Reviews of Reading Borough Council Broad Street Mall

We were staying at the Pentahotel hext door. The hotel does not have parking but has a 40% discount rate with Q Park some 300 metres away. However even with 40% off Q Park is more expensive than the council run car park at The Broad Street Mall.
On today's rate Q Park wanted £19 for overnight parking where you had to quote entry and exit times. With 40% off that's still £11.40.
The Broad Street Mall has a range of prices climbing to £6.10 for 4 hours then jumps to £8.10 for 24 hours so cheaper for overnight parking.
The car park is clean, well lit and modern. Access via the underground loading bays is ok but take care on the curving up and down ramp if you have a long car it's a bit tight. We have an E class Mercedes and were fine but judging by the war wounds plenty of people have scuffed alloys or bodywork on their way up or down. I’d imagine 4x4s will be ok height wise but not Transit can size vehicles.

A vibrant pedestrian only street right in the centre if Reading. Most variety shops, coffee houses, Banks & Building Societies and a department Store is situated in Broad Street.
The main Entrance to Oracle shopping centre is also in this Street.
A great shopping centre with great shops, restaurants, department stores, branded names, and coffee houses. It’s a very well managed. There are two multi-storey car parks attached to the nearby Oracle centre and a few more nearby walking distance in Reading town centre.

Well it's a car park, not overly high but adequate for the large Range Rover type vehicles. It's in good decorative order with good signage and the spaces themselves are good enough even for the larger car. Quite a windy entrance and exit. Number plate recognition is used which speeds up your exit and the prices seemed reasonable for a town centre.

My go to shopping mall in Reading. Plenty of good shops inside and outside.

Its OK if your in that area of town. Not well lighting there. Fills very quick if your in Hexagon area its okay for quick parking. Staff are neither here or there but great assistance if say you have a problem with your car. Right in the centre of town too so close to Shops and Bars and Restaurants. Don't try parking here during busy times as your better chance Oracle car park on Lakeview side of shopping centre.

Nice Cheap car park by comparison. However, if you have a big car/are precious about your alloys/not the most confident driver in terms of knowing your car, don't park here. very easy to badly curb your alloys.

Great rates for weekend parking - definitely favourable to a lot of other Reading car parks, particularly if you're staying overnight. (Cheaper than the travelodge recommended carpark, even with the discount code.) Having lost our ticket the over the phone assistance were very helpful (once we got hold of someone).

OK car park that is very convenient for the Hexagon theatre. There are 3 floors so quite a lot of spaces, however the entrance is obscure and it isn't very wide to go up a level, I often see suvs crawling up and hitting their tyres on the kerb. It's expensive at the weekend although they have a cheap offer in the evening and an early bird offer during the week. The main thing here is that it's located on the western side of Reading so you avoid the insane queue of cars trying to get into the oracle.

£2 p/h pay on return. Cash/Card accepted.
PROs:
1. Closer to High Street than Oracle.
2. Very close to Hexagon, Escape Room Reading and COSMOS Buffet.
3. Great disabled parking spaces.
4. Plenty of space on Sundays.
CONs:
1. Very narrow ramp with extemely tight turns.
2. Very low ceilings.

Cosmopolitan and heavily diverse place

Very narrow ramps and uneven floors make for a uneasy parking experience, good location for shops though.

Absolutely lovely guys tonight working on level A who came to my aid when I had a flat tyre. Can't thank them enough.

Amazing mall. Can't wait for the Iceland shop that will open there soon.

Expensive, 4 hour max stay and be prepared to wait 20-30 mins for a space at peak times.

(Translated) Not a very modern car park, at 8 pounds for 24 hours on the weekend but very cheap and you are right in the center. To do this, you park in Düsseldorf for just 2 hours. The illumination is controlled in the dark by motion detectors.

Kein sehr modernes Parkhaus, mit 8 Pfund für 24 Stunden am Wochenende aber sehr günstig und man ist direkt im Zentrum. Dafür parkt man in Düsseldorf gerade einmal 2 Stunden. Die Ausleuchtung wird in der Dunkelheit über Bewegungsmelder gesteuert.

Ok
