Reviews of Middleton Park
C. B.
Great Park for all the family and dogs. Small fishing pond, cafe and woods to walk around. Children's play area has just been updated. Definitely worth a visit. You can walk through woods to get yo Middleton light railway too 🚉.
B. D.
I had lived many years in Leeds without coming here before, now I know I will keep coming back.
It's a very large park, I have manged two different 2 mile walks here now. You can walk for sometime without seeing another person when walking on the outer edges, but it is just as enjoyable walking along the well maintained paths. It is surprisingly hilly, but nothing that cannot be coped with if you are able to walk confidently.
It's great for jogging, dog-walking and stretching your legs and getting fresh air.
There is a Visitors Centre next to a central pond with swans, which I highly recommend going to. People there are very friendly, and the food prices are very cheap for very good quality food.
There is a central car park, which on a Tuesday afternoon in March had lots of spaces, I cannot vouch for peak times. There is legal parking in the streets, too.
We saw a large group of older people walkers and a several people who use wheelchairs, so on this basis I presume disabled access is very good.
There is a toilet at the Visitors Centre, but do check the closing times, as it has been quite early on my visits in March.
There are beautiful views and it is amazing to think how close to the city centre you are here, as you quickly forget that you are. There is lots of trees, and a valley to explore. Middleton Railway is accessible here, too. I look forward to coming back to see it fully in bloom.

lovely park. really clean and tonnes to see. great for dogs and dog walks - big enough that you don't bump into too many people, particularly in the woods. cool signs about coal mining in the area. free parking and a cafe too
L. M.
Lovely park with plenty of woodland, lots to explore and see.
Or even for those who enjoy a peaceful walk, very relaxing and therapeutic walk.
There's a little swing on one of the trees in the woods which is good fun for the little ones.
Nice little lake and park for the children.
However, the ice-cream van is pretty expensive though but aren't most ice-cream vans that are based parks these days? Its a little frustrating for those who have bigger families. But of course, this isn't a major issue.

Nice Park with plenty of things for kids to do, all off the equipment is in good condition so safe for kids. Lovely pond to walk round too & feed the duck's on the way to the cafe that's near the pond. Cafe is reasonably priced & nice & clean on warm days you can sit outside which is nice with pond in front of you. There is table tennis tables at the back of the cafe/visitors centre & further up the road/path there is tennis & I think a football court there is also a large grass area for ball games/picnics & lots of walking routes through the woods for people visiting with there dog's or on there bike's.

Middleton Park is a beautiful park. Has a lovely little cafe with friendly staff. There's tennis courts, basketball courts, badminton courts, bowling green and plenty of space to play football. There is also bike track and another cafe up at the bike track. There's a good sized pond that has ducks, couts, swans and other birds living on it. Also a good sized children's play park too 🌟
R. C.
Middleton park is fantastic, walks around the woods are always stunning throughout the seasons. The cafe is great value, toilets on site, parking available. There is a free bike park onsite which has tracks and a cafe.
R. M.
Wonderful walks through ancient woodland. Good for the body and the mind.
J. M.
Absolutely amazing place. Only came across this when hubby started bike riding with group of friends so one day took a trip with my grandson. This park is huge and just spectacular. The bike trials for everyone is amazing and you literally cannot walk around it in a few hours. Great parking free of charge and lovely cafe middle of the road prices but if the west is good bring a picnic. I hidden gem if wanting somewhere to let’s kids run of steam this is the place.
i. M.
Great day out for all the family. Fantastic bike park for all ages and abilities. Railway rides and great walks, play areas, supported by two cafe's
L. S.
We really enjoyed it here! Clean, not too busy apart from park but we didn't mind. Nice clean toilets that are currently open, staff are doing best they can with the cafe under the circumstances. We spent 4 hours here and could of done more!
I. B.
Lovely place for a bike ride or a walk, kids play park. Theres also woodland walks and a cafe.
For the serious mountain bikers there are trails there through the woods and jumps. (LEEDS URBAN BIKE PARK).
R. F.
Leeds Urban Bike Park is an amazing place. Free to use and park, good cafe, links into Middleton Park for a nice walk as well. Courses for all levels of experience. Gets very busy, arrive early. The dog liked the puppycino as well!
B. M.
A lovely park for a walk or cycle round but with some extra features for kids and bikers. There are two car parks that I know of (These do get full quick). There is one car park near the visitors centre that serves hot/cold drinks and light snacks including the old faithful, a bacon butty. There are also toilets here and info on the park. Next to this is the fishing lake where you'll hopefully find ducks/swans to feed and I have seen a guy fishing so guess there are fish in there. Up from the pond is a kids play area. The other car park is near the Leeds urban bike park. This looks a fantastic place to take your bike (I will be getting one after seeing this place). With trails and tracks from beginners upwards. There is also a bike shop here that does bike hiring and repairs/services, and a cafe to.
Back to the park and there are lots of different paths to take between the woodland, some are paved others are more mud paths (walking shoes/boots recommended) but all are nice to walk around, listening to the birds and enjoying some fresh air.
You can also walk to the miniature railway from either of the carparks but unfortunately it's not running at the moment.
Have also found out that the John Charles sports centre is another recommended car park if the others are full.

