Reviews of Walpole Park
A. S.
Nice park for a short walk. To walk around it it takes around 10-12 minutes. You’ll find here nice garden and impressive, big, tall trees. There is a cafe and there are free toilets for people visiting that park. From scale 0-10 I’ll give that park strong 6. It’ll be nice for 2-4 km run 🏃.
M. K.
Beautiful park. I visited almost every day during my stay in Ealing. I especially liked the lake and the garden. Had lovely time reading books in various spots of the park. It has a corner for every taste. Livelier spots and more peaceful corners. The plaques giving historical and botanical info were a nice touch and fun to discover around the park!
K. R.
A beautiful park with lots of lovely flower beds, an amazing playground which is suitable for all different ages of children. There is a pond, lots of wildlife around. A beautiful avenue of trees. The cafe is adequate and near the playground. Toilet facilities need work due to vandalism but all in all a very lovely park to visit... not to mention Pitshanger Manor Museum too!
S. E.
This is a lovely park for dog walking and walking. There's a children's play area and at certain times, a small coffee bar. Just be aware that they lock the gates in the evening and closing times are not generally signposted on the gates... Nobody will tell you that they are being locked, they will just lock you in without warning! To get out, you will either have to climb the gates or call the council. Be warned!
S. H.
Another great discovery during lockdown. Lovely open space with water features and a lovely cafe.
Lots of places to sit and reflect. Also loved the numerous plaques and historical facts dotted around.
Will definitely revisit.
R. a. W.
Nice clean park with children's play area for all ages. Different cafes and food options in and around the park, and just a short stroll from Ealing Broadway with its shops and restaurants. Plenty of parking and close to public transport. Great park for dogs.
R. B.
Beautiful park at any time of the year!
F. L.
Very lovely walk around today, lively with kids about too
j. f.
The Ealing blues festival was back, but they couldn't have everything that was there before Covid. That said £8 for a whole days music! You can't knock it. In all a great day.
E.
What a stunning hidden gem this place is?! We couldn’t believe our eyes as we were simply walking through Ealing with a cup of coffee and stumbled across this beautiful park that was quite tucked away. The gardens were absolutely stunning with some water features around to add that added touch of wow! The park is so beautiful picturesque and we couldn’t stop taking pictures everywhere. Absolutely fell in love, highly recommend a visit...
L. R.
Great place with a lovely outdoor cafe, tree lined paths and landscaped gardens and ponds by Walpole House Lots of summer events held here including the CAMRA beer festival, hopefully many more to come post pandemic.
J. R.
Beautiful park, excellent playground for little ones and older children alike. Cafe serving lovely coffee and snacks. Beautiful experience!
I. C.
Easy access
Plenty of seating
Good pathways
Interesting art installation
Plenty of shade provided by trees
Lovely pond which had ducks, moorhens and a heron on it when we visited.
D. P.
It's absolutely amazing and beautiful place.
The park is really big enough for everyone even for those that want a bit of little privacy.
Also you've a little hidden coffee/restaurant just on a side.
Playground for kids and everything for everyone as long as you're thankful you'll be definitely enjoy your time.
Stay blessed
Jesus Christ is King and He is coming back soon!

