Reviews of Queen Square
J. D.
Queens Square. Near docks and Kings Street. Nice to sit in garden and read the paper or new book. Hosts music events and outdoor films.
A. W.
Lovely place for a weekend break away, we went for the first weekend break after lockdown and was a great spot. Lots to see and thousands of people about along the docks having a few drinks and food. The suspension bridge now far away from it and defo worth a trip to see the city.
J. P.
Not much other than a green space with minimal traffic. Very nice place to eat lunch or a picnic. Very popular with locals for volleyball and football.
J. S.
Ye it's ite, traffic of peeps every which way, good ol pathways for em. Nice flat open park. Sweet sunny spots. + Benches all round for a nice evening ciggy by a lampost/ just sit down ha.. They do daytime volley ball contest there too in the summer.
C. J.
The real heart of the old city, this merchant quarter of Bristol, with its delightful green space, is the perfect spot for a picnic or a water break on your tour around the harbourside.
A. G. b. A. M.
What a brilliant park in the heart of Bristol! We had gorgeous weather on our visit and enjoy a good wander/walk-about, so we set out and serendipitously stumbled into Queen Square. Look at all this green space! Take a picnic, have a nap, play games, relax in the sunshine. A perfect respite from all the busy-ness of King Street or Stokes Croft.
K. B. (.
Beautiful park area in the city with old buildings surrounding, really nice place to sit and watch the world go by or just have your lunchbreak. Events held here sometimes during summertime
C. b. F.
Hearts are marked on the grass for perfect socially distant picnics. Brilliant. Clean and tidy too.
D. W.
A very nice park to walk by, especially if you intend to visit M Shed, Arnolfini and WeAreCurious or Bristol Aquarium near the millennium square. This is because the park is just 5-minute walk from those places.
C. n. J.
Lots of parking, when we went anyway, but of course like most city centres it's not cheap. Cobblestones mean cars aren't tearing around so nice and peaceful
K. L.
Nice quiet park in the centre of Bristol, between some great eating and drinking venues and the oldest part of the city. Close to museums (recommend M-Shed & @Bristol), galleries and other venues (recommend Bristol Old Vic theatre).
G.
Perfect area to sit and relax. Good parking, plenty of pubs/cafe's around to grab a drink or something to eat. There are lots of benches and a perfect combination of wide paths and grass. Various events happen here throughout the year here, it is a perfect "stage" as it is close to the centre and a quick walk into Broadmead for shopping.
D. T.
Centrally located green space. A space to sit and day dream, meet friends, organise a game of volleyball, frisbee or pétanque.
Or, just pass through on your way to somewhere else.
S. M.
Beautiful Georgian Houses. Amazing that traffic used to be allowed to drive around here so much 30 years ago. I'm glad it's much more pedestrianised these days! A great place for events and chilling out on the grass. A must see for visitors to Bristol.
T. C.
A relatively peaceful, shady square in the old city area. Good for picnics or sitting on a bench watching the world go by. It's essentially a big grassy area with a statue in the middle, mature trees around the outside, bordered by cobbled streets and old school offices for solicitors, doctors and other small professional practices.
K. e.
Great to see the Bristol lights in Queens Square
C. C.
Bristol was great .stayed at YHO by the river . Lots of history and plenty of bars .Good walking plenty of bridges 🌉
B. M.
My favourite park in bristol to sit down in the sun with friends, play some music and have a bbq and a really good time
L. L.
It is full of History, every building is different, its shows the designers knew how to build ings that would last the time
b. b.
Nice little square, plenty of benches, a cool statue and lots of green grass.
Perfect spot for a picnic.
But no amenities or toilets.
Watch your young kids/ Toddlers as well as they can run under the border fencing onto the road (but adults won't fit)
M. C.
Timeless wood panelled pub, perfect for a gloomy winter's day with its roaring fire and some of the best beer in Bath.
D. F.
Met people at night here where we drunk and danced all night. Climbed the statue and it was a fair challenge while not being to dangerous. 10/10 reccomend coming here at night.
K. B.
A spacious place where vehicles may be parked to facilitate visitation to many pubs and bars around the vicinity.
N. A.
A lovely friendly space that is well kept despite the goliath seagulls who pestered us for a solid 10 minutes.
m. t.
