We have just returned from a stay at the Murrayfield Hotel. The hotel was fantastic….. spacious room, spotlessly clean. Restaurant served great food and service from the staff was exceptional. Worthy of a higher star rating. Thank you for a superb stay. Karen & Graham

A good hotel just on the outskirts of the centre of Edinburgh but if you're travelling by car it's perfect as there is a carpark. Rooms are perfect, tea and coffee facilities, TV, iron, towels, dressing gowns and good beds. All the staff were brilliant. Maybe 20 minutes walk to the Haymarket for majority of people, the same again to Princess Street, or a bus particularly outside the hotel to either. Also the zoo a short distance away in the opposite direction.

Overall a good stay in this hotel. Our stay was interrupted when we were told we cannot park in the hotel car park as they were erecting a marquee for the Rugby the following week. Whilst this made sense, we were not told of this when booking and parking was an essential requirement. The person who advised I couldn't park there didn't even work on the hotel, he worked for the company who owns it, he was extremely rude and offered no help in finding a space. The room was good when we upgraded (standard room was too small) and the reception staff were helpful. Clean rooms with a good TV, WiFi and smart TV. The more expensive rooms do need updating, though. The visit was made by a young Australian barmade (didn't get her name sadly!). Her service, attitude and work ethic were fantastic and she is a credit to the hotel. She was the only staff member that helped with the car situation and ended up finding me a space at the hotel next door, she also let the manager there know to ensure there'd be no further issues. Overall a good hotel in a good location at a reasonable price. Saved by amazing service from the young Australian lady.

We stayed here for a couple of nights. Very comfortable bed. Large room. Tea and coffee included in the room. Breakfast was very good. You pay extra for this and it is definitely worth having. The grounds are lovely and well kept.

We really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely return if we visited Edinburgh again. We stayed for four nights in total at The Murrayfield. The hotel is located very close to the stadium and is on a main bus route into town. The bus was only £1.90 single and there was also an airport bus that stopped very nearby. The check in process was smooth and the decor is really nice. It has a modern twist but still retains the Victorian features and charm of the building. The room was clean and had a good quality bathroom, albeit a little cosy in there. There was a clue in the name ‘cosy double’ though. Tea and coffee facilities with a Tunnocks Caramel bar was a nice touch. The breakfast was delicious. The ingredients were of a great quality, especially the haggis and sausage. Nice choice too. I would recommend if you want somewhere to stay just out of the hustle and bustle. It worked nicely as we had a car, so the parking on site and nearby was really handy too. The staff were also very friendly and helpful.

Clean rooms. Entire hotel has lots of historical character. Well situated for games \ events at Murrayfield. As well they have at least one decent size function room for hosting large groups. Car parking is limited, if you're driving. We'll definitely be back.

Amazing 2 x night stay in a massive lovely Big Fancy Room with a really great en suite. The food in the restaurant , the bothy was amazing , that was for our evening meal and breakfast in the morning . The staff were excellent , polite and helpful. My 4th visit to the Murrayfield House Hotel and I will definitely go back. Very well situated for the Edinburgh City centre and the Edinburgh zoo.

Great hotel well located friendly staff only a couple of downsides, No Aircon in Room , as rooms become stuffy & condensation on windows, (mould appearing on bottom of blinds as a result) unable to turn down red hot radiators , if your room is located on the car park side the staff arriving at 5:30am very noisy slamming doors, talking loudly to the point of waking up then followed by the bin lorry at 7:30am right outside window making alot of noise. Other than them points the hotel its self was nice, nothing special basic but expected at price.

We had the absolute pleasure of staying here for 1 night this week. We loved it and so did our 2 children. Our room was amazing, the beds were really comfortable, the showers were huge and we didnt hear any noise from the traffic or anything else through the night. Our breakfast on the morning of cheakout was so nice. Andy our waiter was a really nice man, so friendly and funny as well. We will definatley stay here again the next time we visit Edingburgh. Thanks to all involved at the Murrayfield House Hotel.

Great location and decent room but was in an extension bit. Patio door out to a wee garden area but no window and no way of opening the patio door without it being fully open. No air con either so room was hot. Nice enough place and would still go back just not that rooms.

