Sam came to help us with our unusual heating system - a 2000 litre thermal store connected to a log burner which runs our domestic central heating. Despite it being an unfamiliar set up, Sam managed to identify the fault and fix it. Many heating engineers would have gone weak at the knees, but Same took it in his stride. I particularly valued his willingness to listen to what I had to tell him about the system and also to share his diagnostic process. His doing this meant I gained some valuable information about our system. Sam is friendly, knowledgeable and straightforward. I can thoroughly recommend him.

Sam came to replace our boiler which had come to the end of its life. He was really knowledgeable, giving us lots of information, options and advice on what was best for our flat and circumstances. His quoting was detailed and really accurate. He found lots of extra workarounds to fix other faulty parts of our central heating, and to keep us with hot water for almost all of the refit, which made a big difference to us. Absolutely recommend. Lovely person: pleasure to spend time with. Best tradesperson we've ever had.

It's so nice to find a heating engineer you can trust! We had a problem with our boiler which two others had failed to recognise in the past, but Sam found out the issue straight away. He's friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Have used him several times since, including in an emergency situation when he came round very fast to fix a leak. Issue: Microgenus mffi 23 boiler, low pressure with leak but very high pressure after a while when heating on. Sam was slightly early to our appointment and phoned ahead to check this was ok. He talked me through what was likely to be the issue and was able to resolve it by replacing the faulty part immediately. He also carried out basic checks and was able to let me know that although my boiler was fairly old, it seemed to be in reasonable working condition. He was extremely knowledgable and was happy to take time to discuss all things heating. Cost hour labour and £20 part. 5☆ rating well deserved IMO

We came across Sam at Essential Heating quite by chance as he was instructed to carry out an inspection on behalf of our buyer. Regrettably he found the boiler to be in a dangerous condition. This was obviously quite a shock and very stressful yet I cannot commend him enough for the manner in which he conducted himself having broken the bad news to us. He then shuffled his other work around to set about replacing our boiler a few days later. It was a tricky installation and several issues cropped up, yet he found a solution to them all. All in all we are very pleased with the job that has been done. The work was carried out efficiently, cleanly and I believe with great honesty throughout. If we were not planning moving away from Brighton, then I doubt very much we would ever ring another plumber.
