Had a root touch up with Cameron today who was lovely, explained the process well and very chatty! Very good colour match too. Would recommend! Previously have seen a few others for colour and cuts here too who have been amazing. Helen is super friendly and couldn’t be more committed to the result :) best of luck to you all

Amazing haircut by Karl. He is really a great man, very flexible and cut as per your needs. He has cut my hair and beard 3 times and I always been satisfied with his service. The saloon is really nice, all staff members are very friendly. The trainees are provided great support.

What a find! With the cost of living rise, I'm trying to cut down on costs, without compromising on my hair. My junior stylist was thorough, talked me through the process and did a fantastic job with my toner, wash, cut and blow-dry (under supervision). This would have ordinarily cost well over £100 at my usual salon, but here it cost just £18. Plus, you are helping to help someone to train and qualify. Win win!

Today is one those monumental days I will remember for the rest of my life. It is the day I bid farewell to my long hair (10 inches) that I have grown for over 2 years during lockdown. Needless to say, I experienced a flurry of emotions as I was coming to a close on my hair growth journey. Its likely that I may never have hair of this length again in my lifetime. I found comfort in knowing it is going to a good cause: 'Little Lady Locks' is a charity that supply, fit and maintain hair replacement systems to children who are suffering with Alopecia and any other hair loss conditions. This process was superbly handled by Laura Pearson, who washed, conditioned, dried and cut my hair with utmost enthusiasm. Its clear she is very passionate, detailed and has a great sense of fulfilment about her craft. The end result was a massive transformation and we were both very pleased with the end result. This has been my go to place for the past few years and has my highest recommendation - everyone is very friendly and welcoming. If anyone has long hair that they wish to cut - I would strongly encourage using this place and considering donation - everything will be handled by the staff and you could even end up leaving with a certificate like I did. Thanks again!

I trained here as a barber and have to say it’s one of the best choices I have made. Lots of experienced staff and tutors. Lots of haircuts completed with feedback, hints, tips and advice which have lead be to be able to cut mens hair above and beyond the expected level needed to qualify. Would highly recommend LAFHAB and would say to any new students if you get the opportunity to work with Lou or be involved in any of her demonstrations I highly recommend you to, you will learn a lot!

Love love love this place! The atmosphere, staff and students where just 10/10. Very hands on learning, full of support and offer additional day courses with Wahl with it being a Wahl centre of excellence. The tutors have years of experience and that really showed. Level 3 here I come!

Did my NVQ level 2 in hairdressing and barbering here, the tutors were very approachable and friendly plus with the course been flexible it suited me as I could attend around my part time job. On a bonus the course price was a lot more competitive than elsewhere, would definitely recommend training here! Plus having a salon and barbers attached you gain the relevant “shop floor” experience which you don’t gain from other courses elsewhere.

If you require the right training to become a barber or hairdresser then this is the place that will get you where you need to be. It took me 56 days to qualify as a barber and leaving with a NVQ Level 2. All the trainers are excellent at getting the information over to the student to progress to the next level. Though Am at the start of my new career and there is still much more to learn about the business, I left feeling confident that I knew enough to go it alone. I researched this place for my partner, I’ve been in the hairdressing industry for over 27 years, I wanted my partner to join me as a fully qualified barber. We both went on the taster day and met Katie who was extremely helpful and talk us through the process so we were happy to sign up, 3 months later my partner had qualified as a barber with his NVQ 2.

I did a taster day in February 2015 along with someone else, after a tour around the building we did a bit of theory in the morning and after lunch we were practicing some cuts on male training heads, then we watched a cut in the barbers. We both enjoyed the taster day and signed up. One of the main attractions of lafhab is the flexible attendance, because my day job meant me having different days off every week and some weeks no day off so I could attend there as I wanted. Overall, I found the training to be really good as they don't stand over you or treat you like kids, they have patience and will keep going with you until you understand what they have been taught and it is a relaxed enjoyable atmosphere. Some times I went online at home to get onto the resources so I could read up and revise for tests. I was really impressed with the barbers where I got a lot of experience, by the time I left I went to work in a barbers and I wasn't a fish out of water. The staff were great, I made a few friends there and I would recommend them, my sister is thinking of going there for a hairdressing course. I will also be going back for their wahl courses to get additional skills.

Saw a sign today for £1 cut (with a student) so thought il give it ago. The student I had was very friendly and gave me a great cut with a top fade. The trainer was very approachable and nice. Very pleased with service I had today, to the point I felt slightly guilty only having to pay a pound so I gave the student a small tip to say thanks. Usually go to city gents but will be coming here from now on. Thank you!

The best training providers I’ve ever had the pleasure of studying at. LAFHAB go above and beyond with everything, I have dyslexia and they provided everything I needed at no extra cost to myself, they allowed me to work around my full time job and children. I paid to be taught how to be a barber not for one to one lessons as people have previously complained about. The owners at LAFHAB resolved every hurdle I had and any problem I had in my personal life they helped to support me to still continue my training. The staff go above and beyond and a special thank you to Keith, Pariss, Glen, Elaine, Kim, Lou and Leslie. Without there help and support I would not have qualified, they do not just tick boxes as many other colleges do, they teach you everything you need to know and my new job couldn’t believe the experience I had having only just qualified. The barbers downstairs gives you great experience and gets you completely job ready, my new job said everyone they’ve had on a trade test from LAFHAB are always amazing and know 100% what they’re doing. A real sound investment for a change in career and a real gem of the barbering world. If you’re wanting a change in career no matter your age these are the guys! They teach you like adults and not children and the staff value you being there. I couldn’t recommend them enough! Thanks to all @ LAFHAB it’s been a pleasure.

I've just completed my Level 2 Hairdressing here and was so pleased I found this place. Everyone is amazing and work really hard to help you achieve your goals. I am from Scunthorpe and in my 40's so was really nervous to what a change in career would be like. However, on my taster day I was met by Lois and her lovely smile which made me feel welcomed striaght away. As the day went on I realised the academy is extremely diverse and everyone was really friendly. The course itself was very flexible and with hard work very rewarding and not before long became qualified within 8 months. I would like to say a massive thanks to Lesley and Ewelina for all the hard work, effort, patience and tons of support they provided me with. I am truly blessed to have been trained by the best! Within this time I attended the Hair Extension course situated at LAFHAB delivered by the amazing AshleyMarie. This course was absolutley amazing, very thourough and professional. All information you need to start up on your own, how to colour match, where to purchase your extensions and how to price. Followed by practical on how to carefully and professionally fit individuals, wefts and tapes with that face to face contact for high quality results. You receive a certificate and kit which is very impressive. So a massive thank you to LAFHAB its staff and students I've had an amazing 8 months and will be looking for additional add on courses within your academy within the future. Lisa P
