A lovely pleasant walk. Perfect for a Sunday afternoon with the family, lots of nice views of the river and of the lakes. Plenty of opportunity to catch a glimpse at some wildlife, and on the other side of the river there's some fantastic places to go exploring. Parking can be a little difficult as there are not a lot of spaces near by. But I will be visiting again when I need somewhere close to home for a walk

Beautiful walk round the Sprotbrough Flash. I really enjoyed my time here and came across a man made railway/gorge used to transport quarried goods by train. It's a very long way down so be careful. Overall I give this place a 4/5 stars because although pretty, the train line next to the River Don is extremely noisy and disturbs the silence. In the photos attached are images I took of the old rail line.

This was my first visit to sprotbrough flash and I really enjoyed the visit. The main path is accessible to wheel chairs and buggies as are the hides and the viewing screen. The main path runs between the river Don and the lake. We decided to come off the main path and cut up through the woods which was beautiful and the path took us up the side of a farmers field and the views from there were beautiful. We took our dog and she really enjoyed it. Dogs must be kept on a lead in certain protected areas of the reserve. The path eventually brings you back out to the boat inn where you can get something to eat and drink. There are many more paths to explore so we will definitely be visiting again. Only downside is the car park is too small but luckily there are a few lay bys to park in. Also no toilets and not enough rubbish bins.

Free to walk around nature reserve, looked after by the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust. There are a couple of hides where you can sit and observe the local wildlife, which includes the usual Swans, Mallards, Cormorants, and Coots, and if you are lucky Kingfishers, Grebes, Bitterns,

This is an outstanding area of beauty, situated along the Don gorge at the side of Sprotborough Falls. I walk or ride along the Don on the TPT (Trans Penine Trail) quite often with my partner and the dogs and pass the Flash. It's a place that's beautiful no matter what time of year. In the summer this year we spotted the local king fisher. He/she was sat on a post not 20 yards away looking around with not a care in the world. If you're in the area be sure to go. After a nice walk you can always pop into The Boat Inn for a bite to eat and maybe something to drink.

A great place for a very long walk or a bike by the water by the river. Beautiful views. You can meet the end if you know where :). The downside is no toilet. Parking Small, sometimes little space, but it's worth being there.

Nice walk around the reserve with a few bird watching positions near the river. Circular walk takes around an hour from the Boat Inn pub. No fee to enter/walk around the reserve. No dedicated parking though a few spaces near the pub. With parking in Sprotbrough and waking down to the reserve.

Beautiful place for walking and loads of wildlife, the Transpennine Trail goes straight through the nature reserve so you can walk as far as you want. The area is great for wheelchairs users and prams because pretty much all the trail in that area is tarmac so useable for all, a visit to the Boat Inn, yards from the footpath, is recommended aswell.

There are three hides which allow you to watch the birds on the lake, ducks, swans, cormorants, sparrow hawk, heron, egret. Good place to walk even when it's raining.

We love the flash it has great walks, for all age ranges .You can see the local rowing club practicing on the water and the barges moored up on a sunny Sunday morning with friendly owners waving to passers bye.And best of all its free.

Beautiful place. Tons to see. Tarmac paths are easy to navigate. Visitors beware though...I've been eaten alive by mosquito bites!

I visited as a live on board boat owner so its somewhere to stop for a few days. Enjoyed my stay but noisy when the trip boat Wyre Lady comes past about midnight with a load of drunk passengers. Luckily not every night. Didnt go in the pub just watched telly on the moorings.

(Translated) Cool place to walk, but quite difficult to find a place to park the car especially on weekends. The road along the river quite narrow and you have to watch out for cyclists. (Original) Miejsce na spacer fajne, ale dość trudno znaleźć miejsce do zaparkowania auta szczególnie w weekendy. Droga wzdłóż rzeki dość wąska i trzeba uważać na rowerzystów.
