Fantastic addition to the Portree area. Amazing selection of Pizza and Ciabatta along with fast and friendly service. The large selection of Skye Candles and other local products made it so difficult to choose. Well worth a visit.

Convenient rest place while travelling to the ferry at Uig. The old Aros Centre has had a total makeover and has moved upmarket with limestone flooring, trendy furnishings and large picture windows to frame the view. The menu is quite limited but includes pizza from the in house pizza oven. Prices are at the higher end for cafe style locally, however parking outside is free, whilst all carparks in Portree are now pay and display.

The Isle of Skye Candle Company is an excellent addition to the town centre. I loved the store and it's superb gift shop. I was really interested in their high quality products, and was impressed with their delicious scents as well as the wonderful service. It's a great place to go for gifts or even a casual browse!

Excellent shop with various Skye Candle Company stock providing good gift ideas. The pizzeria 'Gasta' at the end of the building is absolutely brilliant - nice selection of pizzas that are also available as gluten free, and good quality. Great atmosphere and interior, highly worth a stop.

Expensive!! It was busy when we got there, just before 4, and they stopped serving hot food at 4. All we wanted was a cuppa and it took an inordinately long time for our order to be taken and for the drinks to arrive!! Candles and crafts are very pricey too. Not somewhere I'd choose to visit again.

We had to drive over to Portree for our vaccinations, so thought we would drop in for the first time since improvements started. The building has definitely benefited from a makeover. We decided to stay for pizza which was delicious, although the menu is very limited. The biggest disappointment was the poor service. We were asked to order our food via our phone, despite three waitresses standing behind the bar chatting. After faffing around with the app for 10 minutes my husband had to go to the bar to order as it just wouldn't work. Drinks arrived quickly, pizza not so much. Not once did a member of staff ask if our food was ok, if we wanted any further drinks or pudding/coffee etc. In fact, when we left, the staff were still behind the bar chatting with their backs to everyone, so they didn't even acknowledge that we had left! A lot of public funds have gone into this establishment, so I hope they will now plough some of it in to staff training, as the service was deeply disappointing and not somewhere we will rush back to.

I think some of the bad reviews are out of date, the building is under renovation still but the cafe is lovely and we had a great time watching a movie in the cinema, bigger screen than I expected for such an out the way place and very Comfy chairs. Free parking (even for camper vans) definitely a good option for a rainy morning in Skye :)

Just about perfect for watching a movie. Great screen and sound, loads of room and really friendly staff to help on arrival. The seats were large enough but not quite as comfortable as some of the larger cinemas now have, but I will no let that put me off at all. Cafe and shop are also well stocked.

Popped in for an early Deli Gasta lunch. Excellent flat white coffee with a "Croque Bodach" - huge ham sandwich with coleslaw, salad and crisps. Toasted version also available but seems a shame to spoil such lovely bread! Unfortunately I was too full to squeeze in a scone or piece of cake so may have to pop in later this week to check those out.... Staff friendly and cheerful. Only thing missing is the "Cearc Gu Leòr" I used to get in the Broadford branch..

Lovely little cafe/shop with great views. Sadly the food and staff let the place down. Very sticky tables and genrally dirty regardless of being very quite. Breakfast was below average, cheap bacon and no haggis as standard on a Scottish breakfast. After asking for the table to be wiped the stsff became abrupt and offended. Also very weak coffee. If your desperate for the loo and like nice views maybe worth a stop if not head round the corner to Portree.

While returning from Isle of Skye in Scotland, we accidentally discovered this place. Some places leave a mark on you forever and this was one of them. They have a small but amazing cafe here and it does cater to vegetarians. The food was amazing and affordable. There is a shop from where you can buy beautiful kilt, souvenirs and lot of attractive gifts. The place has good chocolates as well. They have some great famous scotland style checks clothes to choose from. Its a fantastic stop for a short break of you are exploring Scotland by driving in the rented car. Refresh and replenish yourself by taking a short break here. Highly recommended and loved..

We love this venue for shows etc and really want to support this place but really don’t bother eating here. Just tried the “special” quiche and salad... very tiny bit of actually inedible quiche... dry, ghastly texture and the most dreadful after taste. When we mentioned it we were fully charged anyway and told they would “ look into it” so sad that some of the food in this great community resource is so poor .

A brilliant community facility that also offers visitors a day off from the outdoor attractions of Skye especially when the weather does what we know it can in Skye!

Brilliant centre. Fantastic gift shop that had some real quality items, no tat. Great book section with a great local history section. Everything you could want if you're on holiday for gifts. I've been to the theatre a few times. Beautiful intimate venue. Never visited the St Kilda exhibition so can't comment on that. I have to mention the customer service is second to none. The Mogwai concert recently got cancelled because of the virus, and when the person on the telephone found I live a good 60 miles from the venue, he refunded me over the phone because I should've gone to the venue for my refund. Highly recommended.

Good wee cinema. The shop is a bit redundant and filled with a lot of things like mood rings. Food could be better, but at the end of the day I go for the cinema/theatre so I'm not gonna knock the rating too much. Its a shame the guy who has to set the film going at the cinema also has to run the bar, as it caused the film to start 15-20 mins late, but this is what you call Skye Time!

Wr wanted to see a movie. Don't expect the same experience you have in the US theaters. There is no fresh popped pop corn. The seats are quite closer together. The gift shop is really good. The bathrooms are perfectly clean and tidy.

Aros, meaning "Home", is a place every visitor to the island should go to. Friendly staff, brilliant disabled access (the doors are extra wide which is brilliant and rare!), a large gift and book shop and food and drink available make this an essential stop. In addition to the above, there are numerous events throughout the year from live music to films shown in the theatre. This includes "Skyestory", a 2019 production being shown throughout the summer (and probably beyond!) telling the history of this beautiful Isle with loads of interesting facts and some amazing music included. I seriously recommend you go and see it - we've been coming here for years and found out loads of new information from the film.

The Aros experience is a particularly good visitor centre with a large shop and Cafe plus a theatre and cinema, There are also areas for artists to exhibit their work. With the added bonus of very helpful and knowledgeable staff who can give you advice of what to see and do in the area. I think this is one of the best visitor centres in Scotland. The new Jurassic world children's play area is brilliant, not for nervous parents.

Nice place to enjoy a movie. It is not a cinema so doesn't have stadium seating and the bottom section is really cold this time of year. There are no trailers so make sure you arrive on time.
