B. B.Very nice clean site. I would recommend this camp site for a city break. As you go out of the site, there are loads of buses going to London, and other places. Lots of shops locally. Supermarkets within walking distance. Great site, when we were there is was a bit noisy, what with the election of the crystal palace festival, so I don't suppose it's like that all the time. Lots of hardstand pitches and grass pitches. They also have a tent part with there own showers and toilets.
R. H.Excellent site tucked away in a lovely location for exploring London. Very clean and tidy site and a very warm welcome upon arrival. We had a hardstanding pitch. Lots of lovely trees and greenery so its so peaceful after a busy day in the city of London. Number 3 buses run 24 hours from just up the road...we also walked 20 mins from the site to crystal palace overground station which takes you straight into Victoria Station. Will definitely be back to this site 😁

V.The camping is a 10 plus…friendly, clean and beautifully park on the top of Londen..couldn’t wish for more…went into the center by bike…just stay on the buslane and take your space…my car is LEZ 6..so no emission charge getting into the city…crystel palace little shopping center just 500 meters away is amazing..beautifull shops and little cafe..very cozy…I loved it!

G.Everything you expect from a Caravan and Motor home Club Site. 7 Miles from Central London. 8 minutes walk to the Number 3 Bus into Whitehall which runs all night so easy for you to get back if you want to see a show. 15 minutes walk to the Railway Station. Right next to Crystal Palace Park and the National Sports Centre.
M. G.So few campsites in the London area that this deserves 4* just for being open. We were there at the start of March, so perhaps understandable that a disproportionate number of “campers” were workers rather than tourists. That does mean that there is a little more noise than you’d usually expect first thing. I was a little worried about having to go 360 degrees around a mini-roundabout on exit - and not happy that the warden wasn’t able to suggest an alternative or offer reassurance - but in the end the worries were unfounded and managed to tow our 8m twin axle round with room to spare. Also, the neighbouring TV transmitter did interfere with our motor mover. I’ve seen this mentioned in other reviews as well… but disappointing that this is not mentioned on the CAMC website!

Number 3 bus short walk away a great service gets you into the heart of London in forty or so minutes. Pay with card or phone on the buses. Would definitely stay here again to visit London sites.

B. B.Great little campsite hidden away in London, run by a great friendly and helpful couple.
Handy but basic shop.
You can pay by card for campsite fee but you need cash for shop purchases so have some ready for supplies.
Sainsbury's supermarket plus a stack of shops, bars and eatery's close by if you don't fancy cooking.
Traffic is loud at night despite the high surrounding wall so earplugs or earphones advisable.
That said, we were in our roof top tent so we were definitely much higher than ground level and nearer wall top height.
Ground tents were probably much quieter.
Toilets, showers and dish washing areas all very good, very clean and well maintained.
Would use again and happily recommend it.👍👌
K. M.Well kept, safe surroundings. The dog area was secure, the park was 100m from the entrance. An ideal base for exploring London, train station was a 15 min walk away. The facilities were clean, social distance measures applied and staff were helpful. Would definitely return to visit our friends again.

R. S.Nice and clean site, good facilities, very welcoming and helpful staff. Reasonable access, to site. There is a large mast nearby that may interference with phones, but unless you look up you will hardly notice it due to trees etc around the site. Buses to central London are good and easy to get to, train station is a good walk away from site and uphill on return. Train is not much quicker than bus anyway by the time you have got to station and possibly changed trains.

S. B.Brilliant location. The hosts were also very welcoming and the site itself was clean and well looked after. All I can see are trees and all I can hear is nature. Parakeets singing in the trees, robins following the caretaker in his truck and foxes playing at night as well as an owl.
Great location for jumping on buses and trains and so pleased to have found somewhere to stay this close to London. I hope we will return as soon as possible
p.Was doing work here (CPES), this site i rather a nice place to visit the site is very well kept, and the wardens are rather friendly, and the wild parrots. I had a robin follow me around after I gave him/her some food

Nice friendly staff.
C.We stayed here so we could catch the bus into London to see a play. It was ideal, a short walk to the bus stop with buses every 10 minutes. The site was lovely, surrounded by trees and in the snow looked very picturesque. You can't hear the road but you can hear the sirens. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Disabled facilities were ideal. We will definitely come again.

A. L.Great camp ground, lovely staff. Excellent clean and has all the things you need in a camp ground. The bathrooms are outdated but very functional, with really hot water in the showers and hair dryers what else do you need?
Access to the city is possibly better by bus then by the tube, as it is not a great service from the Crystal Palace station unless you can navigate the tube well.

