Reviews of Victoria Park
S. W.
Great park to take a stroll in as has lots of paths. Good for wildlife as plenty of trees & shrubs. Squirrels everywhere lots of Blackheaded gulls pecking the grass for food, lots of birds. And some great play areas for children.
A. D.
An awesome park. So spacious. Plenty of playgrounds. Mini basketball courts. Benches. Green grass. Fantastic scenery. Would probably come here everyday if it were closer to home.
s. r. a. m.
Great park in Bristol, about 15-20 mins walking from Temple Meads & about 5 mins walking from Bedminster. This park has a great open green spaces, seems very clean, has lots of bins and has a nice outdoor play area bit.
B. K.
Cool environment. Clean park with beautiful garden, flower 🌹 and lawns. Wanna go for morning walk, have fresh oxygen just head towards Victoria park. You will discover peace of mind with greenery around
L. S.
Love Victoria Park, it's great for dog walks. Picnics in the summer as well!
S. D.
Great place for dog walking, cycling, scooters and strolling, with paths criss crossing the park. From the top path you can see great views above Bristol, including a glimpse of Clifton Suspension Bridge. There is a fenced play area for small children and plenty of dog poo bins.
P. C.
If in Bristol, a stroll nearby the place on a sunny day is fruitful.
E. K.
Large green space with pretty houses around
R. P.
If you want a place where history reaches to you and you get just a glimpse of what would have been like to live in a better century, a past century, Bristol Clifton is a place to go.
H. P.
l walked through this park like 6 times in 3 days and there was always some one new smelling the roses... People love the roses in this park, also there's a good swing set for kids.
B. S.
We walk our dog here every day, he loves it, we love it. In a normal summer there's plenty of BBQing going on. The grass gets mown often, even during lockdown. Tennis courts, bowls, table tennis. A fantastic coffee van called Stuffed run a by an awesome pair of sisters. The park itself is bigger than you think, always something new to find.
J. O.
I just love this park and part of Bristol!
I always note how clean it is... And now I know why. This morning I saw a man with his dog going 'round picking up all the litter and putting it in his trolley which he towed behind him (see photo).
When humanity drives me close to the edge I like to think of people like him.❤️
p. c.
Fantastic views of the city and a great spot to watch the sunset behind the Clifton Suspension Bridge.
One of my favourite places in Bristol to sit and watch the sunset.
D. V.
Beautiful park with many empty spaces :)!! Would be great to have a bit more new trees and some gardens (flower beds) so we have a bit more flowers but other than this beautiful park :)!! Definitely recommend!
W. D.
Great to visit if you have young kids. There is often a lovely coffee cart parked near the playground as well.
P. D.
Superb urban park with great open spaces and lots of nice places to sit. Very popular locally - particularly the well-maintained children's play area and the adjacent fields which are thronged with families in summer. Really good for a stroll or (somewhat hilly) jog as there is a fair bit of variety in the different parts of the park, and great views both across the city and over the Windmill Hill area.
V. X.
Great park, lots of sun and green spaces for kids to play or to chill. Many benches as well.
l. p.
This is a beautiful green belt that situated between, knowle ,Totterdown , Windmill hill and Bedminster. There is a sub train station on the windmill side of the park that gives quick and easy access to the main temple meads station. It covers a very large area , with the most stunning trees , it is a good place to get together with friend's and family and spend good quality time together or spend time just with your own self . It has a few play areas scattered around and some work out equipment on a circuit , there is also a bowling green and a small cafe that sells amazing coffee.
K. N.
Great place for sunday dinner had no problems with getting a table. Been there on few occasions always great service
S. S.
Great place for a picnic, game of footie, basketball., or just walk the dog.
S. B.
Great views across south Bristol, excellent vantage point for Totterdown's multicoloured terraced houses. Note that since late 2017 the coffee van has closed. Also the public toilets are rarely open
I. W.
Beautiful park. So many trees and pathways. A big play area for the children as well as a multi use court and a smaller multi use court. The gardens are well laid out on the top of the hill, for the adults there are bowls lawns and tennis courts. The toilet facilities leave a lot to be desired though. Glad to see they are building a new and improved cycle and pedestrian route.
