Reviews of Victoria Park
J. G.
Beautiful nature! Victoria Park is a fabulous place for walking, running and cycling. You may also exercise or play games on the field. The grass is cut, it's clean and nice. You may see birds and even squirrels there.
P. M. H.
Great place to walk, jog, cycle, exercise and for picnics. The whole area is very well maintained and has proper tracks for cycling and walking.
There are designated places for football, basketball, cricket, skating and open air gym.
S. M.
A great place for some quality family time. Rugby, football, multiple play areas, monuments, lovely old trees, big grassy areas lovely views and in a nice part of Leicester. Haven't been here for years but after taking my boys, nephew and niece there today I'm looking forward to going back again!
L. C.
Beautifully kept, spacious park. Lots of games courts (football, basketball, tennis). No rubbish lying about. Went to enjoy a picnic when visiting my son. Weather was ok (a little blustery) but didn't detract from this stunning open space in the heart of the city. While we tucked into our picnic we watched a group of people (perhaps families or friends?) play a great game of cricket 🏏 Made it even more enjoyable.
Plenty of parking (reasonable rates & only £1 on a bank holiday). The toilet facilities were clean & well stocked.
S. C.
Almost the biggest park in Leicester. 50 shade of green :) great place for sports, walking, having fun, being social
C. H.
I only walked through the park from the car park (clean, good spaces and reasonable prices) to the university.
Winter, but well maintained and probably worth another visit in the summer.
Impressive war memorial.
F. N.
Amazing Park! Urban Inner City, Central Park NY vibe at a very small scale obviously, but lots of flat green space. Great for picnics, walking dogs, playing sports and social gatherings. Very close to pubs and restaurants in the surrounding area. Parking is fair, but it can get very busy on those very sunny English summer days. Overall, enjoyable for everyone including K-9 friends.
P. W.
SHEESH, This place has the best it can offer and i would put it at the top tier of parks. Not only does it have a gym with it but it is an amazing place for jogging/exercise, also it has amazing sunsets and skies ❤. Open wide and cool breezes a place i would definitely recommend!!
V. V. G.
GOOD place to exercise and the tennis Courts are great! Its also very pretty and green to just relax or do a picnic!
J. G.
Lovely park- well maintained. Lots of open space.
Be conscious of non leaded dogs when walking puppies and smaller pooches as not all owners are considerate.
A. S.
Been going here for years! Love this place. From playing football as a youngster to taking my own child there to play. Nice area with great links to food on Queens Road or London Road.
t. f.
Cheap car park and cracking pub close by, stayed over night in Camper while visiting Uni.
͔.
My kids had so much fun playing at the rotunda!
N. C.
Great Park filled with brilliant things to do. Good playgrounds, and sports facilities. Or just the great outdoor to relax in. Bring back the Pavilion.
H. M.
Very good park with public toilets. Accesible parking and access for the disabled. Some gym facilites and a childrens area. Sometimes used by sporting events and matches. Very pleasant overall and generally pretty clean.

Victoria Park is a beautiful place in Leicester which is never overally crowded. From any single point you can see the entire park. It's calm and quiet around noon time. It gets more joyful around evening. You can see different activities-group of people playing games(cricket/baseball/tennis/frisbee/skating), people enjoying picnics, walks and kids playing around. This park has proper walkways and bike riding.
V. P.
Huge park. Lots of different areas. Children's park. Parking available but can be pricey, better off parking on the street close by. Overall nice and clean park.
H. E.
A great park in the heart of the city and next to the University of Leicester campus. It has bicycle and pedestrian lanes separated from each other, so you can enjoy both cycling and running safely. Also has several picnic tables to enjoy having an outdoor lunch. Large areas of green space to enjoy the sun and spend quality time with family and friends. A children's playground is also present.
K. H.
Beautiful large size park. 3 separate park area. Lovely for walks, picnics. Has various events throughout the year.
Has parking, free on Sundays, pay and display rest of week.
Toilet facilities available, also baby changing available.
J. G.
Lovely park- well maintained. Lots of open space.
Be conscious of non leaded dogs when walking puppies and smaller pooches as not all owners are considerate.
D. M.
Nice grounds but the kids play park needs attention. Everything else is great
͔.
My kids had so much fun playing at the rotunda!
a. s.
Good place for morning freshness
S. N.
Big, family friendly open space. Parking available but not cheap. Development work in one corner
A. M.
I love the open space and the beautiful avenue paths. Also incredible at night with the current Ukrainian flag colors showing.
A. L.
Open parkland near the city centre. Not a huge amount to do, but a good spot to get away from the hustle and bustle. Has football pitches and kids play area.
F. M.
The largest in city. Amazing.
H. E.
A great park in the heart of the city and next to the University of Leicester campus. It has bicycle and pedestrian lanes separated from each other, so you can enjoy both cycling and running safely. Also has several picnic tables to enjoy …
A. S.
Nice place to relax,jog, exercise
a. j.
beautiful park with plenty of spots to relax, enjoy and visit.
D. D.
It's too late. You've already missed Leicester carnival... 😎 nice weather, nice people, nice food and something for everyone. Lines for drinks were too long though. They need to organise the bars better next year.
H. S.
Reasonably priced parking. Good access for both football and rugby. Some electric charging points.
c. g.
Very beautiful and maintained park. Its near by city center only and next to the university of Leicester. Every Saturday in morning running events organised by parkrun.
f. s.
Yo...it was awesome place to relax and spend time with family and as well as friends..so beautiful park....enough and more space to hold a party...
