Reviews of Woking Park
S. T.
Amazing place. Huge space! Plenty to do! These pics are only of the very satisfying playground. Jungle themed with water features, soft sea sand, pirate ships, real bamboo. Beautifully designed throughout! And then all around the Park there are many other possibilities for sports; cricket field, tennis courts, indoor swimming. 3 hrs free parking - well done Woking!
A. B.
Haven't been here for over 20 years and couldn't believe the transformation! Took my 2 yr old granddaughter and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. Best slide ever!Highly recommend a visit.
D. S.
Huge park with great landscapes to look at while walking or jogging. Nicely maintained small section for kids to enjoy. Its dog friendly as well for all puppy lovers!
s. m.
Perfect park! Activities for everyone - little kids, grown ups, more grown ups! Swimming pool, tennis courts, kids park with slides and sunken treasure!! There's a stream that runs partly along the walk path and there are ducks, which always gets me excited! Lots of tree cover and strategically places gazebos to cover from the unannounced rain. Great location, in the middle of Woking and the heart of residential properties!
D. J.
Had A lovely time at Woking park with my Nephew. Plenty of open green space perfect for a walk with the dogs!
V. M.
It's a nice park. Lovely in Spring and Summer. Autumn colours lovely too. Bit sad in Winter.
D. M.
A beautifully kept park not far from the station with a sports centre, indoor swimming pool complex and skate park. There's also an outdoor jungle themed play area for kids and an outdoor gym.
My daughter has been to many gyms and she highly rated the indoor gym in the sports centre.
S. L.
This was our 1st visit to the Jungle. The most amazing place for little people. Sparked their imagination.
We had hours of fun .We didn't want to leave.
S. S.
Went to the woking firework display in the park.Nice display and the rain stayed off.Park got a little muddy but a good evening.prices were a little high for the fair rides that lasted s few mins.planes started at 3.00 then 4 pound for the small kidie blow cars then 5 pounds for the rope bounce. All great fun for the little ones .Will def go back next year was worth the entrance fee.
T. O.
Lovely park. Really well maintained. Lots of grass to sit and enjoy the sunshine. Right next to pool in the park and a great play area for kids.
A. S.
Very lovely park, clean and green. Has a little lake and a pond. Difrent areas to chill to skate and relax. Perfect place to think. At which point did everything go wrong in your life?
T. L.
Good for...massive kids playground. Cricket. Tennis. Mini golf (bring your own putter and ball). Swimming. Walking. Bandstand ice cream truck finding. Skate park (morning is best for young kids!)
F. T. E.
Beautifully serene park with a big pond and lots of nature to be observed. Big trees to climb and an outside gym and climbing wall which my kids enjoyed.
M. A.
I visited the kids playground with my son. He was very excited and happy to spend there an hour full of playing and jumping.
The cafe closed early and it needs some lights at evening.
O. A.
Beautiful place. Swimming pool, kids area, 3 hours free parking. Stunning
M. L.
The playground is very nice and kids love it but too many bushes there so u cant easily see your child unless u follow them around
Y. B.
Beautiful park, children's playground, swimming pool, skate park for bikes, skates, skate boards, ducks to feed, during the summer months they have an orchestra.
R. G.
Went there for annual working party in the park. Trendy crowd with great dance 💃 performers, food and games.
P. W.
Worth a quick visit if nearby. It's quite a small park. Parking is free for 3hrs. The play park doesn't offer much for kids over toddler age. The "waterfall" advertised on website made us laugh its ugly!! The outdoor gym adds a bit of interest. The wild animals are pretty tame and will eat from you.
N. T.
Manicured Parc, loved the art and reading bench, all area are clean and very respectful crowd (distancing)
T. F.
Good place located in a built up area to unwind with the children and/or walk the dog
M. B.
Nice place for walking and relaxing, variety of trees and landscapes
a. s.
