Great experience! Made a same day appointment and got in right away. I was a couple minutes late but didn't have to wait long to be seem.The front desk staff and the assistants were very nice and helpful. The optician (Tom P) is truly exceptional! From the moment I entered the testing room I felt welcomed, cared for, and completely at ease.The professionalism and friendliness of the whole team is outstanding. I couldn’t be happier with my appointment

Friendly staff gave great advice on which ones to pick. My chosen glasses arrived very promptly and when in store, they made final adjustments to create the perfect fit. Lovely staff all where very welcoming friendly and helpful made to feel so welcome 🙂 Wish I could of sed the same for the next visit I had last week the young lady in her early 20s with long black hair tied in a low ponytail that seen me down stairs by the main desk wasn't very helpful at all she had a stand off attitude with me when i first walked towards her wasnt a walm welcome at all wasn't being very helpful at all and when she would have to get back up to readjust my glasses she huffed and puffed like it was an effort she was also going to let me leave the store with smudges all over my lenses it was only cus I pointed out that they were abit smudged that she decided to clean then half bothered as they were still slightly smudged when she past them to me with no bag or anything very disappointing

25 quid basic test extra 10 quid for enhanced test... 2 pair of glasses n test about 124 quid... there is cheaper but for peace of mind and been 7 years since last test it was worth it for me.

My husband came into the Plymouth store first thing today after breaking his glasses last night. He had no spares and urgently needed a replacement. The young man who assisted him couldn’t do enough to help him get sorted out, putting in so much effort. Unfortunately there was nothing suitable in stock, not through lack of trying, so he sent him to a nearby opticians who had a laboratory in store, who were able to supply new ones. But we would like to give praise to the helpful Specsavers assistant for his amazing help 😊

I booked an appointment for my daughter and myself. They were running slightly late which meant we had no time, afrer our eye test, to pick out glasses. This obviously means we have to return to choose and return again to collect. Both opticians were lovely and dealt with us in a professional and efficient manner. The actual shop is a little tired looking, not helped by a ceiling tile falling down leaving the carpet covered in dust and dirt and not being cleared and cleaned. It was very busy so definitely a popular place.

Havn't had a problem yet, I've been using spec savers for a few years now, they are always kind and I have a few disabilities, I have no problems getting in or out the building. They have quite a few different tests available including diabetic eye tests and hearing tests, if you have any problems concerning your eyes or hearing they will find it and they will help you solve it.

Very busy. Appointment was 12:35. We left there 2:15 . Which makes it rather a long day for my disabled daughter. When eye tests take about 20 mins. To much waiting around. Some people dont have time to just sit & wait . For schools & other disabled families.

My husband is in a care home in Plymouth. He was quite disoriented as he’d lost a hearing aid. A call was put in to Nantwich where his original prescription was done. They couldn’t have been more helpful and within three days, he received a new hearing aid and the promise of a follow up free home visit within two weeks time. Thank you Sam in the Plymouth store. Plymouth Armada way. Would not recommend having a Saturday appointment its like a flea market. So many people despite covid rubbish still going on. Opticians are always great, however front of house staff very hit and miss. Someone will be with you in 5 minutes, yeah nah. You have to hunt for them. Lots of hidden costs. Even on a week day always delayed by 1/2 hour or more. 10 minute with opticians followed by more waiting. You always have to chase them for your glasses, never get the promised messages or text untill you leave more than one message. And never there when promised they would be. No direct line to the store its a uk wide switchboard with laclustre staff. Expect to be there for at least 2hrs despite always being early, they are always running late nomatter, day, time

Specsavers got in touch with me after reading my previous bad review below and arranged an appointment the following day at a suitable time. They also gave me advice on my eye soreness which may be allergic reaction to the frames. I was advised to change my glasses with a hypoallergenic frame at no extra cost and was rang later with advice on treatment with a follow up after 2 weeks if I needed it. If you have a problem tell them so can they help you. Previous review: Limited choice of lens types. My eyes were OK before I started using Specsavers glasses now when I awake they are sore. I had 2 sets and the set with transition lenses that I hardly wear have Broken . Won't be going back.

Appointment was good and the staff are friendly but clearly busy. Even if you have an appointment you're waiting for 20 - 30 mins before being seen. The lady who directed me to the glasses said she'd be back to advise in 5 mins and then was distracted by another customer and never came back. You get good glasses but you'll be there a while.

Appt booked for 10am for my son. Initially not seen until 10..40 and waited a further 45mins for the eye test to be done which only took 10 mins. Had already completed a questionnaire via email as requested before appt which explained that this would reduce the need to wait uneccessarily due to covid 19. Needed new glasses but by this time my 14year old was totally uninterested in looking so left.

Having broken the nose brace on my glasses I popped into the store and was greeted by the floor staff who assessed the damage and said it could be fixed in store quickly, I was asked to take a seat and wait, which was simply 3~4 minutes, and a member of staff took the spectacles to a workshop and repaired them in 4~5 minster. Surprisingly the service was provided at no cost. Well done Specs aversion and your friendly staff.

