Reviews of Moseley Bog
E. C.
A lovely place for a walk. There are wooden walk ways over the wetter places. It is ajoined by Joy's Wood. This area is where Tolkien spent time as a child and is reported to be the inspiration for Big Wood featured in his writings.

A picturesque walk through the legendary Moseley Bog upon which Tolkien is believed to have based his famous realm, Middle-Earth.
Its a beautiful little gem of Birmingham which you and any children in your family will enjoy exploring. It contains walking paths, trees, swamps, bogs and trickles of water and streams here and there.
As I often say...
"NOT ALL THOSE WHO WANDER ARE LOST."

A must see for all Tolkien fans, you definitely feel in middle earth. Very quiet and calming

Small but absolutely beautiful. I like to go on solo forest walks so sometimes can feel intimidated, but felt completely safe here. Doesn't get very busy other than dog walkers. Car park is very small, enough for only about 3 cars, but has other free parking nearby.
It's a nice little treasure in the middle of Birmingham, and surprisingly peaceful.
My son loved spotting the wood carvings throughout.

Lovely little park for a walk around, especially with dogs. There are some playing fields at the top as well.

Spent a lovely hour or so walking around. Easy to see how Tolkien was inspired by this place!! It's beautiful. Most of the bog has wide walkways with gentle/small slopes so it's accessible.

great place to walk your dog, lovely to catch sight of some of the birds and be surrounded by their songs throughout the day. work has been done to improve accessibility so more may enjoy the space

A little flora gem escape. The sounds of birds and the atmosphere whilst walking through lushness and greenery during the rain is phenomenal. If you need to heal from all the electronic radiation, this is the place..

Love it here! Always find a different route... A magical place.. JRR Tolkien fans should come see where he got his inspiration as a child... Peaceful and tranquil...friendly walkers and dog owners.. A little gem in the heart of Birmingham City..
