Reviews of Telford Town Park
T. L.
What an absolutely stunning facility for everyone to use! One of the best play areas in a long way!! Quite frankly, a world class play area and that says a lot having been to play parks around the world!
Great bike tracks and so close to the Telford Shopping Centre for all the food and shopping g you can do on top of the day at the park! Definitely worth many visits!!
S. O.
If you are in Telford, you have to visit the Town Park off Southwater, it's an amazing space full of foot & bike tracks, places for the kids to visit including the Exotic Zoo & Wonderland. Lots of areas to enjoy picnics looking over ponds & water features.

I grew up in the town, so know it very well.
Telford Town Park is acknowledged as one of the best for entertainment, features and great for family and kids, not just in the West Midlands, but nationally.
It has Green Flag recognition six years running, which is a mark of quality. It's not a sales line, it's a statement of fact, but if you think Iam biased, visit for yourself.
The park has at least two duck ponds, climbing frames, climbing bouncy tight ropes etc
It's open from early up to 8/9pm Monday to Saturday. Closed slightly earlier Sunday.
It's right next to Telford Town Centre with plenty of different shops to buy from and walk through several acres of scenic park landscape.
Give it a go, you won't be disappointed.

Enjoying a nice walk and a go on the playground for the kids..
Nice to see SPRING is on its way...
Narcissus breaking through the rotting leaves on a beautiful sunny day

I cannot begin to express how much I loved Telford Park. My daughter who is 10 and is wheelchair bound loves playing on parks but often gets upset that she cannot join in.
Here was not an issue. She was finally able to play on equipment with her baby sister and LOVED being able to go in the wet play area.
Safe to say it was an emotional day to watch her play and join in like any other child her age. Thankyou Telford Park for thinking of children like my daughter.

What a beautiful park in Telford. So many activities for young people. A large lake with wild life apparent. Short walk from Holiday Inn Hotel to shopping centre through the park. Plenty of eating places. Excellent base to visit other attractions in the area e.g. Blists Hill Victorian Village, Ironbridge, Coalport China Museum and Bridgenorth another historical town with a Fernicular Rail. I bought a Pass Plus ticket for £37 which entitles me to a yearly pass and 10% in cafe and some shops. Definitely another visit needed.
R. C.
Fantastic for both adults and kids, but especially kids! It has everything you need, plenty of play things, water activities for the summer, cafe/eateries, ice cream vans, hot/cold drinks, toilets and wash facilities. Ducks, park, grass areas for sports or picnics, plenty of seating and best of all it is kept clean and tidy
A. R.
Telford Town Park is a beautiful part of Shropshire on the edge of this modern town. Ideal for short/long walks, cycling, jogging, dog walking etc. Also beautiful lakes where fishing is possible on some of them. Easy access too to Southwater and the shopping mall.
Very enjoyable and worth a visit.
M. Z.
Amazing park for all age groups, though you have to pay for Wonderland and Zoo but apart from that the park itself has a lot of attraction for you. We went there to see a festival
K. H.
Beautiful area, lots of interesting things to see and fab for geo caching
A. K.
Big park starting in the centre of Telford. Was pleasantly surprised when discovering this place. Lots of stuff for kids plus great walks and nature trails. Loved it
T. K.
A large park with a good mix of environments and activities.
Pleasant to walk around with both accessible and rough paths. There is woodland and grassed areas, some more formal planting and areas of heritage interest. The central area includes frisbee golf, kids play areas and a climbing/rope adventure zone. There is a food stall (shut when I visited), visitor info (ditto) and kids wet play area.
It's nice. Quite central, too
M. L.
A great clean and tidy park with children's play areas, climbing, bike hire, lakes and lots more.
E. H.