Walpole Park is one of the nicest parks in Ealing. It is about 28 acres, so it is perfect for your daily walking/running routine, or for a walk with your dog. The park had a small playing area for kids, but it needs to be increased. The park’s location is very good and near Ealing Broadway station and many bus stops.
V. N.
Lovely park with a big playground, a small lake and only 5-10 mins walk from the hustling Ealing Broadway. There is a small cafe by the playground where you can get a drink and snack and ice cream in the summer time! Family and dog friendly.
S. R.
Lovely park. Went through here between Ealing and home. The weather was great and I relaxed!
J. F.
Great place to walk the dogs and great coffe shop
S. J.
I was so pleasantly surprised to discover this park having seen it on the map and passing nearby. Carefully landscaped and maintained, this is a lovely experience. From the pond with the ornate bridge to the walled garden and restaurant and on to the large house with art gallery this is one place where for which words are inadequate. It simply has to be experienced.
S. H.
There are no two days, where this park looks the same. I walk through this every single day and I still remain awestruck with the beauty this park holds. A very lively spot and immense joy each time.
A must go if you enjoy some time out alone under a tree sketching or reading away.
Cherry on top, good play spots for kids and dogs.
A. R.
Great park with amazing playground, there are 2 for different age groups and the floor is sand, so make sure you carry your spade and bucket! The park also has beautiful surroundings great for a walk or a run, together with a lovely little coffee shop and toilets.
Don't forget to go to Pitshanger manor Gallery.
F. T.
Amazing oasis with cultural and social value and of tge many beautiful parks within the London Borough of Ealing, "the Queen of Suburbs ".
H. F.
My favorite park in around ealing. A trail big enough for walking or jogging. A coffee shop inside and a big children's play area with many fun filled activities.
s. g.
It's a really lovely place, often not as crowded as one might expect. It has a great little café at the 'Broadway' end and delightful little lakes and other features for young children, like playgrounds
H. G.
Great park! Has everything from water features, kids play areas, many paths and well grassed areas, many trees but placed so they don't take up space. Great for working out and dog walking.
S. K.
Nice park in Ealing Broadway
S.
Quiet place to walk around and enjoy nature.
C.
Walpole Park has a great play area for older children with large climbing area covered with gravel. For smaller kids there is an enclosed play area covered with sand. There is also a cafe for drinks and snacks. Seating is outside. Cafe serves you through a large window (perfect for Covid times). Park gets crowded on weekend afternoons so morning is a better time to visit.
R.
Beautiful but busy park
A. J.
A beautiful historic park in the centre or a crazy city. This park has beautiful enclosed gardens and each area has bits of history descriptions so adults and children can really understand the area and how it was designed.
e. B. C. G. a. r.
I’ve loved this park since a child, so many happy memories from the fish pond to the little Zoo & now the glorious play area for kids as well as the beauty of the green park. Enjoy 💕💕
K. p. s.
This park have all basic amenities. Have coffee house and you can get snacks here too. Most important is refreshments room is there. Have all play equipment for small kid. Park is quite.
M. M.
I am on the Ealing Beer Festival here, the atmosphere is superb, over 400 different beers, cider, wine, food-trucks with fair selection of meals. If you are not here now, you must regret it sooner or later....
A. S.
Lovely park. Lots of pretty nature around, a kids area and various water features.
O. S. O.
Huge fan, the playground is great and the proximity to ani bet of coffee shops makes it a great day out.
A. C.
An excellent park that includes a playground for the children, a cafe, toilets and places just to chill in the sun...!
Z. G.
Lovely place to walk. We caught up with some old friends and enjoyed the walk and their company. Great place to visit with the family.
A. P.
Lovely park to stroll in or bring children. Many mature trees and shrubs. Water lakes for children to gaze at. Play park and snack kiosk.
V. B.
Lovely park with some nice water features and a good playground. It is often busy though
A.
Nice Beautiful Big park for a relax...but need to maintain more...
S. P.
Nice place for a walk and safe for kids to enjoy themselves!
j. b.
An historic setting retaining some original fabric and landscape feature restoration surely counts amongst London’s finest smaller parks ?
A modern playground, kiosk, toilets, community centre, ponds, chestnut and lime tree avenues contribute to an evocative and idyllic setting.
The acclaimed Pitzhanger Manor leads onto the park.
A noteworthy and rehabilitated amenity that is well worth seeking out and deserving of widespread recognition.
z.
Quite nice. Lots of benches and trees. Has a playground. Has extremely disgusting toilets but toilets nonetheless. Has a cafe.
E. T.
Beautiful park. I visited almost every day with my baby during my maternity leave
I. W.
Always worth visiting, includes a nice little lake, a coffee shop and lots of walks, now with an exhibition of photos
J. L. N.
My children love the playground area. Excellent green space.
P. F.
Lovely local park with kids playground and couple of ponds and coffee shop
D. R.
Great park in Ealing. Good amount of green space for laying out or throwing a frisbee. Plus a walled garden, some water and fountains with ducks, and walking path throughout.
S. W.
Peaceful, and nice for walking, and bringing kids-playground there - dog friendly too. Restaurant adjoining & an art gallery too.
R. R.
Walpole Park is a great park that needs more support from government - as most parks do.
It used to be the grounds of Sir John Soane, until it opened up to the public in 1901.
I'm told that there are 28 acres of land to form the grounds.
Though I mostly stay by the water features - the ornamental Serpentine Lake, bordering the House's rear lawn, and the west pond, because I like birds 🐦.
The water features are small but attract an impressive range and high density of birds - mostly waterfowl.
Fortunately they are not being injured as much as in many other London parks. However there are several dog walkers who met their dogs chase them and dive in the water - often unsupervised.
There are a few problems with antisocial gatherings - usually close to closing times
It is itself a grade two listed park, and there are several grade one and two listed features within the park. Notably the excellent grade one listed Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery.
As I write this there is an interesting outdoor modern art exhibition of crows.
Fans of Monty Python can even find a shrubbery here =)
N. M.
Beautiful park space with water, a peaceful walled garden and plenty of open space for your little ones (dog or child) to run themselves ragged!
M. J. D. A. R.
Great spacious park with a relaxing pond to sit down and contemplate the water, ducks or dogs fetching branches! There is a huge children's playground which is relatively new with new equipments. Also, there are some festivals and entertainment family events during the summer time. Highly recommended.
N. B.
Nice, small but well layed out and feels larger than is shown on Google maps with plenty of focus points and large fully featured play area. Refreshments available and tennis courts nearby. Main entrance now opened.
L. P.
One of the best parks in Ealing hands down. Great kids area with a massive playground full of sand. Kids spend hours here and the the cafe, The Rickyard serves up great snacks, drinks, coffees ice creams etc.
J. S.
Diversity and wonderful. Great vibe. Such variety of scenery and plants and trees.
E. A.
Lovely park for families. Sandy play ground is nice.
G. M.
Lovely setting, good for family walks, refreshments available. Has child friendly play area. Also has free Wi-Fi access
O. G.
Oh yes… a great place in Ealing. Sand playground for baby and little toddlers and separate is a bigger playground for children’s. and looks very nice a clean. The caffe shopp is really sweet but a bit expensive. Yes, is a good choice
J. S.
Lovely park with cafe, broad green spaces, some secret garden and the trees are in memorial to past councillors.
Lovely oasis of green in heart of Ealing.
C. G.
Nice place close to me. The snow raised the level.
P. B.
Great for a walk park has some amazing trees and grass left wild
R. A.
Really nice park where you can easily socially distance and unwind. Two ponds for duck and moorhen feeding. Lots of pudgeons to entertain the kids, two children's play grounds AND a coffee shop/cafe all in a lovely setting. Shame about the rubbish strewn everywhere on our second visit but the park staff were doing an excellent job clearing it up whilst we were there.
M. S.
Lovely, beautiful park. Love the hanging plants in the restaurant garden.
Buzzing with people smiling, laughing and enjoying the sun.
Lovely watching the wildlife, i could have sat there longer just watching the birdie.
B.
Very beautiful place to relax and also fun playground
R. M.
Nice large park with good children's playground.
D. B.
My first visit. Quite beautiful and full of life. Need to put signs near the water to warn people not to throw bread into the ponds.
S. A.
Lovely place to relaxing, do some exercising or simply reading a book or take a coffee surrounded by tranquility. Totally love this park ❤️ 💕😍
M. R.

