F. N.Chose this place because the reviews were good and it lived up to them. I have been wearing glasses for 34 years and have never experienced such good or attentive service. Yes it is a bit more expensive than most places but you don't need to change specs very often, so it's worth investing a bit for something so important, especially if you prescription is a little bit more complicated. And you really do get what you pay for. In many opticians you feel they are just trying to get as many people through the door and make as much money as possible without providing dedicated care and service, or that they are just too busy to focus, even if they do care: not the eye place. I brought my own frames which I bought online and they advised they were the best choice for my needs. I recommend without any reservations.

T.There’s a few good reviews here already, and I’ll just add that this place is expensive but it’s absolutely worth every single penny, don’t go anywhere else for glasses or contacts, and if you found it while searching but don’t live nearby you would do well to make a journey here to get the best service. I was shocked, amazing opticians with state-of-the-art equipment and down to earth manner. My spec lenses are incredible. Thanks!
D. B.I went for a eye-test and I must say that, from the reception to the eye expert, the service was outstandingly excellent. Very warm, kind and friendly and keeping professionalism. They explain everything very well and great great consideration during these COVID times, keeping distance whenever possible, wearing masks and wiping all the machines in front of you to make you feel safe. If I moved out from the zone, I’d still try to come here for my checks.
T. B.Great place that really care about the person. Afterr having a bad experience at Specsavers, I came to The Eye Place. The eye exam itself is super thorough - more than you would get at any other eye exam with the doctors genuinely caring about your eye health. The front of house staff care about how your glasses fit and look. They will be patient and help you find the best frame for your face and make sure they fit. The staff all take their time helping you, and make you feel like you are important. It's such a lovely atmosphere and a great place to come for my eye exams.

b. b.charming staff and excellent optician, very careful with my vision having been referred there by a neurologist for eye tests. my new distance lenses are sharp, fine and i've got comfortable new readers too. you can pay a little or pay a lot for frames - but the sort of attention to detail and kindness you receive here is priceless.

S.I started going to Alex when he was in Bakewell, that's how impressed I was with the opticians, I would take a holiday and travel from Kent to Derbyshire and fit in an appointment with my optician at the same time! Now he's opened a couple of places in London which is a lot more convenient. I did try going elsewhere a couple of years ago but only once and was disappointed. The staff are brilliant and very knowledgeable, the frames are gorgeous and I receive lots of compliments about my glasses. I can't recommend The Eye Place highly enough. I can honestly say that I look forward to my appointments!!

C. K.Great range of frames, so I still get my frames here even though we've moved 100 miles away. Staff were extremely helpful when my glasses broke on a Sunday. I phoned and spoke to someone on the same day. I posted them for repair on the Monday, they repaired and reposted them on the Tuesday, and now on Wednesday they're already back on my face again! Big relief! :-)