Y. S.
Great for walks and runs or an afternoon in the green! Fully equipped with Basketball, Football and Tennis courts, workout machines and a skatepark. Perfect to keep in shape!
S. N.
Big, family friendly open space. Parking available but not cheap. Development work in one corner
R. R.
I find peace when I walk through the park. Lake and garden in its middle made it a lovable place.
T. J.
I have a real soft park for Victoria Park. Great in the summer with lots of activity here. It's also a great place to walk in all weather.
R. P.
A nice, spacious park with a striking Lutyens War Memorial. Various sports pitches, tennis courts, ramps and other facilities. There’s a parkrun every Saturday at 9am (cancellations are rare), free, timed 5km run or walk.
J.
Gorgeous historical architecture, alongside the poignant, more recent arch of remembrance. Aside from that, the park itself isn't particularly outstanding with little amenities. Good location for events.
B. P.
Great place to go for a walk or a jog. Right next to the University of Leicester campus. Also next to De Montfort Hall, where a lot of events and shows take place.
H. M.
Big green space, two kids play areas, tennis courts, outdoor gym, skate park, football and basketball facilities. Popular dog walking park but be aware it is surrounded by busy roads with no barriers.
P. B.
Great park for locals. Includes nature area, sports pitches, war memorials, tree-lined paths. Ruined only by rude, selfish cyclists who can't read or ignore 'no cycling' signs and lazy gits who can't be bothered to walk 10 metres to a bin!
S. K. E.
A nice and quiet place to visit in Leicester. In the middle of the city this place looks like a village. Ambient environment and it looks like a green blanket over a huge area.
a. s.
Good place for morning freshness
F. I. M. S.
We always spend our summer weekend in this beautiful park. There are some great restaurants and take aways nearby. Kids love playing in the play area.
S. S.
Fresh air. Trees. Nature. Lots of space. Kids play area. And much more. Lovely place to relax in nature.
B. W.
Although I know Victoria Park well, on this occasion I was simply there for a Covud PCR test and this was very easy and efficient.
No time to go into the park so I will update when I am next there, probably in the spring
P. R.
When we visited, the purpose was to find the Rockets for the Rocket Around Leicester. The park is absolutely huge, nice for walks, cycling, exercising, running you name it! On a sunny day you could well take your picnic basket and sit under a tree and enjoy the scenery. It has quite a few playing areas for the children as well, even one for much older children at the far end of the park.
A. S.
Good place to park for either Welford Road or The King Power stadiums.... 20 min walk... Parking only £1 all evening....
H. B.
Nice and peaceful park with seating, large sports area, very tidy, grass cut nicely .War memorial always nice to see.local shops, cafes pubs etc. Separate bike paths. There is a children's playground also.
D. E.
Nice and clean. I'm a Brummie that just happened to be in the area. Nice and clean though..
Y. V.
Excellent park. One of the largest in Leicester with excellent access. Parking is available near De Montfort Hall. Mostly grass and trees. No lakes or much in the way of flower beds but beautiful nevertheless
J. B.
3 play areas, and a obstacle course by the pond. Massive park, used as a thru route for students at UOL and everyone else going into town. The play area for little kids by the car park had been updated recently and is good, my 8 yr old likes it! The old play area with the railings all around, by the university and doctors is no more. But has been replaced by another just above it. Tbf I grew up using it and that was ages ago. Very good replacement. All they need is someone to bring the old cafe back to life now, it's in a sorry state but still 5 stars overall
T. L. F.
Daytime visits with the kids are always good, there's a few different play areas, nature sections with ponds and woodland and loads of space to run around. The toilets near the tennis courts are a bit grim, and it would be nice to see some investment in the pavilion, e.g. opening up a cafe. Parking is usually okay, with spaces along Victoria Park Road.
B. Y.
Lovely play areas (x3) for kids of different ages, we come here almost weekly and the kids don’t seem to get bored of it!
There’s a few picnic benches around the play areas but would be useful to have more.
The paths are split into cycle and walking lanes, although it gets crowded at busy times so ideally, they should be wider.
Overall, a lovely park. It could be improved by doing more landscaping in some of the large grassy areas.
S. P.
I have known this park since birth. Always busy but unsafe at night. It should be lit all over the park as there are no boundary fences. There have been problems in the past. Even myself. Considering it is used to traverse at night with Leicester tigers, De Montfort hall, Leicester Uni and local pub users all crossing the park in the dark.
I must also mention the cutting down of several trees which I found most abhorrent.
D. S.
Lovely old fashioned park with some fine old trees. Much valued by all.
Y. O. O.
This is one of the largest park I have ever been to. It is kept clean, and it's quite relaxing. There is also a small part for sport activities.
M. A.
I enjoyed visiting this area with my family. The view before sunset was lovely. You need to visit if you haven’t!
J. J. P.
Lot of area for walking.. nice place to spend time
S. G.
Nice Park you can come and have a good day out
H. W.
Fairly bleak open parkland with trees mainly confined to an avenue. Monument cordoned off.
N. T. T.
Nice quiet park where alot of students chill out. Unfortunately there's no lake.
M. S.
Excellent park with plenty of space. Two separate play areas for children. An abundance of park benches with plenty of rubbish bins. At night the lighting along paths is good but is very dark when venturing into the fields. Close to Queens road amenities too.
M. R.
I have the good fortune of Victoria Park being on my doorstep, a great place for everyone to enjoy.
A. B.
My favourite local park. Lots to do!