Nice hotel we picked our room to stay in looked lovely but when we got there they put us in a disabled room it was still nice but the bathroom floor was always wet from the shower and the toilet was to high for me still a nice place has a restaurant in it, stayed for breakfast that was nice but we only seen to men rushed of there feet to sort everything out.

Absolutely beautiful hotel. The start was a little rocky due to a 21st being held in the hotel, noise was unbearable (I think we were the room closest). The receptionist was absolutely fantastic. She offered to move rooms, which we accepted and we were moved to the house instead. I would highly recommend the house if possible, the rooms were even more beautiful. Breakfast was not my cup of tea but may be if you fancy continental with a bit of hot food.

High end hotel, with exceptional service. On our last night there we had a very early flight home, so we were up till 3 am drinking at the bar. Bartender was incredibly gracious and went out of his way to provide exceptional service. Very highly recommended!

Had brunch in the Bothy and then drinks on the terrace. Food was fantastic and staff exceptional. App ordering system for drinks is straightforward and simple and makes life so easy. We were out as a couple but lots of family and friend groups there as well. Highly recommend if you are looking for quality food, drinks and service in a comfortable and enjoyable location.

Loved it. Beautiful hotel, great/friendly staff, and the place smelled AMAZING. They also had a wonderful selection of tea and treats in the room. Only complaint is there's no lift, so you have to lug your suitcases up the stairs, although the staff helped so it was no real hardship. If you are used to AC and/or fridges in your room, those are not provided either.

The staff ate friendly and accommodating. We had to leave very early in the morning and the kitchen packed us a breakfast box. The hotel has a lot of history but the room although small has all that you need. Had to run the shower for a long time before the hit water made it upstairs!

Due to an emergency I had to stay for a few days, all Day. We could not have asked for more friendly and supportive staff! The hotel itself has a lot of flair, you will feel at home. The windows and doors have a few years in them, they were not real easy to operate, the door did not keep the noise out. That was the only issue worth mentioning. The restaurant serves delicious local food, the Bar offers excellent drafts & spirits. We will stay here again, should we return to Edinburgh one Day, promise!

Good hotel close to the city relatively with parking. The hotel was clean and cozy. Staff were helpful and ensured a pleasant checkin and out process. We stayed in a room on the second floor, and unfortunately people slamming doors (instead of letting the door close slowly) really woke us up several times the first night. But otherwise no issues and would stay here again!

Stylish decor, comfortable and clean rooms. White company toiletries and has 2 robes and slippers in each room. The restaurant served delicious meals and breakfast was great. F&B staff were very accomodating and helpful! Easy to get to from the airport. Airlink 100 bus and 6 stops later you are at the hotel. Only negative is the grout and seal in the shower enclosure needs to be replaced or cleaned thoroughly. Will be staying again.

At the start heating wasn't working in the room! For two nights after mentioning it twice to staff. After that every thing was grand. The room itself is amazing very spacious and location is ace! Thank you! Would stay again!

Absolutely love this hotel! Have visited twice this year now and it's been great both times! The decor is beautiful and absolutely no complaints - the breakfast is lovely too and good for veggies like me. It's also only a £5/£6 Uber taxi into Edinburgh City Centre so well worth staying here in a nicer boutique hotel and just travelling in and out. Couldn't recommend it anymore, and your staff are lovely. Especially the gentleman at the front desk who was so lovely and helpful... unsure on his name but he's young and Scottish (obviously!) with a beard! :) Anyway, thanks for a lovely stay if I ever come back to Edinburgh again I wouldn't stay anywhere else.

I attended a meeting of the local Rotary Club tonight and overall the experience was positive! Regarding the meal it was haggis without another choice. I like haggis but not everyone does. Tea and coffee took ages to appear so this also explains why I do not give this hotel 5 stars.

Our room was great, nice large bed and a fantastic bathroom. We experienced some problems, including the room attendants not giving us enough toilet paper! I think we were just a bit unlucky though. The restaurant is quite nice but pricey, the italian guy serving us looked miserable, he should probably consider his career options.