G. S.
Great city centre park it has a massive children's play area, with seemingly every kind of swings and a skate park. Arboretum, Victorian statuary. Formal gardens, ponds open air theatre Free parking for an hour in main park ( very expensive near to Royal Cresent).
C. B.
Lovely outdoor space for all ages and groups of people. Also great for dog walking too
R. B.
Massive park. And duck ponds. Brilliant to take the kids. Free
j.
Lovely park which is well taken care of, its an incredible place to take your kids as it has a nice playground inside. It is also a good place for a relaxing walk as there are many walking lanes.
M. W.
In my opinion there is one of the best playgrounds for children. My daughter love it! .At Victoria Park also is lot of lovely trees, birds, flowers and walking paths. Perfect place for picnic, walking, running, reading a book, exercise, and many many more. Everyone will find something for themselves. A big bonus is a city view because the park is on the hill. Absolutely amazing place worth to visit!
l. m. d. p.
Very relaxed atmosphere all day long, lovely place for families! Has a great cafè.
R. S.
Beautiful park with tennis courts, football goal posts, basketball court, play park and off course greens👍👍👌
G. S.
Nice Park to walk around even has a basket ball court
P. M.
Large park which is quite steep in parts. Nice playground at the top with a camper van snack shack. Plenty of free parking on surrounding roads.
B. 1.
Great basketball court for pick up games
D.
A wonderful park suitable for a family day out, easy access via bus and brilliant for children too!
K. C.

L. N.
So much fun you can have with the kids and have an outdoor adventure even picnics so that they can stay out longer and enjoy the good weather.
K. B.
We had a beautiful walk around the park. We enjoyed the amazing views and saw the goats on the embankment and the cows and wild life. Brill day out.
r. g.
Victoria Park is an amazing park and my first experince of Autumn season in the Uk.
K. B.
Nice place to walk a dog but on a slope. Large play area at the top.
J. F.
Beautiful Park with lots of nice people engaging in wide variety of activities.
There is a lot of local history to this park and a basket ball court at one end of the park to enjoy.
F. L.
A gorgeous place for a walk with friends and family or even a run (there's a marked out 2km path all way round). In the summer, the whole place is doused in sunlight especially towards sunset. Bonfire night is particularly spectacular - there's a huge bonfire and hundreds of kids with sparklers
G. W.
Lovely park with paths for buggies however also has 2x kids play areas, 2x basketball courts and some areas of woodland to explore. On a hot day there will usually be a coffee van selling all the good things you'd like. Great park and dogs welcome!
I. J.
A well maintained lovely family park with rolling hills, two children's play areas, a basketball court, public toilets and a mobile cafe at the top.
It has a skate park too and shared lanes with cyclists.
I'm lucky to have it within easy walking distance of home.
D. J.
Huge well maintained green space attracting daily visitors for exercise, play, picnics and relaxation. A little haven from the bustling city nearby.
N. B.
Not living near the park ive never been before. I arranged to meet a few friends for some social time. A really nice park lots of children's play areas and open spaces for kids and dogs to run around. All the dogs and dog owners were very friendly. I would visit again but I imagine it gets very busy during sunny days.
Not sure if they have toilets here or not if I knew they did i would make it a 5 i just didn't really explore too much
S. P.
Pretty good park. Large space, mostly slopes, with a couple of good play areas: one for littlies (mostly under 7s) and one for bigger kids (4 to about 12). Basketball court at the bottom.
E. S.
Amazing park with great playareas. Huge expanses of grass. Tennis courts, skateboard park and occasional cafe. Only problem are the toilets are disgusting.
E. G.
Lovely park in South Bristol with great views
M. B.
Very nice park to walk in during the summer. And the winter is equally as good lol. Prefer the summer months however I do love all the seasons especially autumn. The green turns to brown. 👍
C. G.
Beautiful park.... stunning trees.... very well kept and litter free...
k. g.