Yes well worth a trip
A. W.
Lovely park for all ages. From sand to bark to bouncy floors it's great for all ages. Always clean surroundings too it's like being completely out the west midlands away from home
A. P.
Stayed at holiday Inn had a great weekend for the hot air balloon festival, really good hotel great breakfast, swimming pool and hot tub where good as well. Brilliant little town also with loads of restaurants, definitely visit again.
A. J.
Excellent area for walks and cycling. Well sign posted for visitors like us. Activities children and adults, not all open when we were there mid week July
a. m.
Telford town park is a lovely place with lots to do, places to go and lots of walk.
Only downside is there is a lack of places in the park for refreshments and the ones that are there are expensive.
The toilets are only open when the visitor centre is too. Bit of a pain if you have small children.
A. A.
Love to this place for the variety of walks. Good place for a picnic walks or just relaxing. The woods and lakes are beautiful the trails very interesting. If you need shopping the shopping centre and good court decent too.
S. A.
Telford town park is a great place. Plenty for children to do, lots of places for parent/carers to sit.
The shopping centre looks like it has had a revamp, very nice.
T. S.
Lots of activities for the family. Busy during school holidays. Plenty of places to eat. Pleasant walks around the large park area. Much to explore!
P. R.
The perfect place to chill out and relax by a lake or go for a walk. The scenery is great and the wildlife is magnificent. Love Telford☺️☺️
F.
Great for running and biking on hard road as well as on parallel forest trails. Green, quiet and with perfect smell of the nature. Planty of entry points and free parkings along the roads.
E. K. H.
This place has undergone a massive transformation since I was a child. I've not been for a good few years so was amazed by the change. It's very upmarket now with a great selection of restaurants/ a cinema and park with all sorts for all ages. I look forward to taking my little one once he is big enough!
M. S.
Great place to go, people come from all areas to visit! Great for all the family! Good place for children to burn up thier energy too.a real jewel for Telford.
V. M.
An amazing, beautiful and relaxing park to walk through. It is best to visit in the Summer months as it looks quite lifeless in Winter and you'll get the best photos that way.
It is also relatively close to the shopping centre and the pond. So if you like to escape the noise, this place is perfect for you! Personally, I'm amazed on how many extra amenities there are near to the shopping centre, and this is what makes Telford a more interesting place.
I. W.
Lovely park and woodland areas. Plenty of trails to go off along. A few pools dotted around and the Stirchley Chimney from its former days as a brick works. Lots of picnic areas to watch the wildlife and enjoy the peace. Disc Golf and Exotic Zoo there too.
A. N.
Extensive park covering a big area, (parking was a bit dear though for main areas)
j. b.
Great children's playground.good fishing I'm told at least three pools
M. G.
Large green space with plenty of variety for visitors of all ages. Loads of parking (not free). Various events held during the year
C. R.
As this is quite close to us we practically live here when the weather is good. Enough to do to stay all day with plenty of play equipment and space for children to play. A small water park for in the summer is a nice bonus. With Wonderland also situated here it's perfect for the family.
T.
We took our 22month old son to wonderland in telford and he loved it, there was plenty for him to do and see even though some of it was closed, due to the corona virus
A. C.
A great park, all pedestrian, plenty of good quality park equipment and amenities are close to play areas & shopping/eating centre.
The park itself has had over £3m spent on it over a decade and it shows as it distinguishes itself from all other parks in the West Midlands through the size and quality of play experiences for children.
There isn't even a park in Birmingham to rival it. The water park is fab in the summer and the rangers do a great job keeping the whole place neat and tidy.
R. W.
Telford Park is a fantastic place that inspires the imagination of young and not so young alike. There are characters from children's books that are lit up in the evenings and magical boat rides across the ponds.
Fishermen sit on the banks always willing to swap tales of the one that got away.
Beautiful picnic areas are enclosed by trees. Of course the amazing range of shops can be found if you look. Or take a boat ride over the misty pond to get there. Enchanting.
O. O. A.
It was an amazing time with the family. The story about the place was real; the pond, amphi-like theatre, the connecting walkways, sit-around arenas, the fresh breathe atmosphere was second to none, green lush was beautiful, the kids didn't want to go home despite the freezing weather on the day of visit, the playgrounds are awe, and the shops provided for our needs... A place to come again and again.
A. A.
Always enjoy spending time with the family here great place to visit but I have to say the balloon festival was definitely lacking this year
A. O.
Me, my partner and my family all went to Telford Town Park to watch the hot air balloon lights and the worlds strongest man. I use to live in Telford and I haven't been to the town park since it has been updated and I can truly say they have done a fantastic job. It's such a beautiful town park now, if anyone ever has the chance to go I would recommend it. There's loads of playing area for the kids, lovely restaurants and many more.
B. D.
Telford Town Park is a lovely place right in the middle of a busy town. So much for all the family from play parks, high ropes, Wonderland, water parks and woodland trails. Deffo a fun day out!!
M. B.
This is a pretty good park, some good play areas for the kids with plenty of climbing frames, slides, etc. It was tidy I didn't see any anti-social behaviour while there.
S. A.
Awesome day out for kids. They loved all the play parks. In summer they have a water park also. They have a Zoo there now aswell. Sand pit with diggers was loved by the little ones.
D. C.
A lovely park with a café for refreshments and ice-cream. Excellent kids play areas. Situated next to Telford Town centre so plenty of parking.
M. S.
Great park. The large slides are closed, but everything else is open. Best to go either really early or really late. Gets very crowded during the day.
P. H.
Went to the park for Tears for Fears concert, very well organised and a really lovely park and surroundings, plenty of food and drink options. Would not hesitate to return in the future,
A. S.
Please visit !!! Such an amazing park so much for the kids and adults alike.....clean and the play areas cater for all ages.
There's even a small water feature / play area for the kids !!!
Go check it our!!!
J. M.
Large park with amenities. Not as good as Milton Keynes but sure the kids like the equipment. Paths need a bit of work and more entrances would be beneficial.
S. T.
Beautiful location, perfect for a day out and picnic, pools, park, trails, much bigger than I expected
F. P.
Just lovely. I was only up here for a 3 day conference at the International Centre but each morning and evening I was out here enjoying the wildlife and views. Wish I had more time to explore.
M. T.
Great place to walk your dogs in the centre of town. Could do with a little TLC in paces as a few of the benches and board need replacing, but its a bit of tranquility that you can wander around for an hour!
S. P.
I went here with my grandchildren and had a wonderful day that cost next to nothing. Great day out for the family
J. A.
Very nice and tidy park awesome for kids definitely will go again
K. G.
Good place to go with any ages, grass areas & lakes for the adults to walk around, 4 different big play areas suitable for different ages for the kids, a multi games area for teenagers. Just avoid the area at night / late evening as the place isn't very well lit and you get all sorts of people hanging out there after dark.
R. L.
Fantastic park. Lots of trails to walk or cycle. 8 lakes. Tea coffee and toilet facilities. Kids activity area and high ropes actively.
H. S.
Free park for all ages. Beautiful walk around lake. Lots for kids to do.

G. A. U.
Plenty for the kids to do..... From the playpark, sandpits , water activities and sport. Plenty of places to eat and drink.

A huge park well maintained with lots to do.
There's plenty of cycle paths around the park with cycle route 55 going through leading to Ironbridge on the Silkin way. Cycle hire and a coffee shop are situated in the centre. I still haven't seen all of the park yet, I'll keep coming back.
T. F.
Take the dog for regular walks around Grange Pool a lovely place among many others
E. S.
Beautiful surrounding gardens. My daughter filmed her music video in the area and had a shoot.
V. G.
Good selection of play areas for all age groups. Several nice gardens and lakes to walk around. When the weather is nice the water play area is open allowing children to have a good splash around. We have never tried the crazy golf but there is an a crazy golf area.
M. T.
Walked from my home to town through the park, you feel as if your in the countryside, and yet so close to amenities, beautiful and free for all to enjoy.
J. G.
A huge effort has been made into improving and adding facilities to the park. There's something for everyone here.
D. R.

Love this place, brilliant for a wide range of ages. There are several play areas. All play apparatus is safe and clean, well kept to say that it's outside. Kids never want to come away. Only a short walk from the town center and shopping center. Good to combine the two.