Nice and relaxing area, good for wheelchair access.only down side is no local public toilets.
J. A.
Its an open park, in the shape of a square.... not very exciting, except that it sometimes hosts live music, live comedy and pop-up bars (what's not to like!)
L. C.
Nice place to sit and relax away from the hustle and bustle
S. P.
As squares go, this one is rather lovely. It's large, covered in grass, a monument in the middle and surrounded by interesting architecture. To be fair, I've only been here to see something - the last time a Gromit, but I always like the square.
S. W.
Is not as such a big park but comfortable for short break and to do personal and group exercise. Yesterday most if the pavements leads to the centre of the park were flooded and inaccessible to pedisterians. Needs attention !!!!
E. C.
A fair sized lawn in the city centre, lined with impressive trees. A real sun trap in summer
H. P.
Statue easily climbable with a bit of elbow grease
K. H.
Went there to park my car prior to a visit to the Bristol Hippodrome. Very convenient and reasonably cheap to park.
E. S.
Beautiful views of the Bristol Balloon Festival.
A. S.
I only walk through to get to hippodrome need tidying up very mud because of bikes
D. E.
A peaceful yet often vibrant corner of the city.
B. C.
Nice little park for a quiet escape from the city.
D. J.
Lovely open green space week used by locals and visitors for recreation and relaxing, or as an alternative route into town. A quiet little haven in the middle of a bustling city; fabulous on a warm sunny day.
K. B.
During the day nice green space right in the center.
f. R.
Very nice green square near the docks. There's almost always some people playing some sort of sport or jogging around. You can admire their dedication to a healthy, fun lifestyle or simply shake your head in dismay, open a beer and relax in the sun.
C. E.
Lovely, relaxing. Like stepping into Bristol's past.
N. B.
Nice place to sit in the sun and relax.
C. O. C.
An Lovely place for spending time with your Kids for taking great photos around the place due to mix of alive colours that surround the place😇
F. B.
Nothing much here just few benches with walkway diagonally intercepting in the middle where a stone bar lies.
C. B.
Pleasant and popular place to relax with plenty of shade. Good place for people watching. Can get busy on a hot day with music and drinking.
A. M.
Very nice place to sit and enjoy Bristol city centre
B. P.
Some of the most fascinating history of Bristol can be found in this square, From the Bristol riots when troops where used quelling the riot to the site of the First ever American Embassy in England after the War of Independence .Architecture is varied over the centuries and is now a hub for relaxation, clean and tidy and a
Great place to relax.
B. S.
Nice enough but the cost of parking is nuts
N. M.
Historic part of Bristol. Great in the summer. Huge park. Very central.
H. M.
It looks interesting on the map but has nothing but a statue
A. T.
Nice if you like to sit under the sun. There are seats under the trees if you'd prefer to be where the shade is . There's enough space for everyone one.
R. T.
Pretty good , some jaffas on the floor for some reason though
J. M.
Always a good vibe here in the early evenings. Lots of people enjoying outdoor social activities, from picnics to badminton, and even some musical accompaniment.
C. N.
Beautiful park to chill and hang out at
T.
I worked near this square for just over a year and learned it’s the squarest square in all of Europe!
V. H.
A pleasant historic square with shady trees, surrounded by beautiful Georgian houses and cobbled streets. Plenty of benches and ample green space to enjoy a picnic and for children to play away from traffic and the bustle of the city centre. Had a nice peaceful stroll here. The riverside cafes, pubs and restaurants are only a couple of minutes walk away.
W. L.
Beautiful place to sit and enjoy the sun in the heart of the city. The surrounding architecture provides a superb backdrop for the square.
I. J.
Pretty little park in the middle of the old city with a monument of William III in the middle.
J. H.
Good spot for a picnic - as long as the naughty gulls don't steal anything!
A. Y.
Peaceful place to watch the world go by
A. B.
Lovely open space to enjoy your lunch
m. H.
It has the best run club in town, QSRC
R. S.
Named after the flamboyant band following a poll taken amongst the townspeople. A little known fact is that it is not indeed a square but actually a Rhomboid.
Bi weekly performances by Queen covers bands ultimately culminate in may day's ”battle of the queens" a tradition since medieval times.