Lovely park for a stroll, feed ducks, picnic or to take kids of all ages for a play in the park area . Have a busy lizzy buggy fitness class going on a Monday morning to! Would definatley recommend
J. C. S.
Excellent place to spend the day. Needs more proper sinage. Could not find the walking trails.
J. S.
Really nice park, plenty of good spots for shelter from the rain, all round nice atmosphere!
T. S.
I love this place. Amazing to go to alone, as a couple or as a family.
T. S.
Diverse park with ornate flower beds and trail country path. Visited for park run on a summer Saturday
A. H.
3hrs free parking. Nice open space with range of activities possible.
W. H.
Parking is decent lots to choose from, and price is quite competitive
J. A.
Well maintained park with all recreational activities.
S. B. d. V.
I saw some reviews about it and wasn't disappointed. This is an amazing park for your little ones and even bigger ones as you have climbing area, gym area and also skateboard area. It's just beside the leisure centre and swimming pool therefore it's really busy but still really good to entertain your kids. We spent 3 hours as the car park is free for this time.
C. C. M.
Great place for a walk, to chill or even have a picnic. Nicely decorated.
G. H.
What a revelation. My first visit to this park. The play area is the best I have seen. The equipment is creative and original. The landscaping and planting is mature and creates lots of surprises. The children played for 3 hours and would have stayed longer.
P. H.
Woking Park is just wonderful.
I lived in Woking for many years and spent many hours in the park.
It's great for lots of activities, walking with the family, sitting for a picnic, playing tennis at the courts, the Swimming pool is also there.
For the kids there is a great play area that has sections for younger kids and sections for older kids. They have a section full of exercise machines too that anyone can use. They are all well equipped with lots of equipment.
Depending on the season the flower beds will be in bloom and it's really nice to see.
Overall I really love this place and loved spending time here.
R. B.
I work for a playground company, and have just put a new zip wire at woking park,I use too work for serco, and maintained woking park for 3yrs,this is a very popular place, don't get me wrong things do go wrong,or break, but this park has so many different things, for all ages, would deffently recommended a visit.
S. d.
Great fun to climb and slide with added sand and water.
D. F.
Nice safe place to walk and cycle with the kids.
W. R.
Great place for kids to let off steam. All round activites and facilities for everyone. Including swimming pool
J. M.
This is good community space with multiple footpath entrances and great parking. It is wheelchair friendly. It seems popular with all age groups and has impressive sports facilities for local clubs, groups and individuals to enjoy: football, tennis, swimming, bowls and more. The footpaths are in reasonable condition and the park is dog friendly for those on leads.
N. W.
We didn't see much of it but it has a lake with ducks on, there are public toilets, there is a lot of park for kids to play in as well as proper play area with swings etc.!! There are also gardens to walk round, tennis courts and big spaces for picnics and playing football! It also leads to Woking Leisure centre where there is a swimming pool and flumes for kids and adults!! Not far to walk to station or town centre either!!
P. B.
Nice park good for kids and the dog
D. W.
This is an easy par to find, we only went there as it holds a parkrun at 9am on Saturdays and I am thinking of running their. The first 3 hours in the carpark is free which is good after that there is a charge. The park is large with plenty of areas in it with different sports catered for. The grounds were clean and well looked after, there are cctv cameras for added security. The only thing g thT was not so good on our visit was the ladies toilets which when the wife went to use were in her words not in a suitable state to use. Otherwise a nice place to have a walk round and about 15 minutes walk into the town centre.
A. M.
Lovely place to go for a walk and picnic
K.
Walked past disappointing areas and then later when leaving the landscapers were attending to the many dilapidated areas. It's an amazing park, let's treat it with respect and invest in its upkeep. With most of the council money going into the high-rises it's such a great pity to see it's green spaces neglected.
T. D.
Great park with outdoor children's playground, lunch tables, an indoor soft play area which can be converted to badminton courts after playtime is over, and a swimming pool.
