I normally don't write reviews but after I was treated by the osteopath Torben Hersborg, I felt compelled to write something to share my extremely positive experience. I was initially treated by another osteopath but after the first session, I started suffering from extreme pains, headaches, nausea and lack of appetite. I was ready to go to A&C as the osteopath I was treated by could not be contacted and it was New Year's eve. Luckily enough for me the Central London Osteopathy and Sports Clinic was open and that day I had my first session with Torben. Immediately after that all the symptoms caused by treatment by the previous osteopath started disappearing and this way I managed to celebrate the New Year like a normal human being! I continued been treated by Torben and after a few sessions my initial symptoms started disappearing. As I had no prior experience with osteopathy, at first I thought that every qualified osteopath would do the job but I was wrong. I found out the hard way that unless the osteopath has a huge experience knowledge, talent and truly caring about the patient, there is a high probability that the outcome could be devastating. Torben is extremely knowledgeable, experienced, and has the ability to evaluate one's body condition and weaknesses at a glance. This way he tailors his treatment around each individual's needs. His movements are fast, confident and always effective and knows exactly where to press and at what strength. He truly cares about people and can be easily contacted in case of emergency. Reception at the clinic are very helpful and in general their ethos is very positive, friendly, helpful and flexible. Thank you very very much!

On top of a large disc herniation I suffered from an acute lumbago and had been completely immobilised for three weeks when I met Fabio Bastile at the London Osteopath. After two treatments I was back on my feet and the cramps were completely gone. Fabio have continued his excellent practice and at the time of writing helps me getting back from the disc herniation. I have had treatments from a large number of osteopaths/chiropractors and none of them have come close to Fabio's skills. I warmly recommend him and the clinic!

I’ve been seeing Torben for just over 2 years now and this review is a long time coming. I suffer from neck pains which occur when I pull a muscle- often from doing the most ridiculous things like waking up in the morning and lifting the kettle to boil some water! When I get these spasms the pain is excruciating and I find it impossible to do or think about anything else. To put things into perspective, in the morning of the day I was due to take part in the 2016 Dunwich Dynamo- an annual 200km night ride from London Fields in Hackey to Dunwich on the Suffolk Coast- I went to see Torben as I’d pulled a neck muscle the night before but was determined to ride. He was able to see me at short notice, I couldn’t even drive there my husband had to do it. I completed the challenge in just under 10 hours. Torben is clearly a gifted man who has a deep understanding of the bodies structural set up. Sadly Torben is no longer covered by Bupa, which was how I’d managed to see him in the past. As per usual this is down to big insurance companies deciding what therapy professionals should be charged and using a blanket fee to cap their costs. All without having the foggiest idea that one osteo to the next is very different. So, although I was saddened to find he hadn’t renewed his licence it was a fair decision. But when something works there is no point in looking for a substitute. I’ll be seeing you as per usual Torben.

I cannot even put into words how amazing this man is. I have been to 3 appointments and already the difference in my neck, back and arm is incredible. Last October I injured my neck whilst dance training. I lost strength and the use of my right arm and I was suffering from chronic pain and pins and needles down the right hand side of my arm. They also twisted my knee after a ski accident I had and the best surprise was when they managed to remove some stones from my parotid (salivary gland) only by massaging it, when the ENT specialist was referring me to a surgeon!

I have been seeing Diluka for at least 6 or 7 years now, and cannot recommend her enough. Before seeing Diluka I had been suffering with a very bad back for about 3 years and was in pain most of the time. I had seen many chiropractors and osteopaths at different clinics, but nothing ever really worked for me – and then finally I got an appointment to see Diluka! It sounds overly dramatic, but that appointment really did change my life forever! I had forgotten what it was like not to suffer with back pain! I now see Diluka about every 6 – 8 weeks just to make sure everything is in ship shape. If I ever do feel in any pain, or anything isn’t quite right, I see Diluka immediately and most of the time the issue is resolved in 1 session with her. I have been plagued with back trouble since I slipped a disc in my youth. What used to be a huge problem, rendering me immobile, with copious quantities of pain killers, quite suddenly became bearable when on the advice of a friend I dragged myself to the clinic. After three sessions of treatment it was as if I had been given a new body. I cannot recommend the care and attention that I received strongly enough. The physiotherapy and various drugs that the NHS supplied never fixed things for me, my trip to this practice has been a life saver. Now I return maybe once a year or once every two years, it's become a bit like an MOT. If I have been ill or undergone surgery ( it happens with age!) I can feel the old problem niggling away... it's then that I take myself of to Hoxton, safe in the knowledge that I'll walk out of the door upright, feeling my full height once again.