Great Service in the store. The store looked immaculate and all the staff were friendly. I popped in on the off chance for an adjustment on my glasses and was greeted by the assistant manager Jacob. He sat me down and checked the fit and went away to adjust them. he came back cleaning my glasses and they fitter wonderfully. Jacob checked my details and reminded me I was due for an eye exam. my wife and eye both got seen on the day and bought 2 brand new pairs of varifocals 2 for the price of one. The whole experience was top class.. Me and my wife were treated like we were celebrities. I must say Jacob's customer service was the best I have experienced in recent years, friendly professional we a good sense of humour and has the customer at the heart of everything he does. Long waits, can't look at glasses properly, I was told there would be a 2 week wait for my glasses and 8d get a phonecall when they arrived in ... its now 22 days and still no phonecall! I had to jump through hoops to get an appt in the first place and it was completely empty when I arrived, call your customers back on time.

Despite having no elevator for pram or those who require assistance to get up the stairs it's an ok place. My personal favourite is stating what lenses someone needs and orders after which they get their eyes tested. I'm pretty sure it's suppose to be the other way round. Plenty of staff which is always good so wait time is pretty low. Clean friendly helpful.

Generally pretty good. Very understanding with my elderly parents, who both have a Dementia, in both eye tests and hearing tests. You can book a downstairs test too if whoever is being tested has difficulty with stairs. They don't have a lift so it's wise to book that in advance.

Have always used Specsavers for my glasses for many years. Their professionalism and numerous choices with very attractive prices. Puts Specsavers above and beyond other opticians. Their staff are friendly, polite, respectful and dedicated as are others. However, with Covid19 running rampant. There are changes to the usual routines. You just need to listen to what their staff tell you, and everything falls into place. The new thing for myself and my wife. Was the introduction of a a photograph of your eye so as to give a clearer picture of anything untoward happening to your eyes. It's PAINLESS folks, take less than one minute , and yes it costs. ONLY £10...NOT £100 for the same thing if you went private!! It's well worth the investment every two years. Plus it helps the professionals at Specsavers to actually show you things in simpler terms. As a picture paints a thousand words, and everything is in colour, and its amazing to see. I'm 67, and its well worth it. You can't mess with your eyes. You only get one pair. No spare ones. Trust me when I tell you there's nothing gory or scarey about this new addition which Specsavers have had for about a year. This was my first time too.😁😁

I've always had a good experience with Specsavers and I have been using them for a number of years for glasses and contact lenses. In fact they have helped identify problems with my eyes that have improved my quality of life. Staff are always friendly and helpful and recently the Plymouth branch have realigned all my check ups to minimise the number of appointments and the number of time I have to visit the store. Only criticism is that I wish more Saturday and Sunday appoinments were readily available as it is sometimes a 3 week wait to get one

I always go to Specsavers. Don't know why but I have always thought of it as vastly inferior to the posh Opticians you see around. A bit like Harrods to the Co-op. I'm wrong of course! I have been coming here ever since I needed glasses....some 20 + years. I've never had a bad experience. The staff are helpful and friendly and it's good to see lots of youngsters learning their new profession amongst the oldies. I recently had a check up and a young lady with a degree and in her 3rd year did the eye test. She was lovely and very professional......and.....my eyes are pretty good too.....phew!!

Around 2 to 3 years need a new prescription. So been to specsavers a few times in the last 15 years. Why do i pick specsavers? For me it is the sheer number of frame styles to suit my face and the style of clothes that i wear. If you ask me about the whole experiance ie, how long i have been kept waiting, Did i find the staff to be helpfull to tailor for my particular needs, The only thing i can say, there has never been any consistancy. By that i mean there were times i left there angry with the whole experiance Feeling that i have been taken for a ride. And on the flip side i have gone to my apointment And been greeted politely, the staff could not do enough for me and i walked out that time happy and felt i got a great deal. So to sum it up its roll the dice and hope you have a good experiance.

Needed glasses for driving. Use online codes to get the test for or free. Then there are options on prices. The service is good but can get pricey if you your glasses polarised etc. Be prepared to wait a few days for your glasses.

I was given a appointment time to pick up my new glasses this Sunday.I arrived 5 mins early to find there were 5 people waiting to be seen before me.2 people collecting and 3 walk ins.Now why did I have to have an appointment time if people can just walk in.The whole idea is you are seen at the appoinment time.This needs to be looked at.Some Staff should deal with appointments, others deal with walk ins.A member of staff telling me 'she can only apologise' etc with the set apology sentence does not alter the fact I would of been waiting for at least 40mins.This delay matters and so do I.

I am recovering from Bells palsy and I desperately need new reactor lenses, unfortunately a online contact lense wearer I have let my glasses test laspe with specsavers Tavistock. I do have an expensive pair of glasses from them which I am wearing. I was told they did not have access to Tavistock records they are on a rebuishment. I now live in Plymouth, I was told it was illegal to prescribed glasses without an upto date eye test. No he could not help me.... I rang boots in Drake circus, professional advice, kind and helpful and I see them on Friday