T. H.
Parking for cars in awesome the leisure centre opposite the away end is massive. Great modern stadium just outside woking centre. Poor coach parking bit I'm sure if they played higher up the leagues it wouldn't remain a problem
D. B.
A large and nicely maintained park. It's a great place for a picnic when the sun's out.
T. R.
Beautiful park , quiet and clean. Has a really nice kids ground and everything you need ( pool, gym, tennis courts)
D. C.
I think this park is very good, swimming pool, gymnasium a very good children's play area with sand, tennis courts, bowling, two ponds with ducks etc. Refreshments, ice-cream van and the flower beds looked lovely last week. Also a skateboard Park. And open air gym equipment. Very nice to just walk round.
L. R.
Nice park. Can get busy at times and heard they have a rat problem, but the kids love it! We call it sandy park!
V.
lots to see. good parking. great especially in the summer
d. “. M.
Celebrated my bday following covid19 guidelines. Wonderful place, have been enjoying it for ages.
J. B.
Used to be a really nice place to take a walk, but the pond has now been drained and left to over grow, nothing seems like it is looked after anymore, the tennis courts are a building site and the cricket green is badly looked after. The playground is good but some parts are still a building site. Quite sad as I used to come here every Saturday as a kid but now as an adult I wouldn't take my kids here unless I really had to.
U. 7.
Very open and a great place to bring children or to just walk the dog, even to have some peaceful time alone. This park also contains a Leisure centre that can also be a great option for party's or a nice place to visit when it is warm. There are some public toilets that are dotted around and they are well maintained so no need to worry about that either.
A. C.
A beautiful space to walk, sit and relax.
D. Y.
A lovely open space for my little girl (20 months) to run around and play. We all went for a picnic by the band stand and watched the world go by. Lovely little ponds with ducks to feed and to watch as well. There is also lots to do for older children, as there is a skate park, tennis courts as well.
S. N.
Peaceful and serine. Great trails for jogging and walking.
A. A.
Excellent play area for kids, pool in the park in the leisure centre. 3 hours free parking.
R. E. N.
Great pools with excellent water based and indoor activities and facilities all set in well maintained park. Although watch out when the football is on as they take up the parking spaces even though they are NOT allowed, so allow time to find a space when a match is on. Otherwise plenty of space to park.
A. B.
Only parked up. This was fine. Never used any facilities.
C. B.
I love this park. Relaxed spaces but plenty of things to do or explore. The kids park is brilliant with lots of carved animals and great activities.
d. a.
Very well maintained park, large ground where you can play cricket, football or any other team sport. Small play area for kids is amazing. Small lake which attracts a lot of ducks and friendly squirrels are the main attractions of this park.
J. S.
We love the park. Great for a picnic, a quick walk, to feed the squirrels or to walk a dog.
R. S.
Large open areas, pond and river, skate boarders delight and excellent young children's area. Crazy golf and tennis courts for hire too and all this surrounds the leisure centre and car park. Go see for yourself!
j.
A really pretty little park with easy access from multiple places and close to the town centre and the leisure centre and swimming pool. The grass, flowerbeds and paths are very well maintained and there is a toilet block (never used it so cant comment on the upkeep), outdoor tennis courts and plenty of wide open green space for other sports. The park gets very busy on warm days. By the leisure centre entrance there is a kiddies play area and often there is an ice cream van parked there.
D. F.
Clean & plenty to do for most aged kids.
L. H.
Obviously I'm not visiting playgrounds at the moment. This playground popped up as a memory, on my phone. We were there two years ago. It really is a great playground. We were due to revisit it this year. We will definitely go back in the future. It is situated next to the swimming pool (Pool in the Park).
c. k.
Very well maintained and clean. Had been there for Surrey half marathon.
T. N.
Kids love it here, especially on a sunny day. Loads of playground apparatuses not of your usual variety plus a watery area for them to wade or splash around in. Plenty of nice clean sand too to build your sandcastles. Toilets are located in the leisure centre itself.
