Reviews of Hampstead Heath
C. K.
Fantastic park with beautiful views of London. Clean, nice walk ways and forest bits. Dog loved it. A fantastic morning out
N. S.
Absolutely love the Heath! 🌳🌲
Massive green space in London, nice views of the city, feels very safe and peaceful.
The viewpoint and entryways to the park tend to get a bit crowded on a sunny day (especially weekends) but it gets better the further you walk into the park, where you'll find people walking, jogging and walking their dogs.
Leave your fancy shoes at home - it can get quite muddy 😁
There are public toilets (near to the tennis courts) as well.
m. b.
Been here a number of times but always nice to visit & you may even see someone famous (David Baddiel). Quite a few dog walkers & nice to see actually all the dogs having a fun time.
C. L.
What a wonderful park! There is so much to see, so much to walk to enjoy the clean air and be far from the chaos of the city. It's beautiful all year long, but I definitely recommend to visit it during autumn, wonderful colours!
O. S.
An excellent place to enjoy walking and hiking.
The Heath is a very large open green area in North London.
The area is abundant with trees and walking trails.
There are a number of ponds some of which are used as open air swimming areas.
The Heath is elevated as is the general Hampstead area and there are a number of hills and hillocks from which you can get a great view of the City and it's distinctive skyscrapers.
The Heath is also the location of Kenwood House a National Trust building which can be visited free of charge.
There are also a number of Art Sculptures by Sir Thomas Moore doted about the heath and grounds.
A wonderful place to spend the day walking and enjoying the fresh air.
Highly recommended.
D. T.
A park where you can go to enjoy with family or friends, you can find different ponds, in some you can even swim, there are miles and miles of paths where you can get lost. You can find a lot of fauna, ducks, swans, geese... etc... etc. Lots of dogs walking. The park is connected to the Kenwood Gardens, where you can find free public restrooms.
F. W.
Great selection of fish and fresh veg. Bring your own bags!! As they are not providing them here anymore.
S. T.
A wonderful place to view up close some amazing pieces of art by many noted artists. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the rooms and didn't hesitate to provide information and a history on all the objects.

Heard a lot about this place .. so I jumped on 2 buses to get there, left the car at home. Lovely open space for a walk or even a day, with a picnic basket (?) but I I am still puzzled about the origin of The Stone of Free Speech. Walked right up to the stone .. zilch, no inscription or anything! 🤣.
D. K.
What a lovely nature and heritage! It’s the Richmond Park of the north London. Stunning!
U. T.
Beautiful trail for moderate walk, even though it’s said that it’s a 3-4hrs trail it’s just 1-2hrs of walk with beautiful views.
It covers parks, woods, and fresh water ponds to swim, for the fact the men’s pond was way quitter than women’s 😂
It has facilities like toilets and cafes. And beautiful views.
S. L.
Countryside in London! Views over London from Parliament Hill. My dog loves the Heath. And I enjoy the cold swimming ponds. Hampstead Heath Overground Station convenient to travel here.
V. J.
It's a great park, huge place for kids to run around and play. Make sure you wear your walking shoes and why not bring a picnic too, you can sit by the lake or one of many, many other parts of the park.
As it was during covid outbreak the little cafe was closed so there were no toilets - the only downside.
A. B.
So beautiful… a huge green lung in the middle of the city. Places Central Park in a side pocket. Great location for hiking, a picnic, swimming, jogging or just taking a break from your daily hectic schedule.
T. D.
Loved walking here. The views are stunning. Looking forward to going back for a swim! Great little shops to pop into. Great place to go for a walk with family, loved ones and the four legged kind. Definitely coming back.
P. B.
Best open space in London with great views and lots of wildlife. Good cafes at Parliament Hill and Kenwood
N. W.
Hampstead Heath is less a park than a piece of countryside in the middle of London! Its attraction lies in its variety - open meadows, ponds, wooded areas and the more manicured setting of Kenwood House, with its beautiful rhododendrons flowering in spring. If you go for a longer walk, apart from the main area, don't miss out on the Sandy Heath and the Heath extension, which stretches up to the Hampstead Garden Suburb. At the southern end, Parliament Hill grants a well-known view over London.
T. S.
It's a wonderful park with breathtaking views. The art gallery in the Park's northern area is fantastic. The area is full of interesting places to visit, so exploring it is definitely worthwhile. Several acres of open space adorn Hampsted Heath. A range of animals such as donkeys, deers, and other animals can be seen, which will entertain the children. There are many interesting things to see and a perfect place to picnic.
J. A. B.
We love walking there; the sunrise is spectacular!
T. S.
Absolutely fantastic open park space. Great for a stroll on the paths or walking off trail into the woods. Perfect for dog walking, sports, or a walk for a date. Lovely cafés around the park. The market on Saturdays is also fantastic with lots of food and fresh ingredients.
J. S.
One of the beauties of London an absolute gem of a park.
You can walk up to the top of the Heath to see a beautiful skyline view over Central London with bench seats along the walk up the hill for those who need to take breaks this is a ideal place to visit.
Great for responsible dog owners and social able people. Hampstead Heath is well kept area and the people are very polite, this is a great place for children to visit as it has a couple children parks within the main park itself. There is also a little cafe type place to eat within the park It's very spacious and especially on a hot day its well worth a visit for families and everyone really for a picnic, a leisurely walk and a lovely day out.
There is also a sports track and field so a good place to run on a flat surface and run like a pro. I used to train there and run for Highgate myself about 20 years ago as a sprinter.
There is also a lake and some ducks that can be found in the park. It would take some time to walk around the park and explore it fully but I think its a beautiful place to enjoy you can't go wrong on a good day with great weather!
a. D.
One of the best park we have visited.Perfect for families, kids.
Lots of space, you have some donkeys, kangaroos, deers and other animals for children and adult to enjoy.
The only downside is that we couldn't find any toilets and the bins get full very quickly.
Perfect for hiking too if you enjoy hiking.
Free car park on week ends which is perfect.
Q.
Massive park with plenty to do. Absolutely perfect for runners/cyclists, you can explore so much nature and scenery. However I don't appreciate how all of the tennis courts have to be rented for such an expensive fee. We just want to get fit and have fun whilst doing so. Had tons of childhood memories here and this park will never ever get boring.
k. i. c.
beautiful park, cant wait to go back in the summer
A. G.
I'd say this is the best park in London.
It's the biggest, and it has foresty areas, natural grass and more curated gardens.
I particularly love the Pergola gardens and the lakes bit it's great overall.
It also has deers, caged birds and kangaroos and lemurs on the north side - is that legal?-
It has 2/3 ponds to swim in summer. A unisex and separate men's and women's one. I find this idea a bit outdated but loved being at the women's one.
K. G.
Huge park/heath with children's playground, small ponds (some you can swim in), cafes around the edges of the heath (but none inside), lovely and picturesque pergola, gr8 to have long walks in - be prepared with your wellington boots during rainy times (the ground can get quite muddy). Superb picnic spots in summer. V popular for dog walking.
L. P.
This is my back garden, more or less, up there every day. Stunning views of London's skyline from Parliament Hill. Lovely long walks to be had round the Ponds up to Kenwood. Highly recommended.
A. M.
Beautiful walk. Great place to visit. Plenty of places to eat and drink outside of the park very little inside to accommodate. Fantastic scenic day out
S. J.
A really great park that have a short trail and a feeling like getting into a forest, a place to picnic, also good nice clear sky on sunny day. You can enjoy walk a long the trail, sitting by the lake or a pond, ride a bike, or just enjoy the silent concert in the park - so many activities to do and suitable for family, friends, couple, or just by yourself.
M. A.
One of London best open spaces. So many wonderful walkways. You’ll need a whole day to circulate; if you’re pressed for time then visit Kenwood house and the lakes surrounding the area. There’s also a viewpoint east of the house of London. The main viewpoint though is closer to Gospel Oak, which is definitely worth the visit. Stunning vistas.
A. H.
Deserves more than 5 stars. Perfect place for a laid back weekend with beautiful views.
A. T.
Best park in London, less typically maintained, reminds of a simple nature.
M. B.
Beautiful park in beautiful and calm neighborhood
The view over London is great !
E. S.
One of my favourite parks in London. The whole neighborhood is beautiful and peaceful, the park is huge, wild and you have great views of London.
J. 0.
Lovely combination of open space and woodland... a good place for walks with the family and a great opportunity to play 'Spot the child with the most ridiculous Name ' game ...see if you can beat Mungo and Flamenco..
D. H.
Beautiful scenery and open spaces. Fantastic place to visit.
G. M.
The Hampstead Heath Park is just.....stunning ! Large , wild, airy, spectacular, the perfect place to totally disconnect from the noise and the stress of London. You can spend a whole day here, there are many paths , many routes, green grass, trees, lakes, everything. Oxygen and peace, good for a long walk, for running, it is one of my favourite places so far.