Don't forget to visit the Clevedon Mercury offices and Roger Taylor's pork butchers to make your Queen themed visit to Clevedon Complete.
Z. Z. (.
I love how the car park is structured and shaped just like it s name says.
The price is not high .
It also has a nice park .
A.
Lovely park square with a reasonably sizes green space, nice monument in the centre and plenty of benches and area to sit down. Is generally a quiet park and can be a nice place to sit down for a short while or even take a short walk around if you're in the area.
M. S.
I mean, it's a square. It literally is a square piece of land with some grass and paths in the middle. It's cool, I guess. And located pretty much in the city centre, with some trees to give you shade and some open space to play volleyball or something. It's pretty cool, really and there's a monument of a man on a horse in the middle that pretty much always has a seagull sitting on it's head. Go see.
N. M.
Nice public space surrounded by lovely old buildings. It gets very busy when the sun is out with bbqs, volleyball, games being played and probably the pint of cider! Great place in the city to kick back and take in some sunshine
P.
Handsome green space surrounded by beautiful buildings, limited roads and well furnished with benches and bins. A great place for a sit out lunch, people watching or outdoor yoga! As others say - it does get very busy in the summer days but ce la vie.
D. T.
Lovely place to have a leisurely stroll
E. H.
Great place to sit and have a picnic or play during the day time - very family friendly, and lots of pubs, coffee shops, restaurants etc nearby for refreshments and toilet stops. It's sometimes used for live events (it's one of the Harbour Festival locations, and hosts the Bristol Comedy Garden, among others). Completely different feel at night, though - I tend to avoid it.
T. P.
Lovely place to visit, grass to sit with friends lots of seats as well and great buildings
G. B.
Popular open space in the centre of Bristol, surrounded by period buildings.
H. S.
Great place to site and relax shadow of trees and sound of splashing water calming 😊 I loved it.
A. U.
You may think it's just a Square, a park, a place for memorial. But something magical happens to all of us there that this place is more than "just"..
Great for picnics on a sunny day or playing frisbee. Gets crowded, but I think there's enough space for everyone.
P. B.
Iconic Victorian park in the very centee of Bristol. People have loads of fun here, the atmosphere is unique
n. g.
Nice place to chill in the sun
G. E.
Lovely place to be..an oasis in the city..lots of history and magnificent trees..really worth a visit..
K. H.
Beautiful place and clean
J. M.
Very nice for sitting with a group of friends or family for a picnic. Just to watch the world go by, even maybe having a kick about with a football would be nice on a warm summer's day. I Recommend visiting it
T. L.
Great place to see the BS1 community and relax in the sunshine, walk your dog, listen to music, and play Frisbee.
H. S.
Great coffee and a selection of cakes including GF. Visited shortly after they reopened post- lockdown and was impressed at cleanliness and care taken to protect staff and customers. Take aways available for those in a rush or not willing to risk sitting in.
J. N.
Beautiful in the sunshine. Peaceful spot in the centre of town
F. L.
This is a lovely green area right in the middle on the city. Lots of benches to sit on, often quite busy, so amazing for people watching! Lots of people on break from work, meaning spaces open up all the time, even when it's incredibly busy
J. E.
Favourite place in all of Bristol! Queen square has a relentlessly positive attitude and never fails to bring a smile to my face! Beautiful trees and lots of nice places to sit make this park very accessible and lovely :)
C. L. P.
Charming stroll.
M. B.
they should make queen square a pedestrian access only and stop cyclist's from riding through it when they is events happening like the Bristol International balloon fiesta and it should stop accidents occurring when there is loads of people around especially with young children
D. A.
Beautiful open space, right in the centre of Bristol. Not far from the centre where there are bars, restaurants and cafés and close to the river where you can go on a lovely walk past the Matthew and SS great Britain.
The park itself is easy to access and is great for picnics or to sit and read a book. It is well used by the community for games/sports and dogs are allowed.
There is also a small amount of paid parking around the outside of the park should you need to drive.
J. G.
Beautiful place to grab a beer, maybe some Gurt Wings, and sit out in the sun and let the world go by!
S. S.
Lovely centrally located green space, perfect to relax and absorb the surroundings. Beautiful trees in this park, and despite it being busy sometimes, you can always find a quiet spot.
