Reviews of London Centre for Book Arts
M. B.
LCBA is one of my favourite communities in London! Letterpress printing is a casual hobby of mine, so the first thing I did when I moved to London nearly two years ago was find a community book arts studio. Simon and Ira hold amazing classes and they are super helpful when you use the studio on the studio pass. The equipment and resources you have access to in the studio is beyond amazing for a community studio. Many of the other artists that use the studio are so friendly, and it is really a great studio to work in. I think that the community is great for everyone, from casual beginners to experienced professionals.

Really pleased with the box I made on the LCBA box making course. Lovely space, very knowledgeable and helpful tutors and staff. Looking forward to my next course!

LCBA is a unique, relaxed and creative environment in which to learn the practical skills for working on self-initiated projects. The workshops and range of equipment for printing and binding is great and the generous way the Centre is run encourages skill sharing and helps to support the communities around artist led publishing. Great shop there too with a range of independent publications and bookbinding tools and materials.

While on a long stay in the UK, I went to the LCBA almost daily to further my bookbinding skills and work on projects. What a great resource for visitors or Londoners who want to bookbind or do letterpress! The equipment and materials available, the range of workshops and classes, the supportive environment, I can't say enough good things.

I love this place, a great atmosphere whether signing up for one of the brilliant classes or just popping into the interesting and well stocked shop. Friendly and knowledgable staff. If you are into books, design or anything creative, this is coolest place.