A. W.
Oh, what a beautiful park this is!! We have had so much fun. Baby loves looking at the animals and running around on the muddy grass. Even better when it's warm and sunny ☺️
M. B.
Love the feeling of this place. Big space with room for anyone who comes in, loads of dog walkers, sport enthusiast, chillers, everyone can be at ease in here. Hills offer a beautiful views, trees offer lovely shadow on hot days. Switch off your computer and come too. (Bring along a blanket and a book, it is worth it!)
s. c.
I would say this is probably the most unique park in London because you get a true varied natural environment. Plus you get the amenities of a pool, track, ponds, playing fields. Personally, I love to walk the dogs in the woods and they can also take a dive in the dogs pond. Plus the surrounding Hampstead is about idyllic as London gets.
M. A.
Picturesque park, with deers and various other wildlife. Very surprised to see this in London, nice day out wiith the kids as they have a play area too. Only downside is the parking; there is a car park not too far but is a little pricey, can park for free after 6.30 pm.
Х. А.
A very beautiful place, you can enjoy your afternoon here.
S. D.
Huge place, lovely place to walk when warmer. But still enjoyed today. Parking limited but lots of roads outside are free for parking. Food and drink available but busy as very popular with dog walkers.
A. P.
A taste of the country 30 minutes from Central London! My new favourite place!
M. م.
If you want a feel of countryside in the heart of London, then come here. Amazing scenery, many well maintained ponds, running track (currently closed for COVID19), lots of green space for dog walkers, family with kids, runners and feels very safe. Get to parliament hill top for a mind blowing view of London.
k. w.
Great place especially in summer. Good for dog walkers or picnicers. There are good facilities like cafes etc but not many toilets.
M.
Great Park. Amazing views. Fantastic art gallery in the North of the Park. Definitely worth exploring, since there is so many nice and unexpected areas. I really like it here!
R. K. B.
Amazing place for a very small hike and outing with friends and family .It's a beautiful place ,easily accessible to train station nearby .Has toilet facility too
Y. B.
Large and beautiful park with a lot of places to sit and share enjoying nature. Now, there is a funfair, which is a great option for families.
I. N.
One of the best parks in London!
Huge park with multiple leisure areas. Lots of grass and ponds, allow activities for the entire family and 4 legged buddies.
Make sure to go to Kenwood house and explore the Viaduct along with the view from Parliament hill, which are must see sites while visiting.
T. B.
You can have superb views of the London city skyline from its amazing view point hills. Hampstead retain a certain period village charm, though it is more gentrified but offer less for tourists. It offers iconic views back over London from the vantage point of its hills. From Parliament Fields on Hampstead Heath you look South over the City and the West End.
Hampstead offers Kenwood House, a 17th century mansion now, in the care of English Heritage and with an impressive art collection - and hundreds of acres of woodland, park, walks, outdoor swimming and the biggest gay cruising ground in London. Greenwich can’t compete in size though
M.
What a beautiful place , faraway from central London . Good to live and have fun !!! Sorrounded by many parks .
s.
Lovely place for a walk and photoshoots
A. Z.
A great and natural park, with many paths, so far the best place I've been to in London for walks in nature that includes somewhat exciting terrain with some ups and downs. Filled with exciting trees, fun ponds and lots of hidden paths in the forest where children can explore. It's wonderful that it is a large place and we will be able to return time and again to enjoy different areas. Great cafes with lovely views will be a wonderful visit once everything is open again. It is also easily accessible via the train.
B. M.
Beautiful, natural, vastness, pleasant to the eyes and soul, wonderful energy!
Free parking outside the park! Bookshop, gifts shope and cafeteria!
b. 3.
Great park to go to with someone or alone. They have coffee shops inside and nice outdoor seating area for when the weather is good. Amazing place to go to for a walk, they also have outdoor swimming pools / lakes. It's honestly one of the best parks I have been to in London if not the best. O yes did I mention the great views of London you get from more than a few locations in the park.
C. F.
Really nice place for running and walking, close by train station and the lido is worth visiting. More parking would be good if you are a driver.
A. M.
Beautiful Park, amazing scenery, beautiful zoo, forest, gardens, everything. Very clean, family friendly and family orientated park!
T. F.
Lovely fresh green space. Great walks around and feels immersed in nature. The ponds are gorgeous too.
S. K.
Beautiful, wonder and fantastic Green public park. Best spot for taking a break from routine daily hectic schedule. A famous picnic, swimming, jogging and full of interesting natural green open large space.
A. J.
It was amazing ! You can have access to different ponds if you wish to swim or if you like to hike, gou will have a grtwatt time walking around the park. It is enormous and full of hills !
j. e.
My favorite Park in london. Amazing how countrysidy it feels when you start walking deeper in the heath. And a great park to run. The loop around including the extension is almost 7 miles long.
S. M.
Must visit!!! Huge... with a lot of small lakes to sit around! Perfect for a sunny day! The most beautiful site was people just basking in the sun... reading, drinking, eating, romancing... moms n dads walking their dogs n kids!
Peaceful place, beautiful greenary, scenic beauty and just you and nature!
Disclaimer: huge place to be prepared to walk alot! Wear comfortable shoes and take water n snacks!!! The heath is also surrounded by areas like Primrose Hill, Highgate, Hamstead which is a must visit tooo!!!
D. “. A.
A beautiful house with stunning grounds. Very enjoyable regardless of the weather and with nice amenities such as a shop and cafe.
R. A.
Beautiful scenes in an amazing park!
E. L.
Like Hampstead Heath because its got a lovely London Skyline to take photos and there's a Heron bird down next to the Lake.
A friendly park.
V. F.
Lovely park to a family day out. The ponds are beautiful and we had a great picnic there.
J. M.
Great open and varied park. A lido, womens and men's ponds, great views across London and also wood and field walking. Great for walking dog in mornings and evenings. Escape to North West end for slightly quieter walking and amazing Kenwood house grounds
R. J.
Absolutely amazing park! Cafe is open at the moment and complies with Covid-19 rules. You can walk there for hours and hours... Don't forget your wellies on a wet day!
G. R.
It is really nice to walk near the Lake part of the Park but then again the whole park is worth a visit. It is a very large park.
M. S.
One of London's best parks!
a. k.
Unbelievable amount of space for walking the dog.
Thoroughly would recommend this place.
A. M.
Not been to Hampstead Heath in over 30 years but the place has hardly changed. Walked a route I remember walking as a child, lots to see, lots of history and some great views of London
A. P.
Amazing 800 acres of wild wooded countryside for wonderful walks and even swimming - you can reach it by gospel oak or Hampstead Heath stations or even Hampstead tube.
Z. D.
It's hard to go wrong with a day at Hampstead Heath. Tons of space and good place to walk. It does attract a lot of people so if you are looking for solitude there a better places to go.
A. D.
Great place to be alone, with family members and good friends! If you want to be in contact with nature please come to this park, it's fresh, clean and really well located!
F. G.
One of the parks that will take lots of your energy climbing up the hill and going around. Managed to drag my bike all the way to parliament hill to take some beautiful photo view of central London. Although I don’t come here that often but this is a great park to hangout at. I hope there could be some cycling paths for people to cycle around here. It’s a beautiful park to walk around during this Covid period.
D. L.
Great big wild city park with views of London, swimming, lots of different terrain, and easy to get to. Go. Enjoy.
M. K.
One of my favourite place to run in the weekends
E. R.
Hi, nice place for pictures, super 👍
O.
I love walking around here. Its so tranquil. It’s great place for walking or cycling alone, with family or friends. The paths are pretty clear and wide too. If you walk around the the you’ll find nature in its beauty and a few seating areas. The ambience is so cosy and cool in the humid summer due to the overarching trees.
a. l.
Big park with a variety of landscapes, from fields and lakes to forest and even London skyline in the background. Enjoyable family and sports atmosphere on a Saturday morning and surrounded by lovely residential areas.
G. M. A.
Hampstead Heath is a lovely peaceful place to walk in. I had to Film there for two days for a school project and it was really easy to not be in anyone’s way as it very open. The sounds of birds and nature here is really nice; there is also a playground for your kids but I am not sure if it is open anymore. They’re are a lot of dogs being walked here so it is great for dog walking as well as a general day out for a picnic. It is a wonderful place and I recommend you to visit.
S. W.
Great day out. There is a lot of signs saying not to cycle so it was a shame I had to walk my bike most places but it was really pretty and parliament hill us great this time of year. This is going to be a regular visit for me and the little zoo was really plesent. The lemurs came right up to the fence and all animals seem to be loving the weather. More refreshment places would be nice though!
A. D.
A magnificent park in the city.
Perfect for long walks all year round.
It’s safe too - there aren’t many unsavoury people around.
There’s also a ladies and gents swimming pond.
A children’s play area.
I visit as often as possible.
M. T.
Beautiful area to explore! We did the longest walk trail, that takes about 4h and went around the whole park - from Parliament hill till Golders Hill park. There very different areas to explore - forests, fields, historical buildings, animal enclosure + it is a good exercise! There are few cafes all around to have a break and snacks.
T. H.
Best place for a decent walk outdoors in London, difficult to get too lost, well worth a walk upto Kenwood House. You'll recognise several places which have been used in films and BBC productions etc...