Very good town park. Big, various playgraunds, visitor centre, small lake with birds. Beautiful gardens in the centre. Many shops and restaurants nearby. Nice cickling roads
G. H.
Excellent free public park and play area, with an array of play equipment for all children. Coffee shop and toilets available, and easy access to parking and Telford Shopping Centre. A great amenity for the town.
W. E.
as the southwater centre expands the park gets better, lots of free stuff for the kids to do, the sensory garden is done and nice to work round, very smoothing, the main part of the park cycle or run (where the saturday 5km park run is held). one thing they need to sort is the swan/duck/geese pond, it becomes very unclean and stinks to high heaven.
N. i.
My daughter absolutely enjoyed it. It was lovely seeing teenagers at different service points as well. The community is really giving back.
d. c.
As a family we love this outdoor space, great for walking, running, cycling or just exploring.

1. A place extremely fit for all age groups. 2.Huge number of rides and water shower park for kids as well as amazing natural beauty that grown ups can enjoy.
3. Many fitness rides for kids too.
4. The park community arranges many events of several sorts every week.
5.Find a place under a tree and start a novel.you can easily finish half in a stretch.tried and tested.👍🏻
6.Its right outside the Telford town centre and number of restraunts are around. So food shopping and enjoying at park all at one place.
7. Also there is Telford and Wrekin library right outside the park if you want to visit.
In short - I find it the best place of Telford and Wrekin.
J. B.
So varied, wilderness to play parks and right on the edge of Telford Town Centre. Sky Reach High Ropes is the newest thing to do... Look out for holiday clubs at Bat Run 🦇 😃
A. S.
Lots of choice here and not too crowded and all within walking distance of where we were staying
k. h.
Lovley park, cycled about 3 miles with my husband and son on what ate very good paths. Plenty of things to see and stop and have a picnic.
F. M.
Took a friend and her kids here for some entertainment. The kids had a great time and I did too! Grab a digger and move some sand or watch your kids on the slides - lots of fun. And, there's a pop-up coffee stall nearby for mums and dads. If the pop up is closed, you can always grab a hot beverage from the Costa or Krispy Kreme in Telford Town Centre.

This park is HUGE! And I mean seriously HUGE! Kept to a very high standard of cleanliness, I saw more park wardens out in force in my time here than I've ever seen in my local park.
Lots of options in terms of trails to walk through and not a single piece of rubbish. 👍👍👍
J. C. (.

R. C.
It is brilliant it has every shop you can think of. I was born there (Telford) but moved when I was 6.... So going back 42 yrs later is weird as there was only 1 shop when I was growing up there and a Van used to bring you groceries and food that you bought from the back of it... I can highly recommend anyone to go there 🙂
E. P.
Really good place to visit with children, also to get shop, eating in differents restaurant and with lots of attraction in one place.

Absolutely superb park. Can't rate high enough
N. K.
Beautiful sunny day in Telford, life is so much better when the sun shines.
A. M.
Brilliant place, had lots of fun. Met Santa, Mrs Claus and many others.
Ruined a little by a lady from Rainbow Facepaints. They had a sign for facepainting to ask for seasonal facepaint, or traditional designs such as spidermanor anything else.
My son was set on Darth Vader, but the lady didn't know how "so I'll just do the Grinch", she said, whilst my niece was having Batman. My son, who is 6, asked for Iron Man instead, but the lady said "no, let's just do the Grinch". I could see my son welling up.
Her colleague shouted over and offered to do Iron Man if we waited, at which point the first lady basically stormed off outside, making it clear that "it's because they haven't had a break today" and her "head was spinning".
I calmed my son down, because at 6, why would you understand the issues of a middle aged woman not being able to cope with being asked to do a design she was unfamiliar with, despite having a sign to ask for anything...?
The 2nd lady did a great job, but the experience was marred by the attitude of someone who clearly doesn't like children....or at least, not at 15:30 on a Sunday afternoon when she'd had enough of painting the faces of children who were looking to her for a little more excitement.
Wonderland itself, however, was great....just don't bother asking The Grinch's sister to paint anything.
W. M.
Nice park. With a sand pit. Plenty of play equipment for all age groups. Clean toilets and hot drinks available. Pond with ducks. Lots of bars and restaurants near by walking distance. With shopping centre. Lovely day out.
M. W.
The actual park is absolutely fantastic and a credit to Telford and it’s people
Unbelievable facilities and such a pleasure to spend time there
The grounds the trails the walking running biking are an absolute gem with miles of walking trails woods and nature trails it’s magnificent
My only criticism is the motor bikes quad bikes and even some rogue cyclists that plague the area
The local yob element daily race up and down the trails which are meant to be motor bike free at speeds of 50mph plus with total disregard for people of all ages trying to enjoy the beautiful park
It’s dangerous intimidating and totally ruins the joy of walking in beautiful settings
Yesterday I saw a frail old man nearly flattened by one of these yobs
Luckily he was ok a little shook up but ok
The thug just carried on no sorry see how he was he just rode off a despicable way to treat our older citizens
It really needs some policing because from my experience the situation is getting worse and worse
But guys it’s a great park and something Telford should be so proud of
A. T.
Great day out for a family. Very good value. It will be better when they add more catering facilities other than just a hot drink.
J. S.
Very busy day, great event, well priced food and drinks
A. A.
Best, free, and biggest park ever only problem you will have is getting the kids out if it!!! Great for all ages, has a water play area, sand/digger area, assort course, plus 2 more areas for younger kids and one for older, pretty gardens, loads of places to sit, grassed area and picnic benches and seats. Clean loos, pretty ponds with ducks, tonnes of restaurants right next to it and cheap crazy golf.
C. M.
Beautiful place for a walk, really nice and well kept. Lots of benches for a stop
T. K.
Love it. Live right next to it. The Jewel in the crown for Telford
K. L.

