I can definitely recommend Ashdown & Collins as an excellent local optician in Kensal Rise. It is easy to make an appointment to see Mr Lachani and you never have to wait for your consultation to start. The eye tests are comprehensive and thorough. You can feel assured that any further action will be advised, if necessary. The selection of spectacle frames is huge and great care is taken to ensure that they are suitable and at an acceptable cost. Newly prescribed spectacles are available in a few days and final fitting is quick and efficient. I have been visiting this branch ever since it opened and will continue to do so in future.

I was here with my Children aged 4 and 9. My 4 year old was anxious about having her eyes tested, but Hitesh was amazing. He talked her through things and really made her feel excited about the whole process, she can’t wait to go back for a check up. My son needed glasses and he was anxious about this. When picking frames, Jyoti spoke from her sons experience of having glasses at a similar age and really helped put my sons mind at ease. All in all I can’t fault the exceptional customer care and service. 100% recommend Ashdown & Collins!

The optician and the optometrist were both very helpful, courteous and professional in the examination and the advice offered. I was impressed and pleased by the fact that the optometrist had read the notes and details from my last appointment (two years ago) beforehand and so was immediately familiar with my history and able to discuss the changes since then which I had been concerned about. He also explained that the itchiness I had been experiencing was due to dryness rather than eye strain and advised better drops than the ones I had been using. After just one use the itchiness and discomfort were relieved, so that was a very good recommendation in addition to the other advice during and after the examination. I would recommend this excellent local practice.

I have been going to Ashdown & Collins for years and taking my children too; one of whom needs glasses. The staff there are always so warm, engaging and really try to make sure you are happy as a customer, whether that is finding glasses that your teenager will actually wear or going the extra mile to help you get used to contact lenses. The eye tests are thorough and efficient. I never feel I am being sold to; just given the service I actually need. They are a great attribute to the neighbourhood!

I have been using this optician for many years and they are always very helpful, welcoming and professional. I recently had to have new contact lenses, glasses (varifocals) and reading glasses. It was soon after they reopened after lockdown and they had very good safety standards. The eye tests are very comprehensive and thorough and the optician is friendly and the whole experience was very enjoyable. They have a large selection of frames which you can try on and if you decide against a frame it is put into isolation before being returned to the display. They do good measurements and use Nikon lenses which are exceptional. The glasses were ready within a week and they are perfect and I am very happy with them. I have since got them to turn my old Tom Ford frames into dark reading glasses and they are amazing as well. Please go and use this wonderful optician and meet the friendly happy team that makes choosing and buying glasses a really enjoyable experience.

This is one of the best opticians I know. After having left my family opticians who I grew up with I was quite apprehensive about going elsewhere. I was pleasantly surprised. The quality of care is outstanding. From when you enter the practice and the warm welcome you receive at the front desk to the consultation itself. All the receptionists are highly competent and put you at ease. The optometrist is very caring towards his patients, understanding and informative at all times. Giving excellent and clear advice about what is happening with your eyes. The first time I tried a 3D scan helped me to see a very clear picture of my eyes and with the explanation I can see exactly what is happening. I would highly recommend this practice regarding the service they provide.

I have been going to thus optician for over 10 years for eye checks since there’s a history of sight problems in my family - lucky they are so good about reminding me otherwise I would probably forget. Lovely people and they don’t try to flog you expensive glasses if you don’t want them, there’s a free/or cheap range that are perfectly good then you just pay for the lens - am wearing mine now!

I have been going to Ashdown & Collins Opticians for the last 24 years. I find the service second to none. The optometrist is very skilled and thorough and has all the latest technology at his disposal to help him detect common sight problems and even more sophisticated technology to look at the health of the eye - and, yes, the body - to help diagnose some of the rarer and more serious conditions. The dispensing staff is so knowledgeable and helpful, whether it's choosing a frame that looks good or explaining the different lenses available. They are also a very nice bunch of people! Visit them soon then you'll know what I mean.