F. D. (. M. E.
My favourite park in London. Feels more like a Wood than a city park. Lots of walks, landscapes, meadows, water features, ancient trees and grass fields. 3 (yes three) open air swimming ponds, 1 swimming pool, a proper olympic size running track, 2 or 3 cafes and some heritage buildings, like Kenwood House. I am sure I am forgetting something. Your dog will love it
A. H.
A grey blowy day after some rainfall which left some pathways muddy but never the less a most enjoyable walk in the countryside with far reaching views over the city.Kenwood house was closed to the public but seemed to be well maintained. There was a pleasant little tearoom which was quite popular and served a variety of snacks and a good cup of coffee and onsite toilets.
There was also an outside eating area for those brave souls who didnt mind being exposed to the weather.
S. X.
Unbelievably beautiful area and breathtaking views. Perfect for a stroll. Huge picnic area but not full of people. Toilet and coffee available on the site. Amazing views over London skyline. Nature there was stunning. I recommend not to miss this lovely spot on the London's map.
J. C.
One of the most beautiful parks in London. It’s hard to call it a park as inside it feels like you’re in an actual forest, great views, especially from parliament hill, and from the back of the park, the foliage and nature around are really relaxing and it’s an all out amazing place to go to.
n.
Very beautiful park, relaxing, with mini lake, and forest like feeling. There's a nice cafeteria, they serve breakfast and lunch and all kinds of snacks. Plenty of amazing 🐕s💙 around and lovely people and fresh air.
S. A.
Lovely and huge park with several swimming and non swimming ponds. This park can be enjoyed all year round, be it during summer by sunbathing and having a picnic in front of a lake or during colder seasons, where you can have long walks and enjoy the fresh air.
If you’re into birds, there are plenty of lovely ducks scattered along the park.
If you’re into farmer’s markets, there’s a pretty good one held on Saturday mornings.
Z. C.
A mini zoo, playground, tiny lakes, tennis courts and a beautiful place to walk through. Magical to run your dog and great if you desire a bit of quiet and clean air away from the concrete jungle. Doesn't feel like London at all.
T. B.
Beautiful a view and relaxing !
I. S.
I'm just so lucky to live nearby. It's the best place to go for a walk, a run, to meditate, to play, to walk your dog, to be in contact with nature... And so much more!
k. s.
Nice open areas, nice views good for a stroll with a dog nice lil river there as well very peaceful
k. c.
Climbing up to the hilltop of Hampstead heath when primary school children was back home from school, beautiful posh area with an iconic chimney after a brief downstairs to a school. Reached there from Just Eat Delivery from Swiss cottage cycling up...
P. S. Y. H.
a good place to unwind your busy days. BUT don't wear your good shoes if you want to explore the forest with muddy paths. I walked from the west heath (cross two roads and a small forest) to Kenwood house than to the viewpoint and terminated at Gospel Oak station. It took about 2.5 hr.
J. M.
Great park with excellent view of London, public toilets and an ice creams stand in the weekend.
A. P.
Been here several times, both with friends for picnics and individually for walks. It is such a great place to getaway from the busy roads and shops/restaurants. Any time of the year it is worth a visit (in good weather!) and there are plenty of woodlands, trees and benches, in addition to the Golders Hill Park Zoo and several bathing ponds. On the Parliament Hill Viewpoint, you can see an iconic view of London with all the well-known landmarks.
Kenwood House is located to the north of the Heath and there are plenty of different pathways to walk along. I visited on a crisp November day (between 1 and 4) so a decent time to get the best of the sunlight at this time of year.
I appreciated being able to get out on a Friday afternoon, especially in the current lockdown - it is an ideal afternoon break (2-3 hours is sufficient). I have posted several photos around the area, mostly in the sun :)
M. S.
Here is definitely a big treasure in the centre of the city. You can do walking, exercising, playing with your pet, have a picnic, etc etc. Briefly you can do whatever you want do in the nature. Here is my favourite park in London 👍
G. M.
Located in North West London this park provides perfect opportunity to escape from the city's hustle. There is plenty of history to discover there as well as beautiful scenery.
J. W.
There's so much to explore on the heath, from the ponds where you can swim, up to Kenwood house, and the heath extension for walks. Recommended for nature lovers and any Londoner who needs a break from the concrete of the city. There are also fabulous views across the city.
e. r.
out of every area ive been to in london, this is my favourite. beautiful scenery, the town is so lovely. i highly highly recommend visiting! absolutely gorgeous
D. S.
This is such a magical place. So beautiful and so peaceful. Was surprisingly quiet when we visited. Had a lovely romantic walk around and took in all the nature and sights. Would highly recommend to anyone who just wants to escape the busy city. Car park was a bit pricey.
M.
As the name! It's a well maintained heath. One of the highest points in London. If you came to read the reviews, experience of others and searching for a feel good times, a day out chilling, relaxing then you're at the right place. :-) one of the best parks for all ages, your doggos and puppers as well. This is a paradise. Take your family, you'll enjoy each minute here. Located near gospel oak overground station, adjacent to highgate cemetery. Must visit locations if you're a tourist. This park is open 24x7. The park gives a countryside experience and ambience. Includes an athletics track, an education centre, three swimming ponds children's facilities, a Lido, includes Parliament Hill & Golders Hill Park. Best time to visit is 07.00 to 11.00 & 15.00 to 23.00. A good place for activities and sports, used by walkers, runners, swimmers and kite-flyers. The basic amenities are quite down, mostly untidy. I couldn't find a good restroom / toilet inside the premises though. There are many benches so after a walk uphill anyone can take a break. You'll never regret coming here. I wrote this review after i visited here for the third time. Thanks for your valuable time reading. Cheers

Great spot for a afternoon walk away from the city with good vantage points for a great view across London.
C. B. H.
Beautiful lovely place for Fams in fact everyone!.. People are friendly and dogs are usually well trained - even off their leads!
C. B.
Historic wild parklands and woods so close to London in the beautiful setting of Hampstead. Love this place for its unique location, history setting. It's just inspires happiness on a summers day and still beautiful whatever the weather. Well worth a visit and perhaps a picnic.
C. C.
A beautiful place to take family & friends, stunning grounds. At the moment you have to dine outside, that's alright but it was raining and cold.
d. s.
This place is a interesting part of nature and quiet aria to have a walk in London .
The park is huge, you can even find a small zoo and a restaurant/ pub.
S.
Wonderful green space to escape for a walk, swim or a cycle, or even a horse ride if you have one, it caters for all levels of walkers as you can stick to the paths or go a little "off trail". There is a nice cafe near parliament hill. The toilets for the public could do with a refurbishment- but are available to use near the cafe.
P. P.
A lovely place to spend time with friends for walking, picnics, running, cycling paths, photography, lake swimming, kite flying and playground for kids. There are two restaurants, one at Kenwood House and the other at the south end of the heath. Packed on weekends summer and winter.
R. F. C.
Absolutely great. It's got natural swimming pool for men/for women and for both.
It's well know among the gay community, but attracts all other sorts of audience, just depends on the time you choose to visit the park.
R. H.
This park is one of my favourite running spots. Various terrain, beautiful nature and breathtaking views. The best time to come there is around 9ish morning in the summer, when is not that many people there and you can hear chirping crickets and smell fresh grass.
B. T.
Such a beautiful and peaceful location in North London. If you want to escape to the rural and have fresh greenery around you this is the place to go. It's an amazing walk, great open fields, fresh air. Beautiful ponds around, and also great for dog walkers too. Kenwood House is a beautiful landmark set on beautiful grounds. On the flipside if you love big mansions, you also have Bishops Ave, known as millionaires row.
If you wander into Hampstead Heath itself, it's got some great pubs and little cafes to sit in at too. Highly recommended.
I. 1.
I just can't get enough of this place! Every time I discover a new beautiful spot, it's perfect for wandering around, a hike, a picnic or just sunbathing. My favourite parks of London and one of the few that do not get too crowded even on the sunniest days.
T. T. R.
The most beautiful greenery in London. One of the must visit places for tourists. Walking trails, picnic, dog walking and many more activities you may enjoy in the Heath.
M. H.
Beautiful gem in North London. Highly reccomend especially when the sun is out! The area surrounding it is really cool too. Worth spending a whole day there.
M. R.
Beautiful area with lots to see & discover, some enclosed animals like deers and birds. And a great playground with sandpit. Good family environment here.
S. M.
Most wonderful park in London. Big and spacious, makes you forget you’re in busy London.
J. D.
One of my favourite places in London. Even on a very busy day you can still find the quiet spot to enjoy the nature.
P. A.
Excellent park and a great spot for a picnic but it does get busy if the weather is nice.
I. K.
Huge park with plenty of footpaths, paradise for dog owners. As a members of English Heritage, we didn't pay hefthy £ 7 for parking.
S. A.
Wonderful park and well kept in a beautiful area with picturesque views of London
A criticism would be that it is just slightly difficult to navigate as no clear signing within the path.
I Would recommend visiting the ponds and walking right to the summit to see the views.
The Local facilities are close for refreshments, picnics etc.