I grew up around here but never get tired of walking around these woods, and with all the effort the local community have put into the park and woods it's a great place to take the family. Friendly, well kept with some lovely walks and good facilities. Not to mention the awesome bike park if you're into cycling.
M. C.
Fabulous open space to walk the dog. Even off lead as there were no prissy people, everyone were dog walkers. All picking up the poo, as there are plenty of appropriate bins.
S. S.
Great place to spend an afternoon. Very large park for dogs and people. A mixture of rustic and traditional park
K. I.
Fantastic park. Think do more with pop and rock concerts. Rather than go to North of the river.
D. w.
Various routes in the woods. Not very well signposted. And mixes in with the bike park. Nice cafe when it's open, friendly staff. And small lake/playground. Tennis and football courts and a limited car park.
M. H.
Great park, well maintained, just waiting for the great blue bell display. Middleton is very lucky to have a park like this.

Beautiful park. Very close to John Charles leasure centre.
Kept very clean and has a amazing history of being a coal mine
A. T.
Vast open space with forest area and river. There is plenty to do for everyone, walk your dog, ride your bike, walk or even fish in the pond. There is also playground for children and even enclosed area for tenis or ball play. Plenty of paved paths as well. One of the paths leads to the Rose garden where you can sit and enjoy the beautiful flowers. At the visitors centre there are coffee shop and toilets however they are now closed due to COBID19 restrictions.
v.
A wonderful park, that is improving year by year. From a gentle stroll with the dog, to an action packed morning mountain biking. Middleton park has something for everyone. Two cafes, one by the lake, and a more recent addition at the mountain bike pump tracks. Favourite time of year to visit has to be when the blue bells make an appearance. There are also many events arranged through out the year.
A. G.
A gem in South Leeds. The cafe is small and has a limited menu but serves bacon butties and other tasty snacks, it's run by very friendly volunteers. The surrounding woodlands are very scenic and the attached Leeds Urban bike park is great fun. You can cycle and walk for a few miles around the woods.
T. A.
A very good park in South Leeds after Roundhay park. It has a pond, nature trails, Middleton railway stops here, vast history as it used to have stately home which had a rare 'ice box' (modern day fridge), coal available in abundance lying around with remnance of mining as it had a quarry here as well, FOMP (Friends of Mid park) operate here as well and do blueberry walks, they have a cafe here which is reasonably priced as well and which is where youll find toilets which are reasonably clean as well. All in all a good all round park. You do get the odd idiots now and then coming through - probably down to where the park is. Also a cycle park is here for the avid cyclists.
T. B.
Park Run is organised by a freindly and welcoming group Well worth a visit
T. M.
Great place for walk, run, picnic, chillout, cycling, massive park.

