Reviews of World of Wedgwood
J. A.
Such a fabulous day at the World of Wedgwood for a Ceramics Experience and Afternoon Tea. It began with a welcome drink in the beautifully decorated restaurant, followed by a tour of the factory with our guide, Penny. She was very knowledgeable and introduced many of the staff by name. Later we enjoyed a delicious, fresh and tasty afternoon tea. Our waitress, Kirsty, had an admirable knowledge of the menu and the teas on offer! After a leisurely break it was up to the clay studio to have a go on potter's wheel, supervised by the very friendly and talented Sam, where we each made a couple of items that will be fired and sent on to us in a couple of weeks. We had a mooch around the shop stocked with items made by the talented folk of Staffordshire, and ended our day with a wander through the V&A ceramics display which was fascinating. All the staff that we spoke to were helpful, informed and eager to please. Highly recommended for a relaxing and fun day. Well done, World of Wedgwood, Josiah would be proud of you!

Amazing experience. The kids get exposure to a new sensory challenge and feel the achievement of making a customised clay 🏺. Next phase is to come and decorate it. The lady was assisting our kids step by step and she is very patient and kind with the children.

History and heritage of Potteries of Wedgwood.
Nice tea room and shops and outlet area.
Shipping internationally is available..

Only had an hour so will return for museum and tour and tearoom what we saw was very inspiring.
L. E.
Brilliant experience. Really enjoyed spending a couple of hours here taking in the museum and the shop and café. Fascinating stuff. Will be back!
E. W.
They have a fine selection of tea and afternoon tea selection. You can have unlimited tea if you get the afternoon tea. The museum is very intriguing and also has some interactive displays which are very interesting.

Ten out of ten. What an amazing place. We started with lunch in the restaurant which was delicious and very high end for every day prices. Next up the factory tour which was brilliant. Informative and really interesting. Finally we hit the potters wheels, having loads of fun. Everywhere was so well finished and really invested in bringing an enjoyable visit. 100%
C. G.
Wonderful day out. Factory tour, afternoon tea, walking trail, and museum tour. Wow.

All staff very friendly and helpful
Really enjoyed it
10/10

Although the tour was interesting, I was slightly disappointed that there wasn't more in the way of demonstrations. The afternoon tea was good ,but the bread could have been fresher and a couple of the fillings were tasteless scones were lovely as were the rest of cakes. But the pot of tea was excellent, with as much as you wanted (Wedgwood brew)

A very nice afternoon out visiting the museum, small restaurant and factory shop. The factory shop is well stocked with some good discounts on slight seconds. The museum is well worth a visit. Plenty of free parking. Even in winter the local countryside was beautiful.
S. P.
World of Wedgewood is an inviting beautiful place to visit. We have been for afternoon tea numerous times and have never been disappointed. The staff are lovely, nothing is too much trouble, the afternoon tea itself is one of the best we have had. Definitely worth visiting...
A. H.
What an amazing day out. We had a factory tour, tea for two and a look around the museum. Staff are great and the whole place is just quality.
A. R.
Quality time! And posh delicious food from Tea Rooms! 😎
D. S.
Loved the painting and pottery classes
Really enjoyable experience
H. W.
Afternoon tea was lovely also the V and A pottery display was fabulous. A very interesting trip which we will repeat.
R. F.
Excellent museum. Tea Conservatory staff were friendly and had a huge range of fancy teas to choose from! Thanks to Leah for giving such good recommendations of the tea and scones. Worth a visit to if you're in the Wedgewood area!
A. H.
Wonderful museum charting Wedgwood manufacturing pottery and the Wedgwood family history. Fantastic tea rooms a dining hall and a pottery experience where you can have a go at creating your own work. Lovely staff and food a large car park and disabled access throughout..
G. Y.
Went along to the monthly Arts & Crafts festival being held, as we'd heard goods things from friends. They weren't wrong. Good mix of stalls, all selling stuff, whether foods or A&C, at sensible prices compared to another popular event which we attend regularly. After an hour or so of pleasant browsing, turned our attention to the World of Wedgewood itself. Stunning displays, an area for kids to 'have a go' and a lovely cafe area - plus a proper Tea Room. We finally managed to find an empty table to enjoy an afternoon tea with sandwiches and scones. All served the way they should be. Bliss.
H. C.
Beautiful displays in a well cared for set of buildings. Kids under 12 are given free entry and Enjoy Staffordshire card-holders (free to get online) get 10% off the entry price (£10 for adults). We had a delightful lunch with retro music playing in the background and great service. Our 11-year old daughter enjoyed making a clay pot and trying to mould something in the clay-play section. We couldn't resist buying a teapot set in the outlet shop - but brace yourself for the prices! The factory part is much better than the one at Cadbury World (which doesn't actually involve any of the factory) as you are able to wander around the whole thing. I probably wouldn't recommend it as a trip for 3-5 year olds but older kids will love the pottery activity (£5 to throw a pot to take home, £15 to have it fired and posted home - we just took the £5 option).
H. G.
Wedgwood was the best. Got to throw a pot.