To cycle through it’s a bit restricted as only a few paths allow cyclists but plenty of paths for pedestrians.
C. J.
Enjoyable early morning walks...it's so beautiful!
H. L.
A great escape from the busyness of London. Great for hiking, running or simply just walking. The adjacent Golders Hill has a few animals (deer, donkey, etc) and a playground for children.
J.
Excellent place to visit! Beautiful views from Parliament Hill and lovely grounds.
They have a bathing pool which are very popular in the Summer but well worth the wait.
I visited the Pergola - a hidden gem and a great photo opportunity. You will find the location is often used for wedding photos.
There were a few photographers when I was there.
Wear comfortable shoes if you want to explore the different attractions as they are not close to each other.
R. H.
Lovely place for a family picnic, although gets quite busy when the sunshines out.
J. T.
Very enjoyable green spot. Go, make a picnic and enjoy. People go to swim in summer, there are a few lakes. If you have time, I recommend you yo visit Kenwood House, on the northern boundary of Hampstead Heath, which is a very interesting former stately house, entrance is free.
A. P.
If you're in the mood for a huge green space, then look no further than Hampstead Heath. With the Kenwood House estate within it, the rose garden, the swimming ponds..it's a beautiful space with wooded and meadow areas. Perfect for picnics, a leisurely stroll, walking the dogs, or exercising.
D. T.
Beautiful park and one of the biggest in London. It holds the highest point of London. There is also a small zoo and a deer enclosure on the Golders Green entrance side. Can easily spend a whole day here just walking.
R. R.
Kenwood house is a place to visit and the gardens are spectacular this time of year the colours are amazing.
P. D.
This district is in north London and provides on Parliament Hill a spectacular view of London. There is a lovely park on which sits the hill.
The atmosphere is quite different in Hampstead Heath from central London and is worth the visit. As you can see, we had blue skies.
A. S.
Lovely views throughout London. I loved the area "one climb from the top:" it wasn't as high up, but I found it much quieter with vertually the same views as the top, but no people picnicking or collecting around the sign post pointing out what is on the horizon.
R. R. a. a.
Amazing, its such a big space an great for both the dogs an family walks. A pond with ducks along with a garden space then aload of green. Worth a visit
Allseasonzstore.com
C. V.
Beautiful park! Amazing for kids and adults... Great to go for a walk with dogs.
J. L.
Have a dip in the ponds. I wasn't keen to start but it is an experience, all worries and concerns seem to just disappear.
I have not tried the mixed ponds yet, only the men's.
J. S.
Amazing park in london, huge open space with cafes, playgrounds, views of london, lido, tennis courts, sunday market.
R. G.
Beautiful park and amazing view on the city. A bit complicated access as you need to walk quite a lot from the Tube station, but worth it and Hampstead Village itself is really nice, so the walk was pleasant.
After you visit there, you'll recognize this place in almost every movie which takes place in London.
I was there in January and it was less impressive, must be really fun to come there in summer and in a sunny weather.
E. P.
Very nice and clean Park. Beautiful weather and nice lakesides.
A. J.
Beautiful, you forget that you are in London. Very well maintained massive park with loads of spots to hang out and relax. Definitely a must if you enjoy the outdoors
V.
One of my favourite parks, there's always a new part to explore! You can have a lovely view over the London Skyline, relax in countless fields, or wander in endless forests. In summer the bathing pools are well worth a visit too, only a couple of pounds to enter.
M. A.
My favourite park in London. Worth walking all along. Magical corners, amazing trees and so much green. You can feel away from london when you want to scape from the city life and get immerse in hampstead
L. K.
One of the best spots in North London. Good for nice walks, photography and many other things. Always good to be here.
N.
Hugeeeeeee park with lots of different pockets that are fun to explore on a nice sunny day
K. B.
Great free athletics event, worth the effort to go. Weather on evening fantastic.
A. D.
One of the best parks in London. Hilly, with lakes, ponds, cafes and restaurants. It has one of the highest viewpoints of London. It’s close to Hampstead village, with loads of coffee places, shops and restaurants. Perfect if you want to do some hard core training. The hills can be quite scary, but the reward of getting to the top is incredible.
T. G.
One of my favourite places in London. It has so much going on for it, beautiful upkeep, available swimming areas with lifeguards, and a feeling of being close to nature.
J. M. I.
Amazing park, great area north of London city with fantastic homes, architecture, historic buildings and overall nice layed out high street. There’s a come cute small pedestrian avenues off roads with billowing trees, amazing colours in the autumn time. Good pubs & cafe/food around the area. Recommend booking a table for brunch/drink & food in The Holly Bush. Nice weekend lunch stop, nice high up views of the city just around the corner for afterwards.
V. G.
Very beautiful park (well to be honest it is that huge that looks like a forest!) with panoramic view of London. Choose a sunny day and go with your friends, family or even alone and enjoy!
C. M.
The Park in Hempstead Heath is amazing with it's lakes, amazing trees and treelines, Kenwood House, Hill Garden and Pergola and the odd assembly of unannounced Jazz club gathering you could bump into.
R. A.
I had never been to this park before but was amazed with how lovely it was! First off its so massive its a great place to walk your dogs and do activities like football or birthday parties. Also public bathing pools with a seperate one for womans which is very nicely secluded by a natural wall of trees! Very refreshing for the summer heat! Secondly there is a great view of the london skyline at parliament hill peak and even an information board to help you identify which building is which, great little treat! Really feels like youve been transported out of the city and into the country side even though youre just in zone 2!
T. M.
A beautiful natural spot where you can experience a totally different part of the city. The ponds are great to swim during summer and you can explore the green woods easily and safely any time of the year.
O. L.
Very nice place to visit in the summer with friends. Beautiful views or London from kite hill too. There are ponds at the bottom with ducks and aquatic birds swimming around. Quite relaxing to visit on a day off work.
L. K.
This is a really nice part of London. You can park nearby in a car park and walk in the park. The high street has some nice coffee shops and tea rooms and a few nice pubs. It's a good spot to go for Sunday stroll and lunch particularly if you want to see some greenery whilst not heading out of London.
E. H.
What's not to love. Peaceful, fantastic scenery and an amazing atmosphere. Great for walking dogs, picnic or just for me time.
D. W.
We love it up the Heath. The dog more so. Lovely regular walk.
M.
Hampstead Heath is my most visited park. Pond swimming, outdoor training, hills to climb, forest to explore, what's not to like.
M. P.
Really nice place to spend some time out of the city life. Peaceful area full of animals. Enjoyed even the lake pool with 4 degrees. Highly recommended for nice weekend afternoon.
J. M.
Varied walks, flat and hilly, wooded and open. Even when busy you can socially distance. Beautiful open space in London.
K. B.
Lovely walk through either rough terrain or the more civilised one 😜, meaning clean paths.
It combines a good place to have a picnic or a good jog.
Loved it! I relaxed and it provides a good vibe to start or finish your working week..
D. F.
One of the best places in London to get outside and enjoy nature. Perfect place to do some sports, relax and have a picnic, a romantic walk or just wander around and take in the sights. There are many ponds and a lot of birds. In some of the ponds you can even swim.
M.
one of the most beautiful places I know ❤
P. M.
One of London's best parks, if not the best. I've been coming here to walk my dog for over 10 years and haven't become bored of it - it's a great place to escape the noise and bustle of the city. The views from Parliament hill stretch all the way from Canary Wharf in the East to the BT Tower in the West. The park lies between Hampstead, Highgate and Gospel Oak, with facilities including a running track (Parliament Hill), swimming ponds and restaurants (including Spaniard's Inn, Golder's Hill café and Kenwood House). Highly worth a visit, and very dog-friendly.
J. S.
One of the most memorable place in London as my fiance proposed here. I love the hilly terrain, lush greenery and several bathing ponds. It can get a bit crowded during weekend but still a great place to have a picnic and stroll.
C. D.
Christ on a bike, this place is a stunner
C. B.
Every time I come here I fall in love with this place all over again, the birds, the whistling wind in the leaves, feeling like you're lost deep in a forest, the flower gardens, the views... it's a totally different experience of London
S. R.
One of the most difficult bike rides I’ve done. It has the highest point of land in London, with city view. Getting there was very steep and difficult. Impossible to ride there in one go and not stop. Coming back down was very rewarding indeed!
s. s.
one of the best parks in London amazing view and the park is like a huge garden with lots of flowers nice paths to walk arround and you can find specialty coffee and handmade pastries and snack in Marios coffee kiosk at kenwood house which does amazing job!
م. ب. س. آ. م.
Quite and well maintained park. A bit of everything for everybody : a small collection of animals, great kids games and nice flower garden in the corner. The visitors were - for some reason and our great luck - a mix of very individuals with many age groups.
P. C.
It's a beautiful large hilly park with wild areas and walking paths as well as numerous places to play and relax on the grass and there are secluded pools to swim in for the brave amongst you. Separate outdoor pools for ladies and gents and a mixed pool. A word of warning! They are ponds not modern swimming pools and I'm not sure that the bottoms are tiled. Probably mud, but I've never been in them. If you want to swim outdoors all year round go to Hampton Court Palace. It's heated and open every single day of the year. Check during Covid. It's very warm.
