D.I haven't been in the hall for over 2 years but it is a convenient and we'll appointed venue for all sorts of events including theatre, dances, fitness classes etc. The difference these days is that the large car park is no longer free of charge. There is no parking meter and payments have to be made by smartphone (read the notices) or a contract arrangement for regular visitors. As a result, whereas the car park used to be busy, now it is usually almost empty apart from the occasional dog walkers and bowlers and nearby streets are used for parking instead. I can't imagine that the local residents are thrilled by this.