Then decorate a plate with a cup of tea or three and then to top it all off, a High Tea.
The Museum shows the history and items of interest to Potters and Artists. Thank you to all and especially Jamie at the front desk for her assistance and suggestions and to Natasha for her patience with my drawing until going home time! The High-Tea was not only delicious, but with that extra Wedgwood flair on a rainy cold day brought the warmth and sunshine to the day! The factory was interesting and detailed leaving me with a few ideas and inspiration and itchy fingers to do more. Thank you! Helena from Australia.
R. P.
A lovely collection of pottery made by Wedgwood with lots of fascinating historical information and context to the pieces. There is also a shop selling locally made items, a tea room and outlet store where you can purchase Wedgwood items at a highly discounted price. If you want to partake in afternoon tea whilst you are here, I highly recommend booking in advance.
K. C. G.
If you are looking for some luxury and class in your pottery shopping experience, then World of Wedgwood is for you. Everything is sleek, stylish, and posh. We had the afternoon tea, browsed the shops, and shopped at the outlet store. The factory was closed (only open on weekdays) and we opted to skip the museum, but it is free to walk around. I would definitely love to come back with a little more time to do the tours, and of course do more shopping!
S. R.
I have to recommend the Tea Room; beautiful surroundings, with excellent food and service. Elegant dining at reasonable prices. I had the chickpea and sweet potato pancakes with maple syrup.
M. E.
Excellent Experience Day with factory tour, visit to the museum and shops, afternoon tea and a craft session making some pottery to have delivered once fired. 👍
S. L. (. N. M.
Wonderful high tea and outlet is worth of visit. Surprised good with the exhibition.
S. H. C.
The Views of the Lake at Wedgewood Hall, Barlaston are beautiful. Especially in the summer months.
Take a walk around the lake and have a pint in the nearby pub.
Not to be missed.
D. K.
Great day out. Very informative tour of the factory. Tea Room is beautiful. Lots of people having afternoon tea. Well worth a half day visit.
L. C.
Really nice place to visit. The museum is interesting and the afternoon tea is excellent. The outlet also offers great deals on Wedgwood and Waterford products.
M. C.
Really nice interesting place in nice countryside. Really good museum (free) and good tearooms for very sophisticated tea and Tiffin.
R. S.
We had an amazing time, santa was magical as was the experience . Especially thank you to Laura.
S. C.
The museum is meticulously informative. The tea romm is fabulous. The outlet sales at good price.
N. A.
Visited for some afternoon tea which was absolutely delicious. Very flavoursome! Beautiful decor perfect for some snaps!
Arrived 5-10 early and tried some sample teas at the bar which was nice.
Also had a go at throwing the pot which was fun but felt the staff member did not explain things clearly and was in a hurry to get it done. Hardly had a go at shaping the pot and this was done by her. I would have thought I would have had a go for at least a minute or so but did not. There where times where things got a little awkward as questions were not answered clearly and were given confusing information. Had to clarify a lot of the information such as collection of pots with receptionists who were very informative.
5/5 for afternoon tea and 1/5 for throwing the pot!
A. M.
Well worth a visit beautiful area amazing museum tea rooms artisan Market on certain weekends
F. D.
Very beautiful experience and history was learnt about the heart of stoke on trent and tea was very nice also would go again. Thank you all for an amazing time.
C.
Seen the sign for here many times when driving past on the motorway. Finally made it here and it was definitely worth the visit, what a great place situated on the Wedgwood estate, really needs no introduction. The facilities are really good and shopping experience which is what we all come for is definitely not disappointing . Well worth the visit. Staff both friendly and helpful.
E. P.
Overall nice afternoon tea, only down side it is quite a walk from the car park to the café for anyone with walking difficulties.
J. H.
Independent stalls good, you would need to be interested in history and pottery ,to appreciate this visit
M. !.
Good place to go when they have events or for a quiet coffe cake day.
Follow the walking trail if you like birds.
The warehouse when in sale good place to shop :).
S. P.
Museum is interesting but not in the same league as the Burleigh tour. Very expensive for an "outlet". Cafe was average with minimal offerings if you require dairy-free. They'd run out of soup by 12.25 and were very unwilling to serve any of the breakfast options.
P. W.
Great day out. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Great education venue for all ages. Food and drink 10/10
S. P.
What a fabulous time throwing a pot or two this morning. We had a lovely instructor Emily who managed to save our creations a few times. Perfect 'pottery' anniversary present.
A. N.
A lovely peaceful place for afternoon tea nice ambience lovely friendly staff
E. P.
It's a nice place to visit the museum is interesting there are 2 "cafes" one is for more upmarket and the other more down to earth. It helped us choose a dinner set and our daughter could roam the grounds
S. B.
We have had a fabulous day, had a lovely meal. Thanks to the guys there for being so informative.
R. D.
The afternoon tea is very good, expensive but good, the clay throwing and making little items on a wheel is really good!!