A lot of fun for kids at playground, nice place for a walk and relax.
c. b.
Beautiful park, great play, central location.
O. A. T.
My local park, big and picturesque. Has been a life saver during lockdown - great for jogging. Very family oriented with two playgrounds and a small kiosk to get tea/ coffee. Enjoy taking my young daughter round the park and the small garden. On the downside, it can get really busy.
A. D.
huge park with plenty places to relax and play with friends and family.
D. G.
Very nice and friendly environment. Can walk around and enjoy the fresh weather or if you have kids, they will love playing in the playground.
L. H.
We visited here a couple of days ago. It has lovely wooden play equipment. There r 2 climbing frames, 2 seesaws, swings, wobbly ship, sandpit and tyre swings. There is a café. Next to the café is a glass beehive. The toilets r closed at the moment. This is possibly for maintenance. Ealing Broadway is close by with toilets in the shopping centre.
L. S.
Lovely green area with playgrounds for children.
C. K.
Another good park for a Sunday stroll or dog walk
I. M.
Nice Park! You can grab a coffee and go for a walk or simply sit and admire the little ponds and Pitzhanger House
K. H.
Nice park for a quick run or walk. I think it should be cleaned more often as some corners have rubbish lying around which takes away the beauty of this green place.
M. P.
Lots of space good for dog walking. Interesting facts dotted around park as well
E. B.
Lovely Park, nteresting history and Pitzhanger Manor. Also a nice restaurant: Soans Kitchen.
M. P.
Just lovely, great place for the kids to play while I read in the shade.
A. 2. J.
This park is beautiful & huge , ponds , wildlife.... stunning !
Play areas for children of all ages .
I cannot recommend visiting enough!
Great place to chill & relax .
A. D.
Lovely quiet space with benches to sit and share a coffee of read a book. Lots of well behaved dogs and conscientious owners
B. D.
It's a really nice park if a little unkempt but I really loved the brass plaques which tell about the trees and have inscriptions taken from Sir John Soane's diary. There were plenty of people still there when I left at about 20.00hrs. I felt perfectly at ease and not apprehensive or scared at all. Overall a lovely patch of green in London suburbia.
J. G.
Magic spot... an oasis of calm... only down side is no public toilets available as all closed... cafe blames council... wither way not good enough really
J. D.
Beautiful secluded park in the middle of Ealing. They also run nature activities for children in the summer on Saturday morning such as pond fishing etc. Such a gorgeous park, beautiful features and flowers and so peaceful!
E. M.
Beautiful park, amazing view of the sunset. The toilets have been closed through lockdown but they may be opening again soon. There's fountains and ponds, and a beautiful avenue of oak trees. The kitchen garden is very cute, it has lots of herbs growing there. :)
B. G.
I usually like to go on small walk in my lunch break when weather is nice, it's a nice park to chill and relax.
Q. d.
It's a beautiful park.theres a nice play area for small children and older children. There's a small coffee place near the playground. It's a lovely park. Loads of space and so so many trees.
T. S.
Nice park next to the stunning Pitzhanger Manor - great place to visit
Y. S.
It has a large area to walk around in, and quite a few locations to stop and have a picnic.
There is also a children's playground straight ahead from the main entrance.
(oh and this nice looking tree bush)
C. D.
Lovely and clean playground. My kid had a lot of fun and the park is a must see one next time when we will visit
Y. A.
Amazing park. Great fountain. Too many dogs. Big and beautiful trees. Many events and activities.
L. L.
Quiet and lovely park, clean. It could be more accessible as there are not many entrances. There is a photography exposition at the moment, which was very interesting to see.
K. L.
This park has been a major source of sanity over the past year. Always beautiful whatever the season, frequented by a diverse range of lovely people, and very well cared for by park staff and the general Ealing public (very rarely do you see any litter anywhere)
L. K.
Great place to go read a book or go relax.pre covid used to host a brilliant jazz festival as well as a beer festival over the summer.worth visiting. Lots of interesting shops nearby, the red lion does a grt Sunday roast and within walking distance of Ealing studios
K. D.
awesome park, enormous, beautiful trees, fantastic plants and views. super chill , busy streets just round the corner. come and sit.
K. “. j. T.
adequate place for usual lesure, and also good for light exercise such as jogging.
J. W.
It's a lovely park, but unfortunately very busy as it was such a nice day. Far too many parents with children, definitely not social distancing. The children's play area was incredibly busy. And nobody was wearing a mask.
m. s.
Nice park, very beautifully kept. Beautiful collection of trees and a nice herb/fruit/veg garden.
Has two very nice ponds with ducks and other waterfowl. A very pleasant park to have a break, a stroll - get away from the hustle and bustle of city living.
B. B.

Great little park in the heart of Ealing, with two good playgrounds for kids one for younglings and another for older kids. Plenty of space and just a nice chilled vibe. Is usually fairly busy but not too busy.
A. S.
One of the nicest parks I’ve been to in London. It has a little bit of everything.
I would’ve loved it even more if it had a basketball hoop and/ or table tennis.
F. 2.
Great facilities, and a fun park to hang around.
X. G.
Really nice local park for a small walk and coffee around. Good for catching up with friends and it’s not to busy. Perhaps needs more benches
M. W.
Nice spacious peaceful park. 2 small ponds with some birds and ducks. Kids like to watch the water fountains. The playground area is filled with laughter. Happy children!!
M. B. J.
Beautiful park with a great playground and cafe.
A. S.
It has 2 ponds, one more artificial than the other. A cafe, a children's playground, and a more adventurous olaygroun in which something is always broken. I feel like they could do a bit more in order to "beautify" the park, but compared to most it's still quite nice. There are a few larger fields that make it easier to play games in too. A decent amount of trees :)
J. G.
Flower and tree arrangements make this park so beautiful in spring and summer. Very much family and good natured people oriented place
H. L.
Wonderful park but gets very busy
A. M. G.
One of my favourite local places to go on a hot day. Very scenic and not overly busy.. unfriendly geese :(
L. S.
It a brilliant place to go if you want open space, some water, ducks, and some frisbe throwing. However the toliets here are gross, and all the toliets when I went had no toliet paper in them. But that was the only downside.
N. H.
nice gallery wedding venue and restaurant. Staff very welcoming and friendly
J. R.
Great park wonderful cake and coffee shop
R. C.
Best park I've been to in the area. Extremely peaceful, lots of space. Perfect for picnics
H. C. M. A.
Lovely landscape garden with pond. Very nice paths. Superb coffee shop attached to the park. Quite close to Ealing Broadway. Street parking with meter.
M. S.
Lovely park. Great for a walk. Toilets need improvement though.
J. C.
Lovely walk around the park in the afternoon. It was a sunny day at the weekend but did not feel too busy. Lots of places to lay down a blanket and have a sit down if you don't snare a bench.
K. N.
Beautiful park to walk or jog or take the kids. Two big playgrounds to suit different age groups. Sand for the little ones to play with. A coffee shop next to the playground. Two beautiful ponds where brides and grooms come to take pictures. Best park in the area.
C. M.
Such a beautiful park. Perfect for families, picnics, a stroll, anything really.
D. X.