It was pretty chill we spent most of our time at the skatepark and some improvements can definitely be made to the skatepark . There were also a group of 8 and 15 your olds smoking weed so was a bit dodgy.
C. F.
Lovley place for jogging ,playing with your kids or pets or simply for a relaxing walk. Also the place is big enough for all kinds of sports
J. P.
Victoria Park is always a beautiful place to chill, play some sports and watch the sunset :)
N. C.
Great place for a dog walk, great areas to sit down and hangout or play sports. 2 parks for kids to play in. Free parking around the park but it can get busy.
H. A.
It's a fairly hilly local park. Mostly grass with some play and basketball areas. Also 1 big and 1 small football pitches and tennis courts plus a mobile cafe. Rightly popular
N. P.
A great park and brilliant local amenity. Really good children's play areas. Great coffee and cake from the orange classic Peugeot van.
K. H.
One of the best parks in Bristol. If only the council would fix the toilets and playgrounds. Chronic under investment in a fantastic assest to South Bristol.
S. O.
Some steep climbs-keep you fit. Good views of Bristol. Small outdoor cafe, had a great chocolate drink and cake.
j. f.
Love the size of this park.its hilly but the contract is good.3 play parks for the kids and you get to see the trains
J. B.
Lovely big park. Great for dog walking.
S. S.
Great place for a Sunday walk
J. S.
Perfect park for dog walking
F.
There's a lovely view of the city across the valley, especially good at sunset. The park is mostly hills! Has a great flatland at the top though, big open grassy space. Quite exposed but if you get over that, it's good for yoga and circus practice. Also picnics and group meditation sessions, or whatever you're into. Get there before the football crowd arrive 😉
B. K.
A labour of love to provide the perfect environment to enjoy a delicious meal, have drinks with friends or spend an afternoon with the whole family. Serves high quality wines, a vast range of premium spirits, craft beers and local ales at affordable prices. The menu revolves around the best ingredients we can find – whether it be line-caught fish from the South coast, locally sourced free-range meat, seasonal fruits and vegetables or great British cheese.
A. H.
Lovely well used park, lots of families enjoying the outdoors, not overcrowded lots of accessible paths, tasty snacks & coffee. Shame no toilet facilities.
M. P.
Best park in Totterdown. The laps around it will get you roughly over five kilometres. Be warned, it's hilly!
J. D.
Wide open space. Lots of happy dogs racing about. Coffee shop well priced and operated by friendly helpful staff.
k. h. (.
Great park for all ages, enclosed play ground and mobile cafe. Unfortunately the public toilets were closed last i knew of
C. K.
Beautiful park! Lovely views. Perfect for.a walk or a jog.
N. m.
It is a nice park it is just a shame there is not enough lighting in the park or open spaces so people end up getting attacked on the night and the can not see who attacked them
J. G.
Lovely park ,nice for short cut into the centre or temple meads ,lovely for exercises and picnics.
J. C.
Huge greenery area, best park in Bristol. Has tennis and bowling club with meetings every Mon and Tue. Very nice place to bring family and walk dog. Walk from city centre takes about 40 min, scenery also nice.
S. C.
Good public space. Grass, trees, paths, tennis courts, bowling green, enclosed playground busy with young children after school this sunny autumn day. Well behaved happy dogs with responsible owners, parents with prams and toddlers, cyclists being considerate (when I was there, anyway!). All good.
N. S.
Beautiful park and a really lovely place for a walk. A few more benches would be nice.
C. H.
Beautiful park with play area for children and lots of green space with trees galore of shade is needed.
Nice Street food van as well serving drinks, cakes and other naughty bits.
A. R. L.
This park is LOVELY. It has more than one playground, a basketball court and large open spaces. It's good for dogs but near the entrance there's a huge muddy puddle where mine loves to have a bath. I would put in some lighting so it is safer at night. But overall it's great. The toilets were awful when they were open, but I think they're permanently closed now. So they won't ruin your day. Overall it's wonderful and you should definitely take your dog and whole family there.
N. H.
Beautiful place near the city center with very nice view. Good for walk, dog walk, running (if you like hills)or any sport activity.