We stayed here for our wedding night and what a great choice. So good we checked in for another night. All 40 something of our guests were well looked after and enjoyed their stay. We stayed in a luxury suite in the house two doors down and it was beautifully decorated and a real treat. Our rooms had great views over Murrayfield stadium where our wedding reception was held. We chose this hotel for our wedding party as it's a 4 min stumble from the stadium. We chose to eat in the hotel a few times and the food is lovely, we often come for the Sunday dinner and the peanut butter creme brulee is a favourite. We'd be sure to recommend both the hotel and restaurant to future visitors to Edinburgh.

We had to move hotel due to being lied to by booking.com about parking. Murrayfield welcomed us with open arms. The receptionist was very welcoming and understanding. The room was standard. Very clean, nice and compact. Bed was comfortable and big enough that i could get away from my partners snoring. The smartTV was an amazing addition and a lot more love island was watched than I want to admit. The shower pressure was high. Clean shower good shower gel and nice temperature range. Bathroom was overall compact, clean and smart. The restaurant is well priced and very good. Had many fruity cocktails and enjoyed one of the best burgers I have had in a while. The location can be annoying if visiting the centre but there is always public transport AND a free car park. TLDR good quality for money nice big bed big smart TV good food and alcoho free parking. Will be returning

The Murrayfield is perfectly situated if you want to be close enough to enjoy the city center but out of the hustle and bustle. The room was clean, but the overall care on the decor was lacking. The walls were dirty with visible paint pealing in the bathroom from a leak above. Furthermore the dimmer switch was completely missing and no information was provided as to what food was available or how to contact staff if so needed. On top of this some of the staff were slightly curt and made us feel unwelcome. On a positive note the bed was comfortable and noise was not an issue at any time. In all the Murrayfield was good if you are just happy with a bed, however if you are there for a special occasion I would suggest looking else where as the rooms did not impress.

Overall experience was good. The bar staff were attentive when we went in. The food was delicious and reasonable price. Would have had dessert but the waiting staff were very slow at taking the orders and weren't very attentive. They were often found chatting amongst themselves at the bar area away from the restaurant.

This place has a lot of potential. Sadly, it doesn't quite reach up to it. We stayed here for three days. The rooms are great, however it all requires a little more attention to detail. The walls are dirty, holes in the bedlinnen and dirty bathroom walls. The hotel itself looks great, a mix of country cosiness with a modern twist. However, outside and in the hall there are signs and christmas decorations, urging you to book a Christmas Dinner... In July. A little odd. Breakfast was an overall let down. Usually this is the best part of staying in a hotel. The first day I ordered French Toast. Apparently this was just a few pieces of Fried bread, which isn't french toast in my book. The second day, Eggs Benedict which was okay. The last day was a mess. Everything on the buffet table was gone and they had too few staff to refill, clear tables and take orders. Overall it was fine. It is close to the city center, only takes a few minutes to get to town. Just needs a little more attention to detail.

The free WiFi advertised is not available in the rooms, only in the bar, restaurant or lounge which was a pain. Unfortunately there was a major football game on so the noise was pretty excessive but that couldn't be helped either. The service was brilliant and the staff were always friendly and helpful.

The room is really luxurious and well decorated. The bathroom was stunning. Good air con to keep it cool. Didn't like the TV in the mirror. The lighting was bright enough to cause glare on TV but not bright enough for good mirror selfies. Also I hated the bathroom mirrors the lighting was weird and I had to be 2inches from the mirror to avoid shadows so I could apply my makeup. The rain shower had good pressure but the temperature ran between hot and mild even at 6am when I doubt other people were showering. Very disappointing. Also my WiFi kept dropping out. Would not recommend the breakfast service as it is not worth it and long waiting time.

Nice boutique style hotel, probably given a room reserved for people who don't book directly, as was nothing like the images on the site, however the room was cosy, warm and quaint. Good room, facilities, bathroom, iron, heater, kettle etc included. Free on-site parking! (A nice change for us English folk!) Nice restaurant and bar on site, with a nice selection of different items on the menu. Breakfast is available at a supplementary cost, and can be added on to room price.

Great atlantica haddock fish and chips. Experienced bar to make many drinks. Even obscure canadian ones. Great friendly staff who are always willing to help. Most deffintly will be returning for festival season.

