A lovely park with an excellent play area for children of all ages - variety of play equipment (climbing net, roundabouts, swings, slides, rock climbing, doughnut swing, monkey bars) plus the stream adds an extra interesting walk. With plenty of bridges in between with lovely small waterfalls.

Nice park, the streams were full due to the amount of rain we had had. A nice old bridge to walk over. Nice to be out in the country but close to the city too. A good cafe with lovely hot chocolate and really yummy cakes and a free toilet. Children's playground also included a children's climbing wall. Lots of people with dogs on leads. Lots of areas to have a picnic when the weather is good.

One of my fave place to be!! Perfect for all the family. Cafe is absolutely lovely, especially the cakes and hot chocolate. Options for everyone available. Very muddy at certain times if year.

A good sized park and not too busy, my only problem is that a large section of grass has been left to overgrow. This is one of the flatter parts and is usually great for Acro.

I love to walk in this park with my grandsons who live in the area. Watching it change through the seasons gives me a lot of pleasure. I love seeing the beck shift from higher to lower water levels, sometimes calm, sometimes rushing by. This is a beautiful place to enjoy the woods or the ducks, watch the trees bloom in the spring, and occasionally have a delicious little snack from the cafe.

What a beautiful park that makes you feel like you're far away from the city. They have a nice cafe open 7 days a week, serving drinks, snacks, lunches and pastry. It's pet friendly as well so you can bring your doggos for a walk. Even saw a couple of horses! The meanwood valley trail passes through so a great stop while on your walk or even the start of the trail. Can't wait to go back again soon.

A lovely place to visit both The Park and The Hollies. A large estate of woodlands to explore, with a pretty little stream through its centre. Basketball courts, tennis courts, open grass areas and long walks all available for free. Lots of parking available nearby. Well worth a visit.

I don't even know where to start with this place. During the lockdown, it's one of those places that has been keeping me safe. The park is clean, and well looked after. I love the old bridge. The cafe is only getting better, but has been too busy even during lockdowns.

Its a very nice place to visit. Its got a lovely route to go on and lots of wildife around you. There's a lovely little cafe at which you can get drinks, lunch, cakes and ice cream. They have toilets and seating inside and outside. Its a very nice place to visit.

Impressed with park facilities for the children and cleanliness. We walked through the woods to get to the park and were pleased with cleanliness and lack of litter in there. Fantastic part of Leeds and must be visited by everyone who is in the area. So much appreciated by past generations and will certainly be treasured by future generations. love Meanwood park in all seasons, it's perfect for family days out, dog walking, picnics, jogging, bike rides or just somewhere to relax. A huge variation of different areas are hidden into this park, with rivers and streams and a deeper wooded area called the Hollies accessible from here (which has tennis courts free to play). Mystical wooded areas to chill out in.

Well maintained grounds. Little litter if any. Lovely cafe to enjoy tea and cakes or a soft drink. Lovely walk via the meanwood valley trail through the woods opening out into the park. Slides and swings also present for the children to enjoy. Clean, friendly and safe.

Lovely park. I grew up in a house backing on to the park and never get tired of going here. Went for a nice 2 hour walk with my new puppy today and went deep into the woods. Brought back some lovely memories from my childhood of exploring the woods. Highly recommend going here and theres also a cafe there now. Just wish there was more parking.

There's big open, alit of woodland paths. It was boggy but that's expected at this of year. I went with my dog. Lots of other friendly dogs running around. The cafe is really nice. A bit on the expensive side but the quality was brilliant. The sausage rolls are absolutely massive.

Great park! Perfect for families or anyone looking for a nice walk. Has everything you need; picnic benches and a cafe, playground, grassy area, wooded hilly walk, stream with some ducks and if you go further it connects to the Hollies for a nice walk along the water. I love getting an ice cream or drink here and just sitting watching the stream. Been told by my friend its great fir dogs as well, with the grass area good for running and ball throwing and water for paddles!

Gorgeous and huge, connected to the Hollies (I don't know if it counts as the same place). Has a play area which is usually busy on sunny days and an interesting (very slanted) small football pitch. Has a river running through it and there are always dogs playing in this park. There is also a café and a basketball court. There is a road that runs through the middle of it, but it is only to connect some houses to meanwood village, and so there's rarely cars on it so it doesn't ruin the atmosphere.

Nice walks and lovely quite space to get away from the city. Bet it's beautifull in the summer. Visited on the 9th of January 2022. Only downfall Is that the public toilets were closed and this really needs addressing as some people have health issues were they need public toilets (Is it legal to sell drinks at a near by cafe and not provide toilet facilties).

A beautiful park close to Headingley and Meanwood. Perfect for a pleasant walk, running and even a picnic. Can be slightly muddy so better put on hiking boots. Try some of the trails in the woods, special scenery guaranteed.

Visited the park yesterday to take our puppy to see Santa Paws, a charitable event that was amazing! We then had a walk around the park and our puppy had a quick splash in the water before we had to go home and literally bath everyone!!!

This is such a beautiful park. I lived here in leeds for yeara and had no idea just what a special place it is. I park at the cottage road carpark LS64EL and grab a coffee and cake Its great for a 30 minute leg stretch or you can spend a day exploring and doing a circuit

I go here for a run and to keep my dog happy daily. It's great for everyone: families with kids, dogs, joggers or people who just want to take a nice walk. I personally love it. The dogs can drink water from the creek or cool down. It's super easily accessible and you can also extend your walk to The Hollies. It has a rocky patch that is wonderful for exercise.