T. I.
I love vicky park. An open field next to the university for chilling and hanging out with friends
K. P.
Loved going for a picnic and long walk in Victoria Park! Three reasonably sized playgrounds for the kids too (swings, slides, hung-down see-saw, walking beans and large climbing frames). Nice and tidy grass parts and clearly marked cycle and pedestrian lanes throughout.
The park was quite busy on a warm sunny day but it didn't seem crowded. Plenty of free parking all along the main road surrounding the park, as well as in the pay & display car park near De Montfort Hall.
S.
A nice park with nice kids play areas. The war monument a nice thing to see as well. Very big and spacious. A place to avoid after dark though, a few cases of mugging going on.
A. J.
Such a nice wide open space for meeting with friends and going for walks. I'm not one to go outside much so when I do I like to visit local parks if I want to just enjoy a walk outside instead of going into town with lots of shops and big groups of people in one place.
S. D.
A good, open space for ball games and dog walking with a children's playground nearby. An avenue of trees near the roadside provides some shelter and interest. Roadside parking is available.
j. P.
We always love to go walking at Victoria Park most of the times is really beautiful. But today (3/06/2021) we saw many broken glasses that were down and in the grass too ,probably from drunk people which I guess shouldn't be allowed drinking there as many children go to play at the park every day .
Council should do something about that and maintain the park clean cause not all people care to take their garbage away while they leave the park (sadly) .Broken Glasses are really dangerous especially for little children .my little son was walking today with me and I was really stressed about these sharp pieces of glass being on the street . I hope we won't see anything like that again .
Y. M.
Excellent facilities for families, walking, cycling and running people. It is accessible for all. 4 out 5
D. E.
Love the park which is becoming very busy. It is now less for dog walking and more for young kids with more and more play areas.
With this comes rubbish/litter which over the summer was terrible. I've been a local for 7 years and have seen a big change and it really is a shame.
B. W.
Great set of parks for the kids and numerous good events going on.
M. G.
Always a pleasant experience when walking the circuit if Victoria park, people friendly, lots of lovely dogs . Good to see a park's amenities in constant use; tennis courts, skate area, exercise machines, young people playing games and, much more. Highly rated
R. W.
I went to Oktoberfest. After a moment of not getting in due to problems with security. Interesting but not what I expected. No stalls just 2 blokes singing and German lager on sale not really Oktoberfest. Disappointing
S. L.
Love this place. Nice and open. Walkways for people as well as cyclists which are clearly marked out.
O. A.
It is amazing park, huge and quite. However the problem is in the night it is too dangures
L. G.
Great park. Nice tree. Good for a walk and play ball games
D. R.
a nice place to chill with friends and family. not much to do unless walking, chilling and a small child park is your thing? sometimes plays host to awesome events.
F. '. B.
Has a basketball park and decent space
P. G.
Surprisingly big park and various activities including multiple kids play areas, tennis, basketball, skatepark, rugby posts, pavilion, and even covid test site (!) Kids playground is in good condition. Though the play areas and park in general needs better public behaviour and cleaning. Lots of discarded bottles, rubbish, and broken glass
S. I.
It's nice to go there with family 👪
L. d.
Beautiful place lovely people enjoyed eid there
A. S.
Beautiful park to spend your day
E. A.
Clean and beautiful park
A. E.
I recommend everyone to visit this place! It is very peaceful and beautiful
S. H.
Live 5 minutes walk from here. Love it all year round, plenty of space, cycle and pedestrian lanes. Downside tennis courts now not free and amount of litter/rubbish left by people. More so over summer.
C. S.
Very pretty park and very open. I love Leicester there are so many interesting places and architecture you can see there was a lot of wealth there in the past but alas now sadly gone
G. M.
Cold but dry for Remembrance Sunday. Disappointed with the state of the cenotaph; so dirty it was impossible to read the engraved inscription. Also upset that religious leaders were scheduled before the veterans who had actually risks their lives & seen their brothers in arms die in front of them for our freedoms. Surely the whole point is to thank them ALL for their sacrifices.
k. l.
Nice place, well looked after and vibrant during the day. Tennis courts, basketball court and football pitch always busy.
R. M.
Decent sized park with good parking facilities, tennis courts and kids play areas. Also a nice walk into Leicester Town centre via a no traffic traffic route. Also near the University for people needing to get to that or Demontfort Hall.
K. S.
Such a good place to sit on a bench and chill
L. P.
Great park in Leicester only a very short walk from the city centre. It is a great big open space with lots of space to do whatever you'd like from ball games to picnics. There is also plenty of things to take a look at also, from the small nature walk, to multiple play parks, the war memorial and even the university. Leicester has plenty of little parks near the city but this one is sizeable, versatile and very peaceful. My favourite.
J. P.
Nice open spaces, tennis courts, a skate park and a play area. Theres plenty to do and nice footpaths to cycle, run or walk on. Located near to plenty of food and drink
R. K.
Quite a big park. To take a scroll, jog, outdoor gym or play football, all the facilities are there.
P. O.
Great place pity the council has not kept there promise to clean the memorial if it had been a memorial of another faith I'm sure it would be cleaned
Shame on you solsby
W. Y.
Very close to the University and pretty good for walking and thinking
B. H.
Nice welcoming Open the safe environment lots of green Louise trees play area 52 relax not too far from the city centre worth a visit specially with the family I was there on my own and find a very relaxing no one bothered me some was out it was very pleasant I did enjoy it and I hope to go again worth a visit if you're in the area like I said leave the town centre easy to find
D. W.
Parkrun..very friendly volunteers and a great turn out, loved every minute.