Excellent place for family days out, every thing for all, there is a well maintained children's park, a medium sized fishing pond, cafe, play Area with games, large wooded area with public footpaths throughout and nature trails branching off. It also links up with a private golf course and local bike courses that cater from beginners to pro's. Nice place to have a picnic and relax with family there is also events taking place at the cafe most weekends, and a Facebook page dedicated to bringing you all the latest news, called friends of middleton Park.

Cafe and shop on site plus ice cream va
G. O.
One of my favourite places to go! My grandad used to take me down to see the dragonflies on the lake when I was a kid!
G. C.
It would be much more pleasant if people would clean up after their dogs.
C. B.
Beautiful public park celebrating the industrial mining heritage of Middleton whilst providing a pleasant area to walk or spend time with families. Has a cafe, seating, free parking , small lake and plenty of woodland to walk.
j.
Leeds Urban Bike Park is absolutely amazing! Totally free to ride all day, cafe food and drink prices reasonable, trails are amazing especially the Red Trail in the woods, great fun! Well worth a visit and your time!
v. w.
Never knew this place existed even though I have lived fairly close for years. Plenty of walkways through the woods. Great little cafe and reasonably priced ice creams. A good play area for the younger children. And it's free so go have a visit it's a nice place
J. W.
We truly delighted in it here! Perfect, not very occupied separated from park however we wouldn't fret. Decent spotless latrines that are as of now open, staff are doing best they can with the bistro considering the present situation. We went through 4 hours here and could of accomplished more!
J. W.
So much to see great views, nice cafe and lake. Brilliant cycle trials
F. B.
Swoy was shredding on his chorey machean fastest he's ever been with the 50 chasing him
Z. D.
Middleton park is good! It’s in a dodgy area but it’s good for bike rides and the playground! The prices in the shop aren’t expensive!
N. H.
I just like walking around the park and seeing this ones and seeing the cygnets and the ducklings because it's really nice it's really refreshing.
K. M.
It was the first time I had visited the park although I do live in Leeds and was pleasantly surprised. The lake was nice and the woodland was inviting. I think the rose garden could do with a bit of attention and as well as squirrels I saw a massive rat.
I. S.
Huge park with plenty of amenities. Cafe, toilets, kids play area, tennis courts, 18 hole golf course.
m. m.
Middleton Park has become a nice place again, I lived there in the old cottages as a child. My Dad was the park keeper. The cottages are no longer there. Nice for walks and the cycle tracks are brilliant, making the park popular for visitors from other cities.
S. O.
Really nice place very busy because of bank holiday weekend but very nice. Better than expected
o. a.
Wonderful walk and also nice when weather is good
D. V.
Been here twice now. Novice XC rider and I love this place. It's great. Cafe, bike shop, great tracks... I can see myself spending much more time here this summer!!

Absolutely fantastic for the kids. Has a lil cafe with the basics (food, ice cream and drink) and had a playground that'll keep anyone occupied

The recent improvements to the play area are excellent and the large open areas are great for dog walking and free play.

Leeds Urban Bike Park is superb. Well done and thank you to all of those involved making this place possible. (48 year old BMX rider reborn, again)
E. K. K.
They have nice dresses 👗 and the staff are very good 👍
A. S.
Love walking around the park and woods then treat myself to a hot chocolate and cake love the duck on the pond dogs love it too
L. F.
Middleton Park is fantastic.
There are many entrances to the park, the main one being on Town Street, the other lesser known are near John Charles swimming centre and from Gipsy Lane (past Cockburn High). So you can plan many different journeys around the park.
There is lots of history in the park if you know where to look for it and finding the signposts is part of the fun.
There is a cafe next to the lake which offers great snacks and beverages and there is a sizable play are for children there too.
I enjoy the park for exercising and has been a great source of escapism for me over the years.
Enjoy!