A. W.3rd year staying here whilst working at the Wimbledon championships and another year where you can’t fault it. Brilliant facilities for a campsite in London, of which are few and far between! Run by very friendly and helpful staff you’re made to feel welcome from the offset! Granted the campsite is situated right by a main road, you experience a little bit of traffic noise in the evening and early morning but what else do you expect for London?
Nothing short of a 5 star place!
A. M. B.From a first time campers prospective the camps site was clean and well maintained. The facilities available consisted of 4 pasword protected toilet stalls, password protected shower stalls, a really good sized area to wash-up and more, all share a roof.
The pitch that we used had low cut grass and was absent of leaves and stick.
For the most of or stay we were left to enjoy ourselves. The staff were very curt and somewhat aggressive when we set up an open fire as we had seen another camper do, however this was quickly defused.

Its a shame though its only gonna be around till the beginning of next year, as the councils already bought the site and is planning to build blocks of flats. I wish I knew it was there sooner. D. S.Great site. We visit regularly..2 or 3 times a year. Clean, friendly site with easy access into London by bus or train. Site Managers and staff are really friendly and always helpful. During this COVID pandemic this is a site where you feel safe...toilets and showers spotless and 'band' system used so no more than 3 people at one time in the facilities. As my son lives 10 mins away it will be very sad if this site closes.

C. A.We had three nights here the site wasn't full but there were quite a few vans and motorhomes on site, the facilities were open with restrictions (Covid) but everything worked well and they were clean and warm.
We had a couple of days sightseeing in London, the site is served with an excellent bus service and trains into the capital. Also a nice little town around the corner with plenty of shops and bars and a big Sainsbury for the essentials.

C. J.We visit this campsite every year for our annual trip to London.
The shower facilities are not like what you would usually find at your average campsite. They are hot, and powerful and you don’t need to keep pressing a button for the water to flow.
The campsite is well maintained and clean.
If you want to go into London, you just hop on the number 3 bus at the bottom of the hill near the roundabout. The buses are reliant and frequent so you needn’t worry about transportation back to the campsite late at night.
It’s a shame it is closing down soon. We have a lot of childhood memories here .
P. A.Very good campsite. Well run, clean, organised, friendly and helpful. Showers have plentiful hot running water... which is awesome.. and staff have always been very helpful.
Outside site there are plentiful bus stops to take you all over London quickly and cheaply rather than risk parking fines and congestion charges. Buses run until the early hours allowing you to do most activities and get back again.
Will definitely stay again.

S. D.Excellent site for us with a son living within walking distance. Bus services locally and into central London are close by and frequent. The site is great. We came face to face with the resident fox this time which was our second visit to the site. Definitely will return and hopeful it gets a 'stay of execution' regarding closure plans. Staff are extremely helpful. One word of warning, don't put Sat Nav on quickest route setting. This time ours directed us through Chelsea and some roads too narrow for our motor home. Lots of reversing fun! Best route from south west is via A205 south circular towards Dulwich area.
I. W.Clean friendly and the best place to stay when visiting the Capital. Easy to get to outside the congestion zone. excellent base for visiting London.
Sadly I hear 2018 will be its last year because the council want to make a quick buck and build houses on the land.
So much for trying to get people to visit the Capitol.
V. M.It's lucky to have such a nice, clean and quiet facility near London. The park is right there, and bus link to the City. The staff is great, too, and the spots fairly wide. Such a shame the council is threatening to sell the land. Hope they don't.
M. H.Although the site is adjacent to the busy road it is protected from the noise by its lush boundary of trees. As well as caravans and motor homes the site (unusually ) also welcomes tents. The toilet facilities are clean and warm in the winter. London Transport buses to Trafalgar Square leave approximately every 10 minutes and take roughly an hour. Connections can be made to all the capitals landmarks. Crystal Palace is a 15 minute walk and a garage nearby sells milk and other basics. Wholeheartedly recommend this site for a London based.

R. N. (. B.Really good cheap way of staying overnight in south London. It's by a busy road and is not a peaceful place. But surprised to find this place in Crystal Palace, I never knew it existed when I lived in the area. The staff are friendly and the toilets very clean. No plug sockets in the sink or shower cubicles. But I'd recommend this as a very cheap stay. We were at a music festival with no camping, so stayed here instead. I'll use it again in future for an overnight stay on the cheap!
P. S.This caravan park is fantastic for those wanting to explore London. The site is clean and neatly kept. The amenities, although old by European standards, are always clean and tidy. Crystal Palace Park is directly behind and is a great place to relax or play. The staff were fantastic. All seasoned travellers offering great advice...with a smile. The number 3 bus is by far the cheapest way to get into London and is close by. It takes you into Oxford Circus in just over an hour and passes all the famous sights....Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, Piccadilly Circus and more. A one way adult ticket is about £1.20 and children under 10 ride free. The train station is also nearby. Although quicker, it is important to check to ensure if your ticket or Oyster Card is valid for the train service. My family and I jumped on a train run by a private company (Southwest Trains) to Victoria Station and charge for the children to ride...London Metro don't!
Crystal Palace town offers a great variety of stores and supermarkets on the High St and has a cool vibe.
All in all...Crystal Palace CP is a fantastic base to explore London and I highly recommend it.