Big chairs and umbrellas however we did have a problem with wasps considering it was October! A wasp catcher would have made our experience better as one landed in our drinks making it undrinkable. Located a quick nus ride from Edinburgh Castle. Walking distance to the zoo. Our room was amazing. Very comfortable. Light blocking shades, tea service,vfree wifi, nice bathroom. No complaint at all. Be aware, though, there is no elevator. The restaurant and bar are also very good. Service in the hotel and in the restaurant is top-notch.

Had a slight problem with Expedia advertising the wrong pictures for the wrong rooms however staff were extremely helpful and moved us into a nice room we were happy with. Location is excellent and has good road parking with busses that run right into the centre. Only disappointment was breakfast where cooked breakfast was stopped due to Covid and we were told to come to reception to collect a breakfast bag which was very disappointing. Dinner and breakfast could still supposedly still be bought and dinner was even served in the breakfast room so it was all quite confusing.

Probably the best hotel we've stayed at throughout our entire honeymoon! The hotel and its rooms are super well decorated. Cozy is the word. Every day they refill your cookie jar with more cookies. Tea selection is also amazing, my favorite 'camomile vanilla honey', tastes like butter scotch. The Airline 100 Bus is so convenient, it brings you right into the heart of Dublin within 10 or so minutes. The best part, buses come every 5 min. The Bothy restaurant also doesn't fail you. The quality of food is high, and service from Andy was memorable. If you don't opt-in for breakfast, then it's 10 pounds per person and the spread of the Irish Continental breakfast is delightful. Not only do you get fresh orange juice, yogurt, all the cereals, dried fruits, croissants, danishes, fresh bread, spread of Irish cheeses, charcuterie meats, but also smoked Mackerel and Salmon! I'll truly miss my stay here and will definitely come back for more!

With over 200 members in our group on the day the staff coped fantastically to accommodate all our needs. The hotel provided live music, food stalls, pop-up bars outside in the Beer Garden, marquees and portable toilets. It was apparent as soon as we arrived at the hotel that huge preparation & planning had taken place to ensure everyone had a fantastic time. Stayed a night here before our flight back home. Front desk was nice enough to let us leave our bags with them until check in time. The restaurant was nice too and our server was really friendly! I gotta knock down points because when after we checked out and left, my boyfriend realized he left his jacket in the closet which then we called immediately to let them know, and they confirmed that they found it and told us that they would send it back to us via post. I was super relieved and impressed by their service. I even emailed with them to communicate this as well which they confirmed. But a month later, still no coat, so we called for an update, that said they would call us back, I inquired via their website, no response. Bummer. ☹️

The staff in the restaurant were also lovely and the food was amazing! When we arrived the man on the desk gave us a map of Edinburgh, showing us where everything was. He also told us where to catch the bus into the city centre. The bus stop was less than a minutes walk from the hotel, and it cost £1.80 each way to get into the centre of Edinburgh, with busses every 10-15 mins. It is also right opposite Murrayfield Stadium if visiting there.

We stayed here for 5 days. Upon arriving to the hotel, while the room was lovely, we were slightly dissapointed by the size, which was shown on booking.com as a lot larger. We weren't the only ones to note this - when we came down one morning another guest was complaining at the desk about this issue. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the room had high ceilings and the windows were wide. The curtains were so dark that we slept super well! The towels were replaced daily as well as our bed made and cups replaced. The bathroom was small but well laid out and nicely finished. The sink was very small and a shelf was put directly over it which made brushing teeth and doing things like filling the kettle or water bottles difficult. Connections from the hotel to the city are excellent. There are buses very regularly. It is only a short walk to Edinburgh zoo, which we would highly reccomend. Despite our minor issues we greatly enjoyed our stay.

We had booked with Booking a room with two single beds and a French bed of 32 square meters. The room in which they accommodate us is half the size and we find a double bed and a sofa bed, French size, very uncomfortable. We point this out and they propose the division of the double bed into two singles, which would have further limited the space in the room, so we refuse the offer. The evening before departure we ask to book a taxi for the airport at 04.45. In the morning we wait in vain in front of the hotel and asking at the reception we have the unpleasant surprise to discover that there is no reservation for us. So we have to do our own thing thanks to Uber. We always ask the receptionist for the courtesy of sending us postcards, but he refuses on the grounds that he has no idea how to send mail to Europe. La sera prima della partenza chiediamo di prenotarci un taxi per l'aeroporto alle ore 04.45. La mattina aspettiamo invano davanti all'hotel e chiedendo in reception abbiamo la sgradevole sorpresa di scoprire che non c'è nessuna prenotazione per noi. Quindi dobbiamo provvedere autonomamente grazie a Uber. Chiediamo sempre all'addetto della reception la cortesia di spedirci delle cartoline, ma si rifiuta adducendo che non aver idea di come fare a spedire la posta verso l'Europa. No comment...