S. S.
Gorgeous but ice cream booth very slow and no queuing shade. Take spare clothes to play park as there's a water feature. Also beware losing children in the playground tunnel and amongst planting!
N. P.
I walk my dog here every day. The children's park looks real fun. There are a few rare trees that are interesting in summer. The ducks have disappeared since the ponds froze but they'll be back soon.
D. F.
Lots of local communities are active here. Lovely friendly atmosphere with great facilities for all ages. Skatepark is decently designed with great flows. Parking is ample with 3 hours free before payment needed.
A. B.
A lovely little park. Plenty of space and different things to do.
I knocked a star off because of the family of rats we saw playing near the children.
A. S.
Nice, sizeable, maintained urban park with walking trails, outdoor gym, tennis courts, basketball courts, children's play area. Expect lots of concreted over space rather than grass though. The public pool and leisure centre are in the grounds of the park if you are keen to combine different activities.
R. M.
Went to Surrey Pride not easy to find but a nice area with facilities worth a visit.
E. B.
The play park is beautiful and so is the duck pond but the skate park is dirty and needs replacing. Also it can be very dangerous as large groups of boys hang out above the waterfall and have attacked a 17 year old for being gay. Bit of a shame but the park itself is beautiful.
C. E.
The children's park is amazing and filled with so much to entertain
D. H.
Park and garden are always clean and well maintained, ducks are well looked after and friendly, the children's playground is accessible for a wide range of ages of children, all play equipment is safe and in good condition.
S. K.
Great place to take the kids. Very well looked after. Outside play areas. This is the location of pool in the park, the leisure center and tennis courts. Small pond fed by a waterfall into a stream. The pond is home to a family of ducks and swans.
S. R.
Really good park to go out to.
We have enjoyed many days out.
Highly recommending.
s. k.
Great facilities at this Leisure centre. However the fee structure for booking courts for badminton and squash is fairly expensive! Some of the staff are rude! Customer service is not their priority here.
G. W.
Kids loved it and 3 hours free parking. Nice area to go for a little walk and a viewing platform to watch the ducks.
V. D.
Fab park. Lots to do. Beautiful. Well looked after.
C. M.
Just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to all the people that keep woking park looking so spectacular. I have walked almost everyday there during the pandemic and it has soothed my soul while I work for the NHS. Keep up the amazing job you do.
J. C.
My daughter, grandson and I turned up without booking, we were told we couldn't go in the lagoon but could go in the training pool, glad we were offered that as my grandson had a whale of a time, we went into cafe there 1st and not only was the meal deal for kids cheap and large he enjoyed it all as well
N. A.
Really lovely place for a toddler on a sunny weekday. Bring a bucket and spade and spare clothes if they're anything like mine though! :) The water and sand area is really great.
D. E.
Great Park for the kids, plenty of space for the kids to kick a ball around. Also has tennis courts, crazy golf, AstroTurf 5 a side pitches, outdoor exercise machines, a pond for swans and ducks and a grateful skatepark.
D. P.
Woking Park is a recreation ground on the outskirts of Woking Town Centre. The is a Leisure centre with a gym and other sporting facilities. Also there are swimming pools. There is a skate park there as well.. which is popular with youngsters. It is very scenic and has a large pond with lots of wildlife. Its a very nice place to go and relax.. especially on hot summers days.
E. R.
You see a lot of dogs here but I personally come for the squirrels as some of them you can hand feed. I have befriended a squirrel called cindy however you have to be careful cos there is a squirrel with one eye called buck and he might bite u cos he can't see
A. M.
Went for fireworks.A good evening..