K. B.
One of my favourite parks in London. Huge. Gets very muddy during autumn/winter so make sure you are wearing suitable attire. Perfect for dog walking though I recommend keeping your dog on a leash if it's recall isn't so good or use a tracking device as this place is heaven for your furry friend.
P. V.
One of the best views in London, a lido, swimming ponds and 320 hectares of grassy public space.
Hampstead Heath is definitely one of London's best parks with its rolling woodlands and meadows it feels like a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
S. G.
One of London's largest parks with lots of hilly areas, ponds and walking paths. Parliament hill is a great spot to stop at and take in the view of London. Definitely worth checking out the Pergola if you make it there.
G. R.
Really big park with a nice view fromim the top. We got there cycling. The are is a bit hilly, and because of that it's a bit hard to cycle there. Also, buy something on the way because there is nothing up there on the park to buy something like water, beer or snacks. To find a toilet is also a problem, and don't remember finding a toilet there easily. It's some of the prettiest and biggest park in London.
F. M.
We had a super time at the National Cross Country Championships yesterday. The park was beautifully kept and has a super feel to it, together with a wonderful view over London. Thank you.
S.
One of the best gigantic in London it looks like ur on holiday in the middle of nature and you can also book one of the 3 ponds for a swim!
B.
Don’t waste a spring, summer or autumn without a trip to this wonderful place. It’s the most peaceful park in london at times, so much to explore and enjoy.
M. H. (. P.
Great park with fantastic views across London, nice long walks, a huge space to enjoy that never feels crowded!
D. H.
Lots to explore. And great for kids to run around and climb. More natural than the other parks, with lots of wooded areas.
e.
Great park for a long walk. Bit busy at weekends
Y. N.
Beautiful park for a run in the summer. The public pools have shower and towels if you dare to take a dip. Do take some coins with you, and they take 2 pounds for the services and only cash.
M. E.
One of my favourite parks in London. Parliament Hill offers incredible sights of the city and the village.
T. L.
Enchanted woods. Lovely walk in the gardens. Very nice Cafe to complement. One of my favorite spots in London.
L.
This park is amazing. It is not as big as the other parks in London but it is surrounded by dense woods and the local area is not very busy. When you are inside the park there is a complete feeling of isolation from the urban area, super relaxing and chill if you want to take a break to read a book.
The main building inside the park is beautiful and worth checking out, it is also free to go inside so don't miss the chance.
J. L.
It's a great place to get away! Very nice gardens, lakes; best time to go is when the Magnolia Blossom is out
My first time going to Hampstead Heath
J. R.
In wildwood we built a shelter in the extension we had a rest then toga to golders hill park to see the wallaby babies..
A. H.
Hampstead Heath is a gem. A good walk in stunning scenery and a coffee, all in the heart of London.
t. S. t. H.
I love this place!
Is one of my favourite park in London!
You can enjoy nature... you have everything here...
silence, park, small zoo, space, forest...
You can smell the freedom...
One 💯 % worth to see!
A. K.
One of the best parks in London, great variety as spaces which offer panoramic London views, sport amenities swimming ponds and sparse sitting spaces. Visit kenwood house at the top!
A. B.
A very interesting wooded space just north of central London. Much more wildnerness than other central London parks, and even on a summer Sunday you can find enough privacy if you take the less-beaten path. The meadows in and around Kenwood House are great, and only a short walk away you can find the Kenwood estate forest. It really does feel like you’re in the woods and it’s easy to forget sometimes that you’re in the middle of a city. Find a quiet spot and reflect, chill or just soak in the sunshine. And oh, don’t miss the view from Parliament Hill. One of the best in London.
R. B.
Idyllic part of London
One of the best rambling spaces and well worth the walk up to Kenwood house
Can get a bit treacherous in the Winter but during the other seasons is glorious
The view across London is spectacular just mind where you walk as a small percentage of dog owners do not clean up after them
A. v. d. K.
Beautiful. feels more like a little slice of real countryside than just a Heath. One of the best features of London in my opinion! Definitely worth a visit especially on a sunny day.
F. R.
Hands down the best park in London Zones 1/2.
C. N.
Walking in the woods near the mixed pond then on to parliament Hill and the men's pond, cold and beautiful
A. L.
Huge park with lakes and rolling hills. When you are deep inside this park you can't see the city. Its a place to relax and reconnect with nature. You are also allowed to swim in the lakes, there is a men's pond and a womens pond too. In my opinion, its London's best park, Hampstead (obviously), southend green and Highgate all surround it.
E. S. P.
One of the most stunning open areas in London! Beautiful, green space, ideal for a romantic walk or a nice picnic with family or friends. The view from the top of the area is breathtaking: you will see at a glance London in its entirety! Definitely recommended!
R. R.
Great well-kept spacious park. From Hamsted Park Hill you can see great views of London.
M. E.
If you are a local or even if you are coming for a visit , you are in for a treat , especially if the weather is nice i.e on a sunny day .
It is one of the massive parks , some parts could even be close to a small forest, you will see kids playing, lakes , ducks , pigeons, there also a place for swimming in the summer , the view from the top is very panoramic of London , always a pleasure walking there and relaxing on the grass
M. S.
One of my favourite spots in London. Perfect place to go for a long walk. Great if you have a dog or just want to go dog spotting. Such a nice big open space, you can always discover new parts of it.
G. M.
Massive park for all kinds of things! It has swimming ponds, men, ladies and mixed. A lido. Running track, kids playground and paddling pool. Cafe and Kenwood house with cafe and lots of art. Fishing ponds, green area for toddlers. Can't beat it when the sun's shining, gets busy when it is though but it's so big you'd easily find a quite spot.
G. R.
Great views. Good for walks and dogs.
R. V.
Very crowded at the weekends but its understandible.. the best bakeries, coffee shops and restaurants on a small station surrounding.. there is a small alliway of antiques too..
o.
The heath is a lovely way to have a bit of a refresh from the hectic city of London, and a very nice place to spend some time with the family. If you have a camera, make sure to bring it with you because there will definitely be some nice photography opportunities.
Just bare in mind that the heath is full of plants so for those who suffer from hay fever(I suffer from it quite a lot at this time of year) you should take an anti allergy pill or something before you go.
T. D. o. W.
Amazing gardens. Can't believe it's free. Go on a week day if you want to escape the city.
S. P.
Such green lush! Amazing for a good walk.. you can easily spend the whole day exploring it and not get bored with the views..
l. e.
North London at its finest, head for a long woodland stroll and visit Kenwood House free of change and see a Rembrant amongst the beautiful public home. Get over to the cafe for a coffee and cake.
R. V.
We played at Parliament hill cricket pitch.the ground and square is secluded to play proper cricket. The wicket needs proper rolling though it's uncovered and playable. The ground needs to also have some flattening required as it's uneven
D. D.
Fantastic place to come for a walk or jog, either with family or friends or pets. Can see a nice view of central London from here.... There's a pond to swim also...
D. D.
Very nice neighbourhood. Loads of coffee shops. Fruit and veg open market right next to the rail station.
A. R.
Great neighbourhood park and green space for everyone - the vastness and beauty of this park makes it a wonderful and revealing experience each time one visits. Wish there was more sunshine in the UK to soak up more of this beautiful park but it's also equally as beautiful in the winter - especially when/and if we're lucky enough that it snows! 🤩
O. A.
Beautiful large park which makes you forget you're in London. Great for picnics and sunbathing, also you can go for a dip in the natural bathing ponds and swim with the ducks.
M. A. B. J.
One of the best open spaces in London. Nice for a walk or even chilling in the middle of nature.
M. A.
One of the nicest country walks you’ll ever have in a city . Ever changing with the seasons , always delivers , amazing concerts at kenwood house , surrounded by pubs , and if you walk far enough , breathtaking views ocrr London
C. L.
Very nice park, even mini zoo available. I do recommend!
M. L.
Big green lungs in the middle of the concrete jungle. A jam: a little bit outside of the park there is a “mini forest”, no grass but huge trees, perfect for walking with you dog
H. W.
Fabulous place to walk and relax and just 5 miles from central London.
We are blessed.
A. J.
This is an incredible path to stroll through. If in the area, this is a must visit
A. S.
Brilliant Park for long walks, long runs, picnics, time with family, friends. Many spots to do some sport activities and really nice views.
Z. T.
Beautiful park with beautiful surroundings, backs onto golders green park which has a cute mini zoo. If you get a chance to go to Hampstead heath look for the plantation gardens, they're stunning!
A.
This is my favorite park. The best place so far. Beuatiful green areas, flowers and mini zoo. Perfect for a walk, picnic or a date.
T. C.
Super nice park. Very clean and well kept. A lot of open spaces and great for frisbee or football.
There are plenty of places to explore as there are tons of trees and fields to walk around.
There's also a really nice view of london.
A. M.
Pretty large park to walk around and enjoy the views. There is a viewpoint in the middle of the park where you can supposedly see the London cityline, but trees may block some of the views. It is atop a small hill so expect a bit of a hike.