C. C. w. M.
The World of Wedgwood is a beautiful place to visit. It’s lovely garden and woodland to look at outside. The museum of Wedgwood tells visitors the history of Wedgwood business, pottery and ceramics. Their flagship store offers all their brands of products. Everything is so well designed and decorated. We had some delicious tea and cakes in their Tea room. It’s a fantastic experience. The tableware used for serving was gorgeous. Cakes were freshly made. Staffs there were friendly. We would recommend everyone to visit this place.
L. W.
A fantastic day! The staff were amazing. We had a day at Wedgewood for a gift. We had coffee and shortbread when we got there. A brilliant tour of the factory. Afternoon tea and we learnt how to throw pots on a potters wheel. The shops there are lovely. The Victoria and Albert museum there was so interesting. I would definitely go again. There was so much more to see. One of the most interesting and fun days I've had. We'll done Wedgewood.
K. M.
Had a lovely morning. First time going and it will not be the last. Great experience
R. M.
Fabulous few hours. We took in the Museum tour and then Factory tour followed up with afternoon tea which really rounded off a great afternoon.
J. R.
Hidden Gem. Road signs not good. Once found its a lovely place. Demonstrations, tours, cafes and factory shop.
N. T.
Five of us visited World Of Wedgewood yesterday for afternoon tea.
The third time we have done so over the past two years.
We have really enjoyed our previous visits but were disappointed this time.
The teapots arrived on the table with brewed tea already in them - no tea or even teabags in them. One of the pots had to be sent back as the tea was so weak it was almost like hot water!!
Goodness knows why tea leaves are not placed in the teapots and a tea strainer provided.
The other point that let our visit down was the choice of background music being played. In particular the pop song that included several swear words. Not what you expect when taking afternoon tea at World of Wedgewood!!
So overall a disappointing afternoon that cost £137.00
T. H.
Lovely food, excellent service in beautiful surroundings
S. S.
Beautiful setting & good restrictions in place for Covid. Felt very safe & enjoyed a welcome ice cream on the patio.
C. C.
Fantastic service today. 3/9/21
I was looking for a specific vase I rang wedgwoods at Barlaston a really kind lady helped me her was named Julie. She even rang me back to say we have just what you’re looking for
I was able to collect the vase the very same day as they had put one to one side for me
When I got there another lovely lady named Angela said yes I have it right here.
Both these ladies went above and beyond in my opinion. Customer service at its very best.
Thank you so much. The vase will mean so much to the lady I bought it for.
Well done Angela and Julie 💐💐
Well worth a visit
K. M.
Museum is free to visit, great tea selection & plenty of beautiful gifts to buy.
l. j. J.
Amazing range with a meusem and coffee shop. Also check out the tour and outlet store
R. G.
One of the best experiences we've had. The factory tour was interesting and were able to see the workers creating their wares. After the tour we tried our hand at making some simple pots - great fun. Following this we tried our hand at designing a plate or mug. Again, we had a lot of fun. We then had a delicious afternoon tea (suitable for vegetarians) which was full of variety and the portions were very generous. Don't forget to visit the factory museum and the outlet shop.
G. A.
Fascinating history from Wedgewood himself, the Lunar society, canals and so much more. Impossible to take it all in during a short visit. Must come back as well worth several visits. We moored on the Trent Mersey canal at bridge 104 with Wedgewood a 10 minute walk.
Y. M.
Very well organised... 2nd weekend of every month Artisan Market....
Free access to the Museum....
Something for everyone
A. R.
Fabulous place - didn’t want to leave - just lovely!
M. W.
Just like to say me and my friends had a wonderful time the experience of Wedgwood and enjoyed the factory tour and seeing the people at work they should be praised with what they do the people were very helpful very nice the staff who do the cream teas absolutely gorgeous Leah was the one who looked after us but very helpful we are cakes met over and was able to bring them back home
E. M.
Went for a full days experience day and loved it! So much to see and do, great inspiring staff.
S. P.
Great place to visit and good factory shops part of a complete day looking around the potteries
N. H.
Beautiful day out for the China lover and also a great tea room
S. R.
A lovely way to spend a few hours. The artisan market was lovely to wander around. Really fun to throw a pot and doing painting pottery for all ages including adults. Lovely coffee shop. We will definitely visit again in the future!
M. B. (.
The afternoon tea was tasty and the staff were so welcoming!
A. B.
A great day out, very interesting museum and fantastic factory tour. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Lots of history and information, my partner does ceramics and they enjoyed it even more than me! We had afternoon tea in the dining hall which was delightful. We threw our own pots which was great fun! A fantastic and memorable day, and a great price too!
K. W.
Excellent afternoon out. Service was brilliant. Every small requirement of ours was sorted in a friendly, professional way by Kath. Super selection of sandwiches, cakes and fancies. Very good value for money in spotlessly clean, pleasant surroundings. We will certainly re visit with friends
L. P.
Utterly stunning. I visited here around 18 years ago when the museum/tour changed and knew it had evolved into something amazing and we weren't disappointed.
The 'Afternoon Tea' was wonderful and we were so well looked after. The Museum was great with so much to look at. Finally the tour topped off an amazing experience where we felt we weren't encroaching on the factory but still getting to see it close up.
As I said: utterly stunning!