J. S.
Lovely well managed local park
S. C.
Quite pleasant park. There's a concessions stand but the gallery is currently closed.
g. m.
It's a very nice park with good playground for children. Some games are even water based, great addition for the summer season. Playground is for all ages too from 2/3 till 10+. In summer they also run fairs and concerts. Great place to have picnics too.
R. S.

J. D.

Wonderful park with cafe and children area
A. N.
A lovely, well kept park. The national trust keep it well looked after. The two cafés, bookshop, and garden centre were very good too.
The actual park is free. You can't get in the country house, but can see the beautiful building over it's mote from within the park.
The park is quite small, so was easy to have a walk all around.
v. p.
Great facilities for a small park-big kids play area, toilets, and a cafe. Also a small lake with lots of ducks and some interesting sculptures.
J. B.
Lovely children's playground (covered in sand so beware) lots of trees as well as beautiful and practical flowers, a couple of cute and well maintained ponds with wildlife, also a pretty little bridge. Usually an ice-cream van outside during the summer which is fun, however the parking is too pricey £1 for 20 minutes which I'm fairly certain is pricier than the shopping malls. All in all a great afternoon out however
I. A.
This park is really nice. As it's a local one there is not that much people going there. It has a gazebo, a tiny river, a kind of herbarium and a coffee place that has toilets. We did not venture too far but overall it looks like a beautiful place to spend a whole afternoon.
P. S.
The best park in Ealing I must say. It ticks all the boxes. Nice and clean park with running track, two small ponds with fountain and some birds like ducks adds charms to the park. Separate kids area with all kind of fancy rides and swings for your little ones
B.
In my opinion the most beautiful park in Ealing. Picnic by the big pond or grab a bite in the newly built cafe by the peaceful gardens.
There's another outdoor cafe by the two children's playgrounds, sand/equipment for toddlers and high climbing (and not so liked) pebble ground for tweens.
Lot's of big open space for runners, sunbathers and group gatherings. Music, comedy festivals over Summer!
G. A.
Not much in the way of mask wearing, but play park nicely busy and cafe being well used. Park is well maintained and an interesting display of dogs on view.
Nothing special but pleasant nonetheless
J. D.
Very quiet and peaceful, beautiful gardens .
S. D.
Loved this park. Has lovely pockets for tranquillity. Great for the whole family
J. W.
A great park with a manor house which is open to the public, it's very well landscaped with water features. And a small cafe, and also a cafe come eating place which is located in a walled garden, not a huge park but just enough for a nice stroll around, and a coffee to finish.
M. L.
Awesome. Many groups of people doing activities. Lively. Loved it! Parking is a problem:(
P. N.
A beautiful, well tended park. Perfect for walking, jogging or dog walking.
C. C.
Lovely park to walk through to Ealing Broadway.
M. V.
There is a cafe and a lots of benches to sit down and greenary for a lovely walk. There is also a fountain with some ducks and a large play area for children. There is parking outside the park and is 5minutes away from Ealing broadway shops
J. Z.
Love this place!

Great spacious park with a relaxing pond to sit down and contemplate the water, ducks or dogs fetching branches! There is a huge children's playground which is relatively new with new equipments. One of my favourite places, so nice and chilled

Nice, small but well layed out and feels larger than is shown on Google maps with plenty of focus points and large fully featured play area. Refreshments available and tennis courts nearby. Main entrance now opened.
T. S.
Lovely park containing the fascinating Pitzhanger Manor
K. T.
Great play facilities for children of different ages. Beautiful open spaces and views and a lovely walk round. There is now a camera on Culmington Road just after Elders Road with a small pedestrianised area not to drive through. Be careful!
A. O.
Beautiful place to walk around, lake with ducks also nice cafe to sit and have lunch
J.
Had a lovely picnic lunch there. The café made wonderful coffee. Would definitely go there again and again.
J. Z.
One of our favourite Ealing parks, always lively with a great coffee shop next to the playground.
S. K.
I was using this as a socially distanced way to go home. It was sunny, full of children their animals and parents
A. K.
Very nice park. I like.
R. J.
Absolutely beautiful and is such a nice place to walk around and eat lunch and relax. Such a big park gives people the opportunity to do what they want whether it be skating or cycling or having lunch or a picnic with family, such a beautiful place I will definitely visit again in the future!!
S. D.
Has a cafe (tad expensive), toilets, 2 playgrounds, duck pond, and plenty of space to walk your dog. Can't ask for much more out of a park
L. H.
Beautiful park and playground, public toilettes, and snack point.

Best family park in West London. Ponds, fountains, ducks, shaded areas, seats, great for picnic, 2 amazing kids playgrounds- separate one for younger kids and toddlers with a large sand area ( bring along your sandpit toys!). Also very diverse botanically. Has a restaurant and snacks place. And connected to pitzhanger gallery. In summer ice cream trucks at the gates!

Love it, very family friendly and specially good for kids
S. F.
The national trust keep it well looked after. The two cafés, bookshop, and garden centre were very good too. The actual park is free. From the pond with the ornate bridge to the walled garden and restaurant and on to the large house with art gallery this is one place where for which words are inadequate. It simply has to be experienced.
I. B.
It gets busy during sunny weekend days but simply fabulous by 6pm if you want to tire them out before bed! Excellent rope course and fantastic tyre swings!Went for a picnic in the park the weather was lovely had a little walk round it was nice to see people enjoying the sun

Great place to take the kids or hang out with friends. Beautiful walled garden & well kept park to wander round. Good play area, Pitzhanger Manor worth a visit with regular art shows & interesting architecture.
M. N.
Great Ealing Park.
A. M.
This is a gorgeous park, it has a very cute little pond and arch way. There are open spaces with grass, paths and trees. I've spent hours here slacklining. There is also a playground area. This is usually quite a busy park but there is lots of space.
A. G.
Beautiful park to visit and relax
F. D. L.
Very beautiful park. There are lot of kid games. A pond with a fountain, an inner garden and a small river. It is always well maintained with plenty of flowers during spring band other plants in the winter.
R. S.
Lovely clean open space with plenty to do for young children.
Children play area, streams and of course.the lovely country house.
C. M.
The last 5 years has seen this park go from strength to strength, the manor restored, two excellent playgrounds, a cafe, fancy restaurant and generally more maintenance all round. We'll done Ealing. Add one more cafe/attraction on the other side of the park and it would be perfect.
Z. A. N.
Will be in love with this park forever. Can only recommend, though it can be crowded over weekends or public holidays when the weather is nice. They have toilets, cafe and good playground for kids too.
D. E.
This is the best park in the area - beautiful and great for walks!
G. Y.
Really beautiful park. Was not over crowded and felt comfortable in current global situation. Rather pleasant experience. Would recommend.
A. C.
Just few minutes from Ealing Broadway centre. Relaxing park with good space for a wide range of different activities

Beautiful scenery, plenty to do, nice walks and cycling. Boats, pedalos, fishing, picnic area and playground. Very clean facilities. Bistro restaurant excellent and other cafe good and more competitively priced. A great day out.