S. T.
Great venue yet again for the Leicester Caribbean carnival .... clean park with good ambiance
M. D.
Great park for jogging, relaxing or playing a sport!
r.
A lovely open space to enjoy
C. L.
Lovely place to visit, beautiful park great for families and meeting new people.
s. e.
Currently parts of it closed off like the gym and 5 a side and tennis courts. Much of the car park is closed due to the covid test centre. New play equipment over by the uni is great and built for all ages and can be used for workouts.
G. S.
Great park with lots to do. The only thing it's lacking is a nice cafe. It has a cafe but I wouldn't make the effort to go there as it wasn't that great last time I went.
P. B.
Went to Leicester Pride 2021. Lovely park. Easily accessible via New Walk from the city centre. Excellent event and a great day out. 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
P.
Superb park with even grass
S. S.
Great Park and history behind it. Toilets are rough but usable in a pinch (soap, water and dryers work in the gents'). For covid times - paths are busy between 8-7. The main paths immediately are half lit half not, so not 100% safe to walk at night. Surrounding bike paths are lit up. Really nice entrance with well-maintained flowers outside the war memorial.
A. M.
Lovely park plenty of space for walking and running, separate cycle paths and two play areas for children, also has a carpark and Tennis courts, can be windy because it's such a big open park, so cover up if it's a cold day
L. T.
Lovely place for a walk or run, handy coffee shops doing take out up Queens Road. Lots of play equipment, plenty of well behaved dogs (also lots of squirrels for them to chase). Beautiful colours in autumn.
a. s.
Me and my friend visited Victoria park for cobid 19 test because we wanted go to see Leicester city and Manchester city football match mabber of s medical staff very good help us to test us thanks her she gave us good advice God bless her
S. A.
Really nice park for a walk or a jogg or just to lay down
L. V.
Very nice park, it's nice to have a little walk and have a tour around the University as well. Lots of picknick benches which are also wheelchair accessible. There is lovely playground for young children. It also has a skate park.
In this park there is also a huge war memorial located. Its easy to access and well maintained.
A. I.
Great park. Has a outdoor skatepark with lights. Also has tennis courts, basketball court and caged football pitches with lights. The toilets seem to be locked in the evening. You do have to pay for parking and the machines do not take card. But it's a bit spacious park with lots to do.
D. L.
Big green area, lots of space to walk and play, some local league football being played while we were there, large car park at one entrance
Z. P.
Lovely park for a young family, multiple play areas for children of different ages, the grass was pretty long could do with being cut more regularly!
S. B.
A very good place for playing and have good time with family and friends.
E. T.
As city parks go Victoria park is ticks most boxes. Good parking is available, as well as a reasonable outdoor gym, 2 newly renovated play areas, tennis courts, a small skate park, and new cycle lanes. The majority of the park is taken up by sports fields and open grass. Unfortunately the pavilion is now in disuse, though toilet facilities are open nearby. The main feature of the park is the beautiful memorial arch, which dominates the area, worth a visit just to see this.
K. M.
Very good. Lots of parks for kids and workout equipment. Also there is separate places for football and basketball games.
A. K.
Nice activities for children and adults. Playground for children and outdoor gym for adults. Toilets are quite clean and there are nearby shops around.
N. S. M.
Nice place to hang out when the sun is out.
Cycle tracks and walking tracks around huge open fields and parks with children's playing area makes it perfect for everyone.
T. W.
Victoria Park has been my local park for more than 20years. I use it as a recreation. Attend events, and is an enjoyable walk to other establishments like the University, DeMontfort Hall, New Walk and the City centre, which has, on many occasion cheered me up when the day head was daunting. I love the ever changing skyline viewed from the Queen's Rd side. Originally a race course, the tree formations provides borders around the park, and during seasonal change are glorious. There are a variety of amenities, children's play areas, sports facilities, cycle paths, cafe and toilets. Park lighting is improved and also parking has been upgraded with excellent disabled bays.
T. S.
Taking part in parkrun at victoria park leicester. Well attended. Good route. Nice park with open areas, playgrounds and a small nature area. Easy parking.
Z. N. (.
Very large park, lots of different areas to explore with children or as a couple.
Always delightful to find somewhere new within the park or spot some of the local wildlife. Very peaceful especially near the wetlands/swamp area. It's got two different play areas for children which are relatively clean (does depend on weather!) and are nicely equipped. Good paths around the park, very pretty floral displays to look at especially the spring ones.
Delighted to see the large (compared to other local parks) gym area.
Y. M.
Great park, and plenty of regular events on going. Has a fitness park and 2 children's play areas, also spots available for cricket, rugby and football. It is also a great place for a jog/walk or a cycle run, and also has a skate park and basketball arena, parking is available inside the park at a charge (£1.00 for 2hrs) or outside which is free along one of the roads.
A. P.
The Victoria Park not far from the city center, is also located near the Central Train Station. It is a very beautiful park with large green spaces, where all citizens can go and enjoy the beautiful days, with the family in total tranquility . Also inside the park,a mightily war Memorial was built topped by a large arch, which aims to remember all the heroes who died in the war.; I suggest you go and see it....it is worth it. In this pleasant place there are,for free use for citizens : soccer fields, basketball, tennis and above all,for fitness enthusiasts, there are all the basic tools, to be able to practice their physical activity ever day, outdoors and in total freedom. Of course, it is good to inform the visitors; that in this park it is good to go during daylight hours; because in the evening, it is no very bright and one can encounter unpleasant situations.
