Reviews of Abraham Lincoln Statue

The whole street has been refurbished and looks great apart from the skaters
J. L.
Nice quiet place in the heart of the city centre.
T. D.
They have turned him around ☺️ 👍 He used to look East now he looks north ? Is there a reason for this ?☺️
M. M. S.
Nice spot and fascinating link of Manchester with Abraham Lincoln and his cause. You can listen to his letter to the people of Manchester.

Very quiet.

Nice little square to sit and take a break while touring around the city, during Christmas, you can find there a variety of Christmas markets selling food! Remember to scan Lincoln's statue to tell you his story! This is one of the talking statues in Manchester

I only walked past didn't even notice it but one thing is for sure it should stay up
S. A.
Nice statue but it would look better if he had grey hair and a long bear. You know the Davinci style
D. C.
Building next to it is prepared for demolition. So is closed up. Other than that. Just have a sit and relax for a couple of minutes with a coffee from Caffè Nero.

A lovely quiet square just near the Town Hall. Learn the interesting history of Manchester's link with the US civil war if you can read the statue's plaque.

This statue is from Cincinnati, Ohio and was originally supposed to be across from Westminster Abbey and the Parliament. Individuals within the US government, including Lincoln's son, did not like the rugged Kentucky depiction of Lincoln. Due to the pressure from the US, London took another statue and this one was then placed where it is today.

Nice touch having the interactivity of the statue, however the surrounding settings were not the best, closed down store fronts and litter.
M. A.
Very cool
D. C.
Interesting piece of propaganda. Actually Emancipation Proclamation freed no slaves. Only applied to territory under Confederate control.
B. D.
Nice sculpture. You can take a little break here
r. g.
Nice statue with some history to it, but it could do with a clean, the writing was very difficult to read.

To mark Africa Day 25th May, took a group to see some historic activists. Including a statue of Abraham Lincoln, Mahat Magandi, Mrs Mambu who was first black African Lord Mayor of Manchester.
