Reviews of Shakespeare's Globe

The guided tour was very informative and engaging. The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and the staff was very friendly. The tour takes about an hour. My 5 yr old and 2 yr old stayed engaged and enjoyed seeing the old theatre.
There was also a sword fighting demonstration we attended. The knowledge and skills displayed were incredible. Highly recommend.

Have been to the Globe a few times in the past year and they've been really enjoyable experiences. Staff are really warm and friendly, taking pride in their job.
The theatre itself is beautiful and the plays are fantastic. Both Romeo and Juliet, and a Midsummer Night's Dream are brilliant, with slight modern twists and brilliant casts.
The globe also let's you bring in your own food and drink, but no glass.

The place is of a great and astonishing history, and it is what left from the 16th century and the first rounded theatre in the world! It has the chairs of the rich and the space for the poor, also, it doesn’t have curtains, and it’s as mentioned in art history books!
However, I booked the guided tour and I can say that the guide ruined the experience since she actually started from the 1900s and her tone was not attaching at all. I guess a better guide would make the experience way better!

If you are booking seats the only advice I'd give is to look directly at the stage from the middle section.
If you can cope with standing that's the most immersive way to see the play.
The RSC are brilliant and really do bring entertainment to the masses.
My advice is buy your food and drink from outside the venue as it's pretty pricey inside. The gift shop is great too.

Unfortunately, I was too pressed for time during my handful of days in London to be able to take in a show at the Globe, but I knew that it was still a must stop, at the very least, to keep one of my best friends, an actor, for stringing me up in guide wires for missing the opportunity.
Back home in Oregon, we are blessed with a similar, Shakespearean theater in Ashland, made in the image of this iconic landmark, so in a way, I've "seen it all before". But there's just something about the originals, isn't there? Just thinking about all the stories that have been told in this place, going back over 400 years, is staggering, even if the current building is less than
a quarter of a century old.
Like my visit to the Moulin Rouge, I'll always regret missing an opportunity to see a show here, but both of these mistakes I intend to rectify in the future. I mean, if you're going to see a play anywhere, why wouldn't it be here?
A must stop for every patron, patrician or plebe (like me)!

The play was very nice, it was an enclosed theater, so it was warm in January, be ready to sit on a bench for three hours. Might worth to select the seats close to the walls.

No surprises here, exceptional venue, exceptional performance, even the sausage roll was absolutely delicious! Time nad money well spent and as soon as we are bale to get more tickets we will go again, and again!

Lovely atmosphere and a great show (we watched the Twelfth night). Just wish the seats were a bit more comfy. For £65 one shouldn't sit on a narrow strip of wood with no back rest!

Twelfth Night, Brilliant! I loved it! Actors were phenomenal! Just so happened to meet one of the actors after the play... Rachel and she was lovely... kindly autographed my newly purchased Twelfth Night book!
Members of staff really welcoming and helpful... from the booking office, information desk, memorabilia shop and stewards.
Looking forward to my next visit!