H. O.
Nice open park which resembles a common with a good network of tree lined pedestrian and cycle pathways helping people to easily get from one side to another. Used for many large events, the open areas lend themselves well to this use. Small areas have been turned into nature areas to help the wildlife and are surprisingly rich considering its position close to main roads, the city and people
O. S.
Beautiful and peaceful park in the hearth of the city
V.
Nice clean park. Kids love it here, 2 large play areas. Awesome tennis courts too
H. J.
A lovely park to visit at all times of the year.
S. M.
It's a bliss place if the sun 🌞 is out.
S. S.
Lovely place to run as the outer ring is spot on 2k. You can cycle around most of it safely on the cycle paths. There are a few pedestrian only pavements running through the middle.
It can get very busy on sunny days however there is plenty of space, and the toilet facilities are not too horrendous.
x. D.
Nice park, with open green space . The paths are tree lined and you can cut through pretty quickly or walk around the park. The park doesn't contain a lake or have masses of features, it is a park in the city.
Warning: Like all parks I would avoid this park during the hours of darkness as it isn't well lit.
S. M.
Lovely park. Very impressed to see an outdoor gym. Huge park. Lots of things to do for the kids. Lovely play area.
Football court for older kids and teenagers. Excellent for spending time with whole family. Parking is available but paid not free.
P. J.
Wide open space enjoyed by everyone locally. Activities for young children a free open air gym. Host to the Caribbean Carnival in the summer.
A. S.
Beautiful park with lots of activities. Dog walking is big for me and there is lots of space to play with other dogs or avoid them depending on your dog.
There is an outside gym which is really useful but can get quite busy.
Lovely trees and lucky vistas, interesting pond near some recycling bins as well.
I love this park 🌳
E. G.
So this park I only come for my son football, the park is soo huge, very clean, nice pitch for playing football
L.
A friendly place with a nice welcoming atmosphere. Very professional
R. S.
The park ground is too big to take many people, the greener grass the trees, the place was very nice fresh air,I enjoyed on the of Eid
D. S.
Great park and great pub across the road the old inn great pub staff and fantastic food a must try if not been before
R. O.
Good size car park which wasn't too badly priced. The children's play area hasn't got much for toddler's
H. T.
Lovely park. Clean tidy. Wide open spaces with good play park for under 5's.
A. A.
Beautiful park especially after the renovations leading to the memorial. Has a skate park, decent gym and plenty of green space. Great for runs or cycles when staying out of the public eye. Everyone minds their own business, until the college students come out to play.
E. D.
One of nice park but I prefer abbey park much more better
s.
Lovely place for a walk , this autumn i was able to see a beautifull combination of colours!! Highley recommended!
F. M.
The largest in city. Amazing.
P. T.
Ample parking and a nice place to walk
S. G.
Lovely place for a walk, running, tennis, basketball, football, and some activities for children of different ages.
J.
Good stuff there, pavilion, public toilets, more than one playground, tennis courts and skate parks. Very open and still urban with roads visible and audible; if you're looking fo a place to unwind it could be better but you couldn't expect much more in the city.
A. S.
A very nice place to sit and relax especially on summer days!

Great place to enjoy the fresh air coming off the plants and trees. Lake running through with lots of different birds. Also a great place to get fit with the outdoor machines and people jogging around the oval. Fun to be had by all. Not forgetting the mini zoo for the young ones
T. M.
Fabulous open space, with access to various activities like skate boarding, basketball, 5-a-side football, tennis and plenty open fields. All outdoor. Plenty of space even if you just fancy some quiet time or a picnic. Normally very clean too
W. u. h.
Park in the heart of Leicester. It has an open air gym, children's play area, basket ball court , tennis court and skating ramps.
N.
Perfect place for a sunny day (:
K. O.
Beautiful park with football pitches, tennis courts and plenty of space for picnics.
P. K. (.
The best place on sunrise. Good to make photos and good place to spend time with family
D. G.
Had a picnic here and there was so much space even on a beaming Saturday! Close to the city centre and some local food places if you do not fancy bringing food from home. Ample parking too. A must visit.
B. F.
Such a lovely place on a summer day. Lots of people have picnics here and there is a great atmosphere. It's great for exercise or a walk. Flowers in the spring, and lots of trees along the walkways. It's totally different place at night though. The park pulls crime at night and should be avoided at night. But I'm so glad Leicester has this park. It adds much needed nature to the post-industrial city
S. T.
Very good and reasonable carparking prices.

Nice area, lots of green to sit on as well as fun equipment to use. Has exercise machines as well 👌nice place to walk.
M. D. F.
I love Victoria park. Very relaxing and fun. A lot of room to play sports or just bask in the heat and sun. Convenient walk to the health centre and also very good for commuting to university from multiple directions. Would be good to place clear signs for where bikes are allowed because it seems cyclists take full control of the paths. Other than that, fantastic cycle paths and very relaxing. Absolutely recommend this multi-purpose park!
G. G.
Nice piece of green space in the middle of town.
Nice for a walk while waiting for Demontfort Hall to open
Probably not too safe feeling at night as its not well lit. Shame some people spoil it and make you feel that way. People use it for sport, picnics, walks, dog walking, sunbathing and its really nice.
A. M.
Large park in the city. Cafe, public toilets which are well maintained. Kids play area and outdoor play/exercise equipment. In addition to large grassy areas there are tennis courts, basketball courts, 5 a side goals and skate park. Nice tree lined walks and small nature area. War memorial arch. Occasionally they host events there such as Caribbean festival, sponsored walks, fun fair, circus, music events. The football/rugby pitches are sometimes used by local teams for practice and matches.