L. H.
Two members of staff offered a free guided tour around the Wedgewood estate and village as part of the heritage week. The staff were informative, friendly and helpful. Social distancing was maintained throughout. At the need of the walk we visited their cafe. Social distancing was maintained. You have to wear a mask to enter the cafe. The cafe is offering take away drinks at reasonable prices. Staff are friendly and helpful.
S. M.
Ahh-amazing! Had a wander through the Museum and was enthralled by the beauty and history of this amazing Pottery and China. Gorgeous colours, spectacular ornamental pieces, decorative plates and cups! Absolutely the highlight of my day. The shop was just as beautiful and the displays were stunning! If you go, an afternoon signature tea is a must! Friendly and knowledgeable staff. A great afternoon!
A. S.
Nice modern visitor centre now with the excellent tea room, a separate dining hall restaurant and a fancy afternoon tea place - all bases covered for eating/drinking. We've eaten in the dining hall twice and always a good selection for adults and kids. The tea conservatory is also lovely. The artisan market is good when that's on, and the museum is very large
L. H.
A lovely day out and a very interesting museum. Really enjoyed my visit.
R.
Went to the tea shop as part of a special afternoon out.
Was amazed that you could get a pot of tea for the same/less than you would in a supermarket cafe!
The food and cakes were naturally more expensive (we had a lovely afternoon tea) and the quality was outstanding with everything looking and tasting delicious.
The staff were extremely kind and friendly and that made the afternoon that much more enjoyable. Would highly recommend such a great place to visit and not at all crowded even though it was the weekend.
J. H.
Lovely place with cafe, the museum is free. The factory tour is best booked online in advance, as it was fully booked when I was there
M. E.
Nice day with parents. Good combination of history, art, science and industry.
P. T.
Loads to see and do. Once you've done the factory tour, treat yourself to afternoon tea or have a go at throwing your own pot
A. S.
The whole experience could have been better, mainly with getting something to eat and drink, it seems unless you have booked the full Wedgwood experience, they are reluctant to offer any beverages.
C. F.
A memorable day. The tour is very informative. Fascinating having the opportunity to watch items being made. Making a pot and designing a plate added to the enjoyment. Ended the day with a delicious afternoon tea. Staff throughout out were friendly, approachable and couldn't do enough to help. All in all a great day.
M. L.
Superb 5 star treated 40th birthday experience.
Lovely staff, made to feel welcome.
Great all round experience!
S. C.
Too good, too costly. Excellent ceramic items.
A. C.
A great place to visit for all ages. We were here via a Virgin Experience voucher for a full day at the attraction. This included a welcome drink, pot throwing, designing our own plate, a full tour of the factory and an afternoon tea. Staff were very friendly and accommodating, and at no point did we feel rushed to do each activity - everything was at our own pace. Our tour guide was especially knowledgeable about the factory processes and it was overall a fascinating day.
b. r.
Great experience. Staff are friendly and helpful. Threw a pot, designed a plate and had a lovely meal too. Museum is very interesting. Good day out, especially when the monthly artisan market is on
G. L.
Great place to learn about Wedgwood. Out door is ideal for youngsters to let off some steam
T. G.
Excellent in every way. Great place to visit, superb afternoon tea. Thoroughly enjoyed and recommend for everyone
K. V.
Spent a morning here but could have spent a whole day. Lovely mix of heritage with modern Great British manufacturing. World-class quality ceramics.
Very interesting hosted tour, and a museum packed with inspiring ceramic art. Superb soup in the restaurant, too.
M. A.
Beautiful place showing long history of ceramics and clays manufacturing.. the tour of factory is must.
C. T.
Great day out for our 9th anniversary. Lovely cream tea and interesting tour. Package includes putting your design on a plate, nearly 12 cm in diameter. Their designs are limited, so you may want to trace/design yours beforehand. It can be coloured in there with chalk, coloured pencils or felts. The factory outlet was more expensive than expected selling other brands such as Waterford crystal. Museum v good.
S. T.
A fantastic day out as part of a present... It started with tea of choice, followed by a tour of the factory, pottery making and plate decorating. Finishing with a really nice lunch in the on-site restaurant.
The day was great fun and something is highly recommend. I plan to go back again and visit the museum, add I didn't have time to do it during my first visit.
J. W.
Had an amazing tea experience - very tasty. 1 is more than enough for two people. The show room is incredibly well designed and creatively displayed. Museum has none of the energy that the showroom has, 30% of the lightning was off (broken?) and little disappointed not to see designs of family member from 60's-80's. Very few modern designs shown in fact.
The staff and the whole experience was excellent however.
A. W.
Excellent visit to Wedgewood today. The factory tour was very interesting and the afternoon tea to die for, yummy!!!! All the staff were polite and very pleasant.
Really enjoyable day, thank you Wedgewood!!
W. B.
Was born near here 51 years ago, finally went with kids and kids had a great time decorating and throwing pots at extremely good value. Only £2 to just play, £5 to take away and £10 to have fired. Kids (with help) got unexpectedly good results so paid the £10. Also painting pre fired pots was very cheap and the kids had loads of fun painting them. The cafe is good too. Enjoyable half day
D.
