Reviews of Central Park
M. D.
Park itself is really nice. The playground is just too small for the amount of people visiting and it's just not great. We usually go to the Park, when the weather isn't great to avoid crowds.
L. M.
Love the walks, all different routes/trails. Lots to do for everyone! Off lead for dog walkers, on lead areas too! Two small cafes for great cuppa coffee and a snack 😋🥨
K. M.
Love this place for walks. There's a great play area for children which is free and amenities around.
J. C.
Sweet park!!! Loads for all levels of Skater. Transitions, flat banks, pump track, grind rails, bowl with roll-in and ledges. Concrete and steel, a few cracks in the concrete but not noticeable when Skating.
Free parking 50m from the skatepark and seating around the park, if you can stop yourself from giving it a try.
Good for all wheeled sports, saw a BMX'er rip the place up. I was advised to go early on a school day...which is great advice. I've visited twice, first time on a sunny school holiday at 4pm, it was rammed, this visit 10am midweek, saw 10 skaters, a dude on a BMX and a 2yr old on a scooter.
The only downside was the place could do with a brush, there was glass in the bowl, and giant matches on the pump track, which made for awkward ride. But overall, it's a great skatepark. A must ride in Plymouth
V. P.
Really good park to go and take the kids to play has a fun water feature that's perfect for children in hot days, there's also a skate park and a cafe aswell as toilets and a beautiful walk that's great for dog walkers and parking is free
D. M.
So much to do and explore at Central Park, I often feel it’s very much underrated. Yes there is a minority that spoil it (don’t understand why owners can pick up after dogs! Particularly as some nice individuals leave accessible bags around the park). I mainly use for dog walking, occasionally use the play park with the kids but for me, on a quite misty morning there’s little better to improve my wellbeing! Just wish the council would be more on top of emptying the bins!
C. C.
Gorgeous park with lots of open space and activities for kids to enjoy! Brilliant for dog walks with open fields and wooded areas to explore. Lots of unique artwork which is fun to spot!
J. L.
Went to see Paloma Faith, supported by Chris Simmons and Lucy Spraggan. Just a great atmosphere, clean, well staffed. Would happily see another concert here.
K. G.
Lovely place, near for the life centre, and have a bus stop near by , and the playground is absolutely fantastic. ❤
D. C.
Standard city park. A few cafes and lots of green space for walking or picnicing
T. B.
Great Park, to have a walk and let the kids play in the park or run around.
Nice little kiosk for a warm coffee or tea and a little area to sit under if (when 😆) I rains
C. B.
Great space for kids to play in.
Lots of play equipment for kids of all ages.
Sand area, zip-wires, trick trampolines etc.
recommended.
N. V.
Great place for kids to play. Friendly cafe. Football golf, 19 hole golf course and beautiful walks around the park. Great for dogs and picnics.
D. W.
Lovely park, varied and big expanse. Great views.
N. G.
Ok I guess, some dog owners still don't follow the rule of keeping dogs on leads in certain areas.
The park itself is quite good,
Shame the cafe is so appalling.
No hot cooked food, and very very overpriced.
Go to the golf hut cafe, amazing drinks and food, and the owner is quite a dish in himself 🙈,all at low prices
A. R.
Great for dog walkers
And a great play area for toddlers and great cafe.Good surface for cyclists, there is also a skateboard park. Coffee shop fully open this park is a mecca for dog walkers.
D. M.
Fantastic playground in Central Park. Safe and great for the little ones. There's a cafe too.
L. H.
Lovely place visit regularly with our dogs, we all enjoy it here and the dogs have the best of both walk and play time here think they would stay and play Frisbee for hours if they could!
D. S.
A beautiful spot with so much to offer. Playground for the kids, walks for the adults and some of the best scenery this close to the city.
D. P.
I love going to this park. Always clean. Plenty of room for lots of children to play
C. A.
Love this park. There is something for everyone here. Although it's busy the walk ways are wide and there's plenty of grassy areas to step off the path in order to stick to social distancing guidelines. Unfortunately the playground is always busy so we will be waiting until we've all had a vaccine til we let the kids play in there. Thankfully there are plenty of smaller playgrounds around Plymouth for the kids.
R. G.
Great place to take children, well equipped play areas and lots of room to run around. One criticism is the huge amount of litter on the ground, mostly plastic drinks bottles.
K. S.
Beautiful park with plenty of places to walk, run, dog walk and explore. A few cafes and toilets. Playgrounds!
A. H.
It's the park that's central to Plymouth... Top marks for the name! Loads and loads of dog walking space and hosts the ParkRun every Saturday morning.
T. F.
Great day out. Nice big play park for the kids and a nice walk to do as well.
R. S.
Lovely park good for a long walk, jog or bike ride. Lots of green space and things to discover. Has a nice play park set on grass and soft rubber flooring, with small aqua park area and a few trees offering shade.
H. P.
If you are not familiar with it, the park is nicer and larger than you might think. The children's play area and cafe are lovely though currently closed during lockdown. Then there's all the sports and swimming facilities at the Kife Centre, again when it reopens.
N. N.
Really good play area for the kids, it has quite a few new things to spent the energy on. As an adult is hard to stay away and you might have a go as well. One area is for the toddlers and one for bigger kids.
G. l.
Love a good concrete skatepark and has lights at night although dont agree with parents using it as a recess.
C. W.
What a great place Central Park is for the children and for an outside space I can highly recommend taking the kids along grabbing a coffee and enjoying having fun there is a lot to for the kids to do. Swings climbing frames and trampolines.