Whole my life is based in this breathtaking park
R. E.
Big. Lots of activities during the summer months which include the Jazz and 🍺 beer festivals. Awesome on a sunny day. Rickyards Café is brilliant. From Playground to the fountain/pond there's lots to do. Only downside side is overgrown grass from time to time.
M. L.
Well I was at the Ealing Blues Festival but the park is well tended and peaceful.
R. C.
Beautiful beautiful park in Ealing. Water features, sloping landscapes, landmark trees, obstacle course playground for children and even a vegetable garden complete with honey bee hives (yes, these are in use during summer!)
Have spent many hours walking around this park
K. P.
Excellent park,we use it every day.One thing wrong is the PUBLIC TOILETS are LOCKED till 11am.Walkers and Runners can't use them before 11am.I have seen people going behind bushes to relieve themselves.
G. D.
Lovely place for a picnic or a nice stroll, for an even longer walk you walk around the adjoining Lammas Park
G. B.
Pretty park with a lovely cafe
B. E.
Great time with the family and they enjoyed adventure playground. Shop I. The premises should be prepared for weather as they ran out of water and charged 5p for a cup of ice. Overall a great time experienced in the park.
A. K.
Nice park for a walk, sit and kids to play
K. P.
Very good playground
S. S.
Just has a really nice energy about it
S. B.
Nice walk about and play area for children. It has two ponds with ducks too.
P. G.
Nice colour.
P. M.
Great place. Play equipment, water, wildlife . . .
M. M.
I wouldve rated this place 5 stars but Nathan did not jump in the pond. Now I am sad. Goodbye.
G. M.
Has a good Musium
Ю. Г.
This park has huge potential, but understandably due to the cuts to local councils the park is outdated.
B. K.
This park is really special. Especially the wild life is everytime a new surprise. Crowded when it is sunny...
C. D.
Since it was renovated this has become such a local magnet for the community. Love the summer music and beer festivals. The cafe serves great natural healthy ice lollies, there is a secluded herb garden with bee hives and a new hidden room with courtyard you can hire for events. Two playgrounds - one for younger kids with sand on the floor and one for older kids with fun water pumps that blends in well with the surroundings.
K. M.
Very nice park, clean and open with nice paths, greenery, water benches and a playground.
d. s.
Great park. Often head here on Sundays for a bit of kite flying. Wind tends to be very low due to surrounding trees and urban sprawl, so only suitable for lightweight or zero wind models, but spacious and no hassle.
D. B.
Trees, grass, enclosed and a nice play area for children 👌🏼
J. B. T.
Walpole Park is perfect. Lots of space, water fountains, sunbathing spots plus a great adventure playground for the kids. Oh, and a cafe, too. Recommend parking in nearby car parks. 1 hour only around the park won't be long enough!!
R. W.
During lockdown, a much quieter public park than Holland Park, Hyde Park, Regents Park or Battersea Park. Currently there is an outdoor wildlife photography exhibition showcasing local residents work. A small kiosk cafe near the children’s playground serves drinks and hot snacks. Sadly the attached Pitzhanger Manor and gallery, built by the neoclassical architect and collector Sir John Soanes, was closed, but the original walled kitchen garden is open, secluded and a peaceful place to sit.
Z.
I have lived in this area for over 10 years and I am a local resident. I can quite frankly say that over the years, Walpole Park has turned into a moshpit of people. For one thing it has become over commercialised, removing open spaces of green to replace with childrens areas, cafeterias and other attractions which has ruined any peace the park had in the past, since it is just cluttered with people now.
I used to walk a lot of my dogs here in previous years, and even that feels as though I am walking through a town, not a park...With a person in sight everywhere you look, it's hard to get the same peace you once could when strolling through Walpole. I am still walking my new dog here since this is the closest park to where I live and I find the space extremely limiting to where the dog can roam free without some distraction arising.
Hopefully they won't build anymore on it and we will still have at least a little bit of space left...although the way the world is going it seems unlikely.
L. u.
Beautiful park with walk ways and plenty of grass for picnics and sports. Play areas for kids. The Pitshanger gallery and Soane's Kitchen is located inside. Water streams and ponds with cute ducks.
A. T.
This is always such a fun place to spend a weekend. You can go for a run, play badminton, lay in the sun, have a picnic, get an ice cream, play with the dogs there. Love it, it's quite big and somehow secluded from the city's madness
T. H.
My kids love this park, it has something for everyone.
P. S.
Nice local park that has changed over the years. Has good young childrens play area, cafe (overpriced) and toilet facilities. Plenty of seating and green areas for lazing or playing games. Has a pond with ducks and a rose garden and museum (both under refurbishment as of May 2018). Jazz and beer festivals take over the park at different times of the year and the rear exit of the park leads to Lammas Park. Can get noisy from children, and the odd plane flying overhead but still a good place to relax and enjoy the sun or take the dog for a walk. Nice for a stroll in winter when leaves change colour and squirrels in abundance. Not far from Ealing Broadway shops and local pubs and eateries.
H. “. D. D.
Great Park to walk on a sunny afternoon. Plenty of space to social distance and parking is accessible at the front of the park, however paid.
F. R.
Was there for the jazz festival, people were very friendly, on arrival park was clean. And was clearly signed. Just the ground we had to take care and watch where to walk as if was lots of holes
A. S.
been coming here for years and recently seen the upgrade to the childrens area, very nice park
G. S.
I was doing a bit of shopping at Ealing Broadway and wanted a little walk so went to Walpole Park. It is years since I have been to it and was delighted to find it as charming as ever.
To get to it you take a short walk (10 mins) from the Broadway mall (about 15 mins from the tube/rail station). There is a limited amount of meter parking on Mattock Lane and parking in the Broadway mall.
The park covers about 30 acres and is mainly wild meadows intersected with lots of tree lined paths that are accessible and on a Sunday afternoon were full of families, joggers and cyclists.
The perimeter has mixed borders of trees, shrubs and flowering bulbs and plants. There are lots of benches throughout.
There are two bodies of water, one like a stream with bridges and mini waterfalls, and the other a lake with fountains. Both have wildlife.
There is a nice children's playground and a separate toddler playground. Next to it is a small cafe.
There is also a peaceful walled garden where local residents grow fruit and veg and flowers. The wisteria was out and it smelled delightful.