D. L.
Visit this place as frequently as we can: the park is a lovely green area and the children's play areas are great for children of all ages. Separated play areas for younger children with varying sizes of climbing frames and slides as well as a sand area with manual diggers.
Regular activities planned by the local authority with big and small events, some free to attend and some ticketed but quite well managed and run.
Cafe in the information centre near the children's play area and outdoor snacks and drinks kiosk (not always open).
S. N.
An amazing park!
There's so much to do here. Adults can join in to. There's restaurants and multiple park all in one space. It's pretty awesome. I visit every now and again when I go to see family. Its massive so be very vigilant when your kids decide to run off because they are so excited to play on everything.
My favorite park to visit.
I like parks where there is a variety of things to do for the kids.
I was told you can hire bikes here too.
Win win 😊
S. R.
Always something to do. Plenty of parking and lots of places for a coffee/tea and an ice cream for the kids. There are activities dotted around too of you don't just want to use the park.
L. T.
Great for children. Nice walks. Good facilities. Great location near to the centre
S. B.
Lots of walks even found some hidden waterfalls
W. S.
Well worth the money great day out with my grandsons.x
M. P.
Plus do with more pay meters located around the parking areas to avoid unnecessary queuing
R. J. (.
This is a large public space with plenty of walks and playgrounds to keep all ages entertained
D. T.
Brilliant place to bring your children.
Lots of open space, a brilliant set of parks for all ages.
Lots to do and its tied in brilliantly with all the famous eateries, bowling, cinema etc.
Really can't say enough good things about this place.
A must visit!
H. C.
Our family love this park. We have had lovely walks here, enjoy having picnics here and the children love the playground area. Recommend to anyone visiting Telford.
C. C.
An amazing place to go anytime
W. B.
Good but every fertility ie loo's and centre.we had a family afternoon played wide game enjoyed the time there.
S. S.
Excellent park and quite big. There's loads of parking lots nearby but none in the park itself.
Very clean and well kept and huge play area. The water park was closed unfortunately.
A. B.
Love spending time with the kids there picnic sunshine and a event one
S. M. (.
Brilliant Day Out With The Kid's! 😎😎😎
k. h.
Absolutely amazing park with lots of activities and play areas.
S. K.
Very large play areas. Sandy areas for kids and swings and slides suitable for all ages. I like that areas are separated according to age. Kids and adults can feel safe. Water area for children in summer. Very close to beautiful gardens and a variety of shops.
S. N.
Great place to visit with children or just a nicechilled walk around
S. P.
Very good place for spending time over weekends with family , mostly less crowded and peaceful , if there are any events organized at this place, it turns out to be more lively and busy place..
L. g. t.
Peaceful walks, playtime for the kids and fishing lakes. Great place for mentally calming
E. S.
This is a wonderful park - so much to do for all ages. As well as loads of playground equipment from toddler to teen, there's a sand pit, water fountain play area, bike hire and many different gardens. The visitors centre is very close to the younger children's playground, which is very handy for the toilets. The centre also sells snacks and hot and cold drinks as well as the usual bits and bobs that you'd expect.
Be aware that there is a large duck lake which is only partially fenced and this is hard by the younger children's playground and visitor centre.
R. O.
My son's favourite park! Lots of attractions for kids of all ages! An adults could have some fun too😀. Splashing area, little lake with ducks feeding and walking distance to Wonderland makes it great place for family day out! Recommended and tested 😝
K. K.
Just a fabulous and huge open area with lots to see and do for grown ups as well as for kids. We went to the Exotic zoo and it was fantastic (cheap too)
E. L.
Lovely place. place with easy access to high street shops, library and pubs, restaurants. Also very close to town park with nice lake and lots of playground. Great place to spend summer days out with kids. Also lots of events.
M. T.
We have lived in Telford for 44 years, we have watched and walked around the town park since it's early days, we have always enjoyed our time spent here. The park is now excellent to spend time in, plenty of things to occupy children and adults alike
S. M.
Lovely formal gardens, great play areas, helpful staff, pretty golf course for an enjoyable hour. Concessions very pricey. £3 for a Mr Whippy!!
s. m.
The best town park in England
D. D.
Lovely place where to go out with family!
C. E.
Always a lovely day out 😁 very clean and tidy with lots to do.
J. P.
Brilliant safe park, kids will always have a great time.
J. B.
Plenty of nice walks, very nice garden with a lot of quiet places to relax. There a wonderful garden called wonderland aimed at entertainment for children. Finally there is a boating lake which is close to a wide variety of places to eat.
A. W.
Great family day
T. h. b.
Unfortunately on the day the wind was blowing to much for the hot air ballooms to take off but they had a great range of food stalls and some music 🎵 so was a good day it all
P. H.
Brilliant town park. Excellent. Head for Dark Lane car park or park in the town centre. Do not follow Google maps directions as it is a residential street. Dark Lane car park is pay and display - cash only. £2 all day on Sunday.
A. S.
We visited during the balloon Fiesta. The event was good, the park is large with plenty of stuff for kids to do.
Z. A.
Excellent facilities and lots to do with kids. Great exhibitions on the Chorley Pals and the contribution to the war effort. The gardens where in bloom when we visited in late August. The house has a fascinating history which the friendly and helpful staff are happy to elaborate on. Will maintained with lots of information and history provided.
M. G.
Lovely space, could do with a spruce up
H. D. M.
Great park, we were staying at a hotel locally and didn't get much time to go around the park. Definitely on the list for next time
R. C.
Must be one of best parks in the country,my Great Grand Cildren would spend all day everyday there,we go several times a week.👍👍👍
R. V.
The park is beautiful and so was the walk to get there, but there were too many people there in close proximity without masks, so put mask on and distanced to feel more secure.
J. H.
Absolutely fabulous - magical and the best wonderland and santa ever.out littl grandson 2 1/2 was totally mesmerised. Fantastic. Only 1 big issue is the park has no lighting leading to wonderland which was pitch black and a good walk. Council wont fund lighting! But the wonderland and all staff - brilliant
H. B.
Great family event as ever
P. M.
A real treasure of a find.
Brilliant open air spaces + play areas to die for.
Superb slides, giant spider web climbing frame, balance + trim trail.
Lots to do with all the family.
Visitor centre + great toilet facilities-all set in amongst acres + acres of green space.
If u fancy a view, there's a go ape type of affair next to the play areas.
If u want indoors, there's ten pin bowling or ice skating within earshot of foodie places.
Walking distance of the town centre.
M. L.
Great walk around the park, lots of family friendly activities to do.
P. P.
Brilliant place for families with kids in all ages. Beautiful surroundings make this place, perfect for a walk and cycling.
Near by are coffe shops, restaurants, shopping centre and cinema. All in one.
S. W.
Telford Town Park has something for everyone - beautiful foliage and grounds, play areas for the kids including an adventure playground and huge undercover slides, an amphitheatre, a fishing lake, bike hire, Wonderland and lots more. It really is a delight.
Y. T.
Could spend hours enjoying the facilities...everyone attempts the obstacle course but it's very hard in places near impossible. Sand area is great for little ones. Water in Lake needs a little attention. Swans looked beautiful.
D. H.
Brilliant place to go and plenty to see and do for all of the family, I recommend going
P. D.