E. C. L.
Had a great walk as always, with some stunning views across the city centre and Plymouth.
S. M.
Probably the biggest park in Plymouth. 15-20mins walk from the city centre. Lovely view of the city from the park. You can find the life centre and the Plymouth Argyle on top of Central park. Great space for a picnic or for an evening stroll xx
l.
It's a place worth coming back to with your friends, family or pet. Has a range of available places to go to as it's a fairly large park, owning a fun kids park, golf place, life centre and other things. There are a lot of dog owners that come, but it is possible avoiding them by not walking on the main paths of the park. In spring when everything blooms, variety of gorgeous flowers grow and enchant the park. I'd recommend getting to know the park and it's interesting pathways.
K. C.
Great for the kids. Wish the splash park was bigger still. The kids loved it though, especially with the addition of the bouncy castle area.
B. A.
Busy but that's a good thing. The cafe is good. Walking distance to life centre and Home Park. Kids love it. Water comes on on hot days.
Z. A.
I love walking in Central park with or without my dog. There are so many different routes and beautiful spots to explore.
A. M.
What a fantastic open space to visit and relax in. This is a great green space within a great City. It is a beautiful place to walk on your own, with the family and with the family pets. Plymouth Argyles stadium is on the edge of the park. There is a mini golf course, play park, football and rugby pitches, and a leisure centre with courts swimming pool and diving pool.
There is a skate park within the park which my children have enjoyed using for years.
M.
This park really safe for children, they have some facilities for family trip. Two cafes, toilets and larg play area for kids. Separate spaces for football, rugby cycling and running.
J. H.
Great park for the kids to play in and so much to do. Also have a cafe but time we got their it was shut
l. b.
Grew up playing in this park. Now I still go for walks in it. Great to take dogs or children out. Small play areas and various other areas to check out. There's a "swamp-like" area that hasn't been tended to for years.
R. E. &. H. A.
An ideal little park here to help tire out my little girl. Only put 4 stars as some of the items don’t work and don’t seem to be maintained, some which would affect mobility impaired children.
A. T.
Enjoyed visiting here while it was 1 of the hottest days. It surprisingly wasn't overly packed and it was great to see the water was on for the kids to go and cool down too. Clean and tidy with an awesome play area
D. S.
Great playground and perfect for walking the dogs. On Sunday morning there is a big car boot sale by the park. Also by Life Centre, where there are swimming pools, café and gym.
S. M.
Brilliant park very big had a lovley afternoon down there nice cafe big fields.... fun fair comes down from time to time also... footy pitch
G. P.
Great place for the kids to play and enjoy the weather. Bring a picnic or there is a small kiosk to get snacks and drinks. Well worth a trip in the holidays.
t.
Good park with ample playing areas
Sandy play, water play, skating , cycling
Parking free
M. M.
A lovely place for a pleasant walk. Plus the life centre if you want to be active, plus coffee stops.
C. E.
Been visiting Central park for years, lucky enough to live in the area so always meet friends here with our children, gorgeous walk, water feature in the park for the kids in the summer, cafe on site, sit in or takeaway, lovely place to visit.
S. B.
Beautiful park in the heart of Plymouth being made even better with brand new facilities such as cafe, fantastic children's play area and public toilets. And it's dog friendly, although there are some areas were leads must be worn it doesn't subtract from my dogs enjoyment in any way. Thank you Plymouth council for investing so much into a much loved place.
A. B. B.
It is a lovely place for running and for families. Sometimes it is too crowded.
A. P.
Great park for my 2yo boy. Large grass areas, smooth paths for bikes/scooters.
Multiple different play areas depending on age/ability.
Only had coffee from Cafe which was nice. Lady who served me was friendly.
Relatively clean toilets.
Large car park.
Faultless really.
W.
We went to play frisbee golf and had a brilliant time. The children's play area is very well stocked and the whole park has a relaxing feel. Will Defo go again.
A. &. R. S.
Visited with our children of 11, 4 and 1 - something for all ages and they really enjoyed it. Not obvious where the park is from the car park but a short walk and it can be found.
C. Q.
Lovely park with many quirky things to spot
S. B.
Great place for the kids to play on a sunny day. Cafe is good, but total chaos, bring a sandwich and a flask, save your sanity!
K. M.
Great place for a walk, lots to see and do. The views from here are outstanding.
S. K.
Fantastic, right on our doorstep. Lots of things to do and can be used to walk into town via a picturesque route rather than along the road
B. H.
Good facility, my grandchildren love this space.
J. T.
Watched Ball and Boe, absolutely brilliant, what an amazing evening and experience. Thank you so much.
A. W.
Lovely place shame more plants could be added and play areas for children
g. h.
Lovely park for the kids, with coffee available for the grownups
s. j.
Loads for the kids to play on and dogs on leads plenty of space to run free and play if the parks are to full.
M. R.
Great place for the kids to have a run around. Also lovely walks in the park.
Y. H.
Good busy fun though only 2 baby swings and not a huge amount for toddlers the big kids kept taking over the little bits there was
L. D.
Love Central Park, these trees are at the Pounds House end where I used to spend (unauthorised) time with my DHSG mates. Hope the improvements to the park do it justice, we're very lucky to have it.
A. P.
Amazing place to go with kids, children's park, life center, golf club, skate park and more!
p. l.