Beautiful place to visit. The staff in the shop are friendly, welcoming and very helpful
Z. N.
Interesting free museum. You can make your own vase for £10 good for kids and the master potter Lewis was a good teacher. Good range of food in the restaurant. Some bargains in the outlet shop. Staff are all friendly. Trentham Gardens isn't far.
M. H.
If you have any interest in pottery, or indeed history, this is well worth a visit. The museum tour is very good - we went round the museum again, independently, only to find that the tour had picked up on the vast majority of what we were interested in. We didn't do a factory tour but walked around by ourselves and we found that sufficient - the staff were great at answering our questions. The restaurant is very good for the price.
P. H.
Superb displays of old and new. Interesting tour of factory. Visited with school party and was disappointed with food facilities. Could do with a cafe style, cheaper, catering unit, self service and family friendly. we had to wait for table service for overpriced drinks only. Missing an opportunity fir more business from familys
A. P.
An excellent day out for anyone of any age.
P. N.
If you come by boat, there are good moorings by bridge 104. It's not far to walk, across a busy level crossing. The site is huge and it's quite a walk from the gates to the world of Wedgwood. The new buildings have been open about a year now and are built to impress. The museum is good although the lighting was sometimes rather dim. We didn't do the factory tour. It's quite expensive compared to Middleport museum. The staff are nice and helpful and the restaurant looks nice. We had mixed feelings about this place, it is big and impressive and very modern, but very showy and corporate somehow.
h. s.
A safe place to break out from isolation! Well organized for take out food and drinks, and to look round the main shop and the seconds. Sanitizer everywhere. Gardens looking lovely. A nice meet up with family after so long!
p. n.
What a fantastic day out start with the factory tour then have a go at designing a plate enjoy an afternoon tea then have a go at throwing a pot. Great staff really helpful and a trip around the museum just finished the day off.
V. G.
An enjoyable summer holiday visit with my daughter and her friend. They decorated a pot and threw one. Both were enjoyable experiences.
The restaurant is not cheap but the presentation is first class. We went for the light nights option which was not badly priced Childrens meals are excellent value with the added bonus of a play area.
Definitely recommend for a days outing.
A. L.
The Tour of Scotland was fun and while we ambled through the courses we made acquaintances with the table next to us, merged our tables, and had a really grand night. Thank you to the wait and cook staffs and to our new friends for a memorable evening.
R. O.
A must visit! Before visiting World of Wedgwood I don't think I could have told you anything about Josiah Wedgwood, the pottery industry in the UK, or its impact across the globe. It was absolutely fascinating! Plus spending time throwing a pot was great fun and highly recommended! I would quite happily return for another visit 👍
J. S.
Great place to spend a day out in! The tour of the factory is a real eye opener especially when you see the brightness and feel the heat warping the air in the furness and the delicate work of the people on the factory floor decorating their wares. The museum is wonderful and you need more time than you think to take it all in. You can also try your hand a throwing pots and can come back at a later date to paint them. Nice café and opposite in another building is a really good restaurant which is very reasonably priced. Great to be able to come away with a piece of Pottery from the shop too. Suitable for all ages. All the staff and factory workers are friendly, approachable and informative.
H. Y.
Had a great day out. The tour was interesting and informative. The Tea Room was beautiful and I definitely want to go for Afternoon Tea there.
Was very disappointed with the Dining Room, but after emailing Wedgwood I now understand the problems they had that day and would go back. Did think they should have offered a voucher of some sort though.
N. G.
Very smart place clean and warm (It's only 3 degrees to day)
L. C.
Amazing place, especially for people with disabilities. Flat all around and parking. Lovely food in the dining hall, factory self guided tour was interesting and we even got to make a pot. There is also a museum.
a. w.
Really good day out for several reasons. The place itself is immaculate and is presented in a really modern way. The food in the food hall was too a very good standard and was reasonably priced. The tea Room is really beautiful and the staff make having afternoon teas a great experience.
S. B.
Me and my partner attended the potters class today.
We had a great experience which was made even better by our teacher Lewis who was professional, very friendly and helpful through out.
Would recommend this to anybody thinking of doing it.
R.
Had a great experience day here. The staff were very warm and welcoming. We had a laugh throwing a pot and designing a plate. The staff in the food hall were attentive and the food was lovely. Brilliant day.
A. S.
As you might expect the craft side was excellent. This post is more about the exceptional staff who delivered 5☆ customer service. My mother in law would have struggled to walk to the exhibitions from the canal. They went beyond what could have been expected so she could enjoy her visit. Outstanding service delivered with a smile. Well done to all involved.
J. N.
Had an experience day bought for me. What a fantastic day I had. Everyone was so nice. The whole day was terrific, making pots, designing a plate, the guided tour of the factory and a superb 2 course meal. Couldn't fault anything. Thank you.
A. W.
Loved the museum, other stuff like designing/painting ceramics is cool too. Shop is very fancy and factory outlet more affordable (you could spend £20k or £2, you'd definitely end up with something beautiful).