J. P.
Mr favourite park on earth. Love the chilled out and relaxed atmosphere here and the cohesive but unobtrusive community feel!
H. C.
I love Victoria Park, it's my favourite park in Bristol, being very spacious. For about the last twelve years, there has been a mobile cafe here, Mrs Brown's, which was great. Not sure if it still trades from the park but the views from there were amazing. The park toilets were very grotty at last sighting though. To me, the only thing this park is missing is a pond/lake. It would be nice to have a library in there as well but I know that's not very likely.
L. C.
Lovely park to take kids to play safely.great for picnics
J. P.
Mr favourite park on earth. Love the chilled out and relaxed atmosphere here and the cohesive but unobtrusive community feel!
C. B.
Love taking the Grandchildren to the park to play on swings etc and get them an ice lolly.
G. W.
Lovely park with paths for buggies however also has 2x kids play areas, 2x basketball courts and some areas of woodland to explore. On a hot day there will usually be a coffee van selling all the good things you'd like. Great park and dogs welcome!
P. E.
Excellent apart from toilets. Only one open with no soap!
I. J.
A well maintained lovely family park with rolling hills, two children's play areas, a basketball court, public toilets and a mobile cafe at the top. …
N. S.
Beautiful park and a really lovely place for a walk. A few more benches would be nice.
N. H.
Beautiful place near the city center with very nice view. Good for walk, dog walk, running (if you like hills)or any sport activity.
H. A.
It's a fairly hilly local park. Mostly grass with some play and basketball areas. Also 1 big and 1 small football pitches and tennis courts plus a mobile cafe. Rightly popular
T. H.
It's a nice park for Bedders!
M. W. (. d.
Lovely park, nice trees and grass and stuff. Good place to get mugged on your way home from work in the winter.
G. P.
Absolutely beautiful park between Totterdown and Windmill Hill.
Doesn't matter if you're here on your own, with your partner, or with your children. It's always a lovely place to be.
P. L.
Fabulous kid and dog friendly park. Extremely big and very friendly people. Great views over the city. Has tennis courts bowling a cafe ( weather dependent)also poppular with joggers & cyclists.
A. K.
A large expanse of grassland. Great for a run. Play grounds lacking quality for the kids otherwise a great a place. No lighting at night making is a potentially risky place to walk through at night. There have been muggings and stabbings here in the past due to this reason.
H. J.
Great place for an outdoors walk. Lots to do for children and a lovely coffee shop van located by the toilets.
P. M.
Vast and busy, something to do for everyone here. Could use few public toilets in the centre. Many an embarrassed pilgrims have been caught short.
A. S.
Great dog walking park
F. T.
Huge park that has pretty much, something for for everyone. Love going for relaxing walks around the park. It also has some great views of Bristol
J. H.
Lovely traditional park with a good playground and a snack bar for ice-cream or bacon butties depending on your mood.
B. M.
Swing park, table tennis, tennis, bowls, football pitch & awesome views north over most of central Bristol. This park has it all. A secret tip is that if weather allows on NYE at midnight if you are at the highest point between the football pitch and school you will have a 360 firework display. 😘
M. G.
I visited Bristol in January 2019. We walked my mate's dog. The park itself is well maintained. Like the hilly part with great running pathways.
C. C.
Great children's playing area meat the park Cafe which sells lovely local coffee, cake and vegetable ice lollies plus a whole lot more. Plenty of storage to walk your dog.
L. V.
Beautiful park, really large with lots of hidden areas, like the skate park and excellent children's play area.
S. P.
A lovely park covering a wide area with plenty of amenities for families and also excellent views of the city. A skatepark, multiple football pitches and a basketball court as well as a small children's playground provide an excellent location for a family day out, but the park can be somewhat dangerous at night.
G. L.
Majority of fellow dog walkers are lovely people, some odd and inconsiderate ones as well. Biggest gripe for me is cyclists who don't sound a bell, or haven't got one, and travel far too fast.
A.
Absolutely beautiful! Deffo recommend.
I. S. I.
Beautiful park. Spacious and with stunning views.