What a fantastic day for the Tom Jones concert. The rain held off. Tom Jones was at his best, belted out the hits and his latest hits. The organisation was brilliant with the food and drinking stands, all laid out across the venue.
J. W.
Great for dog walking, well managed paths
x.
Went to see Paloma Faith and it was a terrific gig. It was easy to find via car and I was shocked to see free parking!! I had to double check it was free and it was. Lovely park and would like to return even if I wasn't going to a major event.
W. B.
I went to see Tom Jones with Freind. It was fantastic. We met some really lovely people. What a great time. Food was excellent plenty of variety. Tom was amazing
A. D.
Beautiful part of Plymouth. Only discovered this place after finishing my first year at the university. Also a great place for exercise or even a brisk walk. Certainly recommend for anyone either living in Plymouth or visiting.
m. p.
Excellent place to just walk or in my case walk the dog.. Spent over an hour just walking.
S. P.
Always a favourite with the kids. Walking, children's park with seasonal water features, and an abundance of geocaches.
M. H.
Often attend this park, has multiple entertainment areas for the children accommodating all ages. When the colder weather comes in the water features are understandable stopped. Some fantastic walks around the central areas and a local pitch and putt. Great cafe now on site which serves food, drink & ice cream. I would say the best if not, top 3 in Plymouth. Kids love it.
M. P.
Parkrun. Always run well. Park was quiet apart from park runners.
K. A.
Great facilities very pleasant and ample parking
S. R.
Just such a nice park to go walking in 👍
A. P.
Really lovely place to visit and the children absolutely love the park. Shame other visitors cannot be respectful though as there was a lot of rubbish on the floor by the picnic area/ kids play park (there are bins provided) . Really enjoy walking the dogs here too!
B. h.
Free parking. Very big park, nice for walks or picnic
r. b.
Nice oasis in the middle of Plymouth. Had an enjoyable game on football golf.
i. m.
Lovely Park and kid's play area
P. W.
Brilliant toddlers play group all outside with natural play areas a must for all youngsters 👍 mud pies and mischief 👍
L.
Went for a walk with friends and stopped at the lovely grass- roofed cafe for a decent coffee and cheese and onion pasty. There's an all- weather outdoor seating area and it's popular with dog walkers. Don't forget to walk down to the nature trail. It's also only a short walk into town or Mutley Plain through the park.
D. L.
Great afternoon with my youngest granddaughter bouncy castles ice cream play equipment rec whats not to like
N. M.
Went to see Baseball game on Wilson Baseball Field and it was great. Kiosk close by for some refreshments too.

Lovely place to walk and the play park is fab for kids to burn off some beans.
H. B.
Lovely spacious park with a little cafe for hot drinks and snacks. We are yet to try the play park yet as it was closed when we visited. Only downfall is the lack of parking.
T. W.
Lovely big park plenty to don
J. D.
a great place for just a stroll around or walk your dogs also a great place for children who have loads of spaces to run around and also a fantastic play park also caters for skateboarding and great scenery.
J. E. M.
Played on the bowls green last night. Heavy going due to surface and rainfall during the day. Still unable to use the upper green, which should have been ready for the beginning of the season but isn't. Facilities were opened up just after we arrived and provide adequate changing and facilities.
S. C.
Enjoyed my first parkrun here today. Also have planted trees here when at work. And maintenance of the various allotments .
L. K.
Lovely open space. Children's play area well kept. Toilets could do with being cleaned more regularly as no ventilation made them quite smelly of urine (visited at 1pm).
R. R.
Great park need more with water kids loved it
D. B.
Although weather was not great, very calming experience
H. L.

Well maintained with a nice little cafe to get a drink and snack. Connects to the life centre and has a new park being built for kids.
E. B.
have visited a few times during the day but popped in last night to look at the moon with my friends - very creepy! super pretty but definitely something lurking in the trees. the picture i’ve attached shows some kind of large glowing eyes which only appeared in one photo out of the 3 that my friend took at this spot by the graveyard!
J. P.
Wide open space, Pitch and Putt, Children's play area, dog walking, but certain areas they must be on a lead( there are fines issued if not on a lead) Coffee/ snack shop. Lovely place to go as a family.
R. S.

Central Park. Alma Rd, Plymouth PL3 4QL
Large green space and gardens at the heart of Plymouth. Criss-crossed with paths and cycle rides. Incorporating; car parks, sports complex, football fields, skate park, 9 hole golf-links, lawn green bowls, hard tennis courts and a baseball diamond. Lots of mature trees. Periodic Circus of Fair Base standing next to the brilliant children's playground..
Fountain central clock tower & café on the south walking tree lined esplanade. Great views of Plymouth. Next to Home Park stadium, home of Plymouth Argyle FC.
K. Y.
Went to the Circus with Kelly and the girls. It was fabulous.
A. B.
Lovely place to visit, brilliant park for children. Lovely walks, fields for games , small cafes dotted around and toilets close. Can spend a few hours here.
M. T.
Great area to walk around with the dog and take your children to the park. Places to buy snacks/ food
S. P.
Loved it grandchildren wete happy so it was a great day.only down fall the coffee and food were so expensive so will take me own next time
J. R.
Huge park on the edge of Plymouth. Took my dog for a walk and he managed to find all the splodgy mud. Lots of dog walkers around. There's an arboretum but it was too dark to see. Spent an hour just wandering in the dark.
C. G.
I really love our Park ...what else is there to say ...