To the east of the park are some bathing ponds that you can swim in for cheap. If you would like some cleaner swims, there is the Parliament Hill Lido south of the park.
J. B.
A forest in a bug city. Beautiful park day and night. Good on a hot summer day for a swim and on a starry night for skygazingoo
S. H.
What's not to love about the wonderful Heath...
A lot of room outdoors for both dogs, families and Walters and joggers. I really likes The quietness.
I. M.
Great open space but view from the top needs a bit of fine tuning as canopy is getting rather high and let's be honest the view is a big draw. If you are near the Swans with children look out for the rats near the Swans nesting site
H. B.
What a wonderful place. The lovely Kenwood House, tea rooms, lakes, swimming lakes, magical trails through the trees and over bridges and a fantastic view of London. Definitely worth a visit.
A. M.
I live in NW3 and I don't think I've walked every path through the Heath. It's such a colossal space, gorgeous in spring and summer and breathtaking in autumn and winter. It's never deserted but one can still visit there alone and feel like they're the only person on earth. It's so tranquil, so peaceful, and is divide beautifully into areas best loved by dogs, for swimming, and for sports. It's perfect for a picnic, spectacular for a summer saunter, and incredible for awakening the senses when wandering amongst the trees in the rain. Hampstead would not be the same without it!
Z. S.
Stunning park with woods, grass, ponds
J. W.
Lovely open space for running, dog walking and simple enjoyment of nature.
G. B.
Nice park for wild life and nice view of the city. Gets quite crowded. Sometimes there could be unfortunate encounters with shady characters
M. A.
Beautiful park. A good walk around the park took me and my wife an hour. We finished on parliament hill which offers a great view of the city.
S.
Amazing park with beautiful views and places for relax exercises and picnic. 😊 😊
C. D.
Nice and quiet park, well equipped play area, impressing paddling pool. Unfortunately, I haven't seen any exercises facilities installed in the park, that's the reason for the missing star. I'm not sure if I didn't see them just because I didn't cover all the area as the park is pretty vast.
C. D.
Really great to swim, it gets super busy on a hot day so go early and expect to wait, we wait 45mins but very worth it, lovely memorable experience, not for young kids though as you need to be a good swimmer. There is changing rooms and toilets but no lockers so don't take to much valuable stuff, nothing was taken but always a worry when your leaving stuff alone. Really really great time, and so refreshing
k.
Great place for long walk meet your friends .
I. D.
My favourite park in London, without a doubt! It has the wildness and the beauty of a forest, and the social element of people who loves nature. So you can choose to be on your own enjoying the wild or walk a few minutes to encounter groups of people enjoying picnics. It has stunning lakes, for people and for only dogs! A perfect space to spend a whole day.
e. g.
Hill walking in London ! Who'd have thought it.
And wild swimming ! And a women only lake ! Can it get any better.
N. H.
Excellent quiet space in North London. Great views interesting little nooks and places to visit. Kenwood House close by also worth a visit
S. E.
Great, beautiful and quiet place to relax.
Y. B.
We have a forest in London. It's a place of discoveries because there's a lot you can do in the park. I am loving my experience.
C. V.
Beautiful, big and less touristic park outside the center of London, ideal for a picknick or walk. It has beautiful ponds you can swim in and a breathtaking castle which is definitely worth a visit.
C. P.
Beautiful place, amazing view. Perfect for a walk, a picnic or just sit-down and relax. Great for families and dogs.
K. B.
Heaven on earth is the view from Parliament Hill as the sunsets in the west and casts it dying rays on the City to the south east and Highgate to the north east. Absolutely breathtaking. Please keep this a secret between us !
f.
Great areas for swimming running picnics in the summer or just having a walk with the family
M. M.
Wonderful place for everyone. Large spaces. If you get tired of buildings and feel you need fresh air and space then this is the where you want to be.
I.
Best park in London? Stunning views, cold water swimming if you like that sort of thing, although now you have to pay and book in advance which is annoying.
R. H.
One of the gems of London - space for walkers and cyclists, plenty of places to sit and relax, good views and and perfect place to escape. Kenwood House in the north, plenty of green spaces and woodland - some swimming areas, great wildlife....it is all there
C. J.
Lovely gardens and water feature. We went at the end of summer and it was still very beautiful. The park is kept in pristine condition, very safe and nice to go to.
E. S.
We walk through the park at least once a week. Plenty of people and dogs around but also easy to find a quite place where you can enjoy a glass of wine while looking at the city skyline.
S. N.
Children's play area .pond's where they're is some ducks.lovely Park to enjoy any time of year
B. P.
Lovely large park - great for walking, and the closest you get to country in central London
L. S.
One of my favourite parks!
L. M.
Love this place but alot of dogs off leads which has been bothering the little toddler trying to go for a walk.
N. J.
Great place to escape the city without leaving London. Fantastic walk and great views. Fresh air for those who just need a breather!
A. B.
From the views to the space, no other park in London will make you feel as lost in the countryside as Hampstead Heath. An incredible place to bring, friends, family, kids and grandparents. Cannot praise highly enough.
T. G.
Try parking for free on one of the side roads, be careful of yellow lines ofcourse! But I find you can park a couple roads away for free normally. Walk into Hampstead Heath town and see the many coffee shops and brunch places on offer. Makes for a great day out in leafy London suburbs and great park.
I. G.
Fantastic park a green oasis in the hart of the concrete jungle, sunny and nice day full of green trees and grass, natural water swimming pools
C. O.
Great place to get away from it all on a weekday. Pretty crowded on weekends. Great for dog owners and open water swimmers. The view from Parliament Hill is worth the climb
I. H.
It is a wonderful park, it is more natural than some other parks in London. In some parts of the park it is hard to find your way between the branches and threes. If you are more into natural life of plants, it should be on the top of your places-to-visit.
H. C.
My favourite park! Gorgeous! There is a few places, like Kenwood House and Pergola, which everyone has to visit!
R. C. L. (.
Simply one of our favourite places in London for weekend walks or why not tea and cake at the Kenwood house cafe. It's big but well maintained. The surrounding area is also very nice, you don't need to go through some dodgy neighborhood to get there (sadly, this is the case with other parks).
R. H.
Much bigger than I had anticipated and a really nice place to go! Especially on a sunny day!
N. W.
Amazing for sunny weather, the park itself is huge, great for long relaxing walk!
G. C.
I love walking on the Heath. You can stroll about. Watch the birds on the ponds or even see kestrels after voles and field mice. Great place to picnic and let your worries drift off with the clouds. That is if you didn't leave them where you stepped onto the Heath.
K. M.
This place is absolutely beaultiful! The cafe is really nice and they have good outdoor seating. The place is perfect for picnics and the walk around is lovely. I would definitely recommend this place for a gathering of groups as its spacious too. There were a lot of people on the day I went but even then you could be social distancing.
I didn't go in the Kenwood house so this is just based on the park and surrounding area. Parking is just outside too and easy to find depending on the time of the day you go.
M. N.
If you want to forget that you are in London...visit Hampstead Heath...you can see beautiful panoramic views of London and then immerse yourself in the forest...
D. L.
Wonderful oasis of tranquillity and nature in the heart of north London. Always a pleasant stroll and I hear George Michael was a big fan of the lavatories.
F. S.
The park & gardens in the vicinity of Kenwood ate beautiful. Also, its lovely to walk here with family & friends. There is also a cafe here but it is not fully open yet.
M. A.
so beautiful and relaxing, we took our dog for a long walk, love hampstead heath.
J. B.
Lovely area some good walking to be had in this place. But i wish they would bring back the big green bins they took away during lock down 🙄.
T. A.
Amazing place for an afternoon walk with family with lakes and birds
M. M.
Is one of the best park for gathering, dog walking, spend times with whoever you love and specially there are lots of restaurants with lots of food options on the street.
J. W.
Great walking, very picturesque, even in December. Great view of London from Parliament Hill
S. R.
Beautiful walks and views. Parking can be a nightmare when the weather is good as there are restrictions in the area. There is a carpark but it gets full very quickly. Make sure you visit parliament hill.
G. W.
++good for Badger-spotting. Less so if its beaver you're looking for.
And please be one of the good guys and pick up any litter.
W. C.
Went back down to memory lane. When carrying my twins who are now 40 years young. I would have lunch up here and it was wonderful then and now. Never over crowded as the place is vast. People from every nation and every type of food in surrounding area and drinks galore@!@! 🍸 Great for dogs 🐕 who are catered for also, with out side seating should you have a dog. Plenty of seating upon the green areas for mature or people of disability. Ponds and the lake filled with wild life Great for the children or little ones. Close to the stations for good access. 👍 Wonderful, pleasant atmosphere. Pack a picnic bag or not and go check it out. Lots of local places to find what you require to eat or drink before you enter Hampstead Heath itself. Great for exercise and power walking with lots of different terrain if you are in training. Be prepared and enjoy!@!@!
A.
Incredible beautiful huge park in the heart of North London. Great views of the whole city. Awesome place for a long walk or run.