We are lucky in Telford that we have great parks to spend our free time in, Telford town Park is one of them it has a great mix of activity’s for young and old a like, from the formal gardens to the play park which has separate zones for older children and younger ones. There are toilets and a cafe close to the water park area. There is plenty of parking close by in south water, which has a great mix of bars and restaurants. A great way to spend the day.
j.
It's a good little circuit for a little ride
J. M.
Something for everyone, super accessible and just a wonderful place for the family (including the fury kind) to stretch their legs and have some fun!
S. J.
Hotel was spotless, quiet and comfortable. Breakfast had plenty of choice, well cooked, pleasant staff. We ate evening meal in the bar because the restaurant had very little choice, mainly steak, and nothing we fancied at all. We wanted a nice meal with lots of veg. Ended up with fish and chips which was good, and not on the restaurant menu, but not what we wanted.
P. A.
Lovely park to visit
Nice play areas and they had a small fair which wasn't too expensive
Not impressed with ice cream van nearly £9 for 2 ice creams
M. B.
The Wonderland area seems to be pricey at first... However, the cost gives younger children (10yrs and under approximately) free rides with an indoor good sized ball play area and a range of decent outdoor activities over a manageable size area. Alongside this are friendly child entertainers dressed as various characters from Alice in Wonderland; all of whom, as well as the ride operators, seem to enjoy entertaining the children with songs, dances, photos, music and other activities some with free biscuits!
D. W.
Vast green area, lovely walks in and around the park. Outstanding woodland, wildlife.
Recommend.
C. W.
A great asset to the town. Great for walks alone, with family, friends or dogs. Lots of great events take place here throughout the year from concerts to family free treats.
L. B.
As they are always making renovations, building and bringing in new things there is always something different to see when you go to the south water quarter or the grass bowl(such as the bit top tent with all the new exhibitions and entertainment going throughout the 6 weeks holidays.) Recently the spider web had been renovated and it's now green and I've seen even more people going on it and playing on the park and walking within the town park to see what's going on with the events they're putting on. I've never had a bad word about the place or the people who go through it and use it. I love that they are constantly striving to improve the family area and the social aspects of it as they are important for the younger generation as well as the older and give people something to do so they don't get bored. More interactive objects and features have been put in and it's improving the look of the area and encouraging people to come in and see the town park and use it.
P. R.
Take a bag off spare clothes and a towel. Fantastic day out. For families old or young. Great picnic spots and toilets on cite for babies and disable. There's even a hot snack shack
J. S.
This place makes us want to move to Telford. Came here after a day at Wonderland and it's just perfect for a picnic. Loads of open space, right next to the town centre and loads of activities for children. There were easily over 100 people there and we still enjoyed our privacy. Highly recommend it
s. W. j. j.
THE park is huge, it has one of the biggest out door play area for kids that I have seen and it was free. It also hosts a tree tops climbing centre right in the middle of the park. We visited at Halloween to see the hallowed display the park organised. It was incredible, the decorations and costumes of the star star star houses was very impressive.
T. W.
I was here to start the t50, Telford anniversary 50 mile trek around the town. A big shopping area but also has a big park out the back with lots of walks and things to see. A big children's play area with swings, slides etc. Also there is an area with ropes and tree walks.
L.
I was Impressed with what I seen, Than it started to rain.
G. R.
Free fun for kids.....keeps them occupied and healthy at the same time. Free water play area so bring cosy and towels when the sun's shining. Lots of climbing and swinging frames etc. Large grassed areas, plus loads more. Fantastic place for everyone.
J. L.
Kids now 12 and 10 have been enjoying the delights of the Town Park since they were old enough to be pushed and carried around. They run around of their own accord now, having progressed from the sand pits, swings and slides to the obstacle courses and spider_web and making use of the sport courts, paths, pools and general green space.
Its a fab place that can all to easily be taken for granted. It should be treasured.
P. O.
Was great and so clean.
G. T.
Really clean and modern facilities. Can get really busy with kids in the playground areas on a nice day. However, there's plenty of quiet park paths and lakes to escape to, explore and get lost in!
D. S.
Nice park, shame about the people
K. M.
Amazing park with so much going on. Crazy Golf, high tower, playgrounds, water park and coffee and ice cream. Great place for a sunny afternoon. Then you have the amazing choice of eatery's close by with cinemas and bowling.
T. C.
Well kept park with facilities suitable for a wide range of visitors and age group. There are several play areas for younger and older children. Certainly on the "to re-visit" shortlist when we are around the vicinity.
S. E.
Brilliant for kids, or if you want a picnic or walks, toilet and drinks facilities also
J. M.
Don't take the star rating seriously. I wandered in to see the balloon festival at the end of the day. Impressive stuff. There were refreshment areas and beer tents there. The layout looked good and attached to the shopping area and nearby hotels and conference centre.
G. D.
We came with friends who had travelled from bath and some of my family. The ghost walk was fantastic, the kids loved it. The park has so much going on .we had a brilliant day
C. J.
Brilliant park, loads for all ages. Splash zone is great on a sunny day, different areas for different ages. Clean and well kept grounds.
K. W.
I really think they have done wonders with the town park in the last few years. South water is right next to it with loads of eateries and Cineworld. The town park has the annual hot air balloon launch which is great fun and free to get in. The flower gardens are lovely to see and quite peaceful and the town park has play areas the little ones love to visit.
D. H.
There is so much to do here that we still haven't done it all! There are lots of different playgrounds to suit all ages. The walks around the park are all pushchair friendly which is a big plus for me. There is a lovely musical garden, waterplay, adventure golf, gardens and more. It's all a matter of seconds away from the shops and places to eat. However once you are in the park wandering round it still feels like you are away from it all. And on top of that there is Wonderland in the middle of it all. The only thing that's a negative at time of writing is that the climbing place is shut.
M. H.
Great place for all ages. Loads to do with plenty of seats for those who like a sit down in the sun.
I. F.
Park is great, but a little crowded.
Kids had a lovely time.😊
I. S.
I've been the length and breadth of the UK, and haven't seen anything like this. They have really thought this through, excellent facilities, car park into a shopping complex, more shops outside, cinema, bowling alley, restaurants, park area, picnic spots, giant spider frame, giant slides, a bouncy castle wonder land, a foot trail. Convenience in mind for all your needs.
B. F.
Never saw so many oak trees, lots of variation in woods, paths pretty good. path directions a bit confusing . Dogs had a great time what a gem in the middle of the town centre.
J. O.
Great park loads of play areas spotless. Certainly the best park for children I've been to. Enough seating a really good variety of climbing stuff slides etc and it's free.
K. T.
Great on a sunny day, plenty of equipment for the kids to play on, fields for ball games and a few stalls that sell drinks and snacks etc... short walk from the Town Centre and the new South Quarter with loads of bars gets... to choose from
E. T.
Fantastic package with loads to do and see
T. E.