J. P.
A lovely park for everyone to visit. It has a sport centre, children's play area, two outside cafes, a skateboard park, outdoor bowling green, pitch and putt and home to Plymouth Argyle. I walk there but there are two large car parks and on a main bus route. It is popular with joggers and dog walkers and is great place for meeting up with friends.
P. S.
All good
N.
One of the largest clam and quiet place in Plymouth. Most people spend time with family and friends. Also pet friendly place.
It's including children's playground and golf ground.
I think we can also play football in there . Green Wally filled with trees 🌲🌳🌴. Each and every corner connecting the city, so everyone can access.
L. 1. M.
Looking good if was you had little ones walk through central park when it's dark if I don't have to worry about excited it's xmas
B. P.
Lovely place to let your dog off the lead in nice designated areas.
k. c.

🐅🐆🐕🐩🐈🌳
J. C.
Just passed thru but what l saw was good
T. A.
Bella loves going to central park, meeting other dogs and chasing squirrels. Would recommend to other dog owners, you can grab a coffee on your walk around and they have a good park and skate boarding park for children.
G. D.
Few park activities broken, unfortunately not maintained as they were broken a good few weeks ago. But nice to take the kids for a 'burn out'
J. C.
A nice big open space of grass and a play area for the kids with a couple cafe shacks we were only there as the fair was there
L. T.
Was very busy but my niece had a good time.
m. u.
Perfect park for families
E. S.
My lo enjoyed playing here
N. H. P. N.
First time I've been for decades. It was absolutely packed with people but taking the grandkids to the park and fun fair was absolutely great fun and the kids loved it
J. U.
It is a nice little park, in the heart of milehouse, enjoyable for all ages, there's also a cafe that serve all sorts
J. S.
Large park, great for walking with plenty of wonderful hidden wonders. Great for dog walking or just exercise in general. There's a cafe next to a park for the children, so you can stop by and have a hot drink while your child plays away. It's overall a good park especially when it's so close to the city centre.
K. T.
Don't no looks good if you got a family's
S. R.
A very nice Park for a walk,a picnic
And a nice playground for children
d. b.
One of the best piblic play areas. Great playground, sand pit, skate park. Coffee shop. It's git it all. Well done Plymouth.
L. G.
So many lovely old trees and great views across Plymouth.
K. S.
Great place to take the kids.
T.
Reviewing the play park. A large area which is fenced contains an area for younger children, including a lot of sand, swings and tunnels. Some big slides and climbing equip. Outside you have stuff for the more grown up kids, including a zip wire, rope frames (including one which is about 10 meters tall) and a water feature (which never seems to be working when we are there in the summer). Bravo Plymouth City Council.
S. R.
Went with friends to take toddlers to the play area down from the life centre - it's incredible. The variety of activities for children of all ages. There are fenced off and gated areas to allow younger children to explore without worrying they'll run off.
It really is impressive. The water section is very popular, letting kids run through sprinklers and under fountains. It's on a timer though, to activate the water you have to stomp on pads in the floor. Once it stops it needs 5 minutes before you can start it up again.
There's also a giant sandpit.
The older kids activities look really fun and challenging too. There's even a "zip wire".
Looks like they're doing a lot of work to the place and it's worth it.
S.
Central Park provides wonderful walks and places to explore. The children's play area is excellent.
You will find all walks of life here; runners, dog walkers families and couples.
The park is big so there is plenty to explore.
It is clean and has public toilets.
Public transport is very accessible and there is ample free parking if required.
Lovely on a Sunday afternoon!
L. A.
Been to the Circus not as good as 2019?
T.
Always clean and tidy, great views, large open spaces for a variety of activities, great for walking, dog walking, cycling, kids activities and sports.
H. M.
A quiet oasis in a bustling city. Perfect for families, walks with friends and pets. One of Plymouth's many beauty spots in the heart of the city.
C. :.
Now that the refurbishment has been done, really good quality park. Kid's loved it! Sand area, climbing web, water features, etc. Can get very busy but it was a bank holiday and the sun was out! Loads of free parking fairly close, if the closest carpark is full use the park and ride one. New cafe looks good and has toilets.
P. C.
Always good and the circus was amazing
J. W.
A good place to walk your dog. There is a cafe at the Life Centre but also one by the mini golf course which is useful as you can sit outside with your dog. The new children's play area was enjoyed by lots of children.
M. H.
Lovely big open space with a great playground for the kids and some great views. Even has a skateboard/BMX/Scooter park. Definitely one of the better parks in Plymouth. But if you want a decent coffee maybe bring your own as the cafe’s wasn’t the greatest!
k. r.
Nice clean toilets and great for pug walking and meeting up
S. B.
Huge play park for the kids with a great variety of different equipment to play on, catering for toddlers to teenagers. The kids loved the water fountain area, and having inflatables up on the field was good too.
There is a small cafe by the park, but options were limited, especially for drinks. Inside the life centre, there was another cafe which was much better for choice.
M. E.
Lovely dog walking park and a couple of take aways for hot drinks and snacks. Just be careful of the 4 fields around the clock that are dogs on leads. It is enforced and carries a fine. Lower down you can get out of the wind and higher up are good views across the city centre and the Sound.
A. M.
New Park is fantastic. Really good range of activities for children of all ages, not just the bigger ones. The water activities are really good fun on warmer days and the fenced younger childrens area is an excellent addition to the larger, free space of the rest of the play park. Life center nice and close for toilets and refreshments, and a new cafe is on the way.