M. B.
Beautiful place in North of London! The park is beautiful and there's panomaric view from Parliament Hill. Can't be missed
V. N.
Great place for a swim in nature. Really nice to swim in non-chlorinated water for a change. Only over 16's allowed in most of the ponds, there are male/female only ponds and one that is mixed. Friendly atmosphere, pretty dated changing rooms (sheds), and a few very cold open showers.
Water not as cold as you think, most people quickly acclimatise to it.
P. W.
Great to walk and relax in so much wooded greenery.
S.
Soooo amazing to have this huge and wonderful place to enjoy, in the middle of busy and crowded London.
J. J.
It was a wonderful sunny day and we didn't have time to see it all. We took a train to Gospel Oak and stayed around Parliament Hills. There's are great panoramic views of London from the top of the hill. Thoroughly enjoyable.
c. B.
.felt like we went on holiday .far away from the noise and busy city. Great for kids .
j. c.
Lovely place to walk
S. G. C.
Hampstead Heath is found in the omonymus borough of North London. The park is just about 20 minutes from the chaos of the city center by tube (Hampstead, Northern Line). Nearby you can also take a look at the Fenton House, Kenwood House, the St John's Church (John Constable rests in the churchyard), Jack Straws Castle, Spaniards Inn or walk along the picturesque Well Walk and Flask Walk.
C. C.
Beautiful escape from London city! This park is very crowed with good weather as everyone is here for a picnic with friends. From the bravest, there is also the possibility to swim in a small lido between seaweed and grass. From the top of the little hill, there's a spectacular view of the city (see photo).
s. n. u.
Amazing park. My dog love so much.
g.
Simply wonderful day at Hamp. Heath! Picnic atmosphere everywhere you look..despite the pandemic. No virus in the open, fresh air!
K. S.
Lovely outdoor place to visit
Á. C.
Perfect family time out with all age. Forest, adventure, animals playground and little secret grardens and ponds all around.
M. F.
Loved walking through this beautiful park where every turn of the path brings a different spectacular view.
B. S.
Great open spaces that offer beautiful views of east, central and west London. Plenty of space to get lost in or to enjoy a picnic with friends.
W. R. (.
Hampstead Heath is a huge park with plenty of space. It is quite hilly, which means there are nice views on the north side of the park. If you don’t like walking up a big hill, then I would recommend entering on that side of the park.
D. W.
A lovely socially distanced walk and beautiful view
E. D.
I enjoy long walks in Hamsted Garden Suburbs. Such a lovely village
T. H.
Wonderful outdoor space with many places to explore. keep your bearings, it is big and easy to get lost. Stick to the paths on your first visits!
F. M.
One of the best parks in London, deffo worth a visit
Ö. F. Y.
Massive park with lots of beautiful views. Parliament Hill is one of them and definitely a must see. There is a lake in the park and its view is also really awesome. You cant explore all places in this park in one day so its worth coming here more than once to see every beauty in it.
S. M.
beautiful park, so much space, lovely
E. O.
Lovely park with lovely views and lovely lakes. If I had to sum up this park in one word: lovely.
Excellent for people who like dogs and people who walk dogs as well!
V. P.
Beautiful park with stunning views. Can get muddy but it's worth the effort.
C. B.
Nice park, decent size for London. Nice water features and is home to Primrose Hill from which you can see majority of London. (Bit of a tourist hotspot). Has one car park inside the park, and others dotted nearby - they’re a little expensive but standard I guess
j. b.
Tranquil, wide open spaces, beautiful lake with Heron, Coots etc plenty of space for families to picnic and fir digs to run about. Also used for Music and concerts Amazing!
A. M.
Such a beautiful park and a huge Parkrun. Peaceful with lots of opportunity to find an isolated spot. Definitely a new favourite.
D. B.
Very nice place
P. P.
A lovely place to spend time with friends for walking, picnics, running, cycling paths, photography, lake swimming, kite flying and playground for kids. There are two restaurants, one at Kenwood House and the other at the south end of the heath. Packed on weekends summer and winter.
K. P.
Huge open space, countryside in the city.
F. U.
Excellent place to shop and relax. Impressive galleries where you can pick up original arts. Best to go by tube because of lots of traffic and road works
R. B.
Idyllic part of London
One of the best rambling spaces and well worth the walk up to Kenwood house
Can get a bit treacherous in the Winter but during the other seasons is glorious …
A. v. d. K.
Beautiful. feels more like a little slice of real countryside than just a Heath. One of the best features of London in my opinion! Definitely worth a visit especially on a sunny day.
l. e.
North London at its finest, head for a long woodland stroll and visit Kenwood House free of change and see a Rembrant amongst the beautiful public home. Get over to the cafe for a coffee and cake.
T. S.
Lovely green space in a busy city
E. M.
Best place in North London for walks and running. Hilly and wild in places. Love, love, love.
g.
Simply wonderful day at Hamp. Heath! Picnic atmosphere everywhere you look..despite the pandemic. No virus in the open, fresh air!
R. H. L. D. a. C.
We work a lot in this area, but we do find time to enjoy the beautiful views from the parks of Hampstead Heath to.
A. L.
This park is a beautiful work of art. When you live in a big city like London you learn to appreciate every green space you have at your fingertips and enjoy it at its best. I don’t remember once when visiting this place to have been disappointed by it. Beautiful park and amazing surroundings where you can have a bite and enjoy a good cup of coffee or tea. Love this place to bits!!!
B. G.
Genuine feeling of the countryside minutes from Central London. Hills, ponds, woods, and it's even got a stately home in Kenwood House.
A. R.
Lovely park, swans are nesting at the moment so be considerate and keep your distance
L. G.
My one of the favourite park in London. Nice place for relaxing.
a.
Wonderful place with a great location featuring views towards London city. Ideal for having picnics as well as doing sports. Lovely various bird species settled within the park area. Highly recommended for anyone who’s looking to get out of a busy town and spend time in a calm peaceful natural atmosphere.
C. L.
Favorite walks ever... peaceful and amazing views!
L. A.
Lovely place to take a walk in nature. Parking a bit of a nightmare though
S. M.
my favourite park in London, so relaxing
M. B.
I love the whole place. Really big place with so many nice spots to relax, have a picnic, play games, exercise or just hang out or go for a walk. Has a small cafe to grab a quick bite. Lots of dogs around so if you are scared of dogs this might not be the place for you. I did an awesome photoshoot here by the pond. There was also a farmers market when I visited during the weekend that had some amazing and fresh products
H. R.
A great day was had, beautiful view of the city. Plenty of trees for shade. Did find it quite hard to find Parliament view but can appreciate there'snot signs everywhere.
J. C.
Beautiful place, very spacious and a nice day out with the family. It was quite crowded on the footpaths seen as we are in lockdown, however, it has lots of open space around for an easy escape. Good views of London would recommend to get out of the house.
S. A.
Lovely Park with a few lakes and nice paths to spend a morning walking. You can also swim in the Lake and do a picnic next to one of the lakes.
J. G.
Beautiful place, it's like be in the forest meanwhile you are inside London. And the views are awesome
S. T.
Lovely grounds to amble! Excellent views!
M. M.
Nice place for a walk
M. J.
Such a good park. Lots of trees grass ponds small zoo and lots of space. Great for dogs exercise picnics tree climbing and improving mental health. Great to see what God has created
C. F.
Beautiful park with grassy hills, old trees and several bathing ponds. In several areas you can really only see large lawns and trees, making it feel quite removed from the busy roads of London just a few minutes away.
Kenwood House is on the Heath and is well worth a visit.
At the other end, Parliament Hill has excellent views south.
L. P.
If you fancy walking in woods, swimming in a pond, this is the place for you!
There's also a "point of view", but I personally think is not as good as people claim. Some others are definitely better
I. G.
Great views of London, all within walking distance of a tube or overground station. Bring a towel and a costume if you fancy a bit of wild swimming.
I. L.
One of my favourite parks in London! It has some breathtaking views as well.
Make sure you have a map of the park as it's huge and you can easily get lost.
D. G.
Really nice place for walking and hiking and chill
F. A.
Wonderful
A. M.
Lovely park to go playing with your dog, walking and running! I believe it is a good place where you can have a picnic when the weather is good.
C. B. H.
Me and my mate love Hampstead as we grew up in this beautiful area!
P. C.
Simply beautiful. Great views and perfect for walking with or without dogs.
A. P.
It's so beautiful. And people walking around are able to do an array of things. It's great to walk the dogs and have picnics as well as have quality time with friends and family. Truly lovely. There's also a nearby cafe or you can indulge in the local area and have nice food.
H. H.
Beautiful garden areas and nice place to relax.
M. W.
One of the nicest city "parks" I've been to. It's a perfect spot to go walk your pooches off leash, go run or even just to get away from the Hustle and Bustle.
L. A.
This park is a gold nugget in London. You will forget that you are actually in London.
I really enjoyed it. You can walked/run in several directions, there is not one straight path to follow. You don't really feel when there is lot of people.
For hot days you can go to the ponds, one for ladies, one for male and one mixed.