This is the second time we have visited this week . What a lovely park.
J. D.
A great place to have a good walk. Also a good cycling trail for young and old. Good route for mountain biking, lots of fun looked to be had. Nice cafe near the car park, with toilets, nice pond and also children's play area.

Middleton park is a very nice place to walk round there is also a cafe there where you can get a hot or cold drink even a snack to eat, there is also a pond there with swans, ducks and water hens even fish in the pond.they have a bike park there for cyclists to ride round, they even have tennis courts there and it use to be a golf course there years ago but no longer in use now as it's all grown over but you can still see were it use to be .
C. E.
Beautiful autumn colours on the trees, not as boggy as our local field.
E. L.
Absolutely love this place. Especially when it on your doorstep. Its beautiful place to walk, run and take family. You can even get hot food and drink from the park cafe and the urban bike cafe which is great especially with the weather being a tad colder. The park keepers have been out quite regularly keeping all the pathways clear for everyone and making sure everything is safe for the public
H.
Love this park it's great for dog walking, taking kids out or just for a general walk or run if you like to run. It's a simple loop round for people who are unfamiliar with the park but for the locals it's usually the place to go.
R. C.
Its a lovely place grew up visiting this plave as a kid and have seen it at its worst but have to say recent works around the park have made for a real pleasant experience.
The woodland itself and surrounding parklands are well managed and it has become a gantastic wildlife spotting haven. Woth lovely walks its a great old woodland to visit
G. M.
Perfect family day aut. Playground,activity,walk...picnic time :)
F. P.
Nice and peaceful. A lot of bike riders on one side but they are very respectful of pedestrians. The little lake is just lovely. Kids will enjoy the playground too.
B. M.
Beautiful wooded area and a variety of lovely family and dog friendly walks. Leeds Urban Bike Park also on site to provide take out hot and cold food and beverages. Excellent
N. R.
The walk through the woods is lovely. The cycle trail gets a bit in the way of walkers. It is a lovely park. Some bits could be better maintained eg the rose garden
M. A.
Used to have a bad reputation but the council and local residents have done loads to make it a nice friendly place to go and an enjoyable place to be. There's play areas, a fishing pond, lovely gardens and There's acres and acres of woodland and fields with plenty of different pathways to walk the dog and its a really enjoyable place to spend a couple of hours...
H. D.
Great day out for any bicycle enthusiast
J. R.
A lovely mixture of extensive woodland walks with graded bmx tracks, more formal park planting, a playground & a small fishing lake. There's also a cafe offering a small but great value range of snacks. Throughout the park are explanatory plaques detailing the area's mining industry. At the lower end of the park is a halt for the historic Middleton Railway.
R. T.
Large park in south Leeds especially since golf course added. Woodland, open spaces, weekend café, steam railway. Good mountain biking.
A. I.
Great place on bonfire night, the firework display is always impressive every year. Nice to see long-time friendly locals and have a good natter whilst enjoying an hotdog.
K.
Big spacious place and a nice wood there too full of wonderful trees. There is also a lake and cafe. Great place for walking and picnics too!
A. J.
Free entry and parking good trails and plenty of jumps good for all ages and cafe on site
C. M.
Nice place to have a little walk.
R. B.
Lovely park, not so sure about the coffee
S. G.
Fantastic Park - lots of lovely trees, well maintained grass and footpaths. A cute little cafe next to the lake. The downside is there are a bunch of idiots riding in quadbikes and motorbikes.
B. B.
650 acres of park and woodland conjoined with Leeds Urban Bike Park, brilliant for dog walking, taking kids to the swung park which was refurbished/extended in last 12 months. Cafe in the park(no dogs allowed inside ) plus bike park has a great cafe where dogs can go inside to a specific area. Park is kept tidy with full time park manager and staff
G. A.
First time I've participated in a park run other than Nostell.....everyone was very welcoming, smiling and supportive, especially the Tail Walker today, 31st July. Big thank you to you all.
G. F.
First time here attending a parkrun but was very quickly impressed by the setup here. Lots of trails for bikes at different levels. We even saw a couple of kids on bikes without pedals using a small area with undulations and bumps - Excellent!! Great to see. The cafe is very good, lots of choice at a reasonable price, efficient service. As we were leaving there were lots of bikes arriving to use the facilities.
M. C.
Lovely park for the kids and a walk
L. B.
Great well kept open space. Woods and fields. Cafe and toilets. Newly renovated children's play area. Great for bikes too.
k. m.