A. n.
Very good park, loads of things to do, and a womderful place to walk the dogs
S. R.
Was close by gory vaccination so took advantage of the free parking. What a lovely park. I had no idea that there sad such a large green space here. Lots of people buf loads of room so did not feel crowded. A small funfair also.
P. E.
Still a lovely place to visit great place to take your dog for a walk. At the moment the fun far is there
A.
My granddaughter (3) had great fun there. There is an excellent play ground for the smaller children and another for the older ones. Lots of lawn as well and there is a great indoor swimming pool nearby. Also there was a special attraction in a softplay fairground with several bouncy castles and slides. Don't know how long that will be there though.
J. F.
Saw Michael Ball and Alfie Boe, fantastic show.
R. C.
My child loves going here! Picnic and suncream and you have yourself hours of entertainment! Free parking in the large carpark by the football stadium
M.
Not a bad park but maybe unwise to go there in the afternoon when the local weed smokers are transiting thru after picking up .....
G. O.
Very large expanses of grass with trees and hedgerows. Good access with lots of paths - some of them steep. Dog friendly. A newcomer could get lost!
Fun-Golf & coffee shop.
There's a new miniature Skatepark and extensive children's play area with a meal serving cafe.
E. D.
A lovely place to walk your dog. Good facilities in the centre next to and in the life centre. Walking routes are well marked and there's a large play area for kids again next to the life centre. There's also lots of parking there.
P. T.
Great place to ride, walk, take the kids the dogs and quick access to parks food and the sports facilities. You will see a few groups doing yoga or people using the allotments.
g. m.
Great park for walks and play park for children. There's an events field, new sports facilities being built and a cafe being developed. There's space to walk dogs, enjoy nature or just relax.
B. m.
Went to rescheduled Tom Jones concert.
Great location for an outdoor concert. Field was well set up with seating, standing room and a small court of food and drink stalls at the back. All bars were cash free and tokens had to be purchased from booths dotted round the site.
Could have had more toilet facilities, and there was a bit of a jam when leaving at the end.
Park and Ride was excellent, made getting to the venue easy.
All in all a good experience for my first concert in over 18 months.
P. D.
Just love walking around this area. Lots of open space for people to enjoy and take their children and dogs. There are parks and cafes to football pitches and golf and skateboards. It's the home of Plymouth Argyle football club. And Plymouths life centre for fitness and swimming and diving etc.. it's a very large con beautiful area. I would reccomend this all day long .
O. S.
Nice place to relax. It is wonderful to see .
s. f.
Great for walking the doggie, shame the zoo isn't here no more and the boating pools
E. S.
A really lovely place to walk and meet other like minded people
C. W.
Very large city park with large play park too, well maintained with lots of different routes you can take. Some flat others very step. Disabled access is good, with large car parks near to Plymouth Argyll football grounds.
e.
Lovely place to run or walk. Nice for the children on their bikes, a fantastic playing park, for older children with their skate boards. A great day out for the family.
C. W.
Very good range of children's play equipment, suitable for all ages and easily accessible. Bit of a walk from the car park. Café looks good but there was a long queue for ice creams. Given it was school holidays and was a very sunny day, more staff and opening the window to serve ice creams would have seemed sensible.
D. W.
Great kids park, especially the water park bit, great fun! The only let down was the new cafe , wasn't very impressed with it. Needs a bit more organisation, a few menus would help. Went to get ice cream for my daughter and myself, but no list of what they had. A bigger selection would be better, and a price list.
P. M.
Great place for walking. Vast open spaces with good paths in the open as well as through lovely woodland.
C. F.
Lots of space to run, walk the dog ride a bike or just relax. There is a lovely play area for the children. There is also a pitch N putt golf course, Frisbee golf and foot golf course which is open from 8am until dusk every day.
D. E.
I love taking my grandchildren here. I live in Callington but the drive is definitely worth it. There's so much for them to play on and it feels safe and welcoming.
L. j.
Very nice time at Central park very family orientated amenities good nice coffee
t. j.
Strolled along the foot paths with the dogs on a beautiful sunny morning and stopping for a coffee in the new cafe watching all the kids laughing and playing in the new adventure park... a very good idea and move bye Plymouth city council well over due and well presented..
P. m.
You just can't beat the views over Plymouth from Central park. Looking over the city center and on to Plymouth sound. Fantastic.
P. B.
Great parking facilities, a lovely walk, great areas for kids including a huge skate park. Cafe facilities always great, the chap who runs the ice cream shop up by the footgolf deserves credit due!
S. B.
Excellent place to let the kids let off steam.
Can get quite busy in the play park on weekends and in holidays.
C. C.
Great for running, walking and dogs. Kids park, leisure centre with swimming and gym etc restaurant and cafe. Football golf and plenty of space to have a kick around with the kids or mates.
B. R.
Lovely kids park and cafe, always busy, great place for kids to socialise with others whist enjoying the vast amout of play apparatus. The cafe for after or as a break is great and well priced, take card and cash and plenty of seating inside and out. Bigger park outside the fence for the older kids. Wheelchair accessible.
H. G. V. M. P.
Nice place for the relaxing 😌 😎
A. g.
Lovely large park with a nice view of the sea. Lots of walking trails, tennis courts, pitches and games areas. The playground is nice too for kids.
N. P.
Lovely place to walk your dog, take a stroll or take kids for football. Has a range of parks including a fantastic childrens play Park that has water activities on hot days. They hold plenty of events throughout the year and car boot sales on Sundays. Argyle football stadium on site as well as the huge life centre which has swimming pools, gym, sports etc..plenty to do for everyone.
