Love this Riverside walk. Can walk from here right up to the A6 at Barton Grange. Ideal for dogs to cool down and get a drink. Good for families with shallow water, stepping stones, rope swing and picnic area. Very attractive. The car park is a little tight so arrive early at peak times. No bins so take your rubbish home!

I loved loved loved this place! It had a very nice atmosphere. We had a very pleasant walk along the river. It was a truly natural and relaxing place. The trail was easy enough. Suitable for people of all ages, including kids and elderly. Will definitely go back, maybe with a picnic next time :)

Brock Bottom is a beautiful, peaceful place. Great for a picnic, or for a walk. There's ruins to explore also. I happened to see a kingfisher last time I visited!

A great place for taking the doggies. They had so much fun paddling in the water and we were happy to walk along the path, which is mostly flat. It's a beauty spot, for sure.

Lovely place. Great for walking and paddling. Definitely paddle in shoes/sandals as it's quite slippy on the rocks. There are footpaths but not suitable for prams or wheelchairs. Plenty of benches for rest stops. There is a car park too.

So many nice things to say about this quiet, serene woodland. Took the dogs,wife and teen, and they all loved it. Gentle River to cool down in. Only 1 negative, no bins so you have to take all litter, and dog waste with you.

Beautiful little place, nice car park basically in the middle of lots of nothing! Nice walks, plenty of paths, plenty of fresh air... Feels nice and secluded, verging on totally wild. Pretty stream/river (depends how much it has been raining!) running through, nice place to take the kids for a walk, tables for a picnic afterwards.... Ground nesting birds in nesting season, keep dogs on leads at all times!

What a great find !! Free parking for about 30 cars and picnic tables with steel plate for bbq's. A very short walk to the river. Take a towel and enjoy the water. Great for kids.

I really want to say don't go its terrible don't go under any circumstances, ( just to keep everyone away, as the really is the opposite!). Lovely small car park and picnic spot next to the river. The water level in the river was low, and very quiet and peaceful. Just water flowing and amazing sounds of birds lovely woodland walks along the river for miles apparently. We hardly scratched the surface. Great for dogs and safe off the lead. Definitely brilliant i guess in all seasons. I repeat don't go!! Please!!

So peaceful and quiet. Only around 20 parking spaces which are free. Surrounded by beautiful scenery and calm. Dog absolutely loved it, swam for a bit in shallow water and enjoyed jumping over rocks. Only downside is there is no bin so any litter needs to be taken with you. 100% would reccomend.

Well maintained and patrolled by friendly staff regularly. Excellent base for walks and picnics in many directions. Relax by the side of the river.

Perfect place to enjoy even on a wet day. You can walk the majority of the path like we did with a pram but it is far from flat and level. Water is cool and refreshing and in places shallow, great for paddling or splashing in wellies. Parking is free but fills up fast.

This is one of the best beauty spots in the area and the start, and end, of many great walks. it's well managed and well maintained and pretty near perfect except.... If you're looking for the peace and quiet of the country then you're better off looking elsewhere. Along with its nearby neighbour, Beacon Fell, it's deservedly popular and liable to be very crowded. Parking can be a serious issue, especially on a Sunday if the weather is reasonable.

Went on a bank holiday weekend and couldn't park anywhere nearby. Parked at a secret location and took a walk back. Its popularity says a lot for the place, but just keep walking and you soon leave the crowd behind. This is a beautiful spot so don't be put off by the fine weather crowd. It is usually deserted in less than perfect weather and just as beautiful.

Didn't actually stop to have a picnic here: Parked up at this picnic site to start a walk/ramble towards Beacon fell and country park complex. Set in lovely countryside and unrivalled views from the top.continued through field paths and walked along the banks of river Brock,through woodland.very muddy in places after recent heavy rain. Then carried on along signposted public footpath and back to car at Brock bottoms picnic site car park. Quite busy when I arrived back.the Brock was very fast flowing and added a charm to the days walking. Starting from the car park,there is a sign for a nature trail,For further exploration if desired.lovely,sunny day and ideal day in ideal rural location for a picnic.

Car Park has plenty of spaces for picnic tables but if people stay to enjoy a walk beside the river then the spaces get used up fast so get here early.

It was quite a drive to get to. Once there the setting was very pleasant with a river running beside the picnic area. Keep an eye on kids not to roam freely as understandably you can get lost easily. The low river can be walked through in some places. 2-3 hours were enough to enjoy the picnic, river, and the walk paths. The parking was free though busy times could be hard to find a space.

Wondeful place although lacking bins and waste facilities. As a popular picnic spot this should really introduce to help minimise litter. It is also very annoying that the gates are closed at 7pm. Finishing work at 5.30pm does not make it reasonable to visit at anytime apart from the weekend.

I brought my 2 boys and dog on Friday when they were on an inset day and we were having a lovely time until men on a shoot were shooting game all around us. One even continued to shoot after seeing us walk right by him. I've never know shoots to happen around the public and my boys were scared. Luckily my dog wasn't too spooked by the noise, which was deafening. It definitely spoiled the walk and hopefully next time there will be none shooting.

Lovely spot with bird feeders in trees round car park but sadly spoilt today by people shooting phesents. The poor birds were dropping after being shot into the river. They were not dead but in great pain as they were washed down the river. Its one of the most cruel things I have seen and should not take place on land open to the public.

Nice chilled out walks and paddling and picnics in the summer. Down side is it's a pupular dog walking area with some of their filthy owners unable to dispose of their black bags of dog poo, just left at side of path or hung on trees. Also no bins or loos.