A joy to visit, reasonably clean but an example to what modern parks should be for children and adults.
V. C.
Lots of different kinds of play areas for different ages and abilities. Wild/natural areas for wildlife. Wooded areas too. Lots of pools/ponds. Also pay for activities, i.e. Adventure golf, Wonderland. Formal gardens to walk round or chill in. The whole park is great for walking around or walking ur dog, and great for family days out too.
S.
Halloween night at wonder land was amazing, kids loved it so much they've been talking about it for days, my only issue was sat nav takes you to holiday inn, and Google maps also takes you to the wrong location every time, manually type in Dark lane telford and that'll take you straight to wonder lands car park. Great place to take young kids, it's also really good value for money...
L. F.
Massive park. The kids loved it. Great selection for children of all different ages. Lovely water park feature.
Lots of family restaurant's on top.
Plus wonderland nearby.
Great day out.
B. J.
Perfect place to take the children. Lots of slides and swings to keep them entertained.
R. W.
Had a lovely time with grandchildren, there was a small fair and Christmas Market.
P. W.
Great place for all the family
M. F.
Fabulous place to bring the kids, right on the shopping centre edge, loads to do, sand play, water play, dry play, bark play, clean visitor centre with toilets, plenty of ice cream vans and snack huts, cheap parking. Fantastic
D. J.
Great day out for the kid's.
s. m.
Big park some nice places. Main pond needs reeds and greenery to clean up water. Some facilities great others shoddy like open air auditorium by lake could be great if restored.
I. M.
Lots of fantastic walks and some great places to eat and drink at all different price ranges.
S. D.
Fantastic park, loads of activities to keep my children occupied. Didn't have a lot of time to explore but it seemed to have something for everyone!
P. D.
Exceptional local town park
Our family used to visit there every Sunday afternoon about 15 years ago when our children was small . We have started going back there on a Sunday afternoon and are very impressed with all the scenery, equipment and and I mean it is for the children it is much much improved from then . The Maxell and Chelsea Gardens are much improved and are a delight to walk through . It has great views looking on to the Southwater development which is very impressive we will visit this place very often in future.
D. H.
Great Park for kids and nice to have a walk around with the family.
C.
Great place for family time, kids love it. Plenty to do for all ages, plus lots of open space for games. Ice cream and snack vans.
M. K.
fantastic day at the kite and balloon festival May 2018
t. o.
I used to take my grandchildren here and enjoyed it just as much as they did. We used to have our lunch at the Mad Hatters table in Wonderland which has a charge to go in but so much well worth it. In this part there are streams and woodland and little fairy tale houses Red Riding Hoods, the Old Woman in a Shoe, Alice in Wonderland, etc. The usual park has swings big slides etc and individual gardens Italian, Japanes etc and a little boating lake plus cafe. There are so many et ceteras here you will love it.
B. L.
You can literally spend a whole day out with the family enjoying the parks, the water fountains and lakes and not spend a penny. By far the best town centre park in the country
F. G.
Amazing place for everything🍀🍀🍀
k. b. K.
Great place to take kids, different park areas of play, splash area, rock climbing/ high ropes. Large walking area, shopping area 5 mins walk through to park.
N. T.
Lovely open space and really clean. Staff were constantly emptying bins and picking up rubbish. The event that was on was a little disappointing but the park is lovely. Very popular, especially in warmer weather
M. M.
Lovely place for the kids. Definitely a kids day out. Everything for toddlers and upwards to 13
R. S.
Clean and well presented. A safe place to spend time with your kids with great coffee and donuts
C. H.
Nice spacious grounds with a range of play areas for children of different ages. There are also some gardens and crazy golf. Great for children.
E. T.
In the best of weather, it's rammed with people from outside Telford who come for the day and then leave all their rubbish and used nappies all over the park.
The toilets are usually horrific and soaked thanks to people using it as water play changing.
In non peak times, it's a great place to visit.
c. k.
Fantastic park, so much to do and see. Very clean and well maintanted. Only problem was finding it not many signs. Great place for free though
A. T.
It is a lovely large woodland with fabulous walks throughout spent a lovely day just walking in fantastic surroundings
S. P.
Officially the best park in the UK. Very close to Southwater with its restaurants, cinema and coffee shops. Great play area for kids with a good variety of well maintained play equipment, bike hire, visitor centre and the Wonderland mini theme park for younger children. The bulk of the park is undeveloped and there for visitors to discover. There are information signs dotted around the park telling visitors about the park's industrial heritage and there are a few ruins of industrial buildings dotted around - some easy to see such as Randlay chimney which is pretty much intact and others hidden away in the undergrowth which take some effort to find. If you're into the great outdoors and industrial revolution era history you could spend all day in the park.
P. N.
Best park in England. If you're looking to cycle, run or walk this is the place to be. Tonnes of variety when it comes to nature you can see bats and moths flying over you in the evening and buzzards and horses in the day.
R. W.
It's got plenty of areas to cater for every age group and every sort of activity. It's always very well maintained, clean and tidy. The staff are friendly and always willing to help with any questions you may have.
J. I.
Great place for kids
K. D.
Great park, the winter wonderland is a bit of fun too
P.
Such a beautiful, well cared for area. Plenty of play areas catering for all ages and abilities of children. The walk through the Silkin way is so beautiful. It deserved the award that it won.
S. J.
Lovely looking place, great for family day out too
W. W.
Great park nice play area split into to for toddlers and teenagers. Some shops and food outlets nearby with plenty of parking. All very convenient to use and visit. Also hosts Telford 5k parkrun on Saturday mornings.
J. P.
Best park i have ever been to so much to do and very well kept i traveled an hour to take kids here as it was a childhood memory for me and i must say it has just improved
A. M.
Very open. Plenty of places to walk too. Plenty of things to see when walking around the lakes and woods. Great park for children and with Southwater competed (almost) there is lots of places to eat and drink.
J. L.
Sky reach in the town park is great value for money and lots of fun. Friendly, helpful instructors and great for all ages.
R. K. C.
Beautiful a real hub of telford lots of places for children to play and ample opportunities for adults too. Lots of green and flowers it was gorgeously decorated with plants everywhere you looked
T. E.
If my dog could write a review she would give the park 5 stars. She starts crying with excitement when she realises we are going there. It's a large park with miles of surfaced footpaths. Popular with dog walkers. There are numerous entrances so take a look on Google Maps first. There are several fishing lakes, a large children's play area with water play in the summer. Wonderland is popular with the toddlers (extra charge). There is a ropes course in the trees and crazy golf (both extra charge). If you don't want to walk around the park you can hire a bike. The café is very handy but, if you want more choice, Telford Centre is only a 5 min walk from most of the facilities. In 2015 it was voted UK's best park.
D. J.
I have lived in Telford for more than 50 years and have not walked around the town park for at least 25 years. What a change!
Amazed what the council have done with the place. Recommend a visit.
R. S. (.
Loads for the kids to do including waterplay, sand, play areas, zip wires and of course the fabulous Wonderland. A great day out.
E. B.