Since I last visited they have put out a number of posts with interesting info about some tree specimens. I was also taken with the little posts with etched photos and memories of the park from residents.
The council put on events in the park especially in the summer, but even on a day when nothing is on, it is a charming park to sit, walk, play or picnic in.
L. B.
Everyday park !! I lived nearby for about an year and I loved going here almost everyday to run, jog, walk or just to breathe fresh air and clear my mind whenever I needed a break from day rigour. Ealing is in general no short of parks but this is made for walking families and kids.
Y. E.
Great park in central Ealing to visit. There are 2 children's parks for differing age groups. An open air cafe for snacks and hot drinks.
A steam running through the centre and a small pond.
C. H.
We ate here last night for the third time and the food was superb - even better than on our previous visits if that's possible!Very, very tasty perfectly cooked food with superb presentation. Very friendly staff. Best to book as it is quite small.
v.
Great for kids. All the variety you need.
Even has a beehive which you can watch through a glass screen!
Great cafe, pond with ducks, two playgrounds for different age groups.
Would prefer the gates to the playgrounds to be more difficult to open and not a fan of sand otherwise would leave a 5 star review.
A hidden gem.
F. S.
Nice largish park with big trees surrounding large patches of grassed areas with paved paths through and around it, plus a couple of ponds/water features. Has a cafe kiosk selling a range of baked goods, snacks, icecreams, tea/coffee and cold drinks etc. A kiosk is good as if you have a dog, you don't have to go inside - but if it's raining you'll get wet as there is no shelter (one tiny bandstand but I can't remember if there's any seatin in it). There is a respectable sized children's play area with various things to climb on/swing on etc. It also has several toliets just around the corner from the kiosk, which is extremely handy when you're caught short.. enough room for me and the dog in one cubicle. Plenty of park benches too, which is very pleasant on a nice day to sit and eat a sandwich, look at the scenery and watch the world go by. I believe when restoration is completed on Pitzhanger Manor there will be another cafe, but I don't know what the timeframe is on that.
M. O.
Nice park. Water, basic fountains, ducks, brudges, loads of trees, some of the hundreds of years old, plenty of open space. Also playground facilities and a kiosk. Plenty of benches to sit on.
L. H. C.
Restful and beautiful park next to Ealing Broadway. Key features: Majestic centenary oak trees, Horse Chestnut trees, pine trees. Nice lakes, sculptures and a sort of Japanese garden. An interesting museum to visit but close under refurbishment.
A. P.
Excellent space in Ealing to picnic, walk the dogs, relax or just sit at the coffee shop by the lake (now small after the re-model). This park has events throughout the summer like the Ealing Jazz festival and last week's dog festival.
Best part of this park are the REAL toilets with sensors under the tap that dispense water soap and dry them for you. No germs. Toilets are grim mind you but no worse than a pub on a Saturday night.
C. D.
Pleasant shortcut from Ealing Broadway through Walpole Park and Lammas Park to the Brentford end of Northfields Avenue and Northfields Station.
Walpole Park has a long narrow pond/lake with wee waterfalls going into man-made stream at one end and at the opposite end a quaint ornate stone bridge with three wee arches, situated behind the 18th century Pitshanger Manor Museum and Art Gallery.
Has two play areas for younger and older children. Both are well equipped with sand and water play.
Mature trees are scattered throughout the well manicured swathes of grass. Good for picnicking, and letting your children and dogs let off steam.
The Ealing Jazz Festival is held here annually.
Used to have a wee animal enclosure with small furries and exotic birds. Unsure whether it's still there.
In close proximity to Ealing Town Hall, Ealing Studios and The Questors Theatre. Nearest stations are Ealing Broadway and West Ealing.
C. C.
Beautiful park to have a walk around. There is entertainment during the summer with comedy festivals and beer festivals. Great place for kids and adults alike
J. G.
Always something to do at this beautiful local park
d. t.
Nice park with new play grounds for the kids nice lake and lots of bird life flora and fauna. If you drive be mindful of the parking as at different times you have to pay.
S. N. M.
Very calm and serene place with lot of open space and greenery. The small pond can be better maintained.
B. O.
Lovely park in extensive grounds with loads of dog walkers, runners and young families. A good haven from Ealing Broadway.
The cafe is not as good as it once was. They serve coffee & croissant for £3.50. The coffee is £2.40 and an almond croissant is £1.80 so quite a good deal. However, my croissant was stale!
They have free WiFi with good speed.
D. C.
Love the parks in West London
B. C.
Lovely park, Cafe and snack stop plus lots of open space. A very pleasant place away from traffic and yet close to Ealing Broadway.
P. j.
A beautiful park in the heart of Ealing. A truly tranquil oasis in the middle of a busy London suburb. Boasting a museum and cafe this park is made for loungers and families alike. Wonderfu plants and trees add to the beauty of this park. A must visit.
A. G.
Very good place for children. Very nice park for relaxing
B. L.
I've grown up in ealing and really love the improvements made within this park. Lovely place for a picnic or just to read a book, come here with kids or just adults, on your lunch break.. all round great park.
C. D.
Very nice park in close proximity from the train station.
J. S.
Lots of wild areas and paths under the trees. Overlooked by Pitzhanger Manor, recently restored. The park gets busy in the sunshine but is always a pleasant place to be.
G. C.
Things need to change in the office. This is a pretty big community with hundreds of residence. We need a management team that can handle the job, that appreciates the community, & that supports every single resident. A tip that can be helpful for new residents that I had to learn the hard way
J. S.
Nice place for family picnic
P. S.
Great, large park to spend time for a picnic or with the kids on the playground which has new equipment and a large sandpit.
Love the summer festivals which always feel safe and family friendly.
D. S.
Large Park with plenty of trees for shade. They have just built a new childrens playground and tidied up the stream/creak that runs through the park. A lovely place to spend a sunny day.
J. R.
Visited when the autumn colours were lovely. Small cafe and children's playground. Busy on a sunny Sunday but still plenty of room for walking with or without a dog!
T. F. t.
A real nice park, a nice atmosphere and nice scenery well worth a day out here with the kids
P. M.
This is a nice small park to walk around, you can have a small escape from the busy Ealing shopping street. Also there are two duck ponds one with a fountain. Play Ground and Park Caffe.