Huge attractive park. More people should visit.
M. l.
What a beautiful gem! Right next to the FREE urban bike park. Take a dare devil ride round the different bike courses then saunter round the gardens. Gorgeous. There's a visitor centre, food and toilets👍❤️
s. p.
I love walking through the woods any time of year. There is a cafe open on a weekend for a drink and toilet stop.
My only complaint is I would like the children's play area to be bigger.
J. C.
This park has greatly improved over the last 2 years. There are multiple bike trails now with downhill jump sections for serious riders. Good cafes and large areas of woodland. They've closed down the golf course which has increased the parks area for everyday people so plenty of picnic area to be had.
Z. A.
Nice family place with lots of space to roam around. Good children area too.
E. B.
Massive and good for dogs amd kids with the park.
S. C.
Good park to practice your jumping skills on, there are no technical trails here it is all pump tracks and jumps. Great for riders of all abilities including kids, and there are lots of families there every weekend.
The parking place gets filled up quickly so getting there early is key.
The cafe is nice and has friendly staff, prices are a little high but overall the coffee is of decent quality.
All the park and parking is free so it is great for a free to ride park.
L. 6.
Absolute lovely park. Great for family's. Definitely recommend!!
M. W.
Was brought up in Middleton and took my daughter when she was young today I took my grand daughter we had a lovely morning there car park only small but managed to find a space good playground and cafe well organised dispite covid. Brought back lots of memories from my childhood. We will be back. Lovely park .
K. D.
New play park is excellent! Park is always lovely and clean and the cafe is nice and friendly.
R. E.
Good bonfire and fireworks display, but wasn't impressed with the 30min queue for food (or the price of it when we got there!)
M. N. 1.
Lovely park to walk the dogs with different paths to go on. The rose garden is beautiful especially in the summer and it looks very well kept. There's also a bike park with many different paths throughout the park.
There are toilets at the visitor centre and a playground close by.
A. W.
Great fun trails are good my 8 year old loves it
M.
The 🚲 bike park rocks! As a family we love it, hours go by so quickly. On site cafe adhering to Covid guidelines and super friendly staff. The guy at the bke shop goes out of his way to offer advise too!
W. C.
Hats off to the volunteers keeping for keeping the visitors centre going even on a socially distanced basis. Grateful there was a toilet, so happy to get coffee and cake. Set us up for a walk round the patk itself. Thanks!
A. G.
A great place to walk, if you don't want to cycle in the Urban Bike Park. We walked down the hill from the bike park and stopped off at the café in the Visitors Centre. The tea and roasted sandwiches were really tasty. We then walked back up the hill, over the old golf course paths. This is such a nice park to have this close to the city centre.
D. T.
Great day out . Good variety of skill challenges for mountain bike and BMX riders . Cafe was great service .
M. L.
First time we have ever been and with it being my 72nd birthday we wanted to go where it wasn't too busy as I've been shielding, went with my daughter and two grandsons. Just a nice walk and a coffee which we got. Thank you 😊☕
L. C.
Great park in South Leeds with lots of paths and tracks for walking, mountain bike trails, a visitor centre with cafe, a small lake, a train, children's play area and lots of parking. Well worth a visit.
M. B.
Quality bike and family walk location with plenty to do for those biking enthusiasts personally loved the day out free parking and hurts like hell when you fall off the bike! 👌 definitely give this place a try if you haven't been excellent =)
l. a.
Free parking and easy to get to. Has a good sized cafe with outdoor seating area next to the water area (unsure if its cash only or just that their card machine wasnt working). Children's play area is small but well kept. Good place for a family walk or to kick a ball around.
G. P.
Well worth going.
Something for all the family including your dogs.
Four different trails to follow, play area for the little peeps, small lake, tennis courts, basketball court, cycling area for bike enthusiasts.
When you've walked, run, played, discovered things in the trails you can relax in the reasonably priced cafe.
One of Leeds best kept secrets for you to discover
s. p.
Lovely though sparce old woodland with lake and play areas. Nice place to visit with the kids or walk your dog. Facilities are right next to the lake but nowhere else so be prepared if your heading into the woods- they are bigger than they seem.
R. w.
Such a good park. There's a small cafe for summer days and a long path to walk around which takes around 30 to 40minutes, aswell as a lake and kids play area. Other than that there's loads and loads of woodlands and fields to walk the dogs which is great to get away from the public as my dog is not good around strangers.

