I've been training with Martin for about 6 months, and I really can't recommend him enough. He's helped me go from someone who had the desire to train strength to someone who feels confident walking into a gym - someone I could never have imagined I would be even a year ago.
His programmes are clear and effective, he is flexible and responsive to changes in schedule, and as a result of his strong motivation I have already achieved far beyond my expectations and I have no desire to stop seeing the strength and muscle gains stop now!
I trained with Martin on a 8 week programme. I had just started doing weight training and wanted to grow my confidence and knowledge in order to get better results. Martin was very supportive and always on hand for feedback or advice. My confidence in the gym has grown massively as well as my strength. I felt I had the knowledge and support to be able to push myself and see bigger results in my numbers and myself than I had with any other workout programme. When finishing with Martin I wanted a plan which I would be able to carry on despite having a busy schedule and this is something has created for me meaning I am able to carry on my training with all the knowledge Martin has given me and continue to see progress with my sessions.
I trained with Martin for just under 1 year and would highly recommend him if looking for a PT that will push you to achieve your best in every workout. Sessions were well structured and diverse so you could easily see and feel the progress made week on week. Martin tailored the workouts to my goals, and gave recommendations for both diet and exercise that could be actioned out with our sessions. You will definitely feel fitter and stronger after training with Martin!
I started weight/strength training with Martin a year ago. He tailors a programme specific to you which will help you to achieve your goals and is sustainable to fit in with your lifestyle. This is switched up every couple of months, keeping things fresh and ensuring you are progressing and hitting your goals and targets! Since starting training with Martin I feel much stronger and have gained muscle which are my main goals I wish to get out of PT sessions.
Martin is good at what he does and is a lovely down to earth guy. He makes you feel comfortable throughout sessions and always makes sure you understand what you are doing. He has also always been helpful outwith sessions if I've ever had any questions regarding gym programme etc.
Weight training is also a great stress outlet, something which I think we would all benefit from with the way life has been the past year or so/is at the minute! Once you begin to see/feel the benefits from training both physically and mentally this will spur you on and motivate you to keep going!
Whatever your fitness goals I would recommend Martin to help you both achieve and maintain them! 💪
I had never been to a gym prior let alone weight lifting. Martin guided me every step of the way from technique to diet in order for me to work towards my fitness goals. I remember when I first started about a year ago I was having trouble squatting with just the bar. Now I consistently squat 60+ kg and on better days that figure rises to 70 (keeping in mind I didn't train during all the breaks in between eg. lock down, summer holiday etc.). I currently feel much more confident in a gym setting and would highly recommend Martin as a trainer for anyone who is just trying to start out but hasn't quite figured out how to do so yet.
Martin is a very helpful, knowledgeable and encouraging personal trainer who was quickly able to teach me many of the techniques I needed to help me improve muscle strength and posture and has provided a tailored program that I can continue on my own. Highly recommend.
During the lockdown (I think like many working from home) I piled on weight and generally just lost any fitness I had before it. Started training with Martin after the first lockdown and immediately really enjoyed it. Having very little experience of weight-lifting, it was really good to not only train but get taught how to lift safely and effectively. Not only that but training with Martin has encouraged me to eat better and work out by myself as well which I was always nervous too before we started. There's been a change in weight, change in shape but most importantly I just feel fitter and better about myself.Top guy and great trainer!
I started working with Martin in the middle of the summer in 2021. I was very much out of shape and very anxious at the idea of returning to the gym post covid and also just getting back into training regularly after so long of not doing it.
Martin's approach has been fantastic. He didn't throw me in to the deep end too quickly and the first few sessions were very much about what I was capable of doing and not overdoing things. The programme really hits everything and after a few months I'm really seeing the physical benefits of being back training and great gains in strength compared to day 1 of starting.
I'd very much reccomend Martin for anyone who wants to get into strength training and be led by someone who is knowledgeable and encouraging.
Martin is a great personal trainer and I highly recommend him. I have never had a personal trainer before so didn't know what to expect. I did his 8 week programme where he designed an exercise programme for me and also gave me regular advice on my diet. He went through each exercise ensuring that my technique was solid. Each week he would check my progress and give me helpful feedback and tips. He was always available via text/phone if I had any questions. I am seeing great results with my body looking more muscular and defined in a nice healthy way, and my posture and gait have improved too. I look forward to doing another 8 week programme with him in the near future.
After 7+ years of tendonitis and ITB injury, having exhausted many rehab solutions (physio, pilates) without positive results I had given up and approached Martin whilst feeling particularly dispirited and unmotivated, he has helped me to completely turn that around. Prior to seeking Martin's help my injuries had made me give up hill walking, running and even my beloved cycling. Now, his strength training guidance has me back up the hills and cycling long distances again. I feel like I have my life back! Like I'm in my twenties again, but even better and stronger than I ever was before! Highly recommend.