P. G.
Excellent day gift voucher used and it was a lovely experience day. Included coffee and biscuits on arrival and a full day with lunch and pottery making and plate design. Also now get 2 free adult members and 3 children for a year!
J. M.
Very pleasant day out, afternoon tea was excellent, the tour of the factory was very informative and throughout the day all the staff were very friendly and polite ,all in all a grand day out ..
G. E.
Step back into history in a modern world. If you love history you will not be disappointed with a visit to Wedgwood Estate with some wonderful products on display to view and purchase and if you want to get your hands dirty and have a laugh (in a fun way) a go at throwing a pot is a must. Visiting is free you will not be disappointed and look out for the special events weekend.
L. P.
This was an absolutely super day out. We took a group of 13 year olds. They learned so much about the factory process and the history. They threw a pot. All the staff we met were knowledgable and extremely helpful and warm. I loved it and am recommending it to everyone I know. It is a long way from Cheltenham, but I would do the journey again, such a good day!
T. R.
There's lovey events all year round here and the museum is free. Not a lot to keep young children entertained without paying for a tour. But a good way to o spend a few hours.
R. C.
We had such a great day out here. Beautiful place, superb food and cakes and the plate making and pot throwing were a lot of fun. Also it was so nice to visit somewhere where all the staff were knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommended.

Well worth a visit if you are interested in the industrial revolution or fine bone china. The museum is very interesting as is the factory tour. There is an excellent coffee shop and tea room. The outlet store had some bargains. The biggest shocker was that much of the stock in their flagship store in the heart of the potteries is MADE IN INDONESIA. So sad to see how little china is being made in Barlaston now, Josiah must be spinning in his grave...
F. T.
What a special day! I bought the experience as a Christmas gift for my mum, we did it today and it's no exaggeration to say it was one of the best days we have ever had together. The day was perfectly organised from start to finish, the staff couldn't do enough for us, there was so much to see and do and yet the whole experience was so leisurely and just delightful. Thank you Wedgwood, we will remember this day forever!
H. T.
Great place to visit with friendly and welcoming staff. Plenty to look at and do.
m. w. B.
Had a great day at The Wedgwood Food & Drink Festival
T. C.
Wow! What a brilliant place ! Full of history. The afternoon tea was fantastic! So much to eat. The staff were kind and friendly. Thank you for a great afternoon.
M. D.
Beautiful place, especially the walk this time of year.
E. G.
Excellent day out plenty to see. Staff very friendly. Restaurant most enjoyable food. Wonderful to see all the skills used to.make such beautiful pieces clever people who first started creating these items all those years ago.
J. C.
The museum is awesome. Full of history and beautiful objects.
C. W.
lovely meal and the visit with santa was magical. Merry Christmas
M. L.
Went to the World of Wedgewood on a nice Sunday afternoon. Signposting in Barleston is dire. Possibly pranksters messing with them, but went through the village a couple of times before resorting to satnav! On arrival, the place is impressive and so clean. A nice surprise when going inside, as I was informed it was free entry rather than the usual £10. Definitely a good choice to go on Sunday afternoon! 😀 The museum and everything was very interesting and informative. I was amazed at how fantastic and ingenious that Josiah Wedgewood must have been. Two hundred and more years ago, they were producing such high quality pottery wares. Very impressed. Would highly recommend this as a great trip out.
M. W.
The Wedgwood Experience today was a fantastic birthday treat. The staff were delightful and obviously all enjoyed their jobs. The tour, throwing a pot, decorating a plate, lunch and finally the shop were amazing - the whole experience excellent value.
H. W.
Had afternoon tea with my best friend. It was awesome. Truly worth a visit as you feel very special and the ambience and setting is beautiful. And they accommodated me as a coeliac without any advance booking.
A. L.
Tour and museum were brilliant.
In a group of 20 and had ordered soup and sandwich for group. Soup was "watery and thin with no taste" and sandwich was with dry bread, possibly made so early on the morning it was past its best with very little filling. Shame as that spoilt what was otherwise a very good day out.
T. B.
Loved it. The Museum is amazing. Lots of bargains in the factory oulet. Stunning new collections. Staff are fabulous. We had morning tea and lunch there. A lovely afternoon outing.
B. A.
World of Wedgwood is well worth a visit. The Dining Hall should consider a revision of the menu, so that you can buy a sandwich at any time of the day without soup or salad or chips. Staff were very understanding.
C. W.
The waitress Felicity was excellent... so pleasant and helpful ! Scones and tea excellent ... sandwiches were very dry 🥲
R. F.
The history of one of the world's finest potters laid out from clay to kiln to decoration to sale to museum piece, cafe, restaurant, factory shop and more. Well worth a visit, however there is little of interest for youngsters
M. H.
Great place to visit museum is free but would recommend to take the tour only 5 pounds .Tea tasting in the main showroom .and cafe very good food price just right .
No play area for children
M. D.
Very nice, food is good. Well worth a visit. Easy to find and good parking facilities. Wedgewoods is situated on the side of the canal so if you are a cyclist, it is a good day out, with a nice ride afterwards. Give it a try, you'll have a good time.