Safe place to enjoy lunch.
S. W.
Relaxing open area with plenty of benches and shade. Might have to ask a pub nicely to use the toilet.
J. W.
Nice place to feed chicken to a new dog who you're attempting to build trust with.
A. L.
Great place to work and socialise. Still lovely place to work and play. A bit too windy this week though.
E. I.
Great space and atmosphere
M. “. C.
It's just a very nice area very close to the centre of Bristol where you can sit and just catch a breath in a busy city. It's also very close to king street and the harbour front where there are some very good pubs and restaurants.
S. R.
Beautiful well maintained square. Great space for picnics, walks and fitness. Used for events. Benches and ample bins available. Square lined with businesses, pubs and cafes. No public conveniences.
I. F.
Such a lovely place to sit in Bristol. It's close to town so it's good for those who work locally and whom might be looking for somewhere green and quite to sit for lunch. It osn't a huge space, but in the hight of summer its a fun and beautiful one!
W. N.
Not enough balloons 😔🥲what a shame ballonfest kept it a secret!!! Why? It’s outdoors arghhhhhh. Wasted too much money.
I. H.
Nice little square, good shade spots, well kept, perfect for spotting Yogscast employees
D. W.
A very nice city park with plenty of grass to relax in what invariably becomes an immensely popular sun-trap for travellers and workers alike.
Benches surround, and shaded areas are provided under which the the historic backdrop can be admired.
Always a popular and unavoidable spot within Bristols cityscape.
D.
Lovely little park to sit down and relax on hot days. I sat here with my girlfriend for a few hours for lunch.
There's usually a lot of uni students there, as well as a few families.
K. N.
Very sunny day, with some relaxing places to sit and laze on the grass.
B. T.
Well looked after green area.
Plenty of bins around so people do not leave rubbish lying around.
Great place to sit for a few minutes or a few hours! Also it is very quiet considering its in the middle of Bristol!
L. S.
Historical Queen Square of Bristol. Great little square to relax in during the summer time, the grassy areas are usually clean and litter free and a few benches to sit on and watch the world go by or have lunch. Occasionally there are music events here and the Harbour Festival usually has a stage here in July.
K. R.
A lovely patch of grass and trees, where you can sit down and enjoy the sunshine, amidst the hustle and bustle of the city.
Z. S.
Best park on the planet genuinely think it's from outer space
S. C.
Lovely peaceful green place in the heart of the city with benches to sit on.
M. B.
Cool place. Nice place to come eat a subway (there are 2 subways very close to here) as just chill. If the sun is out. Plenty of seating area as they have benches all round the outer square and in the center
Q. V.
Nice and peaceful small square perfect to chill on in a quiet morning while people watching! Walked past it from the train station on my first time here and further observed how friendlier the people get once you get out of London. Got a chipper good morning from random bypassers.
A.
Pool noodle explosion!
All joking aside it is a place where many people hang out to chat and sometimes there are multiple stalls around the place!
G. N.
Very lovely little park within walking distance of both the river and many pubs. The benches in the middle of the park make a nice place to stop and have a bit of lunch.
T. S.
What better way to start the day than being in beautiful Queen Square in Bristol with just some of the balloons from the festival!?
S. Y.
What a pretty park in the heart of Bristol city centre. This is where I eat my lunch when it is sunny and when I am at work. I visit this place with family and we had gorgeous weather on our visit and enjoy a good walk while the little one goes bonkers in the grass. Completely surrounded by the green space! Take a picnic, read a book, have a nap, play games, relax in the sunshine. A perfect getaway from all the busy madness of King Street or Stokes Croft.
D. H. C.
Beautiful green space for people to enjoy the fresh air and sunshine. Clean and well kept with some interesting history. There is a poster on the perimeter telling the story of the Bristol Riots in Queen Square in October 1831. Very interesting. ☺
S. N.
We lived this little park! We crossed through most everyday several times. This neighborhood has so much to offer. We we're on our way to and from pubs, restaurants, shopping and more. The statue in the middle is a connection to the area history and England's contrast to our American culture.
C. D.
Live this place just a beautiful bit of green grass lots going on shared with loved one friends family.x
E. E.
Nice area, some market tents were being built while we were there and we couldn't find any information on what event was happening or when, went back the next day and they were still setting up so maybe a notice board could be a nice addition. No sign of the Bristol pusher just yet!
