Reviews of Thrums Edinburgh
Receptionist was very accommodating and pleasant. Rooms are spacious, very clean and quiet. The free secure parking to the rear of the hotel is excellent! The hotel is on the direct bus route into the city centre, walking distance to Arthur's Seat and various other attractions. WiFi in the hotel is also really good. All in all, we have stayed at the hotel a number of times and also recommended it to work colleagues. Staff here are very helpful. Highly recommended!
Very cool old guest house, great staff, nice room, clean and quiet, and only 20 minutes walk into the heart of Edinburgh, will be going back there for sure some day soon.
We could hear cars from our room. Apart from that, the place was good and the stuff was nice to us. We would recommend the place, the location was also good.
Small but quiet place for a great get away on your own. Loved it!
Traditional house relatively close to city centre. Plenty of places to eat locally. Comfortable and clean though in parts felt quite dated, but fitting with the location/style.
Staff are great but received a room at the front door and you can hear everything that goes on till late for the late arrivers to the 4:30 am leavers. Room ok beds were like cots.
Five stars for customer service! I was stranded not a room available in the city and the owner Javid was helpful as if I was family! He found a space for me and drove me there himself! Further, I didn't have money for the room he found and he let me pay it to him the next day once I made it to an ATM. Friendly family run place made all the difference! It's all about the people and the caring!
Nice enough place, beds not very comfortable, but low enough price to forget that.
Great Serives with friendly staff and very nice rooms
Good stay. Staff not too warm.
Friendly stuff, rooms are small but clean. TV could be bigger. The heater did not work on the first night, but was fixed immediately.
I’ve stayed here several times now and every time have been so pleased. The rooms are lovely and clean with refreshments and toiletries. Good WiFi. Ample parking at their rear car park. Lovely staff members. Can not fault this hotel at all! Will always stay here on my trips to Edinburgh.
I've stayed in 6 places in Scotland on my last trip, 2 of which in Edinburgh, the Thrums was the best guest house, in good walking distance for the city's, large room, quiet, beautiful shower, my girlfriend loved it and we will be staying there again.
Simple but friendly B&B in Edinburgh not in the center but you've got places to eat nearby and bus stop!
Great place friendly helpful staff very comfortable
Excellent for price. Really nice and helpfull staff.
Shower was not the greatest due to poor water pressure and erratic temperature. As it was three work colleagues we moved the beds slightly and unfortunately found a few pieces of rubbish under them which is unacceptable. The television was tiny
Near enough the centre to be easy to visit. Far enough to be quite.
Good place to sleep on your way.
Nice place, close to the old city
Hospitable and helpful hosts, clean rooms, english breakfast
Nice price clean and nice service.
Lovely, basic accommodation. Staff were welcoming and helpful throughout. Room was comfortable with a little TV. Location is good but it's on a buys main road so not very idyllic. Bus connections into town are good.
Very nice large room victorian style.large gardens.
Excellent! Clean, warm, with hot water.
Stayed here twice at the start of our move to Edinburgh from Australia.
The owner, Jarvid, was very friendly and helpful and went over and above to assist us during our stay.
Located a short bus ride out from the city but close to restaurants and shops made Thrums feel a bit more homely than some of the other accommodation we stayed at in Edinburgh.
Thrums has good wifi, an excellent breakfast area and is reasonably priced. If you're lucky, you might even see a few squirrels roaming around the garden!
We will be recommending Thrums to family members coming to visit us in the future.
Ok place to stay
Simple, clean and cheap
Nice place
Really nice
I loved this hotel, it was old but very nice, with spectacular views. The rooms were very spacious and the beds very comfortable. There was an electric kettle, coffee, tea and milk. And the receptionist was very friendly. I would definitely return to this hotel!
The Thrums Edinburgh.
A separate two-story building.
There is no receptionist 24/7, check-in is by prior reservation.
Breakfast is paid separately.
No elevator. The stairs are very wide, large hall.
The room is spacious with a high ceiling. The room for three has a large double bed and a full single bed. TV, electric fireplace, kettle, coffee, tea in assortment. There are enough electrical outlets.
There is no kitchen area in the room.
The bathroom is also very spacious with a large shower. Hairdryer, towels...... accessories all this is there.
The historical center is 1.5-2 kilometers on foot. There is a bus stop opposite the hotel.
Parking is located on the hotel grounds, free of charge. The entrance to the parking lot is from a one-way side street and you need to enter this side street from a parallel street, a bit confusing. The parking lot itself is located in the hotel courtyard. It is large and has no height restrictions.
(Translated) Clean environment, simple equipment in the room, but the price is relatively low

環境乾淨 房內設備簡易 但價位相對也低
Very reasonable pricing. Perfect location and has real parking. Room was fine, but definitely needs a deep clean. Housekeeping was hit or miss depending on the day. Great if you want a quick walk into downtown.
Nice bed and breakfast, simple but well-kept rooms, good cleanliness, friendly and very helpful staff. We paid £65 for a double room but breakfast is included. I recommend going for breakfast in one of the bars along the main road.
Convenient to Edinburgh city center and many bars and pubs.
Nice room, comfortable enough to visit Edinburgh, friendly staff and not too expensive but for a real breakfast there is a surcharge
Very comfortable and excellent service.
We didn't like breakfast
Beautiful hotel set in a Victorian villa. Strategic location for visiting Edinburgh, the hotel is excellently served by the bus network. Many clubs and pubs nearby. For sports enthusiasts, the Royal Mile is less than half an hour's walk away. The bathroom is a bit small, but clean. Nice room with fireplace and small living room.
Typical and quiet room. We were on the garden side. City center is a 15-minute walk away.
Welcoming, simple but clean. The strategic position allows you to reach the center easily by public transport but at the same time the area is quiet
The room is nice, spacious, friendly staff. They didn't figure out the water supply, either boiling water or ice cold water flows from the shower
Quite OK. Clean and well-equipped, ideal if you're spending the whole day exploring the city and don't plan on having breakfast there the next morning anyway. Check-in and check-out are easy, and there's parking in the courtyard behind the building... Another highlight is the convenient connection to various bus lines via Minto Street, which allows for easy access to and from the city center. The bus stop is practically on the doorstep.
Cleaning ok, breakfast ok, staff ok
Super friendly, family atmosphere. Breakfast typically English
Very nice room, sadly was only staying for the night so we didn't get the chance to really enjoy it. Friendly staff, left satisfied.
Cute and welcoming
(Translated) small but nice......

klein aber fein......
Brilliant!!!
It's perfect
Very helpful front desk staff. Quaint and quiet rooms with an old time flair, yet modern enough to be comfortable. The room really added to the ambiance of the entire city. Really fair pricing.
Really nice bed and breakfast located in a quiet area just out of the city centre.
The room was big and clean and definitely comfy for 2 people.
Lots of restaurants and coffee shops on the way to the centre (15/20 minutes walk).
I really enjoyed my stay here. The hotel is about 20 minutes walking from the center of town and is easy accessible from the street. The building is tidy and we'll maintained, both inside and out. The rooms are clean and fubctional. The car park is conveniently located at the back of the hotel and is accessible from both biuldings. The service is warm and welcoming.
Nice room with ensuite and walk-through robe. Walking distance from city centre but also easy access to public transport.
Came for new year. Idéal base. Parking on site. Bus stop for city is opposite. Much better than we'd expected. Use as a base though. Don't expect luxury. Would recommend in peak seasons when you need a base and parking.