G. S.
Well worth a visit...there is a lot to see, you must include the factory tour, it is worth it. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good food (I had what i thought was a snack - fish fingers in a bap, but it was a work of art! )
m. b.
Excellent experience, great cafe, well worth the visit, especially the factory tour.
K. F.
Went for afternoon tea, excellent service, sandwiches very tasty, and built very well, ( husband builds sandwich not make !!) Didn't make it to the tour etc , I was in wheelchair, went just before Xmas 2017 , even Xmas decorations were blue and white wedgwood baubles , individually done, different themes areas, with the tea room looking like "Orient express" from the outside, each area very well thought out even for chair access , where you have enough room for chair to get around. Narnia themed for children area fantastic, also Chinese dragon made out of China plates, cups saucers, napkins, forks was awesome. Museum was interesting. Will go back to do tour etc can't wait!!😁😁
J.
We had a lovely day at Wedgewood today. Our friend treated us to the “Exoerience” the children threw a pot and thoroughly enjoyed it. Every staff member we encountered was fabulous and the food and service in the dining hall was wonderful!
Highly recommended!
E. F.
Pricey but nice food. The play room in the restaurant has changed to a painting room for children but it wasn't open when we visited so not much for the children to do. Lovely fish and chips, drinks are ££
T. B.
Nice place to go but children are quite restricted to what they can do. Would make a lot more money from visitors I'd they had a full play area separate that the parents would pay a small fee to put them in while they eat just as a separate visit for the children then it will encourage them to visit the other parts of Wedgewood and maybe bring in more business.
m. c.
Wonderful afternoon at Wedgwood with friends. The museum is very interesting and as an individual born in the Potteries I am proud of its history and heritage. I feel the world of wedgewood is fantastic and Joshia a true artistic genius-an inspirational man of his industry and era! The gift shop and tea rooms are georgeous as was the afternoon tea we shared there and the staff a total pleasure to meet and the service was exceptional. Thankyou so much for a truly lovely experience. Very much Appreciated! Will certainly be visiting again and would Highly recommend a visit to others.
C. D.
Definitely worth a visit. Interesting, informative and fun plus great afternoon tea!
D. G.
It's wonderful for pottery enthusiasts and has some incredible products and a first rate cafe. But you certainly do get the feeling this place is only for the elite and ordinary people are tolerated. The price of Wedgwood is higher than most the other pottery companies but when you see the artistry, you can see why.
T. M.
You can look round the shop and museum or throw a pot. The whole family loved it and kids can do pottery making free of charge. They can print your own design on a plate or mug too
W. P.
Liked this place looked to clinical when I drove in, but was a very interesting place liked the factory side self guided, went with a tour guide in museum. Had high tea in tea room and enjoyed it alot. Little expensive.
R. S.
We spent a wonderful morning here. The tour was quite educational and we learned a lot about both the history and techniques of pottery making. It was well worth the admission price.
J. P.
Great place for the family. Beautiful new visitor centre set in landscaped grounds on the site of the old factory. Lovely shop, excellent restaurant and stunning products. Well worth a visit
M. N.
Fantastic day! Had day experience bought for my 50th birthday. Started with gorgeous coffee and lovely shortbread biscuit. Then we had a lesson on the potters wheel with dave, did a pot which will be sent to me via post. Then did factory tour, very interesting with another dave, factory very clean. Then 2 crse lunch, lovely. Then we designed a plate and brought it home. All staff very helpful. There for 5hrs, great day out. Sunday good day to go as quiet. Factory outlet shop great too. Interesting day, me and my two sisters had great day. Thank you, well worth a visit.
S. H.
Well stocked museum showing the development of the craft but the highlight for me was the factory visit and the chance to see pottery being made and decorated. The food was good too.
G. L.
Great quality experience which is well worth a visit. Not hugely interesting for kids under 10 apart from the pottery lesson. Lovely tea rooms - a definite must.
D. W.
Excellent exhibition, excellent tea room, had a great thanks to the staff.
S. G.
Had afternoon tea, which was the best we've had to date.
N. D.
If your looking for inspiration don't bother. There is about 1/4 range they used to have and nothing that says elegance. We visited 20 years ago and over the years have built up a service From their range as ours has been discontinued we were looking for something else. This time we saw nothing you couldn't get in your own high Street. Truly depressed and sad at their decline.
H. S.
We visited the World of Wedgewood today. As we have a canal boat our time was limited to the morning. I could happily spend all day there. The Museum is not just fantastic it really shows the magical artistry of Wedgewood in the past. Simply fabulous. The Tea shop outside and cakes were lovely. Now for some feedback. The fancy tea service I side is not up to standard. How can you serve tea yes in nice China on those cheap tables with no tablecloths.
Next I buy fine China we have beautiful Vintage Wedgewood etc. However the standard of the China you had for sale in the shops is frankly poor. The designs show a cheap Asian influence and little imagination and bad ergonomic design. E.g. handles etc There were no fabulous pieces or grand settings as you have in the museum. Some of the most elegant work can be simple yet sophisticated. The 1955 settings are good examples. So much to my surprise we bought nothing.