Great open area. Pubs and shops within walking distance on London Road and Queens Road.
The only negative would be to say there has been crime at night but the council seem to be addressing this by opening up the paths and installing better lighting.
Free on road parking with time restrictions 1 hour, pay n display on road parking as well as a nice pay n display car park which has been refirbed in recent years.
M. T.
Nice park, albeit one dimensional. Large open fields and excellent free tennis courts but you may have to compete with a bunch of early adolescents who've forgotten their racquets and bought the wrong sized ball
C. C.
Great park. Good for running around, walk, picnics etc. Basically anything you want to do in the park is doable here. Avoid at night.
S. M.
Nice Park. There are multiple good playgrounds, outdoor gym, tennis courts, 5 a side football AstroTurf, basketball net, skatepark and massive fields for sports. Park Run is 9 o'clock on a Saturday morning but be careful at 9 o'clock at night!
R. H.
It's okay. They ate willing to refund because the supplier can't supply the carpet. But they insist I have to go to the store, and can't do the refund on the phone. May be they can improve on this
J. C.
Great place spoilt by some dirty person that left a discarded Durex.
A. J.
Really nice park. Clean and great place for exercise. There's a little Calisthenics gym and table tennis tables. There are a few barbecue areas and no drone flying around.
Of course the memorial arch is the centre piece and is very pretty.
M. P.
You can do lots of things walking running and you can relax to, specially with kids you can exercise, i take my 20 year old son autistic boy he loves there to do activity, I like to say thank you so much who ever planned to put new things for kids and adults , one request IN THE PARK SHOULD BE NO SMOKING , THANKS
R. S.
Went to the Thai Festival. Hard to find parking here but we finally made it. The festival had a nice range of food stalls, shopping stalls, clothes stalls and a stage with live music and a ring with Thai boxing. People were friendly but I did think it was too small to call it a festival?! Tickets were fairly priced....£4 in advance for an adult or £5 at the gate.
J. D.
Large green open space in the heart of busy city. Great place to walk and get away from the maddening crowd. Busy when they hold open air events usually with an ice cream wagon which there was not today! Well worth the visit.
I. Q.
Great flat open space
P. M.
A great place for a walk or bike ride.
S. W.
Went to Clash of Drums here which ended in a great concert here. Good facilities in the park, kids play area, toilets, grown up exercise equipment and large area for walking, cycling and walking a dog. Ice cream van also an occasional bonus!
A. d.
Nice park. Although would mention a word of caution about walking around this student type area alone at night, we saw plenty of unsavoury characters huddled in bushes smoking exotic substances.
And while the car park area dear Montfort hall is quite pleasant and scenic. With a lively atmosphere with the football and sports areas around (especially in summer months) - the area does suffer with a problem of many people in their twenties smoking drugs and hanging around their cars and revving their vehicles up and down the car park.
While I can understand they may only be harming themselves, they should also understand it's a public park and many young children walk by - they should not have to inhale or even smell those things
G. M.
Lovely park. Great for walking, running, and exercising in general. Good place to relax and clear your mind. Gardens are beautiful and there's many football fields to choose from.
N. A.
On a warm day it's a lovely area to walk, play football, and just chill. It's massive so you ain't squashed like sardines.
It is the place to celebrate as we easily had quarter of a million in there to celebrate Leicester City winning the Premier League and easily fitted a 3 mile charity run there last weekend.
It is one of the city's most easily accessible open spaces.
G. M.
Its beautiful park and awesome. Here basketball ground, tennis court, and skate track, cricket ground, football ground also available for playing. Who wants to spend time with nature it's superb.
J. A.
A breath of fresh air in the city centre
V. P.
Grateful to have this green space in the middle of the city! Lovely wildlife pond area and exciting new playgrounds.
J. B.
Love a nice walk here in all types of weather.
D. J.
Nice open space with a kids park, skate park and plenty of room for football games. People fly drones from the park as well. There's free parking along the side of the park as well and there's plenty of shops nearby. Also quite close to the city centre.
B. J.
Always like the park. Lots of dog walkers and kept nice (except if it's a sunny weekend and people litter but that's not the parks fault, that's the people who go there)
A. N.
A very big park, excellent for any kind of activities, be it running, walking, sitting, playing.
The location and vibes of the place are amazing.
M. B.
Pleasant large park on the edge of the city centre. It looked like the cafe had closed down. Also has open air exercise machines and public toilets. There is a pay and display car park but you can also park for free for an hour on the south edge of the park. Good shopping is nearby on the Queens Road with lots if shops and cafes.
D. N.
Nice, huge park.
R. B.
Lovely green area in the middle of Leicester. Great for running round. Lots of sports. Good place to go in summer for a picnic or a sunbathe
L. T.
Awesome park for chilling with friends, playing frisbee or sports in the summer. There’s a war memorial in the middle and outdoor gym and play area for children. Also a handy cut through from the Clarendon Park/Queen’s Road area to Leicester University or London Road.
K. M.
A great Park near leicester city centre. It has open spaces, outdoor gym, play areas a small wooded area with a pond, tennis courts, skateboard area, hard floor football area and also used by cricket, rugby and football teams. The one downside is that it is an open park so can be a dangerous place to be after dark, be warned.
H. S.
Quite a huge park, for something located quite central in the city. It is somewhat flat. It has a small playground, 2 or 3 large football field and 2 '5-a-side' caged pitches. There are two paths that cut across the park which also has a cycle route. Victoria Health centre is adjacent to the park. The park is heavily used by University of Leicester's Sports and Social Societies on Wednesday afternoons but it's normally quite free to use other than that day.
