Reviews of Wellington Orbit
C. M.
Visited the Orbit Cinema for the first time today. The staff were so friendly & welcoming. Had a coffee each to take into watch the film. What a great little cinema. Much nicer than the impersonal Telford Cinemas. Seats very comfortable & sound system great! We are already planning our next visit. A real gem for Wellington with a lovely cafe too.

Such a quaint little cinema 🎥
Comfortable seating and nicely spaced out. You can even take a drink (beer) in with you to watch your movie.
Staff very polite and friendly.
Definitely go again 👍🏻😀

Went for lunch and had a great experience. Staff friendly and helpful. We had the cauliflower cheese which came with side salad and 2 warm rolls. Delicious and filling. Good menu choice. Would recommend was busy.
Great cinema, friendly helpful staff. Good seating.
j. b.
Fantastic little venue, very reasonable for drinks snacks and films cheap too, no hesitation in giving it five stars, staff are lovely and venue is spotlessly clean...definitely keep you in mind for future...

I like the staff. I love the orbit. It’s better than the telford town centres cinemas! I come everyday and enjoy having my crumpets and tea. Spend more time here chatting to the staff than any other cafes! If I feel upset or lonely, I come here. I wish I could give it more than 5 stars. Telford cinemas nil, orbit 20!
I’m sorry that some of my favourite staff (Hayden and Toby) are leaving.

Very welcoming and friendly staff.
Most of whom are volunteers, who devote their time to help in every area.
Would highly recommend to all my friends and family for a day/night cinema showing. Great time out for all the family. 👌👏👏

Went to the orbit to watch the film Belfast. As always our visit was brilliant. The cinema itself is great. The seating and layout everything that you would want. However the staff in the cinema go above and beyond being helpful and friendly. This cinema is an asset to Wellington and we are very lucky to have it here.

Now open for business, the cafe has an interesting menu with most dietary requirements catered for. The whole set up is brand new, so expect excellent toilets and good standards of hygiene. A nice place to sit and watch the world go by. The cinema is in place so watch out for film showings soon.
R. S.
Fantastic little local cinema and cafe. Very clean and modern inside and the staff member was enthusiastic, helpful and very welcoming.
Dont be put off by the small size, it comes equipped with Dolby 7.1 and 4k video.
Support local businesses such has this! I was very impressed and I highly recommend you visit too!
G. D.
Such a beautiful place , loved it. Most of the movies are available in their auspicious cinema.
S. E.
Lovely intimate family feel to this cinema. Fab cafe too. Staff were friendly and efficient....
There was a slight hitch with amp so film needed to be restarted but all made for extra entertainment as others were improvising lol

Probably a conflict of interests as I used to work there, but since leaving I have become a regular visitor so feels ok to comment. The staffing team continue to be impeccably helpful and friendly. Great to be able to take a reasonably priced real coffee, snack or alcoholic drink into a screening. The programming is often seen as curated events rather than just rudimentary 'screenings' (with q&a's, themed nights or films selected to supplement other provincial events or interests). They also offer a platform to support local creative and artists. You tend not to get any of these things at the big chains. One thing that doesn't get any credit in the reviews here is the cinema's immaculately specced 7.1 sound system, which really bats above its weight for an independent cinema of its size. This really comes into its own in such an intimate space, providing a truly immersive experience. The whole enterprise has a lovely community-led feel. Its an asset to Wellington and I'd very much urge locals to support this jewel in the crown. Its very much our first choice place in the surrounding area to watch a film.

Fantastic place. It is now my No.1 Cinema. A lovely little cafe to sit in with a drink and snacks before going into the cosy cinema to watch your chosen film. Who could ask for more!

Lovely cinema and friendly staff. Food and drink available. Nice to see Pearl and Dean on the advertising. Had to explain who they were to my teenage son. Nice atmosphere.

Well worth a visit, so comfortable and affordable.
D. L.
Very comfortable cinema. Would have been better without the school kids kicking your seat and getting up and down during film.
G. F.
Great little cinema. The cafe and snacks are also a reasonable price. Service is very friendly too 👌😁
L.
Nice theatre, cozy atmosphere, sound system is great. Staff are smart and courteous (all volunteers). And if u don't mind waiting a few weeks to see the latest block busters, £8 for adults is a brilliant bargin. Will definitely attend regularly.
S. G.
Lovely little cinema, great prices for drinks etc. I did get cold from a fan overhead but it's difficult to please everyone.
We will be back.

Visited the Wellington Orbit for the first time on Thursday 15 August 2019 to see the film 'Yesterday'. Both the film and the newly opened Wellington Orbit had been highly recommend by our friends and having visited we can certainly agree!
The Wellington Orbit cinema is in the old HSBC bank building but entered by a modern cafe unit on the far right hand side of the older corner building. The cafe has a ramped slope inside the door to enter and the rest of the cafe has a solid flat floor. At the left rear of the cafe is the drinks and food ordering area with the cinema tickets on sale just behind on the right hand side.
The cinema is accessed through a corridor on the left hand side of the cafe. It has a flat floor at the front with space next to seats to accommodate wheelchair users.
We took the opportunity of sitting in one the rows higher up in the cinema. This row has a row of double seats that have a fold away arm that lets pairs enjoy the comfortable cinema experience together. The leg room in front of the chairs is wonderful , as someone who is nearly 6ft 4in tall it is spacious with plenty of room both length and width ways in the 63 seats. All chairs have wide arm rests and are very accommodating for all.
The toilets are at the rear of the cafe and are modern and stylish .
We took our 6ft 7 inch son into the cafe on Saturday and enjoyed some refreshments in the cafe. He found the cafe comfortable and had no problem with legs in there .
My son and I shared a pot of tea for two , for £3, it was so nice to have a tea pot and second pot with hot water to ' top up' the tea. My wife had a nice drink of Causton Press Apple and Rhubarb . Alcoholic drinks are also available but be aware that these can only be ordered if you are having food in the cafe but they can be taken into the cafe.
I do hope that people can support this wonderful place and look forward to visiting again !

Took my son to watch The Wizard of Oz, first time at the Orbit, what a fantastic place, friendly, helpful staff, clean theater, really big seats, really reasonable prices in the cafe, couldn’t praise it highly enough. We will definitely be returning.

Stop giving money to "the man" and try this for a change. Went last night to watch Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. Was a great experience, would recommend watching a movie here. Projector and Surround sound was great, seats comfy and the staff really friendly. Popcorn was £1 so I didn't have to remortgage my house to have a snack with the movie.

Sophie and the team at Wellington Orbit proved the perfect hosts for our family celebration. Our chosen film was sourced for us, a convenient time arranged for the film followed by a flawless buffet. Guests from age 1 to 91 all had a fabulous time.
R. G.
Wonderful facility for locals. Enjoyed the 60 seat cinema, nice size, intimate atmosphere.
J. S.
It's a nice quiet place to relax, besides the constant sound of coffee brewing with the milk steamer and removal of boiled coffee granules from the granule holder.
A. D.
Beautiful cinema with wide, comfortable seats and plenty of leg room.
Cafe’ Ensuite with deliciously tempting cakes and good coffee.
Smiley service from Orbit volunteers. Great experience., all ground floor.