S. T.
It is a nice place for an afternoon out. There are play parks, open fields, golf course and ice cream vans. It is fun for everyone. Also houses the Life Centre which contains toilets and a café and Plymouth Argyle football club. Nice gardens and little bits of history can be found around the area.
K. M.
We went to see Tome Jones and had a great night. It was my first time visiting Central Park and I can not believe how big it is. Wish I lived nearer so I could go on walks with my family.
R. f.
Great place to bring the kids, (Once there isn't a lockdown of course) it's a great place to walk around and there is a cafe and toilet facilities, and also Plymouth Life Centre is nearby. Of course, lockdown and Tier rules do mean that some places may be closed or have restrictions. But either way, it's a great place to go to
M. H.
The park overall is lovely. But I spent the day with my toddler and he keeps hurting himself at the area with the cafe and play area near to the swimming pool. The steps from the cafe to the play area isn't toddler friendly. There is a sharp gravel pavement under each step and is at such a distance from each step that any toddler can easily trip on its border then face planting the concrete step. My toddler has on both occasions tripped on this. The first time grazing his knee on the very sharp fixed gravel covering and the second time visiting, hitting his head so hard his head swelled like an egg. We had to visit the argyll stadium to get a paramedic and doctor to check him out while a game was playing. Keep your little toddlers away from the cafe steps. They are a perfect accident waiting to happen to little ones heads and knees! Apart from that the park overall is lovely. But as a parent this one area knocked my score down to 3/5. Overwise the park is 5/5 for anyone without a very mobile toddler.
S. B.
The Plymouth Memory Walk for the Alzheimer's Society was held here.
J. H.
Very good play area, lots of space and things to do for all ages, also cafe nearby to sit and watch.
M. C.
Really nice green space.
I would ask for a couple more of toilets, as yesterday I could not find any. But great options for tennis, rugby, even minigolf for a sunny day!
M. F.
It's a lovely park. Very large. Lovely play area.
Next to plymouth life Centre.
Easy to park.ideal to walk your dog.
Great place for all ages.
Lovely place to go for a jog.
To take the kids.
S. G.
A City park. Central park has a hive of various activities available. From a gentle walk to running bowls tennis.and a childrens play area.! The Life swimming pool currently under a new programme of forth coming events. Take a bus on the park and ride.
N. L.
Wide open space, if you haven't walked around here you certainly should, there is a lovely coffee stop for snacks and drinks. Plenty routes to take around the park so doesn't have to be the same route all the time.
P. R.
Central Park is one of Plymouth's Crown Jewels. Wide open spaces, play areas for children, golfers, bowlers football enthusiasts plus plus. There needs to be cleared paths/ signage to some of the less popular areas such as Pounds House, and the Hidden valley. Pounds House needs to be open to the public and there should be a slow running stream through the valley bottom
j. m.
Lots of lovely walks easy to access and parking is OK on nearby side streets. The funfair wasn't bad but the bouncy castles gave my kids 2 & 6 lots of fun.
W. L.
The park is great for kids of all ages! However the cafe is lacking and disappointing. Choice of items on sale is slim and overpriced. The card card machine seldom works, have cash ready if you want an expensive bite to eat or a coffee.
J. B.
Love the playground & space. My gripe is struggling to understand where dogs can be offlead & the continuing drive to reduce the areas.. however strongly in favour of dogs not to be allowed on playing fields
G. J. (.
Visited Central Park while going for a blood test at Home Park.
It's such a good place to sit down and chill whilst watching people out exercising their dogs or themselves.
I was trying to remember how the back of the life centre was when we had the old sports centre.
It has changed so much for the better I'm pleased to say as the view from where I was sitting has been improved.
The park was very clean and tidy which is a reflection on the hard work the staff have been doing so to keep in it's current condition.
A. M.
Fantastic place for a dog walk. Has a great park, cafe, toilets, wooded areas, benches.
Only thing is some routes are a dog on lead area. Great for children can easily spend hours there
S. F.
There are restrictions on dog walking you need to be aware of. No dogs allowed on any fields with markings on which is just about all of them. Consultation is being considered to make this worse also as people must have a boating lake which removes the one field we were allowed on.
If you keep your dog on a lead it's a pleasant walk although cyclists, scooters and skaters are allowed to travel at any speed it seems like along the paths.
There is a massive play area for children, a cafe, tennis which needs to be pre booked and a basic golf, foot golf and Frisbee golf course.
E. B.
Visited the new cafe today, lovely staff and a delicious selection of cakes. The cafe overlooks the children's play area so is perfect for people visiting the park with their little ones.
A. C.
Great big playground facilities for children. Toilet facilities available. Great way to spend a morning or day if the weather's fine
B. M.
Really impressed by the play equipment, kids loved it. Skatepark could do with a little TLC to clean it up a bit, bit overall good.
K.
A great location to just get away from the city. There is wide open spaces for everyone to enjoy even when it's busy there is still plenty of space to move around. Just get out and take a walk around the park and you will feel alot better a blessing it's In our wonderful city.
g. N.
Plenty to do here lovely walk kids play area, foot golf, Frisby golf, pitch and putt, tennis courts and football, baseball pitches. Cafe near the play area and the life centre when its open.. Still very nice
C. M.
Great Park, but wish both areas with play equipment would be fenced in. Kids can vanish very quickly when its busy.
