Reviews of River Hamble Country Park
P. R.
Very easily accessible from junction 8 of the M27. Some lovely walks with views across the river Hamble. The Barn at Barnfield is a nice new cafe on site. The cakes and coffee were lovely. Good for kids and adults alike.

Haven't visited for two years and it's changed quite alot, there's a new cafe and toilets which have only been opened a few months.
Staff were very friendly and the coffee was lovely and not too pricey.
We always go to Barnfield as there are lots of things for the kids to play on with nice open spaces for ball games or running around and it's a nice walk to the jetty for crabbing.
Parking is now number plate recognition so you pay at the machines (card only) when you're ready to leave.
We were there three hours and paid £6.

Lovely walk today along the River Hamble in the country park. Woodland and water a good combination.

Love this place. Lots of little or long walks. Car parks and a cafe. A jetty to crab along and boat rides. Have to pay for car parking
C. N.
Beautiful country park also good to bring the ķids for a walk alongside river

We took the grandchildren to Upper Hamble river country park this morning and was very surprised with what we had found. I have seen on the Eastleigh council newsletter that they were planning some redevelopment at this site, with a new cafeteria and toilets along with an updated play area for children. There are also some really nice picnic tables located around the area which are really well suited for families out on a picnic day. There is also some really nice walks down through the woods to the Riverside where you have the opportunity to mess around on paddle boards or kayaks on the River, and there is also a small pontoon which can be used by children who wish to go crabbing. All in all it's a very nice country park which families can visit for a fairly inexpensive day out picnicking.

A rainy day for our visit but great woodland walks, lovely cafe and facilities. Even a machine to Bath the dogs before you pit them back in the car if you wanted at a reasonable price. I can imagine it being lovely on a sunny day and very busy without being too crowded.
D. K.
I haven't explored much of the park ,however been down to the Pontoon, such a great spot to do crabbing, swim, boating.
A nice wooden play area for the kids,a
cafe and toilet facilities close by.
A mobile dog wash unit is useful.

A lovely country park with many walks & bike trails.
Walk through the woods, over fields or along the river or do all three.
You can set off from here in your canoe, paddle board etc.
There is a cafe & other amenities.
Bbq, picnic with the family for a day out.
Just off J8 of the M27 & follows the signs.
Pay to park.

What a great place for a walk, cycling and relaxing by the river.

Took the Dogs for a walk at the Park. Lovely new path system from the Manor farm car park. Only issue was could not get the pay machine to accept google pay. Just wanted to say a big thank you to Jim who paid for my parking but would not take the money from me.

The Barn, newly opened cafe in Hamble Country Park. Friendly staff. Choice of cakes and well priced hot and cold drinks. Lovely way yo spend a couple of hours walking in the Country Park.

This is a beautiful spot on the banks of the River Hamble. We went there on foot yesterday (Easter Sunday) which was an hour each way from our house. There were very few people there, probably because the car parks were closed. One family included a young teenager who jumped into the river off the pontoon. The weather was warm and sunny and it was very pleasant. The bluebells were not yet at their peak so we'll go back later in the week.

Great views out across the river and the new Barn with cafe makes it an enjoyable day out
M. K.
It was a multi family visit on the occasion of Queen's Platinum jubilee. Beautiful park. Enjoyed the visit

We didn't really have a plan when we set off but ended up here only thinking of having a picnic. Had to pay for parking which we didn't expect but there was nice vegetation and mushrooms to observe, the trails were nice and plenty of spots for a nice picnic. It was sunny and the river view was fantastic
Z. M.
Great day out with kids! Lovely spot for kayaking, crabbing, beautiful scenic walk, a lovely play area and a barn. Whats not to love?
S. G.
A lovely place to visit, with some nice views out across the river.

The River Hamble Country Park is beautiful! The cafe barn is under construction, and looks amazing. 😃
My 2½ year old LOVES the 2 wooden pirate ships in the playground area. There's so many different ways to play and has something for all interests! (photos show the pulley buckets that my little dude enjoyed filling and emptying with his dad). 🤭
We walked to the left section and followed the Strawberry Trail whilst exploring the woods. It took us to a section of steep steps, but lead up to a higher section with lovely views on the River Hamble! We've also walked on a trial to the right and got closer to the water - which was a popular spot for people to head to with kayaking equipment 🤗
It's also enjoyed by lots of dog walkers 👌🏻 you have to pay for parking before you leave the site and the barrier should lift automatically 👍🏻

This is The Barn. Fairly newly opened. Good choice of drinks and snacks. Worth the walk to it.
Staff friendly.

A stunning woodland walk with play areas for kids and currently under construction is a cafe area. You can easily spend 2 hours here or all day. Parking needs to be paid for at the end.

Took 3 children here (13,11&9) and they loved it plan to go back in warmer months for a picnic here
D. O.
Me, my 11 year old, and my 6 year old had a great day here. Loads to do, nice walks, and the play area is good fun. If I was being picky, the play area could do with a swing. We will deffo go here again, may even take the wife!
G. C.
Beautiful area with walks, picnic, countryside and river. Super day.
K. B.

New play area opened 10th April 2021, much improved! Bring your crabbing kit and walk down to the jetty which is a short walk even for small kids.
Plenty of space to play ballgame, have a picnic or just explore the woods.
If you get bored Manor Farm (off the BBC 2 wartime farm show) is 100m away!

Brilliant spot for a walk and panic. Well maintained walks with lovely views of the river. Parking was on the more expensive side at £3.50 between 1-2 hours.
