I’m long-sighted but having had a poor experience in the past with bifocals (from another opticians) I had avoided a change of prescription for some time. However, having bought a new car with an all-digital dashboard, I needed to find a solution for driving so that I could see the road AND read the dashboard. Johanna was lovely and talked me though how varifocal glasses could help and I took the plunge. Johanna helped me chose frames (a style I wouldn’t have considered before) and I am delighted with the glasses - they have solved the problem and look great! I was very impressed with the time taken to talk me though the way varifocals could work. A very satisfied customer. Thank You!

I was able to book a convenient appointment really quickly after my grandson broke my glasses. The eye health tests were explained in detail what they were looking for and were more comfortable than I was expecting them to be. The optometrist explained all the results before he did my eye test. Choosing my new glasses was easy and a really friendly experience despite the store being busy. Overall I would recommend people to use vision express

Very satisfying visit to optician. Impressed with voluntary exclamation of each eye test along the way without need of a prompt! Optician was very efficient and I never felt rushed throughout my appointment and was given plenty of time to choose new spectacles. Throughout all staff were friendly and always willing to answer any questions I had.😊

Quality aftercare twice my old specs the wire snapped after dropping (oops) and staff very quickly repaired for no cost. So returned for eye test recently.. Nov 2021 and had excellent service.. potentially a bit more help choosing frames would have been better but I found a very nice pair so very happy. Thank you.

Changed from 5 star Been using these for 23 years and never had a problem. It is small and yes you have to wait for ya glasses for UP TO 7 days but bare in mind they have to be sent off, made, and returned to the shop. I think 7 days is quick. Considering how much work goes in to making custom made lenses for each individual person. 😁👍 Down to 3 stars they just don't answer the phone. Or ya left standing at the desk for 10-15 min while they stand around talking. They just completely ignore you. So disappointed after all these years the service has gone pants

Very good service regarding the eye test very patient and explained everything in detail... felt a bit rushed when choosing the frames and going through what lenses are best for my self that part of the service was not happy with didn't really give me much time to choose between normal lenses or vari focal lenses

Last week I had an appointment for vision express as I had been experiencing pain in both of my eyes alongside other symptoms. Although I wasn’t due an appointment for a regular eye test I still booked one just to know if there was something wrong. When I arrived for my appointment I was greeted by a lovely woman named Holly, she mentioned she’d been trying to contact me as my appointment was cancelled but had no answer as I hadn’t updated my phone number. Although my appointment was cancelled I told holly my symptoms and asked if she had any advice, she went and spoke to another optician and came back to tell me what had been said. I went away and followed the advice she gave me. Today I received a phone call again from Holly and she was ringing to see how I was and whether I had been seen, as she said she was worried about me and wanted to make sure that I was okay. I’ve been in customer service myself and gone to the ends of the earth for customers but not always received this back. For holly to have gone out of her way to have done this really made my day. She was lovely and so polite both in person and over the phone. I have decided to write this review as I think she deserves the recognition for being so kind and thoughtful in her job! I wish holly the best of luck in the future and have no doubt that anyone who comes into contact with her will have the same lovely experience as I have! Thank you so much Holly! :)

My appointment was on time for my eye test and it was completed efficiently and also safely and hygienically especially with being in the middle of the covid pandemic. The sales assistant was very helpful and patient with me whilst I was choosing the frames.

Hi Sadly this place is not once what it used to be. Been going here for over the best part of 10 years. And now slowly thinking of jumping ship as everything about this store has changed so much. They still have a few quality staff members who have good positive attitudes, and some that make you think why am I here, and to add insult to injury am actually paying them hundreds for this. Sadly not sure I'll be returning for more of this unless it goes back to the positive ways where staff where actually happy to help you get the best and do what they can to help you in every way they could. Now it's more off what ever even the actual opticians and people who give you a test are careless and write what they want and do what they want. They seem to forget its us who's paying for them to be there and in return we ask for them to be as professional.

Based on my experience in store after booking an eye test online, I had a pleasant experience! The eye test and glasses consultant went brilliantly, very friendly staff, I needed some goggles within a week, which they said was impossible, yet six days later, they had them ready for me!! Got to say, it is pricy, but often only if you make it pricy through expensive brands! Overall, I can't fault you, maybe be a bit more enthusiastic to pick up the telephone in store and improve the experience for your other online reviewers!

I went into the Hanley store over 12 months ago and purchased 2 pairs of sunglasses while I was there I tried some reading glasses on which I intended to go back and get only after seeing the reviews on here I was against it although the lady that served me previously was very helpful ,anyway I thought I'd just go for it and see for myself ,I booked eye test on line also printed discount offers ,my appointment was on time and I was more than impressed with the service everyone was extremely helpful I purchase some glasses and will have to wait approx 3 weeks I'm yet to see what the after care is like but going on what I've experience so far very pleased with.Someone commented on here that there to expensive and go to spec savers well yes there is that but the saying goes you only get what you pay for and I'm sure I have chose some quality glasses with the help of the staff so thank you. If the service is as good when I collect my glasses then you will all deserve 5 stars 😀

The overall service I had from Vision Express was very good I couldn't fault them they were very professional and polite with it. I had two pairs of designer glasses which I'm satisfied with but if I knew then what I know now I would have had just one pair that did the lot reading, driving and transitions but I'm still satisfied with both pairs infact my mother liked what they've done for me that she's asked me to make an appointment with them and if they weren't up to scratch she would have gone elsewhere.

5 stars - some irrelevant reviews on this store. However, I started using vision express here as a child (15 years ago almost) and come regular every two years. The staff are very helpful - the last frames I bought had paint started flaking off and they replaced tjem with new lenses and lnocked me some money of a new designer pair - very helpful. However, it has lost its "express"ness, I too remember the lab and it's was great, it is a shame you have to wait a week but I waited two years for a regular test so...a week is really nothing. Prices are steep, that's the only downfall, but i believe that's out of the stores control and with the designers ripping people off and forcing other lenses up, and so this store gets 5*.

Despite all of the terrible reviews on here I had a brilliant experience in this store last Saturday! The lady who served me was bubbly, helpful, efficient and attentive! Despite it being ridiculously busy. Unfortuntely I didn’t get her name, it was a blonde lady. I think it’s quite ridiculous that some people on here are leaving a 1 star review on the basis of other reviews without visiting the store?! Base your opinions on your own experiences and stop being sheep.