K. B.
Beautiful park with tennis courts skate bored half pipe kids park it's pretty much got everything
T. A.
Lovely park. Take a walk, have a quiet time, walk the dog, whatever you want to do, this park is for you.
H. F.
Great park in the city of Champions!
M. S.
I love to walk at night. Very well lit and due to University students always people around even walking the park. 2km (1.2miles) around the boundary of the park.
A. K.
Nice park to walking and playing
M. R.
It's a good park
D. G.
I was here when they hosted Leicester Pride, and i didn't realise how big the park is! The day was so much fun, however, I couldn't help but notice for such a expanse area, they contained Pride in a very small area of the park. Considering these event are massive, they could've opens it up a bit more and expanded into more of the greenery.
S. B.
Great Park run with amazing volunteers every Saturday morning!
V. M.
Lovely and spacious with different areas kids can play.
J.
Ok so i was one of the moaners when all the renovation was going on round the car park but i have to say that apart from some of the amazingly old trees that were uneccessarily cut down..theyve made a great job of it...love this park..more for excersise than esthetics like flower beds etc...but a massive well kept grass space with outside gym going on and two childrens areas. Good for footie and so on and used a lot for city events...brill for dog walking too.
J. S.
Great clean space providing much needed contrast to the surrounding urban zones
R. K.
Lovely park with a skate park and two playparks, often quite dirty though that's more the visitors
S. S. R. G.
It's awesome place to walk with fresh air all the time best please for jogging and pets will love to go there as well.
J. E. C.
A nice spacious park with kids' play areas at both ends and a new all age play park in the middle. With plenty of trees lining the paths through the park, there's also a more secluded pond area for wildlife hunting.
Currently undergoing building work between the cenotaph memorial and Granville Road.
z. s.
Nice little park. Plenty of space for picnics and also ground marked out for sports. Also the Cenotaph is a beautiful place, especially on Remembrance Sunday.
M. L.
Great simple park, flat wide open spaces with plenty of kids apparatus. Run, ride and relax with shops nearby incase you need some food or drink to stay out longer.
A. K.
A nice park, 2 play areas and a gym, a nice park to walk around, plenty of space and a nice place to relax
W. F.
I have been going to Victoria Park for years. It is a 15 minute walk from the city centre, and has vast open spaces, playground, outdoor gym equipment, tennis and basketball courts, and a skate park. The paths are also suitable for roller skating.
M. M.
I have done almost all permissable outdoors activities in Victoria Park. I have watched live shows, taken leisure strolls around, enjoyed some drinks from pubs across London Road and Queens Road, have had many picnics while enjoying the summer heat, taught my children children how to ride a bicycle there, religiously attended the Leicester City Carribean Carnival year by year until it got to commercial for me (I can't feel that vibe anymore), enjoyed many a drink when Leicester City Football Ball Club won the Premiership and not to forget mentioning that I ride through almost four to five times a week. I simple love it. I love it in the summer when the evening air refreshes you when you are taking a stroll 👋👋👋👋👋
D. A.
Remembrance day was emotional but important for the young people to share the experience
S. F.
Wide open space. Lots of trees also. Love the tea/coffee kiosk. Great place to exercise the dog. Close to the city but doesn't feel it
A. W.
The war memorial stands proud in the centre of the park, with winding paths and lines of trees. Plenty of space for kids and dogs to play. Also acts as the venue for a weekly Parkrun on Saturday mornings.
F. G.
Lovely inner city park. I've three daughters aged 4 8 and 12 and with the parks varied playgrounds, gym, pond, fields, skate park and sports courts it keeps them well occupied.
New toilet block is much better and convenient too.
Slap in between London road and queens rd where some lovely picnicables can be purchased it's a great place to make base and have a picnic.
That's just on a normal day but there are so many events here throughout the year that you can combine picnic, playgrounds and a carribean carnival or sponsored charity paint run
M. U.
After the car park being refurbished sand some areas have been re cluttered its now an amazing park which is kept clean. However the grass needs to be maintained better
A. M.
I go for walk around the park everyday when I'm staying here with my son I'm 60 plus love the fresh air.
B. K.
Beautiful park in a beautiful part of Leicester. Nice walking down New Walk, good shops on Queens road and good food on London road.
D. N.
A huge park in Leicester, with a few goals, rugby posts, tennis courts, kids area, gym area and a little skateboard area. Went to the German beer festival there, definitely recommend it if it's comes back in the summer!
M. r. a.
Best park to go for nice walk and also a nice jog too.
J. E.
Beautiful public space . Ideal for a picnic . Game of football or just taking kids to play. Also there Is a restaraunt in the old pavilion building. Plenty of parking around the park perimeter and car park. There's been some legendary events here BBC party in the park and of course the annual Caribbean carnival and also the eid festivals
T. S.
A big, clean park with lots of grass, cycle routes and footpaths, tennis courts, a skate park and other features including playgrounds and a war memorial. Lots of squirrels, too.
c. s.
Lovely park, lots of facilities, reasonably priced parking.
H. M.
Victoria Park is a good place big and a well kept place, visited the park over the years attend Caribbean carnivals and other attractions. However it was a very emotional experience this time in a memory of the tragic death of a brother in the USA, kneeling for just under nine minutes and just hearing him saying I CAN'T BREATHE 😥😥😥😥😥😥😥🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿.
L. m. W.
It's beautiful. Well maintained. Lovely to sit and watch the beautiful sunsets over Leicester They host many interesting events such as the Jamaican Carnival, usually in August.