Brilliant bike park. Only complaint is having to justify to the wife the 6 hour round trip 🤣
S. H.
To be more precise, Leeds Urban Bike Park. Amazing place great fun. All riders are friendly and always up for a chat.
The cafe and its staff are amazing! They offer a great range of food (gluten free options too!) and a friendly atmosphere! Thank you folks!!🤗🤗🤗
M. P.
Great place for a peaceful walk on a sunny day you can choose a short or long walk, quite a lot of varied wildlife on view
G. S.
A little small but good day out
C. F.
The woods are huge, the kids park is big enough. I'm not sure what else you could want.
Oh and the bike park is impressive.
j. z.
Nice ride to MP. Cycle cafe for a pit stop highly recommended.
A. M.
Great wood I have only explored a quarter of it and I think it amazing. I know they have events on and I really should look out for them although probably suspended at the moment. I hope the council carrys on building on the work it has done in the last few years and continues to turn this into a great resource for south leeds.
R. D.
Plenty of variety with different skill tracks in this park. Spread out really good. From total novice (young kids)to good skill levels, it's got it all. Will certainly be visiting regular this year dispite my hour+ drive.
B. k. r. P.
Love it,great place lots of walks
A. H.
Lovely park well kept but not excessive. Great place for a stroll things to do young and old. Some entertainment organised by the friends who run the cafe. Popular and well worth a visit. Easy to get to by bus and parking in and around the park.
m. m.
Always been a beautiful park , better than Roundway by miles.
P. F.
Very large park with lots of woodland and open parkland, ideal for dog walking or just been out and about in nature, also childrens playground ,small lake by the visitors centre and carpark,a very large area to explore.
L. W.
Free to park free to ride and this bike park really is quality and there's something for anyone any age any ability.. the red route through the woods is my favourite as I love to ride single track.. just help the park by buying something from the café which is really good..
S.
Fantastic and clean and chilled friendly
B. W.
Look at Friends of Middleton Park for details. Vehicle access downhill with severe speed humps to excellent visitors centre with wheelchair accessible cafe and toilets. Events in summer period. Access free and mobility scooter for on site hire. The park is huge and has lots of history.
T. M.
We took the dog for a walk around. Sometime up and sometimes down. And then when we were homeward bound, we all agreed it was a pretty super park all things considered.
M.
Nice park, good for walking a jogging. There are both wooded and grassed areas as well as a lake that can be fished in. There is a nice cafe as well, run by very friendly staff with reasonable prices. There are also lots of events put on in the park. Look out for the "Shakespeare in the park", usually in July, as well as the bonfire in November.
P. D.
First visit, lovely park, good paths. Apparently converted from golf course. Nice cafe, bike hire
A. F.
Love this park - can spend a good 3 hours exploring
A. C.
Lovely place to visit! Nice walkways and lovely open spaces if you are taking the dogs for a walk. Can also take the kids for a walk to see the squirrels, ducks and fish/frogs in the ponds. Little cafe next to the kids play area too, and the woods are pathed for push chairs.
T. W.
An Aladins cave of a park. Spent two hours winding around the woodland paths and only scratched the surface of what's to offer!
J. P.
Very nice park, loads of open space, lake and cafe a bonus and free car park. Lovely walk through the woods. Very clean and well maintained.
M. F.
Very nice and well maintained public park
P. G.
Middleton Park in South Leeds is a large park but has plenty to offer all, very family orientated with a new play area for kids. There is a cafe at park and a cafe at urban bike area. Lots of green areas for walking dogs and walking in groups.
Plus it has the Urban Bike Park, the entrance to this is just off Middleton ring road. separate from main park but is paths do lead to it. Very busy during holidays and at weekends. We'll worth a visit.
P. J.
There is a little Cafe where you can get some Coffee and something to eat. It's a good place to come for walk, but as it's always busy you can struggle to find parking.
