The shop had a down stair eye area for the disabled customer, and my eye test and collection went well. One pair of the glasses I am going back to see if the can be altered as they do not fit comfortably and, as they are varifocal I am having problems using the reading part of them. The second pair I got are great and work well.

Wonderful professional and kind service. I recently suffered 4 days of flight and train cancellations and delays whilst visiting the Midlands and the South. This was due to the recent storms. These delays incurred extra unplanned overnight stays. As a result, I had run out of daily contact lenses. With the prospect of a 5 hour drive home to Northumberland, I was rather tired, stressed and concerned. I attended the Queen Street, Oxford Specsavers, and was immediately put at ease. I explained my predicament and that I was on the Specsavers lensmail service. A quick check of their system to find my details from the Ashington store, and a check of my prescription, it was not long until they offered me 5 pairs of lenses including a toric lens, which was a lucky find! They also provided eye wash for my sister who was also travelling in my party, and had an irritated eye. All complimentary. The optician then conducted a short eye test with my new lenses, to ensure I was legal to drive and comfortable. This was all on top of their customers who were booked in for appointments during a busy half term. I was so grateful for the amazing service, I popped to M&S opposite and left the staff a box of chocs as a small token of my appreciation. All staff were lovely including Noor and Huda who dealt with me the most. 10s 10s 10s! 10s across the board! Thank you so much!!

Oddly I would have never thought I would give an opticians a review or five stars but I am doing so now. They are very efficient. You are seen quickly and the staff are friendly and well trained. They have staff at the front door that try to deal with your needs as you walk in and i have found that often I don't need an appointment and can be seen to straight away (from ordering a replacement pair of glasses to having my glasses refitted).

Too much pressure to upgrade and get expensive lenses etc. If I hadn't noticed, I would have been charged for non reflective lenses without asking for them. I then got told I needed them because I had been prescribed them! No one needs them... I just wanted a cheap pair of glasses. Otherwise ok.

I was given a new prescription a couple weeks ago and wanted to have a genuine feeling of my new glasses before putting this comment. I had quite a few issues with my eyes so I came to request a new prescription. After some regular check ups on the machine I then met with one of the consultants called Joseph and he’s absolutely amazing. He’s very patient and asked a lot of questions and some extra check ups to really find out the issues behind my eyes. It’s fascinating that he managed to find out the machine would always give a near sighted reading to my slightly long sighted eyes, which meant that many of the eye experts I saw else where were wrong. He gave a few good pieces of advice on some eye exercises I could do at home to improve my eye situation. I found my new glasses really comfortable and the irritation of my eyes was really improved. I am very grateful!

Great experience for eye test and new lenses in the covid era. Only criticism was that I had to wait 8 mins outside directly in the 33C sunshine. Don't mind waiting outside but needs an orning or shelter.

I had my contact lens check-up and eye test here last weekend. I had previously used smaller private companies like Scrivens and Pittman's. I was impressed with the professional service here, although I was passed around four different people on my visit. They have a busy shop floor downstairs where all the glasses frames are. Consulting rooms are upstairs. There are front-of-house staff to greet and direct you when you arrive. I was surprised how good the prices are. I was really overpaying for my glasses at Scrivens! If you use disposable daily contact lenses, their lens contract is good value: discounts on glasses are included and you don't have to pay any extra for eye tests and contact lens check-ups. I'll be opting for 10 pairs of lenses for £15/month.

Managed to break my specs while walking the Thames Path. Fantastice customer service from all the staff. Despite their best efforts they were unable to fix them, but after checking my prescription with my local Hertford branch, they had me up and running with a new set within an hour or so. This involved the lens maker staying beyond his finish time to get me sorted. VERY IMPRESSED!!

They offer a variety of specs and frames. Once you book you will go for an eye test, then you will be guided to choose a frame for your glasses after a thorough eye test by an ophthalmologist. Although expensive, they offer discounts on pairs. I was first prescribed eyeglasses despite having a simple astigmatism hence it didn't help and made my situation much worse. After complaining, they kindly offered me a second free review by a more efficient ophthalmologist, she said you don't need the eyeglasses but it seems you have dry eyes, I ended up replacing the eyeglasses for an eye drops, they helped my eyes to relax the first day, then I never felt any improvement regarding my blurred vision and consequent headache. Some of the advisors were honest to tell me that a contact lens won't help or you don't need an eyeglasses, other advisors seemed careless. Overall, they are good and are improving themselves by learning through mistakes and listening to their customers' reviews. Although I ended up spending money and time on no actual treatment, it worth trying after I realised my actual blurred vision is not a visual problem.

I bought my glasses from 'Vision Express' just over a year ago, and a small accident broke the cord that ran under the lens securing it to the frame. After 6 weeks of using sellotape to hold it together, I decided to use part of my day off to run into Vision Express to have it fixed (before an 11.15 appt. elsewhere). Oh no, they couldn't possibly do it, they'd have to order the cord, send the glasses away...but, said one of them, Specsavers can do it, they have a lab on site (like VE is supposed to, but that's another discussion). Seething, I trundle down to Specsavers...only to silently thank Vision Express for sending me over. I was met as soon as I walked in, my name taken, offered a seat. Someone came over within 10 min to find out what was wrong. I told her, and she said she'd call the lab to see how long it would take. 30 min, which would get me to my next appointment in the nick of time. I said that was absolutely fine, mentioned my appointment, she said she'd put a note on the glasses to expedite the work. Oh, and as I waited, the person who greeted me came by and apologised for it taking so long! *Less than 20 minutes later* - at 10.40 - my repaired glasses were handed back to me with a smile and an 'Are they ok?' They were perfect. She started to walk away. 'How much do I owe you?' 'Nothing.' Wait, what? 'Are you sure?' 'Yes.' I know where my next pair of glasses are coming from. Brilliant, courteous, competent service. Great team, great place. Thanks, guys!

I was on holiday for a few days in Oxford, and had had an eye infection for almost 2 weeks, which wasn't clearing up. I called into Specsavers and was greeted by Jenny Howard, who contacted Sophie Carter. Both ladies were very helpful and kind,and the eyedrops Sophie recommended are much easier to use than the ointment I was prescribed by my doctor. Sophie also gave me a few wipes for blepharitis, which I had forgotten to bring from home. I was very impressed with the service. Thank you so much, Diane