K. G.
Great park, kids loved it, plenty to do and nice that there is a coffee shop/cafe next to it for the grownups
G. S.
It's a nice park with a couple of cafe's , I can't put my finger on it but the park is lacking something .
M. R.
Great Park and fantastic skate park definitely recommend.
O. D.
Wonderful place to spend some time
V. C.
Amazing play park! I enjoyed it as much as the 7 year old I was with. Good day out and friendly cafe with great pasties.
M.
Golf hut is great friendly place for food and drinks.
Meet Paul at the hut he has the unbroken record for the course.
The park is very big with lots of room for runners, dog walkers etc.
Toilets are in the Life centre and at Meadow side Cafe by the clock tower, another friendly cafe with good range of food and drink.
Parking, lots of it at park and ride.
PCSO officers Nicky and Cathy are friendly faces often Seen patroling the park.
A great place to go, large enclosed children's adventure play area by Meadowside cafe.
M. D.
Great play areas also football golf and chip n putt cafe tennis and good for walking
A. B.
Great park for the kids to play in. Lots of places for walking and cycling and places to eat too. An abundance of space, green space.
J. T.
Fantastic area for kids and adults. We went to an inflatable theme park this bank holiday weekend and it was fantastic for kids. Great wide open space for kids and adults alike. Highly recommended.
J. H.
Lovely grassed area plenty of space for a picnic and parks and sports centre for all the family
V. C.
We regularly travel to France with our dogs using Britannia Ferries via Plymouth. Central Park is close to the port, easy to find, and the perfect place to let our dogs have a run around before and after a long ferry trip.
Central Park is well maintained with lots of facilities for all and a beautiful space.
T. C.
A great play park, nicely divided into toddler and under and wider areas. Swings, large slides, zip wire, water area in Summer. Something for anyone 🙂
M. C.
Great park , lots of open space, also home to the Plymouth Life center , has a cafe aswell, a skate park and sometimes a fair and circus when they are in town
m. f.
Amazing place for day out with kids.
A. w. r. a. c.
Nice park for children to play
H. W.
I went to the play park with my kids and I was really impressed with how clean and tidy the whole place was, all the kids stuff was in good condition and there was so much for them to play on that it didn't feel over crowded even though there were quite a few people there. It has a sand and water but as well that my kids love playing with!
S. J.
Lovely walks & open spaces. Good kids playground but sadly no wheelchair accessible equipment.
R. K.
Fantastic place, great dog walks and the grandchildren loved the parks
D. B.
It's a park with plenty of paths to walk, not really sure what else you can say
Clean and tidy
C. T.
Central park is a local green space with plenty of areas to walk and to keep fit, it has an excellent children's play park and also a skate park. Home Park football ground is the home of Plymouth Argyle. The Life Centre has a variety of sports facilities including a climbing wall and Olympic sized swimming pool with plenty of parking. There is also a Park & Ride to get into Plymouth City Centre and shops.
R. B.
Lovely park in good location with loads of parking nearby. Fantastic for the dogs, as well as for the sports.
D. O.
Bike ride
F. I.
I really like the new Park. However disappointed that the fence wasnt complete around older kids park, and no gate on other side of smaller kids park, which means dogs can access.
Also disappointed the cafe is nowhere near finished April 2019
M. R.
Lots of building work going on - new cafe - and a great amount of graffiti around near skate park which is a shame! New childrens park is lovely and well thought out.
Z.
Lovely piece of Green space in Plymouth. Well upkept by the city council and good for picnics with the kids. Dog friendly and with a new playpark opening soon it's ideal for a cheap day out. Would recommend.
C. G.
Nice big park good for all ages. Lots to do for the whole family. Really enjoyed it.
p. t.
Great place for the young ones
A. O.
This is an actual great park. Sport courts, kids park, plenty of tracks for running, skate park, cafes, mini golf. Has it all. Plenty of free parking also.
M. S.
Pleasent place to take children. New cafe that was very much hyped was a huge let down for such a huge park they really didn't invest in many tables seems like a huge waste of space. Besides the cafe wonderful place for kids.
K. T.
What a night.. Paloma Faith!! Epic
J. N. (.
Lovely stroll around the park, plenty of dogs... out walking there species of canine!! Definitely a must if you're a people watcher!!
J. S.

Was admittedly disappointed to find out that this wasn’t THE Central Park. Lovely place, though.
S. W.
Lots of people around for Boot Camp. Scared.my puppy..even so was a lovely walk.
K.
Some of the equipment is poorly designed but there's a lot there so you should be able to find something fun.
G. P.
A park since 1928. Bequeathed to the children and people of Plymouth. No housing to be built on this land.
Miles of walks in woodland and grassland on paths. Large children's play area aged 2 to teenagers. Cafe, Skateboard park, Golf course, cricket, tennis courts, football, rugby and baseball pitches.
Also Plymouth Life Centre (closed until April 2021 for repairs) it's a swimming pool diving pool, indoor bowling. squash, Gym & athletic hall.
J. H.
Concert in the park great facilities.
G.
A very large park in the central area of Plymouth. Lots and lots of activities to do e.g golf, football, basketball, tennis, swimming, gym, bowls, running and skateboarding. Dogs are also aloud in the premises on a lead. Large walkways mean no traffic among people and the scenery is beautiful. There is something for all the family here meaning no body is left out. Plenty of benches and tables for picnics or resting. Plymouth argyles football ground is also inside the parks grounds. Cafés and refreshment booths are dotted about meaning you can satisfy a hunger or thirst. Overall this places is fairly clean and well kept.
