Exceptionally committed and professional trainers. Callum and Jonathon are just the right combination of tough, encouraging and friendly. When you are with them, you are their 100% focus. This isn't a passive journey - they actively educate you, review your progress with you and help navigate challenges with injuries and nutrition - so you can build your own understanding of fitness and healthy choices. I really enjoy the accountability and the transparency of the process! Outstanding operators, I can't recommend them highly enough.

For a long time I had been experiencing muscle pain when trying various forms of exercise which meant keeping fit and healthy was always a struggle. My physio recommended I needed to do strength training on the affected muscles, but I didn't really have the knowledge or confidence needed when it came to doing gym work so I never made much progress.
I approached JC fitness with the goal of essentially "learning how to gym" and the experience has been transformative. In 12 weeks Callum has shown me how I can exercise safely, effectively and efficiently. I have a much better understanding of exercise and nutrition, the pain when I exercise is massively reduced and I've seen great body recomposition progress. Now I feel fully equipped to continue to maintain and build my fitness going forward and my only regret is that I didn't approach JC fitness much sooner!

This is a no B.S. service that gets right into the areas that are relevant to achieving your goals and attacks these areas with structure and accountability. My objectives were to shed some weight and gain some muscle and I realised immediately working with JC Fitness that there were many areas I needed to work on. Their approach isn't to put all the attention into one area, but to look at all the different areas related to the goal and create targets within each area. I trained with Callum for just over 2 months and managed to drop almost 10kg. The team there is friendly supportive and very good at motivating you to succeed. The programs were tailored to me and the things I liked to do. Great way to kick start your health journey. They provided me with the skills and knowledge to produce my own training programs and continue my journey. The best part for me was measurable results and progressions. Everything was tracked so I had evidence of my goals being achieved and could see improvement every week. Having gone into the experience with very high expectations after seeing all the reviews and recommendations online, I can honestly say my trainer Callum smashed those expectations out of the park. Have just finished two months with Callum and Jonathan. It was an amazing experience; they are extremely professional, friendly, and organised. They mean it when they say they lead with evidence based approaches. I was anxious about resuming activity after a long time out but it went really well - I really enjoyed every session - even the tough ones :). As someone who eats fairly well, has exercised regularly over the years and who has previously tried personal training I was frustrated by the fact that although fit I could never achieve the body shape I wanted. Now I realise I was doing it all wrong!
The fantastic thing about JCfitness is that in addition to the challenging gym workouts you are given great nutritional advice and taught the importance of burning calories through daily activity. I love the workouts and can’t believe the progress that I have made.
I would strongly recommend JCfitness to both those new to exercise and to those who have spent too many frustrating hours in the gym without ever dropping that dress size!

I was gifted a few PT sessions with Jonathan at JC Fitness from my partner as a birthday gift (potential hint 🤔)
After only two sessions, I have to say I am really impressed and have thoroughly enjoyed them. Jonathan is a good communicator and explains why we are doing certain exercises making sure form it’s correct and the exercises are performed correctly.
I was particularly impressed with the work out schedule, Jonathan catered the workout around goals I had mentioned and things I wanted to improve on. I had also mentioned I enjoyed boxing - Jonathan incorporated this into the workout which shows he pays attention to what you want to gain from the seasons.

I came to JC fitness a few months ago with very little gym experience or knowledge at all. I had worked with a trainer before but very quickly saw how seriously and professionally Jonathan and Giannis manage their client's health and fitness.

I exercise fairly regularly and would consider what I eat to be healthy, for the most part, but I've had difficulty for the past few years losing weight and toning up. I do enjoy my home workouts, but not sure if they're effective and again, I just haven't seen the change that I hoped for.
My husband suggested I work with a personal trainer and I found JC Fitness Edinburgh online. Having never worked with a personal trainer, I didn't have any expectations. Right away one of the most useful parts of working with JC Fitness was their body measurements. It was very helpful to know my body fat and starting point and these measurements became a strong motivator for me to change.
There is definitely an efficient way these personal trainers operate that is different to how I approached my fitness. Working with formal exercise and nutrition plans make it much easier to stay time efficient and motivated. It's great to know how I'm progressing and their approach absolutely keeps me accountable, which is an area I've lacked prior. I stayed opened minded and with consistency the results quickly came and I've already lost 6.5kg and 9% body fat in a little over 9 weeks, which I'm truly delighted with!