Can't wait to go there

Today it's very beautiful!!

Lovely place for a walk or to just laze around under the trees on a bright sunny afternoon, good for kids as well with 2 playgrounds side by side for different ages/abilities :-)
S. B.
Nice walk about and play area for children. It has two ponds with ducks too.

A lovely Park in London suburb of Ealing. Good to walk through to relax to get away from traffic and bustle of shopping locally. Revisited from childhood and early adult and it's the same restful experience. 😊

Excellent play area for kids...
B. W.
Cosy little park, with open spaces, a cafe, water features and plenty of plants and trees. Highly recommend visiting the museum, the Pitzhanger manor house and gallery, former country residence of Sir John Soane, especially if you are interested in architecture.
B. T.
Great park. Very well kept. There's a pond, bridges, amazing trees. Really is a great space to hang out.
N. W.
Lovely park which has super sandy play area for little children. A nice variety of trees and some interesting information scattered around the park about Ealing history.
A. P.
This park and house like many in West London was a private estate. It was purchased by Ealing Council from Sir Spencer Walpole at the turn of the last century. Pitzhanger Manor Museum and Art Gallery has been refurbished and is now open to the public but when we visited last year there was little to see there hardly any furniture of the correct period. As it's free to enter if you are in the park go and have a look they may have located some furnishings and if it rains it's somewhere to shelter. The park has a couple of ponds a stage where they hold the Ealing Blues & Jazz festival and also a comedy festival in the summer every year. One side of the park backs on to the old Ealing Film Studios and there is an small Zoo area there as well. In my youth I remember a talking Parrot, opinion differ to it's name some say Nora others say Lora but I remember she used to say "Hello ?ora*. She has gone now long dead I guess. There is also an avenue of Chestnut trees where we used to collect them for Xmas. It's a good park for walks as it is faily flat and even. The main enterence is on Mattock Lane and th enterence to the back of the park gives access across the road to another Ealing Park Lammas. It used to be a regular place to visit whne our children were young.
J. F. F.
One of my favourite places, so nice and chilled
R.
Lovely park where the children can play in freedom but enough space that you are not intruding on others. Well kept, with good facilities.
C. L.
Soane's Kitchen is a real fight I the midst of this beautiful park. The menu has some great food and the staff are attentive. The gardens are well planted and delightful. Hoping to visit Pitzhanger Manor soon.
A. G.
Beautiful, wide open park with plenty of things for the kids to play with. The cafe served up perfectly ok coffee and snacks.
d. k.
It's emazing - relaxing and entertaining for whole family!
Strongly recommend.
T. K. L.
Lovely park, would be even better if it were bigger.
J. T.
Walpole Park is a beautiful and big green space with large trees, a play area for kids, a cafe, basic water features and a Georgian Mansion in it. It's also home to Ealing's Jazz Festival in July. It's a truly wonderful place where you can just enjoy being outside. It can't match Regents Park or the other big London parks, but in Ealing this is a great local Park.
S. C.
Lovely park, nice playgrounds, lakes and lil cafe...even if I'm told it used to be a lot prettier before the refurbishment, haven't had the pleasure to see it then!
O. G.
Beautiful park to have a long or short walk in to escape the busy life of London. A nice playground for the children as well.
M. P.
I love this park! Great play area, huge fields and two ponds!! TWO!! It's great and very scenic too
P. G.
Lovely park.
S. O.
Been going here for the past 40 years, such a lovely park in Ealing, try linking up the local parks for an extended green space walk
J. R.
One of my fave places, all the facilities you need, great for kids, grab a coffee or a slice of cake. Beautiful well kept surroundings. A gem of Ealing for sure
K. L.
Lovely an magical place to enjoy and relax happy moments with friends 😊
R. A. (.
Awesome Park to run , or seat on a bench or walk around with friends. 5 minutes away shoping mall if you need anything. Plus museum to visit.
Y. S.
Lovely & relatively uncrowded park a stone's throw from busy Ealing Broadway. Hosts annual summer festivals including blues, comedy & jazz although the latter is sadly nowhere as good as it used to be since the original founder & organiser was booted out by the council a couple of years ago (he now organises the Drayton Court Hotel festival in West Ealing - if you like jazz, be there instead!)
l. p. r.
One thing you are sure about Ealing are parks. This one, near to the centre is, by far, the best alternative to all others. Nicely kept, playground areas for kids, duck pond, water features. Honestly Walpole Park can keep you and your kids entertained per hours. Just relax reading a book or sitting on a bench looking at the world going by... You will love it.
K. B.
Perfect for a family day out at a park or to get out have fun and see nature
Walpole Park has many advantages to going there are
* paths all round the park area so no getting muddy or dirty
* public toilets
* drinks - tea, hot chocolate, coffee + cold drinks / snack - biscuits, cakes, crisps stand
* a park for kids of all ages to play - babies, toddlers, younger kids and older kids to have fun
* plenty of seating
* pets welcome too - dog walking or similar
perfect for a picnic or day out
M. S.
Beautiful, peaceful park not too far from Ealing Broadway station. Makes for a good afternoon out on one of those rare days that the sun is out in London. :-) Not huge, but not tiny as well.
D. C.
Great park for a walk / run / sitting in the sun (assuming weather God's permit)
B. S.
Nice park, lots of chairs available to set and enjoy
K. K.
The park is big and has some café, play grounds and other bits and bobs. Located close to shops it's a great place for a picnic.
C. H. (.
The children's play area for older children has a grey dirt effect with stoney surface which stains shoes and clothes. The tyre swings are dangerous when the older children try to compete by swinging in a way that collides with other tyres. I had to take my grandchildren off them because of the proximity of the tyres are too close whilst swinging together!!
