Absolutely brilliant service. Went for an eye test which wasn't rushed and the optician explained everything throughout the test, when it came to selecting the frames Nicola was very helpful and made me feel like a valued customer unlike other opticians where they just want you in and out, it took me ages to select the frames but most importantly I wasn't rushed or pressured into choosing which is a testament to the service. I opted for a pair of Tom Ford frames which really suit me and although they are expensive compared to other opticians the price doesn't matter because I know I have legit frames and the experience has impressed upon me that whenever I need an opticians again I'll be going to John Lewis

The shop itself is a lovely bright, airy, and welcoming space. The selection of frames on offer is extensive and the shop assistants, particularly Sheena, were polite, knowledgeable, and very attentive. We saw two of the opticians, Anuj and Anika, both were highly skilled and professional. Our only criticism was that during the eye exam all in-store announcements played within the examination rooms and were so loud that the eye examiner(s) had to stop speaking – in our opinion, the in-store announcements should be switched off for these examination spaces – and clearly the fault of the store and not of the fault of the opticians.

I was there some months ago to test my sight and get new lenses. Anuj gave me as usual a very professional and honest advice and Nicola delivered a great customer service. I gave the progressive office lenses a try. As I could not work with these lenses, Nicola arranged separate pairs of glasses at no extra cost. However, there were still some problems due to my computer screen being mounted at 80cm from desk edge. After some adjustments failed, Anuj adapted the prescription from scratch and here I am working comfortably with two pairs of glasses that overlap greatly for desk reading and PC / Laptop use.

I was served by Sheena in the Oxford Street store and she was amazing - nothing was too much effort for her and there was no such thing as trying too many pairs of glasses! I was advised that my glasses would take two weeks to arrive and they only took one. I made a mistake in ordering my prescription sunglasses and Sheena was super helpful; she reassured me that she would fix it for me at no additional cost. Such a lovely lady.

My wife and I were in for a full service - eye tests plus glasses and prescription sunglasses. The optician, Anuj, was charming and thorough, taking the time to talk us though his findings and his spiffy new equipment. Then Sheena showed us the choices by way of frames and lenses, listening hard to our preferences and coming up with the best solutions. All in all, a great experience.

The service here is exceptional. It was easy to book, my appointment was on time and they take the time to tailor the service to your needs and explain everything clearly. The process doesn't feel at all rushed or confusing. Above all (and what sets them apart from all other opticians I've been to) is that they do not pressure-sell glasses or contact lenses. That said, I found their prices to be very reasonable and so I chose to buy both contact lenses and new frames from them and I'm a very happy customer. I'm so pleased I've found a good opticians and I'll definitely be returning.

I ventured into the John Lewis Opticians out of curiosity with absolutely no intention of buying any glasses. However, the assortment of frames was incredible and Nicky was brilliant in helping me to find the perfect pair with no pressure at all to buy. I was able to have an immediate eye test and chose a pair of glasses that I adore. I am so impressed with the fabulous customer service, exceptional eye test and wonderful choice of frames. I am now planning my next visit for a new pair of sunglasses !

This gem of a shop is situated on the top floor of the John Lewis & Partners flagship store on Oxford Street. Like everything under the partnership banner, they are professionals and know what they are doing. The store is kind of hidden next to the cafe, however, if you want great quality spectacles, this is the place to go. They have a very vast, eclectic selection of spectacles and sunglasses. The staff is great and very attentive. They spent a lot of time helping me pick out the best set of eyewear for my face and personality. What really impressed me is their exchange policy. I was almost embarrassed to do that to them, however, I changed my mind the next day. My Ray Ban glasses were already ordered to my prescription and they still gave me a full refund in exchange for the Gucci frame that I really wanted - literally no questions asked. The selection and service are therefore unparalleled in my experience. Needless to say that my (free) eye test used only the latest equipment including retinal photography - a service that was available at an extra charge at my previous optician. I am aware that I am getting overly excited about an optician, however, a pair of glasses is a big and considered purchase for me which justifies my appreciation of the great service that I received

Outstanding Service, as expected from John Lewis. Optometrist was very professional and straightforward. Explained his findings in detail and satisfactorily answered all my questions. I deferred my purchase for some months since prescription didn't change much, but would definitely come back. Good range of glasses at reasonable prices for quality brands.