F. K.
Beautiful square park. Nice place for picnics or playing ball games. Plenty of space. It's near lots of places to get food and drink.
D. W.
In my top 5 squares in central Bristol.
A. B.
It's hard to believe that a road once went through here. It's lovely, clean, full of trees, grass and quiet. Plenty of parking is available around the square and the pedestrian links to many areas of Bristol are wonderful. Bins and benches are plentiful and while the paths could do with new gravel/cinder, they are plenty good enough. I recommend coming here on sunny days if you want to escape the thralls of central Bristol
D. K.
Gets busy from around 3pm on sunny days and good location to harbour restaurants.
G. R.
Lovely quiet green space in the heart of Bristol. Many years ago, it has a busy road going through it, from corner to corner!
T. P.
Only in Bristol can you have a picturesque square with a weekly silent disco and volley ball nets on sunny days. Popular with the lunchtime crowd and host to some fantastic events across the year. More than just a patch of grass with some paths running through it.
l. w.
I didn't see the queen so it's fake
S. R.
Very nice and relaxing park. It is like it is made just for picnics and recreational activities.
P. A.
Only here for a few minutes but a relaxing place to sit while enjoying a coffee
g. k.
Really historical place of Bristol must visit! Also nice park to stay and have some great time
P. S.
Nice to sit and enjoy. Plenty of grass area. Pretty trees and Georgian architecture. Lots of pedestrians, but little traffic, so quite quiet.
P.
Definitely a square
...four stars because I ripped my new jeans trying to clime the statue
L.
Beautiful place to walk and there are plenty of activities happening in the park
Gets busy on evenings
L. G.
People like to come here to picnic. Could be crowded and noisy in the evening.
S. M.
A lovely quiet park when there aren't functions going on. Prone to flooding due to ground saturation in the wet seasons. A main non-motor commuter route from Temple Meads to the Centre so can get busy.
i. e.
Visited for the Harbour Festival. Excellent as always.
P. K.
Nice place for break , rest and have some food outside.
J. W.
Busy and looking good although it had some puddles to negotiate and electric scooters/bike riders to dodge
D. W.
It's a fairly standard but quite pleasant city park in the centre of the city.
Big statue of King William III in the middle on his horse (does anyone know why?).
Benches around it plus grass to sit on.
O. T.
one of my fave spots in Bristol to work, lovely to see everyone playing boules and dining alfresco in summer
S. C.
It's lovely but seems to be troubled by dog poo. Good place to eat lunch or relax with colleagues on a break. In the old days buses used to run through the square.
R. C.
Nice location close to the hustle and bustle of the quayside area where you can often go to get a bit of peace and quiet. The noticeboards around the square tell you lots about the history of the area, from it's reclamation from marshland to the Bristol riots and how they changed British law. In the summer there are festivals held here in the square which usually have some great bands.
J. J.
A lot of benches and space
S. K.
Great for running slowly in circles!
A. S.
Its a square with grass and a statue! Good for hot sunny days.
d. g.
Great green open space in central Bristol great place to spend a late summer evening with friends and family.
D. B.
Site of Bristol Riot 1831. Excellent history walk from M Shed team
S. B.
Very central, Queen's Square is a busy route for walkers and cyclists but also has some quiet bits to sit on the grass. Great trees! I think they're lime trees. And there's some nice pubs in the surrounding streets.
B. E.
Lovely views to pass out too. Met some top blokes who checked if I was bashed around the head and mugged when I eventually came too. Location is ideal with plenty of shrubbery to build shelters with.
Would sleep in again.
T. F.
It's a fantastic and beautiful park in the heart of Bristol, relax take in the sun maybe a few selfies along the way. Close to the office's of a few famous people and a bit of fun on the boards.
V. O.
This small , road bound park though quite simple in its layout is a little gem, esp in the warmer periods of the year. On a typical warm day the park hosts loads of people in small groups enjoying the Sun, playing games, dancing with the Silent Disco and meeting friends. Whether it's a dinnertime break from the office or after work. A Saturday escape from the city centre or a random Sunday morn Old Car show, Dance music events, Comedy tents, part of the Riverside festival. Easily accessible n close to Harbour side and places like Thekla. Similar to Castle Park except CP hasn't the events anymore which is a shame.