J. S.
Such a beautiful park through all seasons. Great atmosphere in the summer! Children's playground is great too!
F. S.
Lovely for picnics an kids to play
P. B.
Very nice and big park. Nice and big play area for kids. Very nice Garden with lots of seating area. Nice small pool with fountain and lots of Ducks.
C. J.
Lovely park for a weekend wander or a run. The park has been done up beautifully, especially Pitzhanger Manor.
V. d. Z.
Nice park. Clean etc.... Far better than your average local park but still a local park. Look out for Ealing beer festival in summer. Loved that.
T. S.
Decent size park with a pond, kids play area and lots of grass. Well maintained and recently refurbished. Just under 1 mile around the edge for running!
C. M.
Nice but better when half of it is not closed off to ticket events. Still fun playground for children and pretty park to walk around in.
D. B.
Lovely park for a walk and a nice playground for the kids
J. B.
Relax and nearby shopping centre , recommended
A. M.
I used to avoid this park at all costs because of the picnics which my dog would raid!!! It's not much better now, but I don't live near there any more 😜🤯😥
K. P.
Very good playground
T. L.
Very nice walk on a sunny day
W. P.
Great park with plenty of space and kids' play areas. Also, a surprisingly good little cafe.
H. B.
Since the completion of all the new landscaping and refurbishment Walpole is a great experience. Pitzhanger Manor is now very up market especially with famous Artist exhibitions. Soane's kitchen is just OK.
S. W. R.
Lovely park and a great place for the Ealing Beer Festival. Lots of families hanging about with shouty children. Just as a West London park should be?
T. P.
One of the best park in West London
F.
Really cool and relaxing park. The only thing I have to add here is that it can get pretty crowded during nice summer days.
L. E.
Very well kept park only slightly spoilled by the odd 3ft rat that runs out of the bushes near the small ponds - keep an eye on your picnic food
R. W.
Something for everyone, great park. Visited during a heatwave and found a tranquil oasis in the form of the Ealing Beer Festival. Parking nearby can be difficult - and pricey
F. M.
Beautiful place and nice restaurant and services
X. W.
Since the refurbishment in 2013-2014, Walpole Park really is my favourite park in the whole of London. There's a huge variety in the space and tasteful landscaping work has meant that it feels more like something in the home counties than something you'd expect this close to central London.
The new landscaped area has been carefully designed to make sitting on the grass easy - there's a long bank down to the stream at the perfect angle for sitting or reclining. There's also a duck pond and a vast variety of trees if you're flora- or fauna-inclined, and a rose garden and other floral arrangements. It's home to the Ealing beer festival and also this year home to the Ealing Jazz/Blues festival, which I'm still kicking myself for missing.
Definitely a park to check out if you're in the Ealing area and the sun is shining, any time of the year.
T. L.
Pretty, relaxing green space set back from the hustle and bustle of Ealing Broadway. Feed the ducks, have a coffee at the cafe or just laze away a sunny afternoon here with friends... Hosts the jazz and comedy festivals in the summer and if you get hungry, there are a number of restaurants a short walk away.
H. i. N. A. Z. (. G. l.
Great scenery,, relaxed atmosphere... enjoyed the walk...am sure those who visit it will enjoy it too.
T. T. I.
The park should be maintained properly..The duck ponds are fully covered with alge and to be cleaned.
T. D.
My favorite park in Ealing if not the world!
h. c.
Walpole park is a very good park, with plenty of activities for children and adults alike. With plenty of festivals and events in the summer, makes this a good city park.
E. L.
Would of been better if it didn't rain but hey ho.!
S. B.
Quite busy park. Nice play area 👍
D. P.
Saw Ealing Summer Festival here, which was brilliant!
v. s.
Nice park in the neighborhood...needs some attention to the kind of plants planted as few of them are the ones to cause serious skin irritations...need to be careful with children's as they might end up playing and touching them....
L. T.
Very nice park!. Sadly people leaves litter behind after visiting
P. G.
Play park, wooded areas, green open spaces, lovely walks and picnic tables
A. K.
Quite beautiful park. Clean and great playground for children. There is beer festival each summer :)
A. c.
A great park a bit of everything, play area for the kids, a cafe in the middle of the park and through out the summer has a lot of events, Jazz, comedy, beer festivals....
A. F.
Other than paid parking a great place to have fun with family
M. R.
Great improvements have been made to this park. It's now well-maintained, pleasant, never too busy, and has a small tuck shop.
C. C.
It's a lovely park where you can feed the ducks, there's a large children's play area, cafe which only have outside seating and a rest room.
M. B.
A beautiful, understated park. While not a famous royal park, it's just as beautiful but with a more local scene.
M. S.

Pretty park in the middle of Ealing. The house is open to the public and the small gallery was featuring work by Anish Kapoor when I went and was well worth the visit.

A beautiful, historic park that houses Sir John Soane's country villa and backs on to Ealing Film Studios. An unexpectedly good find in suburban west London.

Nice park in Ealing Broadway in the grounds of Pitzhanger Manor. Particularly nice in the Spring/Autumn when the trees and other vegetation are at their best. Lots of events happen in Walpole park over the summer months as part of the annual Ealing festival.

We come here every year for the Ealing Blues Festival and it's always a brilliant event. Where else can you see bands of the calibre of Never the Bride and Hayseed Dixie for less than a tenner? The only drawback is the smoke machines used by some acts - not only do they pollute the atmosphere but can be a real danger to health - my boyfriend suffers from COPD and the smoke triggered an attack which he was lucky to survive!! Please get rid of these machines and make it a safe event for all.

Ngl, this place bangs. Ber plants, flowers n dat. The fountains look piff in the summer and theres ber happy ducks. Man can munch on the greeness infront of the pond. Wavy settings.
