Reviews of Claybury Park
R. N.
Vast green space with something for everyone. Play Equipment nicely spaced out, so plenty of room to chill in between and watch them from picnic mats.
Views are spectacular too.
No cafés nearby, so worth packing a picnic to keep you going, as the kids won't want to leave.
R. G.
Lovely dense forest, a great adventure playground for kids. Nice spot for a picnic or bug hunting adventure. Recommended for kids, walkers and cyclists. Free parking nearby in residential area and there are some paths that a wheelchair could use.
C. W.
Lived near here for a long time and blessed to have this on my doorstep, especially during lockdown. Its a semi wild country park so if you're looking for somewhere more civilised with a cafe and toilets, this is not the place for you but it is great for nature walks. Claybury is ancient woodland and open spaces with a large variety of flora and fauna, loads of birds including wild parakeets and i have spotted muntjac deer although they are shy so rare to see them. There are gravelled paths around most of the park although not all of it so in the winter some parts are muddy. There is a great child's adventure playground there, an open air gym nd a picnic area plus a small lake but note there are no toilets or a cafe and all the better for it in my view. I've found it a very safe place to walk, there are always dog walkers to talk to (and all lovely friendly dogs) and people with pushchairs but even so I've walked through the woods on my own and never had a problem. It is also a bluebell wood although the wild garlic is becoming very invasive lately. You can cycle over there but best to stick to the gravel paths. In addition, despite what a review says there are bylaws and you are not allowed to pick anything over there as it affects the bio diversity and they pick and sell the apples to bring in money for the park. Its definitely my favourite park for walking in Redbridge it's so wild but still very accessible and really a beautiful place.
a. p.
Very peaceful areas with climbing equipment for kids. Small pond looking a bit overgrown. Large areas to explore.
G. H.
Great park. Big dogs need to be kept on order and in a lead ;)
R. R.
I love taking a walk with the family here. Plenty of options in terms of the kind of walk you want to have and the possible paths to take. There's an outdoor gym and play area as well. Plenty of runners, cyclists, dog walkers and berry pickers.
J. S.
Great place to walk the dog and has a play ground for the little one. Have built dens with him in the forest. Just missing a little cafe in there.
G. Z.
It's a bit messy at this time of the year 100% need Wellington boots ...but at all the weather was nice and sunny... Recommend for family walk
S. S.
This is one of the most beautiful forests on Earth and it is situated in London. It's like I'm on holiday every time I visit the park and I've living in this neighbourhood since 2006 when I reached enlightenment on 11th April 2017 the first thing was visit this park.
M. S.
I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.
A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the earth’s sweet flowing breast;
A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray …
A. S.
Only went there for 15 minutes but it was a lovely walk, very green with trees all around, 1 main path and a few smaller dirt paths leading in different directions. Lots of dog walkers with friendly dogs, some off the leash but never a problem. Highly recommended
M. A.
Great climbing equipment for 3+ and a very advance one for 7+
D. H.
Cross country here today! It was very muddy, yet fun. The park is lovely and has nice places to run and walk.
If you’ve been here running before and know what I mean when I say THE HILL, congratulations! The 160m long incline of 21m is deadly in the middle of a race but a great achievement, nevertheless.
M. G.
Beautiful park. Brilliant for dog walking.
P. M.
Beautiful woods, park, great for walking or jogging
I. S.
Great family Park!
S. J.
Nice to have a walk with the dog.
D. L.
Lovely park with play ground for children, fantastic for family day out and picnic.
M. I.
Exquisitely beautiful, wild park. Beautifully maintained and clean.
J. C.
Lovely park with a variety of landscapes: forest, parkland, play area, water. The highest points have great views over London. There are many paths so it is easy to escape everyone else for peace and quiet. Only problem is the play area can get muddy which is a shame.
C. N.
Springing into life, a great walk, not too taxing at all
M. M.
Free entry to designed woods for children, dogs, cycling etc. Meet very many other people using this park. Small children play area as well. Ponds with bullrushes. Kept beautifully and natural
J.
Some Dry Footpaths but always end up getting very Muddy so need appropriate Footwear particularly as very Wet underfoot!
L. P.
My favourite park! Lovely tall trees, ponds with ducks, plenty of benches to sit down and enjoy the view!
D. T. G.
I am the most closest person to live near this park as out of my house and am at the gate of the park.
