questions were listened to, understood and dealt with. Tuly a five star service. I look forward to choosing my new glasses!

Fantastic A Class service! I had given up having my favourite Ray Ban spectacles fixed as been to main opticians to be told cannot be done. Thought I try Smithdown Eyecare as last resort. I went for an eye test and to get lenses put in my Curry & Paxton frames. The frames were a rather expensive Xmas present and I wanted to go to an optician who I thought would handle them with due care. Smithdown Eyecare did not disappoint. First class service from my eye test through to collecting my frames with the new lenses. Very friendly, professional and highly recommended.
