Fantastic customer care from start to finish. Both eye tests i felt very comfortable and relaxed, very informative and there was no rush. The aftercare with Suzanna and George was excellent, choosing my new frames was fun and delighted with my choices with their help. They have a very nice store in East Dulwich and great selection of frames. 100% recommend!

Fantastic experience in every aspect. The most thorough eye exam/health check I’ve ever had and although expensive you clearly get what you pay for. Totally un-rushed, things explained, gadgets & machines that you usually only see in eye hospitals. Service was really friendly, helpful & relaxed (this is a big factor for me). Fantastic array of frame too with no up-selling either as I have a complex stigmatism prescription!! I really enjoyed my experience here & looking forward to seeing Peggy when I next visit (their super friendly dog). Have recommended to others already.

On entering I was greeted by George and Peggy, his lovely Canine assistant. Immediately struck by the relaxed and friendly atmosphere and of course, the extensive display catering for everyone’s needs. My test was carried out by Priya, who was everything you could wish for .. Caring, knowledgeable, professional and extremely charismatic . She explained everything in a way that was easy to understand. After the test George helped me choose suitable frames and I left the shop feeling entirely happy and impressed by y the he experience. The Glasses arrived after 3 working days! Great service and I could not recommend highly enough 👍

What an amazing find in East Dulwich. So happy we popped in. Got an eye exam here and with a stigmatism, always struggled to find glasses that didn’t make me nauseated or failed to work. The team here is amazing and they have such a unique range of glasses to choose from.

Had a great experience from the sight test to the choosing of frames. Priya was great during the eye sight test. She explained the tests and what they were for. Was super helpful and easy to asks questions to. She also helped me to find the contact lenses which would be the best option for me. George was brilliant he helped me out to find the perfect frames and was super helpful. He asked me what I did on a day to day basis to be able to find the perfect lenses for the glasses. He also helped me with finding what frames would work best for my face. Brilliant optician if you want first class service and a lot of help with finding your perfect pair of glasses.

Firstly a great welcome; all very COVID-19 secure but still friendly. The eye examination felt thorough and I was totally at ease and informed at all points about the process and what each test and procedure had revealed. Then the lenses were explained and frame suggestions which were spot on - plenty to choose from in terms of styles and price ranges. The fitting and measurements felt very precise and took into account posture/usual head height and activities that the glasses would be worn for. A great experience and very satisfied with everything - plus Betty the dog to play with - what a treat!

Fantastic place, I went in by chance as I just wanted a quick eye test and they luckily could squeeze me in that day, they were so welcoming and really friendly. When I looked around I could see why they had opened, there are a few other opticians on the road, but this place is so unique. Their range of frames is brilliant, they have the classics but also arty, quirky frames that stand out which I absolutely love. I ended up for the first time having to work out which ones to have as I liked so many and ended up buying two. The eye test was extremely thorough and they even measured where my view was for my glasses which after 10 years of wearing glasses has never been measured. The price was high (to much really for me) but the turn around was so quick and the level of service from quick emails, to calls to say the glasses had arrived and then checking they fitted was impeccable. When I went to collect my other pair they noticed my lens had a scratch and replaced it free of charge. This is the first place where I have spent a lot and actually feel that I got my moneys worth. The service was fantastic, my new glasses are unique and I absolutely adore them. Thank you so much Taylor-West & Co!

Great personal service and a comprehensive eye test. Having spent years visiting a friend at her opticians in North London I decided to avoid the commute during COVID and decided to search out a local optician. I had heard horror stories about a well known brand of opticians so I wanted to be sure to search out a quality local independent optician. Having worked my way through google search and checked the websites I settled for couple of opticians and did a ring round. My first contact with Taylor West was over the phone was notably informative compared to the other calls I made. I received an upfront explanation that the eye test would be more expensive and why. I read through their website again and felt reassured it was the correct choice and booked an appointment. My visit was was a pleasant experience, the optician was thorough and I was provided with a comprehensive explanation on the health of my eyes. I received similar care and attention when choosing frames and lenses. No regrets about my choice and pleased tk recommend them. Just don't park your bicycle outside without multiple adequate locks if you want to ride it again.

I love this opticians. I usually find it really stressful choosing new glasses as I wear them all the time but when I went to Taylor-West they completely took the stress away and made it a really fun experience. Suzana has a great eye for what suits people and she spent lots of time helping me to find the perfect glasses. The other staff are great as well, it has a lovely atmosphere and the best quality of service I've ever experienced from an opticians. I'm delighted to have found Taylor-West.

I popped in to Taylor and West as I had lost a screw in my glasses. (These particular frames had always been pants. Constantly misshaped, screws fall out, they’ve been burnt due to how many times they have had to be remoulded. You definitely wouldn’t have thought they cost me so much.) George is a miracle worker. After 3 years of being plagued with these glasses, he decided to go to town and try and make them work for me one last time! He polished them, (feel like new lenses!) put screws in that STILL are in place, the nose pieces are finally aligned. They sit straight on my face. He even said that in a couple of weeks he would be able to polish off the burn marks from the constant remoulding with a new machine he is getting. I am so so grateful for this. You are a legend. I am writing. This review 3 weeks on and still feeling good, screws in place and not wonky!) Whilst having my glasses manipulated to perfection, I had a look at the eye wear. The shop have a really cool choice of specs! We talked through what frames would suit my incredibly high prescription. I am definitely going back there.

This place is glorious. From arrival to picking up my glasses it was professional, relaxed and a happy experience. Greeted by George who runs the shop I felt instantly at ease. They had already sent me a well written email about what to expect in the eye exam. Priya the optometrist was a joy and made me feel comfortable and also laugh. The exam lasted around 3/4 of an hour and it felt like having my eyes finely tuned or re-calibrated. Once back onto the shop floor Suzana checked out my face and got to work making suggestions as to what she thought would suit me :) I was made to feel cared about and it genuinely felt like they wanted to get the best frames for my face as much as I did. George marked up my specs. Gave me a total. I paid for the eye test and off I went. Two days later I was walking out into the streets of East Dulwich seeing a whole lot of everything. Can’t thank them enough. Everyone who knows me has commented on how great they are. And I totally agree. Thanks George, Susana and Priya.

Finally Lordship has an opticians selling a range of quirky, cool and sophisticated specs. Its the type of opticians you would expect in West-end or even Brighton , only the owner doesn't charge astronomical prices for all the add-ons (anti-scratch etc) like most do. Immediately walking into the shop I liked the layout - it was nice and easy to find the style i was after and the owner / manager knows heaps about what he is selling (clearly passionate about eyewear). I bought beautiful Cat-Eye specs on Saturday and they were ready for me on Tuesday. Wishing the new addition to the high street all the success.

We walked in just to check out some frames, but left feeling we received amazing service before we even bought anything. We were originally going to look around for more frames, but within 2 mins of walking out, we decided there is no point in checking out any other opticians, and ordered our glasses straight away. We asked for a verification of my prescription, and got the most pleasant and extensive eye check up instead. Super impressed, and have signed up to their eye care programme.
