I use to play here some weekends during 1982-1985. I had a lot of fun running on the timber, swinging on ropes etc. I once asked the staff if he thought it was dangerous. His response was to just be careful! There use to be a cabin which sometimes opened to show films. I recall there being a table tennis table and table football and other. The staff member of the time was approachable but strict! Everything was orderly here! I was once with friends and was nearly attacked by someone bearing a knife. We ran for our lives. Luckily, a school friends family owned the local Fish & Chips shop (Best Fish & Chips), so we ran in there. The police was called and we was supported and comforted by the father of my school peer. We was given a free portion of chips, which was delicious (I returned for a bag everyday following school to buy a small bag which I recall being £0.35

Nice big park. Great for family days/picnics. They also have designated areas for dogs and they also have toilets.

It's a very good park and playground with a beautiful view and lots of amenities for the the children to enjoy. Good park for the family.

Regardless of the space constraints find playgrounds, outdoor gym, a conservation area and an adventure playground. A grassed area, attended contemporary landscaping with maintained shrubs and plants that add to the cachet. Even the graffiti here behaves itself. An exemplary local amenity.

I like Slade gardens adventure playground, I loved hanging out there for teenage years, now I'm too old. But I'd recommend if you don't know what yo do with a group of teenagers.

Attended a 6yr old's birthday party. Great place for active kids and their parents. Lots of fun things to do that include climbing and swinging. I was able to chill a bit while my 6yr old was having the time of his life. Great indoor facilities in addition to the outdoors.

green tranquil oasis that is popular with old and young. The facilities enclosed children's play area, enclosed nature reserve, enclosed dog exercising area and exercising area are amazing for a relatively small park. It's also very well looked after by Lambeth. A little treasure.

Since early 70s IV been coming here, I'm happy how they have invested in the park but I can't help thinking why it didn't happen before the gentrification of #mybrixton, it's a fantastic little park even though some of the newer people are..... how can I put this politely 'up their own arses' It's not Clapham, or Chelsea or Shoreditch it's Brixton multicultural 💞

Would give it a 5 if the calisthenics park wasn't blocked off due to lockdown. Completely unnecessary. Bad enough that gyms are closed but to stop people exercising outdoors is just despicable.

A small local park. I Iike it as it's nearby, certainly wouldn't travel to it. It could definitely be cleaner and all of the benches seem to be situated in the sun so you can't have bench and shade! Theres some exercise equipment on one area, a small children's play area and an adventure playground for bigger children. All these areas are padlocked closed though during lockdown.

Slade Gardens is a open park where people can take a seat and rest their feet. There is a adventure playground for the kids to play outside and also a indoor area to do some creative activities and get some refreshments.

These gardens are a fresh & refreshing change from the usual roads, minimum wage jobs and non-gardens that you often encounter when you turn off the telly and leave the house. There are so many trees in this park and many blades of grass dependent on season.

Walking towards Brixton, in South London, this guy in front of me suddenly hit the deck. He was, completely out of it as it turned out; high on cheap, bad booze and drugs of some kind. Two men were standing at a nearby bus stop went to his aid as the guy collapsed right in front of them. He fell, across the pavement and the road; cars continued to drive fast past him, not caring that a fellow 'human being' needed help. I eventually reached the scene as I was walk in with a cane and offered my help as no one was taking charge of the situation as the incident, was beyond their remit. I had seen this many times before shooting poor, drunk and drug-addicted 'street people' around the world. I knew he had a seizure and had to keep him calm and safe until the professionals arrived. So, I directed them to try and get him, persuade him to sit on the pavement; I also enquired if an ambulance had been called; it had. I continued to shoot during all this. Eventually, the paramedics arrived and talk charge