Lovely park... nice to find somewhere specifically for 8 and ABOVE!! Normally my youngest can play but the two older ones have to watch. Such a lovely place for the older ones!
J. P.
Great place for a chill out in the sun, a picnic, wide range of facilities for children and perfect accessibility towards shopping centre. Great walk from Silkin Way through towards the town park.
D. L.
BRILLIANT.....so much to see and do.x
J. a.
Not happy about them changing the park and putting up concrete buildings everywhere, shame all people think about is making money. New cafe not as good as old one (limited menu) and the times I have been there the staff are grumpy. We went to the splash zone, (outside water area) it was OK, kids enjoyed it, but very busy, limited seating and picnic benches and no where for kids to change except toilets in the visitor centre . Different play areas for the children. Wonderland attraction is also in the park but you gave to pay to go in, there is a carpark next to it that is now pay and display. You can park in the town centre carparks and walk to the park. There are now NEW SIGNS For HERITAGE TRAIL AND SILKIN WAY SO We TOOK our BIKES AND had quite a long bike ride around the park and some pools.
T. L.
Great park with wide range of facilities and places to have a quiet walk, take a coffee break or enjoy the views and some interesting historical points about Hinkshay before Telford.
K.
Amazing park for kids lots to do loads of space to play & plenty of different activities that will suit pretty much any child & family
J. T.
Beautiful place and loads to see, with plenty of walks for all abilities. Most paths are tarmacked and suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs alike.
T.
Good please to spend the day if you're bored
R. P.
Probably one 9f the best free parks in uk,
Plus many other attractions from the underrated Telford
A. G.
Very good place for families to visit. Lots of activities and green area right in the town centre.
M. B.
Telfords best feature. Acres of mixed parkland, a great way to spend a few hours, and a great place to start if you want to explore the cycle routes around the town.
M. T. F. R.
Nice and clean, just that the queues for the drive through can be long on weekends
D. C.
Wonderful place to come for a wander round or to let the kids burn off some energy in the playgrounds. So much to do and enjoy well worth a visit.
C. P.
Nicely located in the centre of town.
R. H.
Frisbee Golf - a bit wet but enjoyable all the same. Plenty going on in the Park
H. J.
Kids love it here. Not many places you can go where there are parks, splash attractions, cafes, toilets, loads of picnic areas and free entry. And all for £1 parking on a Sunday.
P. S.
Wonderfull family park ajoy to visit freindly people out walking, very good for running and cycling,a must to visit in shropshire
A. M.
Food was fantastic 😊 go again.
D. P.
The grandchildren love this place, so much to do, the only downside is lack of toilet facilities, grandson got sand in his eyes and had to carry him to the hungry horse pub to wash the sand out!
P. T.
Lovely, well kept grounds. Fabulous for families to relax. Nice walks, good little areas for picnics and great play areas for kids.
J. C.
The potential is there to be a beautiful park but sadly let down by the degree of rubbish strewn around the area and the lack of colourful shrubs and plants.
A. W.
Good fun for all the family. Great most the time of the year e.g water park and ice cream for summer. There are usually some events going on in the main grass area as well
R. C.
A fantastic asset to the town. Something (many things) for everyone to enjoy. Can recommend the high ropes course with a half price voucher.
R. W.
Great Park! Lots of open space to chill out, do group activities, or host events in! Lots of historical parts on view plus some hidden treasures!
S. N.
Lovely park. Plenty of space. A good play area for the kids. Bike hire, walks, visitors centre and right next to shopping centre, so not far to go for food or shopping.
R. B.
Great day out for all family. Multiple playgrounds and a beautiful Chelsea flower garden. Although normally very busy. A cheap day out for all family.
P. E.
It's a great park especially in the summer. Let down a bit at times by parent who just send there kids off to play and don't supervise, leaving them to ride roughshot over small kids at times.
J. F.
There's more to the park than slides and a pond. The family and i enjoy occasional walks and picnic by the lake. Yes there's a lake.
t. b.
This is a great park in the centre of Telford. The fact that nearby Tamworth has Drayton Manor and the snow dome to name a few really makes it difficult to spend a lot of time in Telford because the entertainment and things to do are so miniscule in comparison.
That being said the Town Park has delivered hours of fun for the children who never get bored with the place, its kept clean and safe and there are occasional events and nearby Wonderland.
S. H.
More than enough to keep the kids entertained.
We were here for over 5hrs and still hadn't covered it all.
m. l.
Its changed so much with the redevelopment of south water
H. K.
I really loved this place because it has a lot of activities and the adults can chill while the children. There are activities like GOLF!!!
P. M.
Great place to walk or cycle, miles of good surfaced pathways. Lots to do for all the family, and Southwaterand the town centre at one end.
R. B.
Beautiful park for everyone to enjoy, my kids loved it here especially the wonderland and the rock climbing they really enjoyed!
D. F.
Excellent facilities, best park and playground for miles. My son loves it. Well catered for adults too with food, drink and parking all close by
S. K.
Outstanding park, great open spaces for walkers, runners, cyclists, etc. Lots to do and very clean and well maintained. Awesome.
S. C.
A truly excellent facility, so good you can barely believe it is free of charge. The close by food courts make it an excellent, child friendly fun and inexpensive day out.
Highly recommend.
S. W.
Well maintained, lots of activities for children and some well preserved parkland. Informative displays about the industrial history of the park.
M. D. (.
Beautiful place for all the family. Children's play park and open spaces for running around.
D. T.
Great place for a walk and to play, especially on a wet, muddy day!
D. D.
Brilliant. To every parents horror A child went missing during our time here. all the staff came together with radios and searches and found the lost child. I was very inpressed with how seriuosly they took the incodent and how well trained the staff were. They all knew what to do. Great
J.
Fantastic park. Highly recommended and if you live in the local area most certainly worth a visit.
Z. T.
Nice and clean, there is something fun for all age groups i cluding sandpit and water features, the Chelsea garden is breathtaking!
n. c.
Very good place for kids of all ages nicely kept areas not enough security as when we visited last youths were fighting in the band stand for 20 minutes before any security or police arrived which is poor seems the police station is 5 minutes away apart from that has cool walk ways to silkin way and around randly pools and wonderful information boards with rubbings Alison in wonderland is situated inside the town park just wish the boats were still there
L. B.
Fantastic place to take children, just go for a walk or laze by the lake and relax. Can't recommend it enough.
A. B.
Telford town park is an amazing place to visit. It has something for every one. Theres play areas for all ages, water fountians for the children to run through, mini golf, and some kind of frisbe basketball game. For the more adventurous there is a high wire assault course and zipwire. Some of these activities you will have to pay for.
If you want something a little relaxing why not stroll around the chelsea and maxell gardens. These gardens are award winning and maintained and nurtured by The Friends Of Telford Town Park, who met up every wednesday. The gardens are stunning all year round.
If you like bike riding or walking the park has some great routes and as you go you will discover the heratige of Telford's industrial revolution. You will spot towers, pools, bridges and even a railway platform.
I havent mentioned everything about the park but come and have a wander and if thats not enough you can do a bit of shopping and have a pint in the shopping centre.
have fun.

