Bit pricey, easy access though and a quiet area, almost guaranteed a space.

Great spot for parking when visiting Durham short walk along the river to shops and cathedral and free after 2pm !!!!

Lovely parking beside the river and a cafe at the entrance, perfect for a Riverside walk.

Not a bad car park to park at
Nice walk in to the city along the river and free after 2pm March 2022

Just normal post and display car park

Outside of the town. Thus was not a problem. Used paybyphone.com. Parking is free after 2 pm which is a bonus.
R. T.
Cheaper than the multi- storey car park with a bit of a walk to the middle of town
C. L.
Easily accessible car park with c100 spaces, suitable for campervans and motorhomes - no height barrier (and don't worry about the access road, the building that cross above is very high).
Monday to Sunday 8.00am to 10.00pm for a flat fee of £3.60, free after 10.00pm.
The Pennyferry footbridge crosses the river to the Sands car park and the Gala Theatre (fine for shorter stays, charged by time bands) and into the city centre. Great base for a full day in the city. Virtually empty on Sundays.

80p/Hr, but often quieter than other carparks in the city centre.

There are generally spaces available and the carpark is supprisingly close to Durham City Centre. Charges are £1.60 for two hours, pay and display.

Quite small and inexpensive, we were lucky and found a space.

Lots of work continuing on upgrading the area. Be prepared to get stuck in traffic.

It's a Park and Ride at Durham buses are clean and run frequently. There are toilets there and it is wheelchair friendly

Using pay by phone charges more than using the contactless card payment available, so pointless!

5-30 for twelve hours not bad
C. H.