C. K.
Nice place on a sunny day, you can look down to Bristol from the hill.
C. C.
Lovely park, bug open space, some goalposts, basketball hoops in two different areas, children's play area with several installations, generally very clean and tidy, paths all around it
M. K.
It's beautiful there. Just the grass gets pretty muddy but lots of asphalt paths which are dry.
T. B.
Nice park, good places to sit.
M. J.
Perfect place to view the lights of the city
D. P.
Although the council are repairing the paths at the moment this park is a fabulous facility. Lots if activities for all ages. A cafe. Nice dog walking.
R. L.
Lovely park with lots of bushy bits perfect for a dog to sniff around, both myself and my dog love it over here!
W. G.
Decent park, nice and big, has good facilities (toilets, tennis courts, playgrounds, woods, football pitches etc.)
R. T.
One of the biggest parks in Bristol. It has a real community feel. There are several kids play areas, tennis courts, a skate park, 5 a side court, football pitch and the excellent Mrs Brown's cafe. We love it.
R. G.
Wide open space with loads of playgrounds. Ideal for a family walk. It can get quite busy though!
G. F.
Quite small play area but lovely park
N. C.
Nice large open space to be enjoyed by all. Often hosting events such as bonfire night and various summer/winter fairs. Lacks lighting during night
R. C.
One of my favorite parks in Bristol. Plenty of open space to wander or just lie on the grass. Users do tend to keep it clean, however it wouldn't hurt Bristol City Council to put a few more bins around the place as those that are there tend to get over filled in the summer months.
There is a small cafe that do excellent coffee and cakes at very good prices.
Do not confuse with the Victoria Park pub, as some reviewers seem to have done, the pub is nowhere near as big, has more indoor space, and has fewer squirrels.
R. a.
One of the largest maintained parks in the south of Bristol. Children's areas, bowls, tea shop at the top of the park - seasonal opening times, basketball / football court - all weather surface. Park is 1 mile around perimeter. Seasonal activities include military training, sledging when it snows, and kiting when it blows.
J. C.
This is our local park and it's a real Bristol gem. Large & rolling it also has open, flat grassy areas. Tree lined paths, two well maintained, well equipped children's play areas, two basket ball courts, two sets of football goals (one as part of a full pitch), a tennis club, a bowling club, a skate park, a small water maze and a fantastic local cafe (soon to be reopened). Bedminster train station is right next door and it's about a 15 minute walk from Bristol city centre.
A. O.
Football, rugby, basketball, bike, scooter, electric scooter, big ole J in the park? You name it Viccy park is the one!
A. G.
Great Park .. went to Staint Mary Redcilff School ( in the park )... Over 40 years ago
Fond memories .... Off growing up in Staint Lukes Road & Saint Luke's Crescent , Totter Down
d. b.
Nice relaxing open space with multiple entrances. Dont recommend going up the bedminster side if you have asthma or lung problems as the walk is steep
J. B.
Quite nice- lots of things to read and such. Shame kids ruin the river with their annoying boats, should have a fine for that sort of thing.
S. C.
A great park with two playparks, for older and younger kids. Some sports pitches and tennis courts at the top. There are sometimes events like the BYO fireworks display on bonfire night. There is a very good cafe at the top of the hill.
A. V.
Nice place in close proximity of houses.Good for kids cycling.Good for children who likes climbing ropes. Not for toddlers.Spring water maze looks good.
J. T.
Dog liked it. He said half of it smelled of gentrification and the other half 9f desperation. He's a good dog with a superior (in dog terms) olfactory sense, so I value his opinions highly. The other dogs were very friendly and all up for playing the "You can sniff mine if I can sniff yours" game that the 4 legged friends like to play in public. The owners were also quite chatty and friendly, one of them in excess, I know now that the council wasted 5 million quid on a bridge to nowhere, and the council are trying to make up by fining dog owners who don't keep their dogs on a lead. My dog is a free spirit and goes where he feels like, but at the risk of a £100 fine (according to my learned new friend) I thought I better keep him on the lead. He was not happy about that, hence the 3 star review
H. W.
Large park, mix of open spaces and trees! Great view of Bristol landmarks at the top of the hill too.