A. D.
Pretty little bit of grass in central Bristol. We walked through here on a walk through the city. Was sad to see it home to homeless people though - that problem should be addressed by the council.
B. N.
Nice place for a bit of lunch or a cheeky beer
J. W.
Lovely little spot to sit and relax. Like all greenery in Bristol, however, gets very busy during the sunny periods.
A. H.
Nice and good place to relax and explore
J. S.
Access is relatively easy, but parking can be very expensive. Quite noisy as it is in the centre. There are some good pubs nearby, but they are expensive. Cobbled surface can be rough on the car.
S. P.
A lovely well maintained urban greenspace, great for a spot of lunch on a warm day. Queen Square often plays host to concerts, festivals and many other public events. The area is fairly quiet and near the beautiful and historic harbourside. An excellent location to take some rest while exploring the city.
M. H.
A square fit for a Queen (or many). Volleyball courts, lounging about, relaxed and chilled.
R. M.
A great use of space to provide a green space for public use in the centre of the city. Queens square is regularly used for events and is great for spending time with friends or family.
M. P.
A lovely small parkland area just a few hundred yards from Bristol city centre. The square is surrounded by ancient beech tree's, which are now clad in this year's newly emerged leafs. Around
the perimeter of the park on all four sides is a wonderful collection of what used to be in the 17th and 18th centuries homes of wealthy trader's and businessmen, who no doubt had financial interests in the importing and exporting from the nearby city docks. The houses are four stories in height, the kitchen and servants would have been in the basement and the family would live on the floors above.
By and large now, these properties are owned by local and national companies and are used as offices, needless to say parking here is very restricted, and if you are visiting the area I would suggest you park elsewhere.
In the centre of the square is a statue of William III astride his galloping horse.
Today the sun was shining, office workers relaxing on the grassed areas, taking in a few rays before getting back to their keyboards. If you have a little time on you're hands, a casual meander would be quite pleasurable. Would recommend. ps if you find this review helpful, please give it a 👍
T. T.
Love the architecture of this square.
B. L.
As well as harbourside festival there is many coffee shops food and pubs close quartered . Keep your eye on music festivals / food /and many others too. Beautiful environment but typical of a grand square with surrounding trees and statues 10/10
R. W.
This green lung of Bristol is an open, green space. The car park arrangement around the edge is a distraction, but it's an ok place to chill in the open air
v. r.
Nice place to visit with a small park for the children to enjoy.
C. I.
Quiet plaza/park very close to the city center but nothing to do there
L. J.
Well cared for park with plenty of seating and paths, busy with cyclists and pedestrians close together makes it a little chaotic, but not a problem as long as you look where you're going.
N. S.
Nice little park. It's flat with mowed grass, and a statue in the middle. Nice when hot but gets busy!
J. L.
Queens square is a lovely flat open space in the centre of Bristol with parking around the outside. Popular in the summer for live music events, picnics, Frisbee, kick abouts.
A. B.
Lovely little green oasis. Had my lunch break today and enjoyed sitting on the grass. Will be lovely to add some benches or a small area with tables and seats during summerday for peeps to enjoy their lunchbreak. If you happen to shop from nickolas market there is no decent place for you to sit in the area and enjoy your meal. Same if you buy yourself a meal deal from tesco or sainsbury
M. J.
Saw Massive Attack live here. Nice sized open air venue but the only bar was far too small for 10k people. Nevertheless amazings gig supported by The Streets
P. L.
Walked around the corner to find 5 hot air balloons about to take flight... Awesome...
S. H.
Open green space in middle big city. Often puts in live music, comedy of food festivals. Loads of room for frisbee or football and surrounded by coble stones and Georgian buildings so picturesque
M. F.
Great place to spend time with friends if you don’t like to sit by the river, this place is always clean, I would say safe at the night as well... But this public place missing public toilets..
L. T. V.
Nice selfie opportunities. Good place for group photos. Building and interesting items photos. Take a 360 degree video with mobile to send to friends and relatives.
C. W.
Nice park, just try to avoid the cat sized seagulls, especially in the morning, and even more especially if you see them on a bombing run, they make a truly spectacular mess of a persons suit!!