I have known Torben for twenty years he has remained as humble as the first time I saw him, I had been to other osteopaths in the past but none of them could help my slipped disc until I met Torben, after the first of three treatments it started to mend and did so until finally there was no more pain, recently I had a bad pain in the neck and could not turn my head I now live in cambridgeshire and had been suffering for weeks I knew the only way to free the pain was to go to London to see Torben he was kind enough to see me out of hours he also noticed I was wearing a wrist support because I sprained it lifting weights and he treated that also, there is no more pain in my neck and there is no pain in my wrist, while we were there my wife mentioned a pain in her back and he treated that also she is 75% better I am sure another one or two more treatments and she will be 100%, if you are in pain there is no need to suffer just go and see Torben he is truly gifted and is a kind hearted soul. I first (and last) saw Torben 21 years ago. He made a lasting impression because I had been seeing a physio for a nerve I had pulled in my spine from sitting badly and working long hours. Anyway, things were not improving so I decided to see an Osteopath. In one session, he made me well, which I never forgot. I have recommended countless people to him over the years. Last January I had a motorcycle accident. Since then I have been having physio, I still suffer with injuries to my neck and arm. I was told by the physio recently that my condition had not improved in 8 sessions and there was not much she could do for me anymore. I decided to see Torben again. I wish I had gone sooner. I saw him on Wednesday night and he performed miracles.As a result, I have more range of motion in both my neck and arm now and am delighted with the results. I cannot recommend him anymore. I've seen lots of physiotherapist, chiropractors and osteopaths in my time as I'm a long term sufferer of back pain and unfortunately none have helped me as I'm usually in pain 24 hours a day every day. I say usually until I was advised to visit the Central London Osteopathy & Sports Injury Clinic and see Torben. I have never felt so much relief in the 20+ years I've been suffering with back and neck pain. There are some days when I'm actually pain free so I now have hope of having a full recovery soon. The staff are friendly, Torben is great. The practice is easy to find. I'd definitely recommend seeing him over any one else as that's how confident I am and I never recommend anyone. I'm also impressed how the clinic puts your recovery above everything else seeing me after my appointment just to ensure they can speed up my recovery and relieve the severe pain I was in.

Fixed a slipped disc in my back. I can’t explain how good Torbin is. I had horrific pain for two weeks all down my left leg and feet, toes were numb, found out I had slipped a disc, 24/7 agony. Knowing Covid was keeping things closed I somehow got lucky and was referred to Torbin in Shoreditch. I arrived, got given a mask and cleaning facilities which put me at ease, Torbin was also in full PPE, assessed me and treated me by cracking me all over. Had a second session a week later and this morning I woke up for the first time with no pain, I can’t explain how crazy that felt to me, went in again today for my third treatment and I’m actually looking forward to waking up tomorrow. Before a friend luckily recommended Central London Osteopathy to me I had undergone a wide range of treatment from some amazing bodyworkers, some experts in their field. I had a fall on my wrist that uncovered a serious RSI injury I had built up over years of playing musical instruments with unnecessary tension. My standards were already pretty high as I had made some great progress with the treatment I had received. However, since my first treatment with Torben some years ago I was flabbergasted. I actually remember finding it both baffling and hilarious that someone could be so effective, and in only 20 minutes! Torben is a true master of his craft and such a nice guy too! He shows you your weakness, makes some highly skilled adjustments and then when you test your strength with your new structural integrity you will be amazed to discover you now have the strength of superman! I had one persistent problem that Torben treated a few times. He doesn't mess around or waste your time, so after a few sessions with my issue not budging, Torben referred me to Rob Galloway in his clinic, who works as a kinesiologist amongst other treatment modalities. Torben knew that there must be something else going on as I was not getting the expected results. Sure enough, Rob discovered some nutrient imbalances and food intolerances in me that were greatly affecting my ability to assimilate all the nutrition I needed and therefore causing muscle weakness. I have now changed my diet and feel so much healthier! Since this discovery I have had a few other issues (a broken toe, a damaged rib) and each time Torben is my first choice. I have now moved to Brighton but will still travel up to London for a treatment with Torben. This is not because there aren't other good therapists out there. But once you have experienced the best there is no reason to settle for mediocre. Any time someone asks me for a bodyworker, I recommend Torben. The amount of therapists I have seen over the years goes well into double figures - in 20 minutes Torben can do more than anyone else I've seen can do in an hour. Couldn't recommend highly enough, thank you Torben!

I have moderate lower back pain sciatica stuff, it comes up maybe once every year to two years, I go see Torben, he checks my mobility, spends thirty minutes working, and I’m fixed. I am so pleased I found Torben. Actually it was my son who found him first. In his early 20's he'd had problems with his right shoulder after a fall and couldn't sleep on his right side for five years. Numerous visits to the doctors but after only two sessions with Torben, he was fine. So I went. I had this headache coming all the way up from my neck which felt really stiff and painful, also pain radiated down my back. Probably due to my poor posture at work but I just could not get rid of the pain and discomfort. Dan sorted me out in two appointments. I had been suffering from a really debilitating IT band injury for months which kept me from running no more than 3 miles without feeling excruciating pain. I have been advised to go and see Torben after 4 osteo failed to give me any explanation about a sharp pain in my shoulder that I knew was related to a stupid fall, 2 years ago. Some of them tried to convince me that I was perfectly fine, others told me to stop exercising and the pain would go away. It never did. As a last resort, I booked an appointment with Torben, just to see what he would say. It happened as it usually does: "take off your shirt, look here, look there, touch your toes." The difference being that Torben grabbed my wrist, and asked me to push forward. The crack in my shoulder has been amazingly noisy but I knew, instantly, that the trapped muscle/nerve/who-knows had been released. The pain went away instantly. On the same day, I was back in the gym, working out as I did before the fall. I went back a week later to finish off the session, and Torben released the remaining slight pinch in my shoulder in seconds. He probably didn't save my life but it's exactly how I felt when I left the clinic, in a complete high. And on top of that, he's a nice bloke! Would I recommend the clinic? 200%

Some seven years ago, I suffered a severe spinal injury and had several discs dislocated (lower and middle part of my spine). It took me some two weeks to slowly start walking again and I have been living with pain ever since. I first visited Torben four years ago when I suffered another "episode" and I needed intensive care. I saw him for a few sessions, which proved incredible and did not have anyone treat my back after him. Two days ago, I was getting ready for work and my lower back gave in again. Going through intense pain and just having a 20 minute session, I cannot explain the euphoria after.
