A very special cimema dedicated to doc films. Have been an avid fan for 5 years +.. the range and variety of films/ film makers opens ones eyes to the world around us. An amazing provision with a community feel. These guys love documentary and it really shows. Highly recommended.

I joined the Curzon because of the Bertha Dochouse and I love it. Get to see as many documentaries as I can. Wonderful selection of films and the cinema and surroundings are perfect. Curzon have just opened five new screens in Camden and I hope that the Dochouse will consider screening some of their films there. Perfect area for their audience. Here's hoping.

A visit to the cinema is only as rewarding as the film seen allows it to be. Selective viewing in DocHouse has potential but there are no guarantees.

The Bertha Doc House is one of my favourite things about London. I always come out of the cinema feeling inspired and invigorated by their expertly curated documentaries - and always learn something new. During the COVID-19 pandemic the team have put an amazing amount of effort into providing online content, much of it free and many with Q&As from Directors, Producers and others. In a time where it is easy to feel devoid of culture and new things like the present the team behind the Doc House have really given me and so many others something so important. I cannot wait to return in person when it is safe to do so.

Easily one of London's best cinemas.
I had the pleasure of seeing 3 films in the Bertha Dochouse cinema in 2019, and enjoyed every single one. Not only is the selection of films incredible and reliable, but their curation of events featuring directors, journalists and commentators is brilliant too. The space has a great bar and snacks section, meaning (once reopened!) you can indulge yourself with a beer or wine from a "proper" glass during the film, as well as the staple tub of popcorn and packet of sweets.
As an introvert who likes to keep busy this cinema is a perfect evening destination - an easy pick when you just want to find something educational, inspiring, or interesting to do in the city. I can't wait to celebrate the end of lockdown with a visit to this venue, but while we all wait, their online presence has been keeping film buffs going, so check virtual screenings if you can't wait till summer!

Love the DocHouse and that it exists.
Great films, comfy chairs. Only downside is that the screens aren't bigger so popular screenings sell out quick. During the pandemic they have put on an amazing range of online viewings and still foster the doc community in a positive way (also thanks to their whatsapp group).

Watched the Korean documentary, Weekends online. Loved it. Would not have had the opportunity to watch it otherwise. Great platform. Looking forward to many more exciting discoveries.

Great little cinema hosting a wide range of doc styles and events. Their online content is also truly worth following - a must for non-fiction fans and the Doc-curious.

The best film programming in London, the best atmosphere in London. An absolute jewel. Have been a member since 2016! Top marks

I am not a documentary film buff, but I really enjoy watching them - so over the last few years Bertha DocHouse has become my place for discovery! During lockdown particularly the programming has been so good, with lots of Q&As as well as films, and they’ve been so inventive at making it a lively community. I’d recommend joining the WhatsApp group for their recommendations and to get updates on what’s on.

I can't wait for Bertha DocHouse to reopen, it's totally unique programming makes it one of the top cinemas in the capital. They have a really innovative programme of Q&A sessions too, which are a total joy. They have been unbelievably active during lockdown, the chat group they run is really active and the workshops, streaming and social events and creative competitions have been inspiring, I can't think of an arts organisation which has put in more effort. I went to the 'desktop docs' workshop this week and it blew me away. We desperately need more organisations like this during these dark time, inspiring, inclusive and empowering. Bertha DocHouse has been a vibrant cultural beacon in these challenging times and I feel so grateful to the team for their hard work and dedication.

A great documentary group with an array of helpful seminars on a wide variety of subjects. Recommend highly!

Great as a cinema and centre of documentary filmmaker talks. During the Covid pandemic, they've also been running an excellent programme of online events and networking, as well as sharing info and generally keeping the community of doc-makers and doc-lovers alive and interacting

This is a great venue. I watch as many documentaries as possible, now I can do it somewhere focused on what I like doing anyway.

Always a pleasure. It's my favourite location of all the Curzons. Good range of docs, and reasonable representation regarding diversity in film. They're taking social distancing seriously and this is greatly appreciated.

The best place in London (if not the whole UK) for seeing documentary film. The dedicated screen at the Curzon Bloomsbury is initimate with great reclining leather seats. I've been coming to the DocHouse screenings for years and they never fail to be thought provoking, insightful and engaging. There are also regular directors Q&As after some premiers. Highly recommended!

Hands down, my favourite place in London. Everything I’ve seen at the Dochouse has been fascinating, educational and inspiring and the setting is just perfect. Intimate and peaceful, this lovely hidden away cinema has become a real place of refuge for me. Tasty nibbles and drinks are available on every floor of the cinema also. I thoroughly recommend the Dochouse to anyone seeking inspiration and an hour or so of calmness.

I haven't had the chance to visit the Bertha Doc House at the cinema but have loved the online screenings, curation and masterclasses throughout lockdown. This is an amazing resource. Please keep going!

I've grown to really love Bertha DocHouse over the past year or so since I started going. I've seen some amazing and mind expanding documentaries, which have altered my cinema going habits. Previously I was inclined to just go see 'movies'. This has changed.
It would be amazing if DocHouse could expand in some way so people who don't live within access of Bloomsbury could see what is screened at DocHouse. Perhaps Curzon could do something like what Picturehouse do with their 'Discover Tuesdays' and screen documentaries at certain times across more locations? Or even create an App where curated docs can be viewed for a fee?

One of London's hidden gems. Hidden in the basement of the Curzon Bloomsbury (make sure you don't accidentally enter the other, larger screen on the same floor). The documentaries they screen here are always carefully chosen, and the picture and sound are of excellent quality.

Bertha DocHouse is brilliant. Not only do they run a programme of wide-ranging and fascinating documentaries, they've managed to active and relevant during the Covid19 with digital streaming and Q&As

An opportunity to see films you may not otherwise discover. Films made with passion and opportunities to meet with the makers. A wonderful resource.
R. C.
I love this cinema and even now that it’s closed the online events and screenings are like a lighthouse in these dark times, absolutely recommended!

Bertha dochouse shows films that you don't see elsewhere. Films that are dynamic and insightful about other nations and issues of the day. I really value this place.
K. A.
A wonderful cinema run by a passionate and committed team that makes the visit to the cinema a real engagement with the films and their makers
L. S.
Absolutely love the DocHouse. The £5 before 5pm tickets are a bargain. The cinema itself is luxury. Love it.
A. B.
Seats a little tight with very little leg room but lovely staff. I saw the great film Apostasy there in August 2018.

Great online offerings - wide selection of topics and quality docs with great Q&A sessions offered.
