Reviews of Geraldine Mary Harmsworth Park
A. M.
I spent many a day in this park as a young teen, having gone to the school across the road we had no outdoor space so the park provided the perfect place to let off steam. The park is well maintained and the Buddhist Peace Garden is worth going to see. Imperial War Museum also close by.
J. C.
Such a charming place to visit. A nice green space to enjoy amongst a rather busy area, only a short walk from Waterloo. There’s plenty to see and do - from relaxing on a bench to watch the world go by, to appreciating the monuments dotted around.
P. G.
It was a nice park, but it was raining. I had to walk through it, to get to the imperial War museum (near Streatham station), Bus 159 from Oxford Circus Station).

Amazing place great layout and fascinating artifacts

Perfectly reasonable, but unexceptional park outside the Imperial War Museum. Mainly lawns without much more than space to interest a dog. Lots of picnic tables. There used to be a dog obstacle course here, but I didn't see it this time. I don't know if it is gone forever or just the winter.
M. H.
Part of the war museum very well looked after plus you have the museum, the two big Battleship guns weigh in at a 100tonnes apiece, time's that by 8 per ship. That'll get your mind working 🤔😷
A. N.
Very interesting and a grate day. Made a special trip to the imperial War museum.

This is located just beside the imperial War museum, very clean and serene. Has a basketball court.
H. S.
Brilliant place to go - either walking your dog, keeping fit on the outside multi gym, walking and exploring the grounds and great place to take your family if you wanted to look at the past history of the 1st and 2nd world war 👍🙂

During a recent visit to the Waterloo area I stopped off here to eat my lunch bought from the street food market nearby in Lower Marsh. It's a relatively quiet spot (for central London), having a pleasant green space, trees and some wildlife to watch too.
There are some flat benches are available to sit on. Comfortable enough for up to half an hour. Jerk in the Park (Jerk chicken) is also here and had a steady flow of customers.
The odd thing was there didn't seem to be any bins in the park itself. I took my litter with me and found a bin a short way from one of the entrances. Sadly I expect quite a few visitors wouldn't go so far.

The entire grassed area surrounding the War Museum including a cafe, toilets, playground, picnic area, orchard, tennis and all-weather courts, a tree trail, an enclosed specialist wildlife pond, sculptures, dog area, and the Tibetan Peace Garden.
This is an exceptional resource: a well managed and maintained public amenity that's rightfully a destination in its own right.
Highly recommended.

Cute little park especially in summer situated around the Imperial War Museum. Good for a quick stroll or some lunch.

Very dog friendly. Good sports facilities. Pleasant gardens with some nice points if intrerest.Needs cafe or bar (not open at the moment). If you are visting the museum worth bringing a picnic to have in the gardens after.

Really good interesting day out at the imperial War museum. There was so much to see and read it makes you realise how difficult it must have been for everyone during that period
S. L.
Walked through here to get to the imperial war museum. Clean, well maintained with the added bonus of two huge cannons from a warship outside the museum.
M. D.

Nice local people, friendly dogs, clean outdoor gym and kids play area. Tennis, football and basketball courts for cheap hire. And of course the War Museum!

Set in the grounds of the imperial War museum, well kept flower beds, trees that are well cared for some appear to be several hundred years old, tibetan peace Garden that was opened by the dali lama, nice children's playground attached, lots of benches, picnic benches, historical cannons off a navy ship.
Pleanty to offer. Well worth a visit
D. R.

It's a nice little Park which is situated around the Imperial war museum..... I have to say this Park has been very much overlooked over the years by myself....... As lately I've been cycling more and noticing this parking lot more and now using it..... Very in certain parts an actual good place for exercises, facilities for games, children's playground and dog walker.
A. H.
Nothing really to say but looked good and did not see any litter.

Surprisingly decent. Great for my 4 and 1 year old before heading into the museum.

This is the park you want to go to if you want an Imperial War museum. Most parks I go to do not have these but this one checks the box.