C. S.
This park is great for alot of different things, it's bigger enough to host events such as the Caribbean carnival. It is has a good war memorial land mark which is remarkable way to show respect for lost onces. The park also has facilities for kids like football and a host of other ball games the is also 2 parks for children with a range of climbing frames swings etc. Two pubs close by also if u need a beer or a quick bite to eat. There are toilet facilities here which are keep clean and tidy along with fitness apparatus for adults. The park is also very close to shops and restaurants. Would recommend this park to anyone.
C. L.
Large open spaces with pitches and tennis courts. There are also Public toilets and play area plus a skateboarding park. There is also a war memorial which is huge situated close to the large carpark.
M. K.
Nice Park just don't wander behind the pavilion..
U. D.
One of the best parks in Leicester. Lots of space, great for kids too
W. S.
Theres a fair amount of available activities, and theres always plenty of open space. Usually quite empty, very lovely for just a short walk within the city.
M. G.
Find this park most beautiful. With an immense amount of open space around 69 Acres! It is great for long walks were you can just relax and loose yourself. It also has some good historical architecture. You can find a grade 1 listed war memorial here. Mixing both the old and new with the current skate park it has something for everyone.
J. W.
Lovely place to sit and relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. I visited on the way back from the train station it's not far from the. City centre, there's things for children to do and there's a cafe.
D. H.
Would be better if half the car park wasn't taken over by the Portakabin village
W. K.
Big park near the centre. Couple of decent play areas, small skate park, tennis courts, basketball court etc. Popular with joggers as the main route around it is exactly 1 mile with gentle gradients.
J. M.
Amazing lung space.... wonderful place to get away on a bright sunny day... lovely kids play area too..with plenty of benches all around.
b. e.
Loads of open spaces, lots of things to do for the kids (two seperate play grounds), a skate park, various sports facilities and a workout space. Football fields, tennis courts and lots of open space.
N. M.
Nice open space in an otherwise congested city. Play areas for the younger kids and sports facilities for others. Has a skate park, tennis and football courts, and outdoor gym equipment.
L. P.
Nice place to walk through. Has toilets and parking
M. S. (.
It's such a big park, plenty of space for everyone.
Most of the carnivals end up here and it was the place where Leicester City celebrated their Premier League title.
It's right between London Rd and Queens Rd so there's plenty of options for a little refreshment nearby.
It's worth noting though that portable BBQs aren't allowed on the park.
A. Q.
Very cool fresh air
A. U.
Good park and space if green in an otherwise grey city
d. b.
Nice and big. Car park available . Free tennis and basket ball courts ( prebooking needed) , skating rink available as well . Probably the biggest park in Leicester . Centrally located .

J. A.
Beautiful park for a lovely walk and the kids enjoyed the play park
M. T.
Popular with joggers, cyclists and sun worshipers, Victoria Park is the perfect spot for a picnic or a pleasant walk to New Walk from Clarendon Park. Plays host to a variety of Sunday football clubs, rugby, tennis, seasonal cricket and an array of fitness programmes. Facilities include accessible toilets, restaurant/park cafe, nature/sensory area with pond, three children's playgrounds two of which are fenced off to keep dogs out, skate park, basketball court, tennis courts, five-a-side football pitches and an outdoor gym. Peace walk is a pleasant spot to sit in solitude or walk up to the war memorial from Leicester University. Check the local council website (Leicester City Council) for events being held on Victoria Park.
l. c.
A really lovely park. Great for walking dogs... run, walk, picnics etc. Local to shops and pubs... when there is an event on its wonderful here. Must visit especially if your local.

V. P.
Great day, peaceful, can't believe we were very near Leicester City centre.
P. D. D.
A great outdoor space to enjoy. I use it for parkrun and LOF, however the installation of a cycle lane has caused huge flooding on the footpath which is annoying.
E. O.
Serene environment. Great for walks, picnics, games and all round leisure/relaxation
M. F.
Visited the cenotaph, unfortunately it needs a good cleaning.
S. K. (. K.
Came here for the eid ul adha prayers. Lots of rides although unlike the previous years, this year a fee was charged. Play areas at three ends of the park. 4 tennis courts and football, basketball courts and skate park. My children enjoy it here
h.
Nice place. Got basketball, tennis, football, playing ground, skate park and cycle lanes.
S. D.
Quite a large park with £1/hr plenty of parking spaces. There is a tennis court, outdoor gym, skate boarding area, football, rugby and areas for other activities. Very close to one of the universities in Leicester (Leicester university). About 30 minutes walk to town centre and there are bus routes for in and around Leicester. There's children's outdoor activities and there are shops and restaurants nearby. Generally it's a good park specially during summer.
I took one star off because there were two or three high profile safety issues during night time.
P. J.
It was really busy, primarily due to the carnival. But it was still a very nice atmosphere. The park is large and very green. Quite accessible from town centre on foot.
O.
Very nice and clean!
C. O. (.
Good park for any occasion, well maintained and taken care of. Lots of walking options and fairly central.
L. H.
Situated near the town, adjacent to both Leicester Uni and De Montfort Hall (and it's reasonably priced carpark), Victoria Park is a huge open area for public and private games, events and recreation, with clean facilities, tennis courts, football pitches and footpaths through the trees.

G. P.
Argh! Google maps REALLY want me to write a review about this place. They send me messages EVERY DAY to do it. So I'm doing this under duress, just to stop the incessant bombardment of messages.
It's a park. I quite like it.
D. B.
Very nice place in walking and running playing or oll activities