K. N.
Great place for dog walkers and families with kids or just meeting a friend for a coffee. The new park and cafe are lovely and the staff in the new cafe are really friendly.

E.
Gorgeous park, foot golf was fun, life centre is fantastic. So many good views across plymouth.

J. H.
Brilliant fun. Plenty of parking, lovely walk and nice play park.
J. A. R.
A wonderful park for everyone. There are a great many paths throughout the 5miles radius for plenty of family fun including dogs who are allowed off lead everywhere except in the big childs playground n cafe n the area around them which is clearly marked n the spectacular Pounds House is another area where dogs must be placed on a lead. There is a tap on the outside of the cafe where water bottles may be refilled for free. There is also a gym called 'The leisure centre' which provide good facilities for health n leisure n a cafe. The park is also home to Plymouth Argyle FC which also has a shop which is open every day n later on match days. A lovely place to visit
M. S.
Central park, Plymouth is a great place to visit of course the home of Plymouth argyle. Plenty of spaces to explore and Anderton & Rowland fun fair is there til 12 of may.
t. s.
Very good park just needs some up keep as it seems to have been let go abit, twice a year maintenance definitely needed
N. B.
My wife had a covid booster shot, so I just had a wonder about, very nice too, enjoy. 👍
S. D.
Large park. Currently there is a building project, possibly a cafe, which would be good.
Good size play areas for kids, including sand pits and water fountains.
G. U.
I love this place because I grew up here. Huge green spaces, lovely tree-lined walks. I wish they'd stick a Munich-style beer garden and restaurant in the middle, for me it's crying out for that. But I love it.
C. B.
Lovely park here walks or a bike ride child friendly and dog friendly
S. E.
Central Park in Plymouth is a great open space to run, walk dogs and push prams, play football golf, Frisbee golf and actual golf, at least the pitch and putt part. The park has just had a £9million refurbish, with a great new café, children's play paradise and tennis courts. The bowling club has also been extended. The park rolls like Devon hills, so you can get up to a good speed on a skateboard, but there are also flat walks on the Eastern perimeter. And it's close to town, the Life Centre and Home Park football ground. A jewel in Plymouth's crown.
S.
Nice place for the kids. Can get busy at times but still fun
J. M.
Lots of area to explore and the location of Home Park Stadium and the Life Centre. Also has Golf, Frisbee Golf and Footgolf Holes so make sure to check them out aswell
M. R. “. D.
My kids loved the park, great variety for different age kids
a. c.
Most of time too many dogs not on lead, can't walk without one running across, sniffing, running up to you or trying to tear your bag open especially weekends. I go through several times a week but don't stop to enjoy the birds calling.
J. L.
I visit here twice a day everyday with my dog's...
Drainage is awful in the winter...
Grass needs cutting more in the summer
And put some toilets in...... families are on limited staying time on summer picnics etc cos there's nowhere to go to the loo !!!!
S. B.
Great place for a walk, to take children to play & have a drink, a snack or just chill out.
S. G.
Great for kids. Could do with more benches close to some of the the equipment for grandparents like me to sit on whilst I wait!
S. S.
Excellent Park and amenities, lots to see and do, 🤗 love it x
D. P.
Staff in Caffe not got a clue but the park is amazing
M. T.
Great place to walk the dog. Beautiful wooded area and fields
S. R.
Nice cafe
M. B.
Lovely place. I tried to jog around here once. I lasted two minutes then just sort of gasped a lot and walked instead. Although if you're a single male walking around here without a dog, people stare at you as though you're some old perv.
J. S.
Foods amazing. Good selection of beers and cocktails.
Staff are always really friendly and the food comes out really promptly so if youre hungry then that's perfect.
Highly recommended (have been many times and never had a bad experience).

Lovely outdoor space for everyone to enjoy 😊
D. H.
Lovely area for fresh air, walking the dog. Great play park for the kids. Golf course, life centre. Something for everyone.

As if Central Park isn't enough, Circus Extreme turned up, slack jawed, mouths open, we stared at phenomenally skilled maniacs risking all to thrill, entertain & scare the bejesus out of us.
S. H.
Lovely wide open spaces. Very very busy today. But plenty of space and grass for social distancing or staying in a small group.
w. l.

Lovely open space for a good walk with the dog has a great little coffee hut and everyone is happy and friendly
There's quiet little spots to sit down and relax too as well also it's getting a makeover so watch this space as there's more activities coming
B. A.
I've been bitten on my thigh when riding my bike in a cycle path .
The dogs owner had the greyhounds on leads but hadn't put the muzzles on them which she was holding in her hand.
If I was a small child riding a smaller bike it would have been my face that was bitten.
It's not only dogs that are off leads that cause trouble!
C. P.
The first time I have been. A lovely green environment, beautiful trees and a super playground for kids.
D. E.
Really lovely walk, would be great if the path was divided and directionally marked to avoid big crowds heading towards you
j. e.
Best place to go to chill
M. S.
Xmas day park run was great, really good turn out!

I could do with a bit more play equipment for older ones because most of this is for younger children and I just find it boring everytime I go there. But apart from that thet have the life centre for toilets, drink, food for after or before park.It also has Argyle F.C next to it which can be noisy sometimes. What about little children?I find it surprisingly interesting that there are tiny little wood statues by the woods part as you journey through Central Park.😀