Anyway some thoughts to consider. All the best.
A. I.
Husband works there i used to fantastic place to visit they do tours round the factory u can make an item. The tea rooms, restaurants are so lovely not to mention the shops and show rooms you have to see it to believe it
S. b.
Great place to learn about Staffordshire heritage and a comfortable place to go and just have a coffee. Tea room has a variety of teas to try and you can take people for a special day for afternoon tea.
m. t.
Nice and quiet place to visit
C. L.
Lovely experience throwing pots, great that you can take them home and that you pay after you decide if you're keeping what you've made. All the staff were lovely, and the cafe serves delicious and healthy food.

Visited on 26th January 2018
Greeted on arrival with a courtesy that made my wife & myself feel very important
Self guided factory tour was a great success At no time did we feel like we didn’t know what was happening + the information boards that are laid out were more than helpful
All the staff were so polite & helpful & only to willing to stop their work & answer any questions
The only criticism of the day was we ran out of time to see all the museum
Our trip ended with afternoon tea which was again a wonderful experience
Will be returning later in the year for another visit
To all the staff involved keep up the good work
A truly marvellous day out
S. L.
Brilliant. Pay for the guided tour of the museum and then go back round for a more detailed look. Cafe a little disappointing (little choice and a bit pricey) but tea and cake in the Tearoom was lovely.
R. S.
Nice place nice staff sparkling
S. R.
Fantastic day out and very relaxing. Decor is spectacular
G. R.
Fantastic place. Lovely staff. Dining Hall staff, food and service excellent. Also they have children's cutlery which is a plus. The first place I have come across to cater for little cubs.
K. R.
Very interesting, the guide was extremely knowledgeable best part was the factory tour
Would recommend a visit but plan to spend a long time we were there for about five hours there is so much to see
p. s.
A really good visit. It's free on a Sunday because the factory is shut. We spent at least 3 hours there and then went for Sunday lunch which was reasonable and good.
B. C.
Have a fab food and craft market once a month, some really good stalls. The museum is also worth a quick walk around, very interesting, free entry on the market day.
C. B.
Very interesting pity prices so high
M. T.
I loved this place, beautiful tea room and the loveliest staff. It is great for people of all ages! I really enjoyed the pot throwing class too.
K.
All good, except for the service in the Tea Shop. Staff not attentive.
M. H.
Always good to stop a the factory shop when we are passing. Staff very polite and helpful
S. S.
Food fair was on, good variety of traders. Wedgewood shop/museum/showroom had an incredible display of wares and s nice cafe.
J. D.
Amazing place loved the fountains grandchildren spent ages getting gloriously wet eatery a little pricey but worth it we had indoor play to ourselves ended our time with hide and seek in outdoor activity Lots of facilities for grownups too !!!!👍👍👍👍
G. G.
Been a few times I would recommend museum
Great staff
G. W.
Afternoon tea not up to expectations, we did tour ourselves. Went to shop and was disgusted Doulton Lady figures now being made in Thailand. No wonder we have no pottery industry in Stoke or older figures are now worth nothing.
T. W.
Nice place came for the craft fair which was on but did look in the other buildings there's a place to have tea coffee and something to eat a bit pricey mind and a bit of a wait depending on what time you go, you can also buy pottery dinner sets glasses etc, nice big free car park.
P. B.
The whole place is pristine. Very interesting museum. The factory tour was informative.
The price of the items for sale was very high. Well worth a visit though.
A. B. J.
A very nice place and a location for Peace of local pottery industry
D. “. V. A.
A well thought out venue if you want to buy something special or experience. The pottery painting room has lots to inspire you and is reasonably priced
P. M.
Would recommend it as a family attraction of all ages !! Opportunity to see the famous Wedgwood pottery being made and for the kids to throw a pot of their own !! Places to eat at various price structures !!

V. T.
Really interesting place to visit, very friendly staff happy to answer your questions and explain what they are doing. Very nice afternoon tea in cafe.
C. B.
This is a real factory tour! I am an experienced potter and found this self guided tour fascinating. Very reasonably priced at £10.
B. L.
The museum has a lot of exhibits. The presentation seemed to be dated and haphazard. A little more thought would make it a great experience.
S. J.
Beautiful surroundings, interesting history, great service, outstanding food. The full package for a great experience. World of Wedgwood is a cultural and historic must see.
L. H.
Very interesting museum with free entry now. Afternoon tea looked delicious if expensive. Nice surroundings and lots of parking.

J. R.
Very interesting visit. Really enjoyed the museum and factory tour. A great day out.
R. “. S.
Staff in general are pleasant! One in particular! But one, is an absolute nightmare! I fail to understand, how this person remains in the job, let alone in a supervisory position?
C. W.
Didn’t go into wedgewood. Did outdoor activities in the woods next to it. Great
S. L.
Mesuem is good, but the outlet is smaller than before, thus fewer items are displayed and sold. There are not much bulk items now, the second items are sold at 30 ot 35 percent discounted only.
C. X.