I’ve been to at least half a dozen opticians over the years, and have never left without a prescription for new glasses. I’ve always had the feeling that, however competent the optician, and however marginal the change in prescription, the end point was always going to be that I “needed” a new pair or two of glasses. Since the deregulation of optical services, years ago, I’ve increasingly come to feel professionalism give way to the pressure of sales. This was the first time I’d visited the opticians at John Lewis where, for the record, the optometrist was Anuj. I walked out much better informed and more confident, and with no new pair of glasses. The eye health and vision testing seemed to me very professional and the absence of pressure to buy – even on “Black Friday” – was very welcome indeed. Many thanks: I’ll be back.

I had a great experience at John Lewis opticians in Oxford Street. I went for an eye test and I was told I needed glasses. The test was well organised and I enjoyed the process and having everything explained clearly to me as it was my first test in a long time. Sabbah was brilliant at helping me find the correct glasses for my face shape and it was great not to be rushed. It was a big decision so I was there for a couple of hours and all the staff I came into contact with were very helpful. I'm so glad I went here for my eye test and first pair of glasses. A great experience overall!

After a disappointing visit to my usual opticians (it was overcrowded and their slection of frames was underwhelming) I discovered John Lewis opticians on the 5th floor Oxford Street. It’s discretely tucked away and the sense of serenity and style is what the shopping experience should be like. I quickly found a striking pair of frames and while I was intending to find a new pair of glasses I didn’t expect to find them so fast. Eye testing is being offered complimentary at the moment so I asked for the frames to be held. Yesterday I had an extremely comprehensive set of eye tests where some minor scarring was noticed. Despite regular tests from my previous company this was never brought to my attention before now. That is what I call totally professional service. I did end up purchasing a second pair but there was no pressure at all only excellent service and honest advice from the delightful staff. I will not be returning to my previous supplier.

Managed to get a very last minute appointment and was not disappointed. Greeted by Joe who was accommodating. After my eye exam (which was professional and thorough) I needed a new pair of glasses urgently and in less than 30 minutes my selected pair were ready to wear and were perfect. The most up to date and thorough eye test I have ever had. State of the art equipment and a very knowledgeable optician called Polina. I had sight tests for both glasses and contact lenses. Took some free contact lenses away to try out over the break and they were so much better than my old prescription. I've now ordered a 3 month supply for less than I would pay online. I wouldn't go to any other optician. Once again John Lewis are top of the game.

I visted this store a few weeks ago with no intention of buying glasses but after seeing the amazing choice of frames I just knew that I would have to buy a pair. I loved the relaxed atmosphere and the customer service was second to none. Thank you Nicky for your honest feedback and you clearly know your job so well ... i was so impressed with your knowledge and enthusiasm... at no time did I feel any pressure to buy. I decided to have an eye test and again I was so impressed with the lady who carried out this ... she was very thorough and caring ... In fact I would have to say the most thorough eye examination I have ever had... sorry I did not take her name . Back into the gorgeous store with help from my friend and Nicky I chose 2 pairs of glasses and I am thrilled with them. I hope to return again in a couple of months to buy sunglasses. 5 Star Service. I am a John Lewis partner myself and know the company has high standards and I wasn't dissappointed with my visit to the opticians in Oxford Street today. I was greeted by a nice gentleman who also done the first eye examinations and then saw the opticianist shortly after who done the actual eye test which was done professionally. Intentionally, I wasn't planning on buying glasses from John Lewis due to a pair I found online but having had a chat with the opticianist during the eye test I was quickly informed of the negatives in online purchases due to numerous reasons. Therefore I started looking at the RayBan selection with the gentleman I was first greeted with. We quickly found the same pair I was planning to buy online and although they didn't have the same transparent color theme in store. The poilite gentlemen went the extra mile to order the transparent ones and took the measurements. I also needed the pair before my driving test on the 12th so everything was processed on the same day to allow me to recieve them before the big day. Here's where I drop a star. Pricing** I did have a budget of £200 but went over as I was a little preasured into buying the top premium package for my specs due to the strength required and frame type. I understood the reason behind this but the pricing was quoted at £190+ online with premium lenses while John Lewis pricing for the same pair and premium lenses was £360+. However, with my partner discount was dropped to £270+. You can see the price difference but at least I'm assured the pair I'll be recieving is properly measured to my eye's and a genuine pair of RayBans.