G. E.
Big park with large grassy areas and a nice playground.
j. t.
Nice big park .. some good views. Plenty of space for panics. It is not very flat.
A. V.
Large, hilly park with lots to do including a good children's play area and tennis courts. There's also a cafe with nice views over Totterdown at the top of the hill.
C. L.
It's a fairly large park that is spacious enough to walk/jog around and that is nice environment to relax in. It is only a fairly short walk to the centre of Bristol.
V. V. A.
Big and clean green park, lovely playground for the children. The station side should be kept more cleaned and looked after it, especially for children who play in that area.
R. M.
It's quite big ,very green and nice park. I live to the nearest neighbourhood and I walk there whenever I have the chance. It has nice views as well of other city parts and neighbourhoods of Bristol :)
D. K.
Beautiful place for a cup of tea, and a chill. Plenty to do for the kids, and a great place to walk the dog
C. B.
Love taking the Grandchildren to the park to play on swings etc and get them an ice lolly.
F. Y.
Lovely, large parkto take the family and pets out to. Went there for bonfire night and the atmosphere was great. Accessible with off street parking.
r.
Great park with lots of interesting areas, something for small kids, big kids, dog walkers, flower beds, and a sacrificial blood alter for vampires. It's got it all!
W. E.
There were numerous small pyramids and it was filled with humanoid like creatures adorned in woven fabrics. I was aghast, dumbfounded and left totally ill at ease with the situation as I'm 40% amphibian and can't wear clothes as they would be permenantly damp from my regular moistenings. However the trees were green (traditional) and the grass was cropped close to the soil (practical). I'd say that I would come back again..so long as they do something about the smell (it smells of air).
S. A.
Only walked through but looks like there's plenty of space and the parked looked nice. Only downside for me is some of the hills are quite steep and I was pushing a double buggy and all our bags, so struggled a little.
S. M.
Lovely park clean & looked after
A. S.
Big park with lovely views and a café, perfect for bikes and kids
B. W.
My favourite park in Bristol. Beautiful in the summer. A place for everyone to enjoy with plenty of space to hang out
D. F.
Great Park.
Food van is brilliant! Nice coffee and cake whilst the kids play.
C. “. F.
Very good food and atmosphere. It's a shame that the old pub (Raymend) had to close down, but at least the successor is successful.
The interior is kinda nice, but the old red wallpaper matched the red bricks on the outside. The traditional style bar from the previous pub suited the building better too. I don't know, maybe I just don't like change.
I'm glad there's still a pub on the street.
C. J.
Lovely open space, great park for the kids.
S. R.
Park full of child hood memories, beautiful open space in a large housing quarter, like most local public parks suffering from local cuts but still good for a walk, jogging and taking young ones to the swings
L. C.
Beautiful oasis of calm In the middle of our busy city.
A. C.
Lovely big park, good views, variety of areas, nice playground and a good cafe. (Cafe only outdoors and open if weather ok). Also good pubs and a bakery nearby.
I. B. (.
A large park in the center of Bristol, loads of open space for running, picnics and just to chill out in. There is also basketball court, children's play area and a few other things to keep the little ones entertained!
K. W.
Lovely, big park with lots of different trees.
Perfect for families with kids and dogs owners.

Whenever it rains there's always big sloshy puddles on the pathways you have to avoid to the right of the main entrance at the bottom end of the park, its mostly due to the paths not being properly leveled and also the bin men drives the vans with their wheels running each side of the path turning up the grass.
R. A.
Large pub with a good garden and a great menu. The food was very good and the staff are welcoming and very helpful. Well worth a visit.

Surprisingly, this park is one of the darkest places in the south west of England - an "Orion Class" dark space (means that you can see Orion's Belt). I've been there at night to look at the sky and it's true: an artefact of the tree planting and the surrounding land.
Could do with a couple of street lights to the north shaded so that dark adaptation happens a bit quicker. And it's a lot closer than Exmoor or the Brecon Beacons to the centre of town (Bristol)...
D. H.