D. J.
Bright and airy escape from urban pressures
M. B.
" Superb Place, awesome location, ample no of good Hangout Place, River view, curry restaurant, perfect place for morning & evening walk. I highly recommend this location to all Travellers. D. J. (.
It's a beautiful part of Bristol. With a nice selection of pubs and eateries located close to this part of the city. A really short walk here from Temple Meads train station.
p. b.
Worth a visit if you are new to Bristol. Some fine examples of Georgian architecture and the site of the first American consulate in the city (look for the wall plaque). Also a central part of the Bristol riots in the 18th century. Younger locals like to hang out here in the summer evenings.
T. B.
Lovely old part of the city, lined of grand houses of old. Nice place to enjoy coffee on a bench in the sun.

Whilst the architecture of Queens square is impressive and the green space in the centre adds to the ambience of this historic area some people might be upset when the area is rammed with people shopping and those endeavouring to enjoy the acrobatics on the central stage. That said, I would hope that the organisation might endeavour to control the flow of the mass of shoppers visiting the stalls around the cobbled area, as at times throughout the day one couldn't move, so packed was the visiting shopper etc.,

Lovely place to relax on a summers evening. Well maintained area. Good for children. Safe. Close to the water and lots of decent drinking establishments.
H. W.
A lovely city centre park. Not too much traffic, and nice and flat, so it's great for little ones to practice rad moves on their bikes and scooters.

Absolutely fantastic place. Great location for walking ect. 😊
O. K.
Lovely place to go eat your lunch and shoe family a great part of bristol with some excellent history very local to town and easily accessible parking which you pay for 4 hours like 4.60 very competitive for the length if stay.
L. W.
Once a marsh, now a lovely and historically important square thankfully restored back to its former glory. There's plenty of benches here, various businesses and little to no traffic, this is one of the few traffic free public spaces now in Bristol. The square is surrounded by water on 3 sides though these can't be seen from the square itself. It's a popular spot with sun bathers, office workers on a lunch break and tourists too. In the centre is a statue of William III which is still in excellent condition, there's usually plenty of sea gulls around too. Area very flat and green with gravel along the edge. Kings Street is very close by, a popular one for drinkers.
C. B.
An island of peace and tranquility amidst the bustle of the city. The grassed Square, surrounded by cobbled Street... take a moment to reflect on times past ...
G. O.
Nice park in the center. Old trees gives you shadow in the heatwave.

Easy parking on a Sunday after 10 am but limited to 2 hours parking at a time. On street around here is limited to an hour mostly. Parking in Bristol is expensive in the main.

A pleasant green area in the centre of Bristol. Benches dotted around and nice to sit out in the summer. Often has events hosted throughout the year.
E. I.
Not a quiet park. In the evening it's completely filled with weed smoke what makes jogging a much funnier activity.
M. D.
Lovely open space to relax and chill out.
T. S.
Petrol heads car meet. Classic cars every second Sunday of the month but please help keep the noise down and try to park sensibly as the traffic wardens sometimes patrol if there are complaints
R.
Home to many events, and an iconic bristol statue that usually ends up yarn bombed or with a cone on its head in true bristol fashion. Parking is good and the rest of town is easily accessible.

T. R.
Good place for a walk or to sit and have lunch. Also good if you like the history of Bristol when used with the 1831 Riot app
Q. V.
Nice and peaceful small square perfect to chill on in a quiet morning while people watching! Walked past it from the train station on my first time here and further observed how friendlier the people get once you get out of London. Got a chipper good morning from random bypassers.

P. A.
always a beautiful and tranquil place to be
J. B.
Handy parking at 2.50 all evening after 7, but even now Prince St Bridge is open southbound, the roadworks nightmare that is Bristol will thwart your attempts to exit on to the A4 Portway. At time of writing, the right turn on to Cumberland Rd after the bridge is blocked and you're sent on a late night horror drive through the devilish downtown road system that frightens even bus drivers here.
R. L.
Very peaceful, clean and pretty.
M. W.
A perfect place to sit and eat lunch on a sunny day, but outside the short window of summer when there are no events on in the square it's a lovely stroll but a bit too exposed to sit in inclement weather.