G. D.
It's a well kept and managed park with interesting garden landscaping, free to use crazy golf (bring your own clubs or hire clubs from the Leisure Centre), tennis courts, an interesting pond walk, a well designed children's playground and nice open areas. It's a great place to take young children. The park waterfall has been turned off this year - not sure why - and the still water in one of the small ponds is thus green and smelly. The Pool in the Park has a nice and reasonably priced café which I use whilst the Leisure Centre café is closed for building works. Other than that, and in the summer months, an ice cream van (no hot drinks sold) is parked near the car park. Parking is pretty good and although parking space can be a bit pressured on a hot and busy day it's usually possible to find somewhere to park. Woking Park is a good way to spend a few hours with children and best of all it's free!
J. C.
The firework display this year was great. Easily went on for 15 minutes with a grand finale worth attending for. Loads of food stalls at good prices and carnival games too. We'll recommended.
m. w.
The hall in the leisure centre wad perfect for having the antique fair which was held on sunday 6th february.
D. B.
Absolute amazing place to take kids of all ages tobes of fun activitys and i thoroughly enjoyed myself too. Also great for pokemon on pokemon go with 7-8 poke stops all in close proximity of each other. You will be missing out if you dont go!
S. M.
Great kids playground
T. H.
Love this park, has what you want. Really nice place to have some rest with family.
Only con is that the lakes doesn’t get cleaned regularly
V. M.
Enjoyed the park and open spaces this morning, well done to Woking Borough for the tennis courts, cricket pitch, grass areas and children friendly spaces for relaxing or outdoor exercise classes.
L. K.
Lovely place with lots to offer. Is a real shame they have replaced Mr Carlos ice cream van for an extremely substandard coffee kiosk. The coffee is cheap because it's poor quality. There is definitely room for both concessions!
E. C.
Nice place to go. The kids playground is very good - love the sand/ water play bit. General park well maintained.
G. T.
The playground has many types of fun equipment and have also a sand area. There are also many seats for waiting parents.
Personally feel that the ice cream sold by the ice cream van is too expensive... a kid wippy costs £2 and without chocolate stick. We usually get it at £1 with the chocolate stick.
J. C.
Great place for walks or joggers and mums with prams also dog walkers. The litter is picked cleared ever day. There is a café by the pool (bottom of slop).worth a visit.
T. S.
Nice park and well designed.safe area for child to play.nice walks and alot of open spaces.has a leisure centre on site and places to get a drink and food.best feature was the"free" parking!.
j. n.
Lovely park in Woking. Large swimming pool centre. Duck pond. Community buildings. Leisure centre. Lots of green area to picnic in. Children’s play park. In July they host party in the park. I feel we are very fortunate to have this facility
J. F.
Regular visitor for parkrun.
J. J. B.
Nice park with lots of facilities from tennis courts to skate board park. Dog friendly also
S. M.
Huge parking (3 hours of free parking), lots of different activities for children and adults, nice swimming pool( At Thursday open until 9pm), nice gum, a river near by, a pond behind the swimming pool, a garden with a few tennis courts) usually they are open.
D. A.
Lovely park great amenities and takes you into town
J. H.
Excellent area, great for young and older kids and plenty of places to sit for us mums.Cafe was good. Those posting about ice cream should realise that ice cream vans (and their prices) are beyond the control of the park owner and have nothing to do with the park at all
S. 3.
Nice to chill out, used to run there on saturday mornings. Park itself is good for kids. Toilets available at leisure centre and free parking
G. M.
Easy parking. Great park close to Woking centre with swimming, football and leisure centre . Also a nice park to have a walk.
I. E.
A wonderful Park. Great pond with ducks, nice walks and a lovely playground.
L. B.
Lovely park, great play area for the kids, lots to do and free parking. Perfect for an afternoon out 😊👌
J. A.
Good park whith lots of nice trees extra
1.
Fantastic play area for children and it's FREE.
E. M.
Great place to spend time with family. Outdoor gym, nice playground for children, close to pool. Love to go there with my toddler.
R. M.
Visiting friends in Woking and travelling with a two year old. The children's park was clean and themed in the style of jungle/pirate setting.
Dotted throughout are various wooden animals that you can 'spot' using a large map provided at the entrance to the playground.
