Reviews of The Needles Car Park

Very large car park on slight slope. Prices are £6 to £10 for day (July 2022). We were charged £6 for our VW Campervan. Very touristy at top of site. Very steep steps down to beach which is dog friendly. You can get down via chair lift (no dogs).
We went on boat round the needles. We went on slow boat which is dog friendly. You can also go on a jet boat which looks fun (no dogs)

I parked here and walked down the signposted national footpaths to the Needles beach, avoiding the Attraction area. It's a long steep walk, not for everyone, but definitely worth it in my view.

£6.00 to park on a rough sloping carpark.... Drop your less firm friends and family off at the main entrance to the Needles attraction before you venture in. Entrance is at the top of the carpark. Understand there may be a free carpark back down the road a little but never saw it.

Plenty of parking places, park at the top if your just walking to the Needles, park at the bottom if your going to use the Needles attraction facilities. NT members get reduced all day parking fee on production of valid members card.

Alum Bay is a bay near the western most point of the Isle of Wight, England, within close sight of the Needles rock formation along with the Needles Lighthouse. Alum Bay beach is undoubtedly one of the most picturesque beaches on the Isle of Wight. This mainly shingle beach situated at the most westerly tip of the Island is framed by the iconic chalk landmarks known as The Needles with the world famous coloured sands with 21 different shades creating a dramatic and natural shelter for the beach.
Above Alum Bay beach stands The Needles Park where you will find a range of attractions, catering facilities, a fully licensed tea room, retail shops and not to forget the Sand shop where you can fill your own shape with a choice of the Alum Bay sands! Alum bay beach can be accessed on foot via the steps taking you through the picturesque chine or ride the chairlift from The Needles Park. They were closed the day I attended because of the gale force winds sweeping across this part of the island. It was very difficult to even stand up the wind was so fierce. The No 7 bus runs every 30 minutes from Newport or hop on the Island Breezer. Guglielmo Marconi moved to Alum Bay in 1897 to experiment with radio. He installed a 40-metre radio antenna outside the Needles Hotel in Alum Bay. Initially establishing communication with ships offshore, by early 1898 he had successfully communicated with stations at Madeira House, Bournemouth and the Haven Hotel in Poole some 20 miles away. A plaque can be seen on this site now to mark his achievement.

£6 all day (one price fits all) which I guess is good, but we only stayed 2 hours so I'd want an ice cream brought to the car by a naked waiter for that price. 😂
Plenty of spaces though.

Free when we visited (March 2022). Chargeable in season, from April to October I think, but it's hard to find out exactly website isn't clear. Recommended if it's free, chairlift and most of the amusements were shut but I just wanted to see the needles and have a walk so it was ideal for us. If I'd had to have paid £6, I'd have not been impressed.

Very large car park which is close to the Needless attractions. It's about 1 mile to walk upto the National Trust New and Old Battery. If you have mobility issues there's a phone number to call which I would guess would allow you you to take your car up there. The carpark is free during the off season but £6 in the peak season.

Car park which is right next to all the facilities at the Needles landmark attraction. £6 for all day parking. Had to queue to get there, since there is only 1 road in and out, and we went on a busy day (although I'm absolutely sure it would get busier than a Thursday in the school holidays so maybe go early morning!). Despite the gravel car park being full, there was room in the overflow grass car park for us. I've knocked one star off purely for the cost - £6 all day is great, but I wasn't spending all day here, only a couple of hours. I know it's probably hard for them to check parking tickets with the amount of cars, hence they only offer one option of ticket, but it's slightly annoying having to pay that much for a couple of hours. Even if you arrive after 14:00, you still have to pay £6, even though they close at 16:00.
For accessible parking, there are some spots at the bottom of the car park, but please note the car park is on a steep slope, which might make things a little tricky.

People are not happy to pay £6 fort all day parking but currently, wherever you go on the island prices are steep for parking and here, it's the only place to park. However, after 2 or 2:30pm car park is for free so you can arrive late afternoon. To go to the needles and back took us about an hour and we are very slow walkers, you'll have plenty of time to walk around before they close at 4pm

It's better to describe this as a patch of grass of which cars are temporarily stationary rather than an actual car park. I would recommend turning up around 10 (although before 10 is better) as there are no queues to get in and you're guaranteed a space.
There is a £5 charge, but as long as you spend a day at the needles (easy to do) this is a very reasonable price!

I mean, if youre there for the day, £6 might not be too bad, but its pretty steep if youre only there to see the Needles and thats it. I wouldnt even describe it as a car park. It's more of a grassy, rocky plot of land where you leave your car.

Excellent. Very close to attractions and walking path.
Coffee shop and souvenir shop very near.
Well recommended.
Dogs welcome and wheelchair accessible.

Large, spacious car park located very close to the Needles Attraction shops, the bus stop, and the ski lift to get to the beach. Decent price for how long you can end up staying in the area and you even get fabulous views before even leaving your car!

This is a free car park for the visitors to
the needles point. You may not find markings and a flat floor. Yet there is ample space for parking.

The gentleman staff on Wednesday is very cool.

What to say uuummm this is the best car park I have ever been to its perfect for parking car..... only down side is they charge you £5 to do it no matter how long your intending to say.

All day parking charge £5 (April 2019). The car park is on uneven surface. When it is super busy the staff arrange for overflow car park which is opposite to the needles park.

Was very crowded, but worth to visit.

Quite reasonable parking for an attraction like this. There is a 20% discount for National Trust members, so remember your card.

Lots of parking available, £5 for the day with easy access to the Needles Park and the Old Battery sites.

Am morgen bis 10 Uhr, vor der Öffnung ist es noch umsonst.
Gute Parkplätze, zum Wandern zu den Needles, und auch in den vorhanden Freizeitpark.
Parkplätze, wie überall, überteuert.

In the morning until 10 a.m., before opening, it is still free.
Good parking, for hiking to the Needles, and also in the existing amusement park.
Parking, like everywhere, overpriced.