J. H.A good site to stay at when wanting to sightsee in London. It is maintained to a high standard and facilities are convenient. The site is at the corner of Crystal Palace park and is separated by a fence with no access from the park. The site is on a hill, however units are pitched within terraces and the majority on hardstandings with easy and safe access. Buses are frequent into the centre of London and a train station is walking distance away also.
J. B.What a gem of a campsite. One minute your in a city next your in a green oasis. Toilet block lovely and clean site well laid out. The people on site were friendly and very knowledgeable of the area. Just whatch out for the resident fox. We had a lovely stay would recommend
K. L.Expensive but then again it's the only campsite in London. Unfortunately they didn't have the foresight to extend their lease previously so after 28 years it will close for good in 18 months and make way for the developers. Bus into the city is reasonably close by. Staff are friendly and assisted us with printing etc.

The local council have decided to build houses where the site now sits, such a great loss for those of us who like to use this site.

a. r.Goldilocks porridge!!! You find a site that you put in your top ten favourite sites to find out its closing permanently in december. The wardens dont know exactly why. The land is attached to crystall palace park. The original site of the crystal palace. Developers building houses? The site is not to big. Just the right size. Quiet at night. Mainly hard standing. Well landscaped. Good facilities. Good friendly wardens. Easy access for nos 3 bus to trafalger square. PLEASE VISIT before its gone forever. We are coming back later in tbe year for sure. Easy to find as its literaly slap bang next to a tv transmiter tower that looks like the eifel tower. So we got the best tv reception ever. You could get a clear picture off a coat hanger! Some campers using sat dishes. Lots of trees on sites so that might be restricted. One bugbear though charging for wi fi..company policy. With so many free wi fi these days its a bit off putting. On a lake district site we stayed at. There were signal boosters all around the site. This gave you a plug in tv ariel point next to your 240v mains plug. As tbe densely forested site had virtualy no tv signal or sat signal. They said charging for the wifi offset the cost of the booster instalation. We had to buy a 20mtr ariel cable from them though. Personaly I would like a plug in tv point with a boosted tv signal on all sites. Quick easy and neat and tidy.

Providing contradictory information and giving attitude when its not to his satisfaction. Please tell me how im supposed to get a car in the gap as instructed in the handout. Work on your approach and manerism fella. The rest is best left unsaid
P. S.Up to normal standard, easy to reach bus (allow about at least to get to last stop, Trafalgar Square). Train a bit quicker but needs a walk to get to station.

Der beste Campingplatz um London zu besuchen. Hier mussten wir aber 2 Wochen im voraus buchen, weil angeblich alles voll ist. Leider waren am beiden Nächten noch sehr viele Plätze frei. Ich denke es kann man intelligenter lösen und effektiver Befüllen.
Die Sanitäranlagen waren sehr sauber und auch der gesamte Campingplatz machte einen sehr organisierten Eindruck. Der Check-in verlief sehr schnell und war sehr freundlich.
Der viel versprochene CampFuchs überrascht auch mich in der Nacht, aber unsere Schuhe holen wir nachts rein und überliessen sie ihm somit nicht als Beute.
Wir sind meistens mit dem Bus rein in die Londoner City gefahren. Das gestaltet sich am unkomiziertesten und war für die Kids auch gleich ein Erlebnis.
Wir können gern wieder hier her und genießen gern die Ruhe obwohl man so dicht an dieser Metropole parkt.

Toto místo nám doporučila kamarádka, která pochází z Londýna. Za celou rodinu dva dospělí a dvě děti plus obytné auto nás to vyšlo na 30 liber na den. Místo jsme si museli před cestou rezervovat, mají v sezoně plno. Výborná dostupnost do centra. Kousek od kempu je stanice autobusu double decker číslo 3. Což je nejen výborný spoj do centra, ale prakticky jím projíždí a vy jen každý den pobytu vystoupíte na místě, které chcete navštívit. Doporučuji si místo jízdenky zařídit oyster card. Kemp je čistý a ideální cenově dostupná základna pro poznávání Londýna levně.