This is a great park for a family trip out. Nice little playground, but also has a river and extensive woodland for exploring and playing. Nice cafe too and usually an ice cream van! Park on the street and walk a couple of mins to the park at busy times to avoid getting trapped in the car park!

Delightful and unspoilt piece of heaven just north of Leeds city centre. I've been visiting this park since I was a child back in the late 1950s, it has changed very little in that time. Great for walking the dog or just a pleasant stroll along the stream. Very tranquil and natural looking. You really feel miles away from it all here. R Gill

It's a lovely well maintained Park. Has free parking but only approx 50 places. Hence the 4 star. It has good walking, woods stream and children's playground. Now there is also a cafe by the parking lot. Great for dog walking and I would recommend a visit.

Quite a nice park with a small beck running through it. There's a play area for children, a really pricey cafe and an ice cream truck. I've only given 3 stars as if you're not keen on dogs then you're not going to like it. I counted around 100 there today, with most not on leashes.

I've been going to meanwood park for RT years and always loved it. There are some great woodland walks up into the rhododendron slopes, and some hidden gardens at the top, plus in the main park café and lots of swings, play park. Great for dog walking. Lots of local history!

My kids love going here, there is a free onsite parking, a cafe which is based in the car park, a picnic bench eating area, you can have a lovely walk around the river which bring you to the play park with plenty of things to play on for the children, inside and outside the park. Outside the play park there's a big green open field with goal post so you can have a game of football or any game you like to play. I visit here on a regular basis to stretch my kids legs.

It was quiet when we visited mid-week, there were a couple of school trips but still plenty of space. Disappointed with the number of animals, very few. Lovely cafe with seating indoors and out. Little playground close to Meanwood beck. It's nice to hear the water, occasionally, while in that area. Plants grown on site are available to buy and it's great to see that there's an area where bicycles are refurbished and sold on. They certainly are worth a look of in the market for a bike! It's dog friendly and bowls of water are left out for them in the cafe area. What does really infuriate me is when dog owners take their pets out with them to places such as this, where dogs are allowed, and then don't clean up after the dog!!💩🤬😤 Please dog owners (I am one myself) don't spoil this lovely place in the city. I think there's ongoing plans for the whole site since lockdown has been lifted. We'll certainly be returning.

A beautiful park! There's a great open field which is perfect for picnics and ball games and a nice circular walk encompassing woodland and water. There is a lovely stream running through the park as well as a pond and there is a great little cafe which serves food and coffee and also has loos.

It’s and amazing place to go with the entire family! You can access the park and the walk way that takes you around an experience of a lifetime. You can sit down for a picnic on any patch of grass while your children have an amazing time on the park! In the park there is a slide, 4 swings, 2 baby swings and 2 swings for older children and an obstacle course that will entertain your child for hours on end! There is also a cafe for you to treat the family with a hot chocolate and possibly a slice of cake.

Nice local park to enjoy the green grass and nature in the heart of Meanwood. It's amazing to find such a large patch of oxygen producing natural mini forest. Great for the local community to go for a job or a quite walk. It's always nice to hear birds singing and here I heard lots of happy cheerful birds singing there songs, it was a wonderful experience.

This is a fantastic park and I can see why Tolkien used it as inspiration for his LOTR books - take a look into the forrest and you will see why and you may even wander yourself into the myrtle pub! If you're not up for that, it's a great picnic and dog spotting area all year round!

A lovely little park for dog walkers or if you're just looking for a small walk yourself. You can walk through the green fields, or the woods, up to the holly's and even enjoy a play on the playground if you fancy. There's a nice little walk up to the Myrtle pub through the woods - always guaranteeing you a nice beverage or bite to eat.

Sadly Meanwood Park cafe has closed at the time of writing, it was great for kids and did good food. The park can get a bit muddy at this time of year and there aren't lots of concrete paths so be prepared to get mucky! However, there is a great kids playground, a duck pond and wonderful walks including into the forest where there are areas for kids or dogs to explore.

There are lots of walks that you can do from meanwood park including the valley trail going from woodhouse to Adel woods. It's a perfect dog walking park and the cafe is great (there are plenty of good pubs close to the park too). There is only a small car park but you can easily park in meanwood and walk down.

I've been coming here since I was a boy and now me and my partner bring our own two year old son. I actually miss this place if I don't make a point of trying to come here at least once a year during summer. I think the only thing really letting it down is the amount of rude dog walkers who let their dogs run right up to you while you are trying to have a picnic. We don't all like your dogs people! I wish they would either keep their dogs on their lead or stay at home.

A beautiful park just outside Leeds City centre. There's an enclosed playground area for children, tennis courts and a bowling green. The park is surrounded by extensive woodland and open green areas with a beck running through. The Meanwood valleye trail runs through here too.

Its a bit hard to be critical of this park as it has almost everything that you could need in a park. There is plenty of space for playing games and throwing sticks. There is a decent adventure playground with the obligatory ice cream van. You can walk from here all the way up to Golden acre or further if you want to, and the walk is decently interesting. You can also walk back almost to the city centre if you choose to. There is also the beck with a variety of ponds crossings and stepping stone. Its easy to find and there is ample parking and plenty of access points. Finally there is a decent enough cafe, or further eating options 5 minutes walk away in meanwood.