M. B.
Enjoyed a lovely walk yesterday through the wooded area. All sorts of different trials you can do and great for mountain biking. Cafe was friendly although they didn't have take away cups with them the day we visited which was disappointing. Quite a drive from where I live but worth the trip for the variety and length of walks you can go on
D. W.
I love visiting Middleton woods. This summer in particular, when it was really hot it was lovely to walk in the shade...perfect temperature. Throughout the summer there were free, fun activities for children. The playarea is well equipped. There is a very nice cafe, very well priced, and with a view of the pond.
B. S.
Lovely pace for a stroll and nice cheap cafe
R. T.
Very good dog walking park, plenty of open space, woodland & good paths.
W. Y. H.
It's improved tonnes but not sure I'd let my kids go out by themselves if below 15. Sometimes there are groups smoking weed and drinking. Otherwise beautiful park and large grounds. Could make several trips to do different signed paths
K. D.
Nice park but my visit was to the Leeds Urban Bike Park which was fabulous and well worth a visit for those budding mountain bikers. Also there is a very nice cafe on site. Recommended.
M. B.
A unique place and unlike any other park in the area. Good eating at the park Cafe and the urban bike park hub. Easy free parking most days.
M. A.
Love this woodland i wlk my dogs here everyday they love it. there is lovely cafe at the side of the lake where you can fish. The paths are easily navigatable and there is also some lovely off path walks through the woods too. There does seem to be a lot of horse muck on the paths lately which is not pleasant.
A. M.
A huge and relaxing place for spending time in family. Great children and sports areas, a lovely lake and a café to take a snack. And what about it's surroundings? Amazing forests to get lost in an adventure if you like to go running!
A. B.
Despite having lived in Leeds (and particularly the Beeston area) for nearly 59 years, this was my first proper visit to Middleton Park. I think a lot of improvement work has been recently done, and it shows! Nice visitor's centre, various trails illustrating the history of the area and artifacts from its coal-mining past 😀
G. E.
Lovely place for walking dogs, good shaded routes to use in the hot weather. Large parks and fields for dogs to run about in. Area for kids to play with swings and slides etc. Café on site which offers a good selection of refreshments and snacks.
A. Y.
Fantastic Leeds based outdoor biking center. With many tracks for all ages
M. L.
Lovely, quiet park. Woodland walks are excellent.
R. H.
A great park in a terrible part of Leeds. Middleton is the armpit of Yorkshire and you'd expect the same from this park, however, it is unusually vibrant, peaceful, beautiful and accessible. Great for bikes with a newish cycle trail which is brilliantly kept.
M. E.
Good mountain bike trails for all abilities. There are various routes blue, green, red and some black bits. There is a pump track, XC and much more. There is a shop that sells fox products and do bike services. The cafe is good with choice of gates, tea coffee and cold drinks. There is an out side table seating area with parasols. Bikes racks for parking up when you nip into the cafe.
C. S.
Beautiful park with walks through ancient woodland. Cafe, lake and huge open spaces too. The only criticism would be the limited play equipment... not nearly enough range of apparatus for anyone over 8/10 years old.
A. R.
My dogs and I love walking around the park and woods. There is always someone fishing who will chat with you or give you directions if you're lost. Pleasant clean and well maintained gardens. Also an ice-cream truck is usually parked in the carpark on summer days. A great place for kids adults and dogs.
J. H.
Great Park, the dogs love it!
s. l.
Beautiful place, very clean, superb woods with loads of wildlife. Such a shame the cafe and toilets were closed but so was most of the country with lockdown restrictions Overall a very nice day out.
G. H.
My kids loved it !! And it's a free day out ..no entrance fee to pay..the cafe is well stocked and priced..you could stay all day.. take a pick nick and enjoy the various walks as well..we will be going again !!
P. Y.
This place is great for biking and walking. Has a great park and tennis area
S. W.