It's ok has lots of different areas for different aged children. Each area has 2 gates I think. There is also a big sand area with diggers and 2 ponds usually with ducks in.
S. W.
Has greatly improved over the past few years. As a kid I miss the boat paddle ride and the remote control boats you could play with.
R. T.
Lovely it here. Great food. Will get a better feel for the area when covid is over

Having been to the Big Top last night, my back is in agony today. I have never sat on such uncomfortable seats before!! The poor man in front had to wedge me in to stop me sliding forward as the seats all tip forward.
D. A.

An excellent park with good facilities, let down by a lack of road signs directing you to the site, which is reached on foot from the multi storey car parks adjacent to the international centre
D. F.
Really nice park somewhere your kids would love! Telford food court just next door as well for easy food options.
S. J.

G. J.

Telford Town Park is a must visit place! My second visit and I am still discovering something new, It's been very well planned out with something for everyone, fantastic play areas for children, Beautiful Chelsea Gardens which are kept well maintained with some lovely features and fab sculptures, my only gripe is that I think there ought to be an information leaflet pointing out all the sculptures with info on each on their titles and who the artist was etc, next to nothing online either which is such a shame.
M. K.
Very good place to take kids and have fun. You get to play different games, a variety of things to eat there. It's worth going, yeah!
K. R.

C. C.
Lots of different areas to sit or play. Amazing park for all ages of children!
T. W.
An excellent facility and surrounding paths which are unfortunately badly let down by the lack of signage explaining which paths are for pedestrians, cycles, horses (and increasingly motorbikes!?). The local council's policy of seemingly pretending that this isn't an issue is frankly nothing short of irresponsible.
The result of this if you are a pedestrian is that you are regularly putting your family and pets lives on the line in dangerous unlit sloped areas where bikes are not speed limited or required to have lights or even a bell fitted. Illegal motorbikes are also becoming a major problem, even in the Town park itself!.
TWC promised to address all these issues several years ago but have since done virtually nothing. I have a feeling something serious will have to occur before any of these issues are actually addressed.
In the grand scheme of things, compared to the money that has been spent on this park in the last few years the cost of the required signage to address these issues is pennies.

A. J.
Considering this park is located in the centre of Telford New Town you wouldn't know it. It is peaceful with some wonderful walks that will take you along a history trail of what once stood or happened in that area.
H. M.
Telford park has many sections with play equipment for lots of ages. It has a sand and water area. A small cafe selling light refreshments and toilet facilities. Plenty of places to walk the dog. Only downfall is you have to pay for the parking!