Only 4* as whilst it was clean it was unkept. Weathered climbing apparatus and broken wooden animals take away from the appeal but by no means affected how much fun my son had.
d. s.
Such a lovely park including a swimming pool with water slides. Tennis bowls , children's play area plenty of quiet places.
B. Z. D.
Great place for morning run or afternoon relax. We come here regularly in summer to play tennis, frisbee or just sunbathe. No screaming kid or babies as well, which I appreciate highly.
G. M.
Entertained 4 grandchildren for three hours and a goodly space for a picnic as well. Excellent.
J. C.
Staff are good, all with a sence of honour. The gym is big with plenty of stations. There are so many different classes all through the day. Worth a visit.
A. P.
Lovely for dog walks, watching cricket in the summer, had free exercise equipment and tennis courts (need to book, possibly a small fee)
S.
Visited for the Woking Party in the park. Such a large area of green in Woking! Would recommend the Woking Party in the park to everyone, lots of fun, food and stages to watch a different variety of performances
J. C.
I didn't go in to the park.
Today is very wet, although people are walking dogs. It is a far nice place dry a sun shinning.
C. S.
Well used park with excellent facilities, plenty of parking upto 3 hrs free or pay for over 3hrs stay. Skat board park, popular leisure centre with pool in the park, Football pitches, Community clubs.
J. F.
Lovely park for a bike ride. Very green. No shortage of squirrels.
J. S.
I love Woking park. I am a nanny and I often take my little charges there. The guys that work in the park are like superheros to them, they are so informative and helpful. Rakeman, hoseman and now wheelbarrowman you know who you are. 👌👍
J. W.
Great childrens' activity park with decent length slides, flying fox etc.
Coffee hut and loos at the pool/sports centre close by. 3hr free parking.
M. R.
Great place to walk the dog. Lots of different areas to explore. I've noticed tennis lessons going on but didn't have time to go in and ask for details.
S. L.
This is a great place for families, well maintained with lots for young kids. The council (or whoever) put a lot of effort into maintaining and upgrading which must be a lot of work given the heavy use.
P. C.
Lovely park and it has so many play options for the kids!!! I'd definitely come here again!!
D. M.
Great park, well kept and plants well maintained. Fitness area and a nice pond full of ducks and other wildlife
L. G.
Best park for miles and now has a coffee hut. Plenty of free parking and toilets and food on hand at the Costa inside the leisure centre which is on site
O. R.
Whilst there is lots of signage about social distancing, the park was overcrowded and needed cleaning. Before Covid, we enjoyed going to the playground.
F. W.
Beautiful cared for spacious park it's possible to find tranquilty an d a shady seat, or maybe listen to the live band at the Grandstand , or just enjoy the beautiful space that this park is.woking should be proud
A. S.
I love Woking Park because Sports facilities, its duck lakes, the beach and the bridges over the stream. Ample parking; too much CCTV.
J. P.
Cracking place for a first date. Try to get the chairs by the fallen tree if you can. She'll love it.
H. R.
Lovely big park with lots of greenery and a pond. Children of all ages will love it as it has something suitable for each age group.
J. R.
Honestly wasn't here I swear!! It's this sort of stuff that gets you into trouble. If I were to visit a park it wouldn't be this one, just saying not that there's anything wrong with it judging by other people's pics. So I'll just leave it there!
A. R.
Lovely place for families. Lots of green space and a big park with a variety of things to do
D. D.
Fantastic Park to go, pet friendly. Lot of money being spent to make it even better. Swimming pool etc, Tennis courts lots to do.
L. D.
Super
M. V.
Nice place to go with kids on a sunny day: great playground, squirrels, ducks in the pond. Pond was a bit dirty, so 4 stars only.
C. B.
Beautiful place for kids and adults, easy place to ride bikes and scooters, feed ducks, do exercise and amazing free park, plus mini golf and tennis courts
K. P.