You can also go to the extension. You have the Kenwood House when you can visit for free.
J. M. M. S.
Can't beat the natural feel of this park. Get lost in the woods, swim in the public ponds, enjoy the views from Parliament Hill, have an ice cream at Kenwood house, or just relax at this north London gem.
T. A.
Can't say much as I went there on the evening for an open door cinema. But I can say that this is the only place I've seen a firefly after 2 decades. Beautiful night time scenery as you can see central london.
S. S.
One of my favourite places in London. It feels so wild and it's so beautiful.
W. H.
Hampstead Heath is a bit of the great outdoors in the middle of the city. With many features you can spend hours on the Heath exploring, playing or relaxing. I’ve lived near the Heath for nearly 20 years and still find bits I’ve not explored before.
O. M.
Beautiful park in central London
D. L.
Perfect for a nice long walk or a run surrounded by nature. And don't forget to take a look at George Orwell's home at the top of Parliament Hill!
S. L.
Beautiful Autumn walk, just what the Dr ordered.
K. S.
Great for walks, jogs or playing frisbie...nice view at the top of the parliament hill.
K. B. H.
One of the best parks in the city. Perfect for a romantic walk, picnicking, watching the wildlife( wild birds, fishs), walking your dog, running, working out, swimming in the pond, having breakfast in Kenwood house, ..etc great place for creative people.
A. G.
Beautiful way to connect with nature. Lots of wildlife, stunning views and benches to relax. Perfect for a summer picnic.
D. G.
Great tree, but there is a large hole in the middle of it which is very obvious. Surprised management haven't fixed it by now to be honest
L. S.
Absolutely beautiful place to go for a walk or have a dip in the ponds on a hot day. If you want to go for a swim in the pond, I suggest getting down early as it gets so busy after 1pm. The heath surroundings are gorgeous though and well worth the visit. Hamstead itself also has loads of cute coffee shops where you could buy snacks or a picnic before you get to the heath.
J. S.
Late summer in Hampstead heath is such a beautiful time.
Trees are fully in leaf, there are so many people, some having picnics, some walking their dogs, some basking in the warmth of the sun.
Listen carefully and you will hear accents from all over the world, here on the edge of London, the most dynamic city in the world.
L. T.
Nice big park with plenty of amenities
A. S.
Great park for all activities. I take my dog here for socialisation and continue to do so as a treat. There are a lot of dogs around certain parts of the park but it's big enough for families or individuals that may not like dogs!
F. M.
Beautiful place it is a very nice walk. Kids will love it.
R.
My favourite Park in North London. It's huge with loads of wide fields, ponds and little foresty parts. It also obvious has the famous view on the city (breathtaking every time). Because of the size and the fact it's kept more or less natural and a bit wild it actually feels like getting away from the city.
I. E.
Love this place. Kenwood house visit is a must when walking around Hampstead Heath.
G. W.
Beautiful spot for a walk to escape the busy city. Beautiful views at the top.
T. F.
One of the best parks in London. You can spend hours walking around. Some bits get busy but others feel really remote. The view from Parliament hill is ace. As is a visit to Kenwood House.
M. K.
This has to be one of the most underrated London parks of all time. It's surprisingly big, with plenty of scenery and amazing views.
The park connects to other parks so the space seems endless. There is a children's playground near the main entrance and a track nearby too.
There's loads of hiking areas, running trails and bike riding spots too. There's so much you can do, I really don't understand why this park isn't more popular.
If you explore enough, you would find many natural structures that make great photo opportunities. There is also plenty of areas to sit and relax too, like a gazebo and cafe.
Overall, one awesome park with plenty to do for anyone that enjoys outdoors.
D. D.
This green heart is a classic taste of what makes London different to other big cities. Ramble through the woods or picnic in the open grassland. Parliament Hill has great views, Kenwood House for a cup of tea and take an open air swim in the ponds. Heading there in wetter weather will help avoid the busier times.
P. !.
Thisbisba HUGE park and great for walking meeting friends, or getting lost in woods parks. It has almost everything you would expect of a park and is capped by a view of London that is much much better than Primrose Hill.
It's great and can be visited multiple times and not do the same route
D. R.
Hampstead heath is the place I go to to be at one with nature, and consequentially, to be at one with my own nature. A place where I can relax and breath in the healing qualities of the trees, birds and air that brings me back, or reacquaints me, with something deeper in myself, beyond the iron harshness of life in the modern world.
E. F.
Huge park and gardens with lots to do. There are some fantastic views from Parliament Hill. The Pergola and hill garden are beautiful pieces of history. So many beautiful birds and plenty of nature. Natural lakes for outdoor swimming. There is all sorts going on here and it's a beautiful escape from the city, within the city!
M. C.
My favourite park in London. First of all, it’s massive. Have a map or a smart phone with you, unless you enjoy the challenge of finding your way out of the park after getting completely lost in the woods. Good news the park is always open !! There are ponds where you can outdoor swim all year round. There’s a former stately home, Kenwood House, that you can visit. There is also a pretty good view of the London skyline from the highest of the many hills. If you miss the countryside, or you are after a break from tarmac, bricks, and urban density, this park is the perfect destination for a pretend, out of town, wild adventure.
F. V.
This is the best park in London! It has hills, woods, ponds and great views. It is so lovely that there is such a great natural place in the middle of the city. If you have never been to it, grab your best friends, some drinks and snacks on a sunny day and have a great time there! Don't forget to leave everything clean after, of course 😉
S. V.
Beautiful clean and green area!!
C. T.
Get lost on Hampstead Heath - never too difficult to find your way home. A picnic, a flask of tea and, if you’re lucky, a dog and it can be enjoyed and explored from dawn to dusk. I love the range of landscapes, from deep beech woods to open wild flower meadow. Bring wellies when it’s wet though… there’s lots of mud.
M. Y.
One of my favourite places. To think that just a short way away from the central London you have a an abundance of nature.
j. g.
It's just one of the loveliest places in the world. Any weather. Autumn my favourite.
T. M.
Started at the pergola, then the little zoo park then walked to Parliament Hill. A lovely day out
A.
Incredible combination of a park and countryside, easy and cheap parking too. Very good for a nice medium length walk followed by a great pub lunch in one of the many pubs nearby.
L. D.
We are quite blessed to have a vast area of Greenland to enjoy
Great area for fitness, walking, fresh air and a few water spots to enjoy the ducks
Be careful though you could get lost as it’s a huge play area
S. S.
Great place for a stroll, a run, a date, tanning session, picnic, a swim, dog walk, and whatever else your imagination can conjure (all in peace) It's as open air as I've seen in any part of London so you'll definitely catch a nice breath. Enjoy!
A. R.
Lovely 😍😍😊😊😊been celebrating my friend's birthday at a picnic in the park... Wonderful!
M. R.
Great place to enjoy some fresh air and green areas with friends and family.
m. e.
Great for a really long walk that goes on and on and with some fantastic views over London
M.
Nice walk, with great views of Central London skyscrapers on horizon.
K. N.
Hampstead is absolutely gorgeous especially in the summer. It can take hours to wander around the whole park. It's a great place for a stroll even for a run with stunning sceneries in every direction. You'll see lots of couples strolling hand-in-hand, runners, and even individuals simply enjoying the peace around them. Go to Parliament Hill, the highest point in Hampstead Heath offering sweeping views of London's skyline.
As a bonus the area of Hampstead itself is beautiful so you're not far from discovering another peaceful and beautiful neighbourhood in London. Kenwood House (a free attraction) is also close by and worth a visit.
One of the most beautiful parks in the whole of London, I highly recommend it over other parks found more centrally in London.
M. F.
Beautiful park in London, where you can take your dog for a swim. The beautiful scenery and view points over the city also brings some joy in spending some hours there.
L. R.
Parking at times is very limited. It is a well kept pubic open space. Good cafe. Lots of people with dogs. The paths are in good state but can be very muddy in winter.
B. M. M.
Loved the village feel of this very pituresque little town and its wonderful park
S. M.
Huge park with a variety of three open swimming pools lido style and a fabulous view of London
R. R.
Huge park with swimming ponds. We used the mixed pond. It was amazing and it felt like we were on holiday. Very crowded though and you have to queue to get in.
R. M.
The ideal place for walking, swimming, jogging, tennis, nature watching, picnicking... whatever you want to do... in probably the best countryside environment in London.
C. L.
Outstanding.
But remember to take your food and litter with you. It is extremely inconsiderate and potentially dangerous to leave your takeaway, or bottles or tissues etc in this site of natural beauty. If you are unable to take your litter away kindly stay at home until you learn how to pick things up and take them with you. Call your Mum and she can teach you how. Feel completely free to trash your own living room rather than this great open space.
A. A.
Christmas at Kenwood House is a "must visit" location this winter. Don't forget to add the event to your day/night out. Highly recommend 👌
L. j.
Great park with amazing views of London. Also great if you have kids as they can run around and enjoy themselves while also offering a nice getaway from the hustle and bustle of central london
m. h.
Very nice park you wouldn't fill like your in london