R. T.
First time I've been all the way round this park and I was very impressed with the place. I never knew there was a visitor centre and cafe in the middle off the park. The park is well maintained and a very welcoming atmosphere by everyone.
A. H.
Lovely park! Great for picnics too feeding swans etc
N. M.
Lovely park with plenty of space to take your dog out for a walk and have it run around. Could do with some picnic tables near the cafe though.
M. L. (.
Lake. Cafe. Children's play area. Gardens. Birds. Various woodland paths - Occasionally horses on them which wouldn't be a problem except they don't clean up after themselves. Also sometimes there is the sound of motorbikes going up and down the deeper paths destroying the tranquility.
There's an abandoned railway platform at the back which is very Stephen King-esque if you fancy a walk along the rails ^^
M. B.
A true treasure to enjoy some nature, with loads of different ways to walk, a little lake, some history about coral mining..
L. D.
Quite nice, clean and tidy, cafe lovely but not a lot of room for families, could do with being twice the size! Prices are great. Pond looked a bit worse for wear last time we were there but still not bad!
R. H.
Middleton park and woods is a gem set on the south side of Leeds. There is the grassed park area with children's play area, the lake with it's assorted wildlife and the visitor centre with a cafe serving very reasonably priced snacks and drinks. This is then coupled with a vast area of ancient woodland containing a large amount of paths and trails to explore.
S. M. 6.
Plenty of space to spread out, nice pond, good play park and can get there using the old railway too and the bike track !
M.
A lovely park in the heart of South Leeds. The woods in particular are beautiful when the bluebells are out - well worth a walk.
C. M.
Some great walks in the woods around the disused tramway. The bike trails look great - I need to return with my bike to enjoy them.
D. B.
Lots of improvements have been made senicly. Excellent place for dog walks, lots of friendly dogs and dog owners. Please respect the bike park as it is not safe to walk on the track.

It's a beautiful Park and has been improved so much in recent years. Playback, cafe, lakes, ancient woodlands. The oldest light railway in the UK possibly the world, archeology, wildlife, events. It's a fantastic place to visit.
R. G.
It is a great place to walk in the 470 acres of beautiful well kept park, with a wonderful little visitors centre for a catch up and cupa. There is a small lake for fishing and a kiddies play area so everyone is catered for.

Great place to bring your bike, kids love it here
W. W.
Lovely grounds and woods to walk around with winding paths, streams and places to get lost! The car park is off the road and close to the lovely simple café, toilets and a fishing pond.
They run a range of community schemes from exercise to nature trails for children and adults. There is a real push to create more resources and activities for people including bonfires and music events so they welcome new ideas and volunteers. Facilities also incorporate people with disabilities offering activities, sports and community opportunities. Keep it up, Middleton! Xx
v. s.
Free parking. Loads of space for dogs and kids to run around. Lovely autumnal colours when we went. Plenty of walking routes..some quite quiet. Would go back...
T. E.
Bike park. Brilliant for riding, perfecting your skills, having a blast. On site cafe, tea and cake. Good tracks, courses what more do you need. Recommend
