It was my first time trying contact lens as my steaming glasses is making life difficult. From the receptionist to the optician, all amazing. I am naturally clumsy with things and I have long nails which made it difficult for me to try the contact lens but this amazing optician was so patient with me. I was embarrassed but he assured me it was ok. Excellent service. Keep it up.

I am going to say I was happy with the service until the vision was not quite right having had further laser treatment still not 100% however, offered further laser free of charge. This would result in possibility of needing reading glasses my reading vision is very good at moment not really wanting glasses to read I requested not to go ahead with further surgery and request the option to get driving glasses for nighttime driving as my issue is distance and night driving. I was rather disappointed and let down when going to Eldon Square branch and having to pay full cost for these glasses that really I should not need having paid thousands for the lense replacement surgery. Kirsty in the branch was so helpful and is contacting head office to see what can be done fingers crossed someone sees sense to be honest maybe too early to request a review depending on outcome this could change drastically!

Been coming to this Opticians for a number of years now & have seen many changes with it as a whole. The products such as glasses, lenses etc are very good value and quality & the Optical tests are very professional. My observation, over the years is that small, stand alone Opticians really deliver on great personal customer service but maybe don't offer as good prices on they're re products as the Big Corporate Opticians. The big Corporate Opticians, offer better prices & product choices (generally) than the stand alone's, but in my experience lack the personable customer service focus.

Took my elderly Father for the 1st time to your Eldon square store Newcastle , greeted at the door from entering store team very welcoming and made my dad feel at ease in these uncertain times , we where provided with face masks, had our temperature taken and provided with hand gel, very safe but welcoming and felt at ease, the optician took her time to explain everything she was doing and had a very professional but personable manner. She recommended varifocal glasses and handed us to the assistant who took her time to go through the different lens and even showed us these on her computer, and even gave my dad a free second pair of spare reading glasses. Would definitely recommend this store. It was my dads first time out shopping after shielding and he felt very safe and well looked after. Thank you everyone in the store

Really helpful, friendly and caring staff. They helped me throughout, taking care of my bags and coat etc. They even double checked one of the tests. Then they spent a good 15 minutes making sure I got the right glasses and lenses and a good deal. I’m very confident this test was done properly, unlike the previous one at a different high street opticians.

The staff are amazing in this store. I was welcomed by staff as soon as I entered the store and was asked to take a seat in the waiting are as I was slightly early. This was my first eye test since being a child so I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. My eye test was with Melissa and she was very professional and informative. After my eye test Paige helped me with choosing my frames and also recommended lenses with anti glare as I needed my glasses specifically for driving. I needed the glasses for a particular day and unfortunately they weren’t going to be ready in time, I was made aware of this within plenty of time and booked in to be fitted with contact lenses. I saw Melissa who did my initial eye test and she put my contacts in for me. She was very patient and understanding as getting contacts in for the first time is a very strange feeling. Paige then sat with me as I took them out and put them back in myself. She was also very patient and put me at ease. I would definitely recommend optical Express everyone was so genuine and professional.

The staff team st the Newcastle Eldon Square branch have been endlessly patient, pleasant and persevering with me over my changing visual needs as I gave gone through the process of cataract extraction. They have borne with me while I tried one kind of multi-focal contact lens and then another - and all without charge until we. established what was best for me. I returned to the store with frames which I was unhappy with, and prescription sunglasses which had too much tint. The manager (Leah) was both sympathetic and understanding and made arrangements to have the problems rectified right away. Highly professional and efficient service! But would her promises be fulfilled? No need to worry. On my second visit I met Cecelia who made all the necessary arrangements to have the issues resolved. She demonstrated a thorough knowledge of her trade, was patient and offered excellent advice. She contacted me when she said she would and ensured that I was highly satisfied with the outcome. A first class example of what customer service should look like from start to finish.

This was my first experience with Optical Express. I booked for an eye test and appointment made yesterday 17:55. Friday night I thought it will just be a quick test and I’ll get my prescription. I was bowled over by the professionalism at the Eldon Square, Newcastle store. First impressions were very welcoming and the eye examination with David was the most thorough I have had in 25 years of wearing glasses. He listened and asked relevant questions. On completion of the test Jasmine was fantastic when advising me on choice of frames, offers available etc. They do stock a different style of frames and high end designer frames. They don’t push you to by the thinnest frames and the highest cost and will accommodate to a budget that you are comfortable with. I managed to get away with the standard lenses which I was very happy about. I am desperate for the glasses and after choosing my two beautiful Tiffany frames(that was the wow for me!!) _ one pair day to day and one pair sunglasses. Jasmine has put notes on the system to get these put on urgent as I am planning a short break very soon. Thank you everyone at Optical Express at Newcastle. 😀😀😀

Fantastic service today at the eldon square branch, staff are lovely. I'd let my appointment laps and had ran out of contact lenses. They made me a quick appointment ordered in a set of lenses so I had a pair for the appointment and didn't have to go with out untill my new pack arrived, answered all of my questions and helped me pick out new some new glasses. This is a regular occurrence and is most annoying considering I always make the effort to ensure that I arrive well in advance of my allocated appointment. The only negative thing is I have to travel to Newcastle from bishop auckland for my follow up appointments when I was initially told they would be at Darlington. So pleased with my experience. I spoke to Paige and explained my glasses were broke she advised I bring them into store and they would look and see if they could be fixed. I asked how much it would cost for a new pair of raybans and another pair as sunglasses , she went through all the prices including thinner lenses and second pair discount. Daniel also mentioned I got 20% discount for working in Eldon square. Thankfully they actually managed to fix my glasses!!! And they were even brought to my place of work by the store manager! She helpfully dealt with my request of looking at my current glasses, which although not purchased from Optical Express I had damaged over the weekend. Whilst Kirsty was away another member of staff named Dan, asked how old my glasses were and whether I required a test. Thinking back it had been a while and he offered me the opportunity of booking an exam on my day off. Due to the service I received I was more than happy to book one, I have already earmarked a few frames to suit my style helped by both Kirsty and Dan. It was a joy to be in the store, I was also provided free juice, provided by a person who I learned was the optician on duty at the time going by Alex!
