A. S.A perfect place to the family for a walk, taking in all the different birds. Several bird hides to get that perfect photo of birds and nature
s. h.This is a lovely walk by the river. The recreation ground is kept well and is used for various things. Lots to see from a nature point of view. There is also the Heritage cafe with its little museum and beautiful garden.
Attenborough Nature Reserve also nice to walk to.

Into town along the Trent and then back along the canal.
K. M.Passed on a walk by the canal to the river Trent. Walked the dog and met many sociable people and other dogs. Unfortunately whilst using common sense and socially distancing in narrow areas this did not seem to apply to some cyclists who are obviously above the requirements of current behaviour. Pity but not to detract from a very pleasant walk.

Also a good place to stop for a coffee and snack at the Weirside Cottages Cafe, which is a restored building next to a canal lock.
Lovely garden and terrace to enjoy your break from walking.

C. F.Great huge field for lots of sports. There is a picnic place right next to the weir so you can look out onto the Trent. Nice place. My son loves the water on the canal in summer as its crystal clear and you can see the fish.
B. B.Park up at the Marina and have a walk round, passing the weir, along the Trent, then "inland" to the canal and back. The Heritage centre is a great little cafe, and is dog friendly. No loos, except at the centre, but do support it in exchange for the facilities!

A. C.Lots of wide tracks and paths for dog walkers and cyclists to avoid each other. Plenty of open space and on-site parking. A pleasant surprise - never even knew it was here!

J. A.Great place, nice circular walk following the Trent and then coming back along side the canal. They also hold parkrun there and there's a couple of cafés and pubs close by.
N. D. W.Great place to walk your dog/s with some element of freedom. Usually (not always) a tolerant environment for letting them off the lead to run and be free, playing ball or mixing in with some other dogs doing similar. Either use the huge playing fields area with in view car park, or go for a longer, on-lead circuit type walk with them on the paths nearby.
Downsides? Appalling car park riddled with potholes and like a quagmire in wet conditions. Occasional motorcycle riders riding across the playing fields, and the rare encounter with an aggressive dog/owner.