We had to wait first - we had to make a phone call to find out what went wrong ... After a long wait, we were able to move into all of our rooms, which were clean and functional. However, one of our booked rooms had several quirks, which were not resolved even after a complaint at the front desk, although it was firmly promised. It should actually be feasible that you can open the window in a hotel room or that the ventilation in the bathroom works without a window - unfortunately neither is the case. The consequence was that it was always stuffy in the room and the window was nice and damp after taking a shower. One day we had an excursion and we had to leave the hotel before the regular breakfast time. We ordered a take-away breakfast at reception the evening before - just a sandwich or croissant - so nothing expensive. We were promised that this is possible and that it will be prepared for us! Unfortunately that wasn't the case. Sorry folks, but a hotel that still has a restaurant downstairs should actually have plastic wrap or aluminum foil to wrap a sandwich. We liked the food and the drinks in our own hotel restaurant! On the last evening we sat down for a drink in the restaurant. However, we had to wait until we could order - it was more important first to clean the neighboring tables and to re-cover them. When we paid, the tip was brought back to us demonstratively on our plate - the young lady might have hoped for more ... we have never experienced anything like that! Conclusion: Hotel rooms are clean and good if the windows and ventilation work! Unfortunately, we often felt fooled and not really welcome. Pity! (Original) Wir hatten für unseren Familienurlaub 2 Doppelzimmer und 1 Einzelzimmer gebucht. Als wir ankamen waren für uns 6 zimmer reserviert - egal,lieber zu viel zimmer als zu wenig...Wir mussten erst mal warten - es musste telefoniert werden,um raus zu finden, was schief gelaufen ist... Nach langem warten konnten wir dann alle unsere Zimmer beziehen, die sauber und Funktional eingerichtet waren. Eines unserer gebuchten zimmer hatte jedoch mehrere Macken, die auch nach Beschwerde an der Rezeption nicht behoben wurden, obwohl es fest zugesagt wurde . Es sollte eigentlich machbar sein, dass man in einem Hotelzimmer das Fenster aufmachen kann bzw. Die Lüftung im Bad ohne Fenster funktioniert - beides leider nicht der Fall. Hatte die folge das es im zimmer immer stickig war und die Fenster nach dem duschen schön feucht. An einem Tag hatten wir einen Ausflug und wir mussten vor der regulären Frühstückszeit das Hotel verlassen. Wir bestellten uns an der Rezeption am abend vorher ein Frühstück zum mitnehmen - nur ein Sandwich oder Croissant - also nichts aufwendiges. Uns wurde zugesagt, dass dies möglich ist und für uns vorbereitet wird! Leider war das nicht der Fall. Ich nehme an es war noch der Nachtportier am frühen Morgen, der uns sagte, die Kollegin hat einen Fehler gemacht - sie könnten uns kein Sandwich machen...- es gäbe wohl nichts,worin sie es einpacken können..... Sorry Leute, aber ein Hotel das unten noch ein Restaurant hat sollte eigentlich eine Frischhalte - oder Alufolie haben, um ein Sandwich einzupacken. Das Essen und auch die getränke im eigenen Hotelrestaurant haben uns gut geschmeckt! Am letzten Abend haben wir uns noch auf eine runde Getränke ins Restaurant gesetzt. Bis wir bestellen konnten mussten wir allerdings warten - es war wichtiger erst mal die Nachbartische sauber zu machen und neu einzudecken. Beim bezahlen wurde uns das Trinkgeld demonstrativ auf dem Teller zurück gebracht - die junge Dame hatte sich vielleicht mehr erhofft...sowas haben wir wirklich alle noch nie erlebt ! Fazit : Hotelzimmer sauber und gut , wenn Fenster und Lüftung funktionieren! Leider kamen wir uns oft veräppelt vor und nicht wirklich willkommen. Schade!