I don't like to walk, but occasionally if I have to, it's like a preserved forest with a lot of woodpeckers in it (need a lot of patience to find them), I know more as I live in Repton Park and trees of this park are on two sides of where I live and birds keep on coming at home and if plan for a long long walk inside, then come across these birds or atleast can hear them which by itself is a pleasant experience.
If you are nature lover, it can give some satisfactory feeling.
Kids play ares for young kids is also one of its kind, small but worth relaxing for a while.
V. P.
Would have had 5 stars if there are less holes in the paths
A. B.
I really like this place. It can be a bit of a hike up and down the hills (especially when it has been raining), but the woods are wonderful all year round. Right now (mid-April) there are wood anemones, celandines, and bluebells just coming through, and stands of wild garlic to follow later.
Bird song in the woods, even if you can hear the M11!
C. M.
Good place to run/walk. Majestic trees and Vegetation.
A. M.
Cool area. Lots of greenery and nice open space. There are tons of huge trees and a nice foresty area
P. N.
Beautiful park, great walk.
M. B.
Great forest and park between Woodford and Barkingside
A. S.
This is a great park for running, walking or cycling with lots of paths unlike a circular park. Its based in a wooded area and is a nature reserve. There is a spectacular view of the city skyline and a nice play area and outdoor gym.
N. S.
good little park in east london very calm place
S. L.
An amazing location with beautiful views. A lovely climb up a tall hill on good days can see into the city. There is a nature trail around the forest, a lake although low on water at the moment. Renewed playground facilities for older and younger kids and a well kept outdoor gym. Could spend hours there for all ages with one downside there are no toilet facilities there.
L. C.
Great park for a walk in the forest, quite muddy this time of year but also very quiet. Wicked adventure playground for the kids too. I live very close but had no idea that this park existed.
S. H.
A decently sized park for the area, a playground for kids. Enough space for those exploring and those excercising to not bump into each other. Nice views and nice place to walk the dog. Not 5 star because of the crowd it tends to attract which can either be a really nice dog walker or a horrible teenager trying to run after you for looking at them wrong.
b. 6.
beautiful for horse riding, cycling and dog walking on a warm day. this is part of drapery hill that was once diapers farm years ago. on a sunny day this is a nice walk and it has a couple of small lakes and a children's play area.
A. M.
Love this place
Really relaxing 😌
R. F.
Man made paths for easy walking/ cycling this natural park land is a great place for dog walking and blackberry picking !Feels like 'proper' countryside, even though it is right in the middle of drab, suburban housing estates and transport links. Nice areas of forest and woodland and great views over London.
L. c. n. m. C.
Great fun for the kids.
K. M.
A great place to observe and enjoy nature , take long walks and revel in the sunshine when the magical orb chooses to descend on us.
R. P.
Lovely place for walking in the woods.
A. R.
We just discovered this park after living in the area for 2 years! Its a bit over run, but we are excited to have a park closeby with an awesome playground for the kids. We've only gone as far as the pond, and look forward to exploring this park further.
D. R.
Great for outdoor walks & grounds have pathways too. There's an outdoor multi gym & plenty of room for dog owners..
H. W.
It's a lovely place to walk, I like walking up into the woods where there is a nature trail . In march april Time the bluebells, wild garlic are flowering and the trees are in blossom
M. H.
Fantastic morning walk
C. G.
Great country park with one of the largest ancient woodland in the London area.
Visit in spring for its woodland wild flowers.
Large numbers of wild service trees a ancient woodland indicator species.
J. C.
Fantastic for walks, especially in the summer. There is a nice lake area where you can feed ducks and an amazing play arwa for kids 6-18+yrs
M. Y. H.

G. B.

J. M.

T. H.

Claybury park consists of walk paths, exercise machines, kids play area, a large pond and woods. Great for kids to run around in and ride their bikes. Gates are controlled and locked at sunset. BBQ or fires are not allowed.
L.

It's pretty. It's local. It's a park and a forest. What more could you want? Little daunting at night though...
M. P.
Nice park. Playground better for bigger kids. Paths not great for buggies. Forest part is hilly but lovely.
p. d.
Lots of open space with a forest, some equipment for children to play on..
There is a lake too.. Nice surroundings not far from the 169 bus stops on Fulwell Ave Barkingside Ilford Essex.
m. H.
For women on there own either running or dog walking it can be a scarry place, you never see park keep era or security patrol s, which would give you a much happier walk.
H. D. S.
Gravel path if you want to keep your shoes clean. If you want to be more adventurous you can duck into the forest which has many different paths.
b. o. b.