JC Fitness was one of the best choices I made last year! This was my first experience of personal training, which I wanted to do after feeling a little aimless and bored at the gym, not knowing how to improve my strength to achieve specific fitness goals - like getting better at indoor rock climbing. I didn't know what to expect, but can only say that I got very lucky to have had such an amazing introduction to personal training working with Jonathan and Giannis.
In addition to the amazing quality of training provided (a great, tailored and unique mix of bodyweight and gym equipment), the professionalism and the focused attention you get from the trainers, I was specifically impressed by the high level of knowledge in physio science that Giannis and Jonathan have. They are completely evidence/research based and really know what they're doing! That gave me a lot of confidence working with them and I also gained so much understanding about how my muscles work and how to exercise to target specific muscles groups. JC fitness provides these tools that makes the difference between short-term results and long-term results.
I feel so much stronger, saw very specific improvements in my climbing and I was amazed at the definition I started to see in my back muscles.
Giannis and Jonathan also take care to send on research papers, they are super open and honest, check-in with you to help you stay on top of your goals, and not only are they serious about the workouts but they are also serious about keeping it enjoyable and positive and are so much fun to work with. I couldn't recommend them enough!

With my primary objectives to increase muscle tone and definition and lose weight around my abdominal area, I had tried a number of times on my own, but couldn’t seem to shed the weight. Amidst this covid crisis I tried home exercise both on my own and working with an online personal trainer and quickly lost the motivation. I also felt trapped in my own house now working from home and need that important escape for my own mental health. If you are just looking for someone to shout at you and tell you that "you can do it, keep going" then go somewhere else. If you're looking for a professional who cares so much and has so much passion and real knowledge for their job, then come to Jonathan. I was spending some time back in Edinburgh with the family (I'm normally London-based) and so I knew I only had a short window to try and get on track with my fitness. What I've achieved in this short space of time has blown me away, and that isn't down to having access to a gym, it's down to being taught the fundamentals of WHY each exercise, each set, each rep and each meal is important, and what all of this collectively is doing to my body. Don't get me wrong, each session is packed full of intense workouts, but they are tailored to you personally, and at the end of the workout you sit down with Jonathan to actually learn about what you're doing - including nutrition which is a huge part of it. The attention to detail makes all the difference, and it's actually very rewarding learning about your body in such a way. Rather than leaving Edinburgh feeling deflated that I won't have access to such a good personal trainer, I'm leaving feeling confident in my ability to carry on this journey alone, and that simply wouldn't be possible without everything I've learnt from Jonathan. My love for food and drink unfortunately caught up with me the past few years! Working with JC Fitness has genuinely been a life changing experience from both a physical and mental perspective. I worked with both Ben and Claire and the professionalism and level of knowledge was truly there from the start. I had previously only taken classes (body pump and spinning) so this was a very new experience for me. Although the the body pump and spin classes were challenging, I wasn't seeing the results I was hoping for and noticed that the body fat around my stomach, arms and legs weren't going away! (Grrrrrrrr) I took the step to find a personal trainer in Edinburgh in the Stockbridge area and wanted one with nutritional expertise as well as exercise. I got more that what I hoped for working with my personal trainers and learned so much along the way. This stuff really works! Jonathan and his team are fantastic – their knowledge of fitness, development and nutrition is excellent. As PTs they helped my wife and I to improve our nutrition, develop better habits and increase our knowledge of impacts of actions on your body – from understanding the low carb trap to specific mental focus on muscles used during exercise - all evidence-based research. Accountability and traceability is key!!!! We were already relatively active so opted for twice-weekly sessions. In just 9 weeks, we have both seen body fat reductions (mine from over 20% to 16% whilst maintaining my weight and never feeling hungry) and improved fitness and recovery. I gave Steven the challenge of getting me to do a specific Crossfit movement that I’ve been unable to do for the last two years so built into my programme was specific muscle development to help with the progression and, within 7 weeks, I was able to do that exercise. Have confidence in the measurements as they are very specifically done – great to see monthly development photos too. Well worth it!

Without a single doubt Jonathan is THE best trainer I have worked with, period...
I went to Jonathan with some pretty unique goals, a challenging timeline and schedule, I beat the goals and felt and looked great.
Jonathan is not however for the uncommitted, he is as motivated by your goals as you are and he has the luxury of being able to choose who he works with. I had a wedding planned (in just 3 months) and wanted to go from zero to kitesurf fit in that time. I worked out 2 days a week with JC but the important component was the change in my activity outside the time we worked together, activity rates, diet etc.
Above all it was a great experience, good fun, and rewarding. I now stay in contact with him from the other side of the world as we have also moved! He knows how to charge, but he is great value, if you really want results your google search is over!!!
